-Hermione Pov-
"Hurry up! We need you down here this instant girls! I know you are tired, since yesterday was Christmas and all but it's time to get ready for the wedding!" Mrs. Weasley screeched. I groaned and rolled over, looking at my alarm clock. It was only six thirty. The wedding wasn't until three. "Mum is mental." Ginny grumbled from the other side of the room. I nodded my head in agreement and got up, stumbling to the bathroom and washing my face, getting myself awake for the day. Once I left the bathroom and went back into my shared room I saw Ginny was still asleep. "Oh no you don't, get up! I expect you to be downstairs in ten minutes at the latest." I told her with a frown before going downstairs.
If I was going to suffer, so was she. "Coffee, I need coffee. "I mumbled once I hit the bottom step of the staircase. "Did I hear that someone needed coffee?" A voice asked as I looked up. Fred was standing there with a steaming cup in his hand. "Oh you're a life saver!" I exclaimed as I gave him a side hug, not wanting to accidentally have the coffee spill on him. "Who said this was for you?" He joked as he handed it over. "I said it was for me." I answered simply before going into the kitchen.
I was surprised to see everyone up. Angelina looked rather unpleased as she bitterly ate her food. She was probably the most tired, being up late with last minute planning and probably getting up earliest. "Where's George?" I asked Harry as I sat in between him and Ron who had his head on the table. "It's bad luck to see him before the wedding." Angelina piped up from where she was sitting. "Ah, an old tradition, that makes sense." I said with a nod as Fred came back in, Ginny in tow. She looked the grumpiest out of us all. "Watch it; this one has an attitude problem." Fred teased before Ginny smacked him in the face.
"Ginevra Weasley I expect you to apologize to Fred this instant!" Mrs. Weasley demanded, looking crossly at her only daughter. "Sorry Fred." She said flatly as she sat down, fixing herself a plate of breakfast. "Don't sound so sincere Gin." Fred grumbled, rubbing his face before he quickly made two large plates of food and ran off, probably going to go join George in hiding. "Alright, now hurry up and eat we have a lot to get done in the next seven and a half hours." Mrs. Weasley said chirpily before we all let out loud groans. She pretended not to hear us.
Angelina was very good with colors; she knew what would complement what. The boys were wearing sky blue ties and the girls were wearing a lavender color, which complimented all of us, even Ginny who had a struggle with colors. "Is it okay if I wear this necklace?" I ask, all our dresses were the same but I didn't see why jewelry had to be. Angelina smiled slightly and nodded her head. "Of course you can." She answered. My hair was in loose curls down my back and I smiled slightly. I moved my hair to the side as I put on the silver chain with the round locket. Fred had given it to me for Christmas; it had a picture of us in it.
I move my hair back in place as I adjusted my strapless dress, feeling that it was too short in the front. It went to just above the knees in the front and it flowed down to the ground in the back, hitting the back of our silver stilettos that I was sure I was going to hurt myself in. Angelina looked radiant. She had lace sleeves and just a creamy white long dress. It was simple but elegant. "It's time for make up!" Mrs. Weasley said happily, she was probably the most excited person about this wedding. I sat down next to Gin who was grumbling quietly. I giggled and started putting on my eyeliner, letting my friend grmuble away.
"Hermione, you're next." Angelina's cousin, Felicia, said from behind me. I was walking down the aisle with Fred. I found it odd since he was George's best man he wasn't walking with Felicia but I didn't question it any further. "You look absolutely stunning Mione." Fred whispered as we locked arms, him kissing the top of my head. I felt my face turn red just as Ginny and Harry got to the end of the aisle. Thank Merlin it was our turn because I don't know if I could have made a response. We started walking with smiles on our faces and mine was just a tad bit forced.
We were at the reception; Angelina had officially become a Weasley and she was so happy with George. We could have sat at the head table but we decided we wanted to sit with all our friends. So at our table were Ginny, Luna, Neville, Harry, Ron, Draco, Fred, and I for the most part. Fred did venture between the head table and our table. The food was supposed to come soon but then Angelina looked like she was going to make an announcement. She made her wand into a microphone device and stood up. "Before we eat I would like to toss my bouquet. All the single girls please make your way to the empty dance floor." She said before putting her wand down, grabbing her bouquet.
I thought about not doing it, I thought it was quite stupid how girl's fought over that. Ginny grabbed one arm and Luna the other, dragging me out of my chair and to the dance floor. "I don't want to do this." I complained as I started to feel squished in by people. Angelina turned around and counted to three, looking over her shoulder as she threw the bouquet. I had my arms crossed, until Ginny made me put my hands up. I watched it and it was heading in this direction. And the funny thing was, I caught it. I wasn't even trying to, but I did. "Who caught it?" Angelina said as she started looking for the bouquet in one of the girl's hands.
"Hermione caught the bouquet!" Luna answered excitedly. I laughed as I saw the disappointed looks on most of the other girl's faces. Angelina came over and hugged me. "Congratulations on catching it." She said with a grin and I rolled my eyes, hugging her back. "Thank you Angelina." I responded with a laugh. "You do know what that means, right?" She asked as she started walking back over to where George was. "What does it mean?" I asked in amusement. "You're the next to be married." She answered with a wink and I let out a laugh. I knew it was the saying but I didn't believe it. "Yeah, sure, whatever you say." I said shaking my head as I walked back to the table.
I set the bouquet under my chair during dinner; the eight of us joking and talking after the speeches were made. Dinner was being served and it wasn't until then, someone brought up the bouquet. "So who's the bloke?" George asked in amusement from behind me. I jumped in my chair and turned to see him and Angelina. "Shouldn't you two be eating?" I asked, deciding not to answer him. "Shouldn't you be telling us who you're in a secret relationship with?" Draco asked from the other side of the table with a smirk. I shot him a glare and Harry nudged him gently, trying not to let out a laugh I knew he was holding in.
"Yeah, who are you getting married to?" Neville added in. "Do tell, I would love to know." Ron said with a smile. I crossed my arms; my friends were a bunch of jerks. "Guys, guys, could we leave the poor girl alone?" Fred asked, having everyone to turn and look at him. "Oh and why would we do that?" Ginny asked teasingly. "Do you know who it is Fred?" Harry asked with a smirk. "Yes, of course I do." He said with a nod of his head. Luna grinned, looking excited. "What is your guess?" The blonde asked curiously. "Well, guys, obviously it's me. Mione thinks I'm devishly handsome and that I am funny. Plus, she's obviously in love with me. Oh, and we would be the most attractive couple ever. So yes, I am here to announce the truth…Hermione and I…We are having a secret romance!" He exclaimed ever so dramatically as he stood up.
I couldn't help but let out a little giggle. It was fun to joke around, especially when no one was being serious. "My dear twin, how could you have not told me?" George asked in mock horror. "How could you not tell me about your marriage until last minute?" Fred challenged. "I…Guess you have a point, carry on." The twin said with a snicker. Angelina laughed and watched the banter continue. "Why am I just hearing about this Hermione?" Ginny asked with a pout. "I am, after all, your best friend!"
"It's just so exciting, the secrecy. Plus we didn't know how you guys would react. We can confess our love for each other now. We were planning on eloping once we graduated." I said, deciding to play on as I stood up. Fred wrapped his arms around me, holding me almost protectively as I leaned him. "My last relationship was a sham. It was a cover up, just like Fred's relationship with Ilene. She's actually a lesbian; she just agreed to cover it up." I giggled as I leaned against the taller man. He chuckled and nodded his head. "That is totally, what's going on." He almost sounded sincere.
Everyone was laughing and Fred had wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head on top of mine as we listened to everybody. I blushed slightly, feeling slight butterflies in my stomach. I could not possibly have feelings for Fred, I thought I had successfully suppressed them. "What's going on?" A feminine voice asked from behind us. I quickly pushed Fred's arms away and moved away from him, my face as red as Ginny's hair. "Oh hey mum, Angelina and I are going to go eat." George said quickly, pulling the new bride away from the awkward situation, lucky her.
"W-What do you mean mum?" Ginny asked as Fred and I quickly sat down. I stared down at my plate. "I meant Hermione and Fred, don't be silly Ginny!" She said and it got a whole new level of awkward. "Nothing is going on mum. We were playing around since she caught the bouquet." Fred answered her with a sigh. I looked up and shot him a glare, why would he bring that up? "Hermione you caught the bouquet?" Mrs. Weasley asked happily looking at me and then at Fred. "And the two of you looked quite cozy…Is there something you need to tell me?" She asked. "Well-"Draco started before Harry pinched him. "Don't you dare continue." I heard the brunette whisper to the blonde. "We aren't together Mrs. Weasley. We were joking around, besides, Fred has a girlfriend." I said with a sigh and she glared at Fred. "Fredrick Weasley! You have a girlfriend and you didn't even tell me? What is the matter with you? I am your mother! We will need to have a long talk!" She grabbed Fred by the ear and started dragging him away. "Ta Fred!" Ron called after his older brother, chuckling. "Well that was…" Neville trailed off. "I hope there's pudding." Luna said absentmindedly.
We clapped our hands as George and Angelina finished their first dance. "May I have this dance?" Someone asked behind me, I knew who it was before I even turned around to look at him. "Of course Fred, I would love to." I said with a smile as I stood up, accepting his hand. We walked to the dance floor, me almost tripping once. "Easy there girl, we don't want you getting hurt." Fred said with a smile. I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around his neck, resting my head against his torso. It felt so natural to do that.
"So you were saying I had a girlfriend to my mum. Thank you for getting me in a lot of trouble." Fred grumbled. "Well I thought she knew." I said with a pout, feeling as though it wasn't my fault at all. "What was there for her to know?" He asked me. That just got me so confused, had he gone mad? "That you had a girlfriend…" I trailed off. "But I don't have a girlfriend." He said and I moved my head so I could look at him in the eyes. "What?" I asked, thoroughly confused. "You know that letter that was delivered by an owl yesterday?" He asked me and I nodded my head slowly. "It was from Ilene, she broke up with me." He said with a shrug of his shoulders. "Oh my….I am so sorry Fred! You don't look too broken up about it though, why?" I asked with a frown as I gave him a quick hug. He chuckled and hugged me back quickly. "We were starting to fizzle and I kind of agreed with her, but you still got me in trouble with my mum." He said with a pout. "I said I was sorry, what do you want?" I asked in a complaining tone.
I regretted it right after I asked him that. I could see the evil smile slipping onto his face as he started to concoct something in his mind. I frowned at him nervously, chewing on my lower lip. "Okay, I have decided what I wanted." He said after a few more minutes of torture. "What is it?" I asked narrowing my eyes. "I want one kiss. Just one little one on the lips." He replied with a smirk. "Oh yeah, because that won't give your mum the wrong idea, good plan Fred." I said sarcastically. "Hey, you asked and I answered." He said rolling his eyes. I laughed and looked him in the eyes. "Right, okay, I guess I owe you a kiss." I said softly, a bit too eager to do this. He was single. I was single. This was the perfect time. I closed my eyes and kissed him gently, ever so briefly.
As I tried moving my head away he brought one of his hands to my chin, tipping it upwards as he kissed me back. I was too stunned to try and move away again. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my hands moving to his hair. "Oi, get a room you two!" Neville called from a few feet away. I blushed and moved away from Fred. He was grinning and I was absolutely mortified. "I-I have to go. I'm awfully tired; I'm going to go change and sleep. Bye Fred!" I called as I took off the stupid heels and ran to the table, picking up the bouquet and then running off to the room that I shared with Ginny.
-Fred Pov-
"You aren't going to chase after her?" Mum asked from beside me. I jumped and turned to her. My mum was like… Well, something that was fast and silent. "No mum, I have this all planned out. Now I let you in on my secret, I don't want anything to go wrong. Now if you excuse me, I have to go pay my respects to the new couple." I told our mum as I walked over to George and Angelina. "You two are amazing, you know that? Thank you for switching your plans, thank you for rearranging things for me and Hermione." I said sincerely to them, hugging my new sister in law and my favorite twin.
"I wasn't pleased when you said you would rather walk with Hermione and I wasn't pleased when you wanted to rearrange our table settings so no one had to sit with us and you got to sit next to her. I was also especially upset when you wanted me to rig the bouquet toss so she caught it. But after seeing you with her tonight…It was nice. You obviously care about her and she obviously cares about you. You two are so adorable and I hope it works out for the best. "She smiled as George wrapped his arms around her. "I can't believe my little Gred is growing up." George said with a loud sniffle.
"Says the one who just got married, I think you're the one who is growing up." I said sarcastically as I pulled them into a hug. "Welcome to the family sis." I continued as I pulled away. "Raise him right, if he does anything wrong I give you full permission to hex him." I said as George hit me. "And when Hermione and you get together, I'm going to tell her she can use any hex she wants on you whenever she's upset, and she knows tons of spells and hexes and curses." George said with an evil smirk. "You are terrible." I said with a pout. "Yeah but so are you." My twin said as he enveloped me in a hug. "I miss you already Forge." I said with a sad smile.
"I miss you too Gred." He said with a small smile. "Have fun on your honeymoon; make sure to take pictures, alright?" I asked the two as I started backing away. "We will, but we aren't leaving for a while, we haven't even cut the cake yet." Angelina said with a chuckle. "Oh, yeah, I guess you haven't. I wish you luck Angelina with this one. He's mental." I said with a wave as I walked over to the table, finishing my dinner. I was okay with sitting by myself; it was nice watching the happy couples dance. Soon I would be one of them.
Ilene and her girlfriend Gillian had arrived just in time, right before the cake was about to be cut. They said they would show up late to the reception, giving plenty of time for me to make a move on Mione and her to scurry off. They were at the wedding; they were just sitting in the very back. "Hey, nice of you to join us, pull up a seat." I said happily to the two girls, Gillian looking around in fascination, finding all the magiked stuff interesting. "Uh, everyone you know Ilene and this is her girlfriend, Gillian. They'll be sitting here for the rest of the night, you know, when they aren't dancing."
After the cake was cut and served the room was buzzing with chatter. Gillian was making good friends with Luna and Draco and so Ilene took that opportunity to lean over and ask me a few things. "So did you do it?" She asked softly and I nodded my head. "Yep, I told her we broke up and I kissed her. Things are going according to plan. Soon, I will be able to ask her out. She caught the bouquet." I said in slight amusement. "Are you already planning on proposing to her?" She asked sarcastically. I shook my head. "No, that will take a few years. She won't say yes if I asked her anytime soon." I answered with a slight smile. "You're really serious about this girl…When are you planning on telling her how you got her?" She asked with a smirk. I frowned and thought about it. "The day after our wedding sounds about right." I joked. "Oh Fred, you will learn secrets don't stay a secret that long."
