A/N: So I am trying this new thing where I set up a dead line for myself and I chose Wednesdays. Basically I will try and update all my stories every Wednesday. Lets see how this goes.

(Cara)

The next few months after the proposal were hectic to say the least. I had to split my time between D'hara and with Kahlan. The people of D'hara were a little reluctant at first of the idea of me ruling but as the days turned into weeks and weeks to months I slowly gained the trust of the people. When I declared my union with the mother confessor no one disagreed (which was a relief). I also gained back control of the mord'sith and had a few trust worthy members by myside as I traveled.

"Lady Rahl we have already scouted up ahead and everything was clear if we keep this pace we shall reach the palace in about three candle marks." I nodded at Raina.

"Berdine how can we speed up our arrival?" Berdine began to explain the different routes that we could take to speed up our arrival time to one candle mark and even half a candle mark.

When I first stepped foot in D'hara I could feel the pull of the people and I knew for sure the people could feel it as well. The first thing I did was go to the Mord'sith temples and have every mord'sith retrained. After some time I found that the three that I could trust ironically were Berdine, Raina, and Deena. The mord'sith actually took to me faster than the people and I slowly started to see these three as family.

"Deena!" the pale blonde had been riding towards the end of my guards and I was missing her sassiness. "Yes lady Rahl?"

"Let's race?" She looked at me with raised eyebrows before pulling her horse to a stop and smirking. "Prepare to lose my lord." I smirked and prepared my horse. I could see the gates and so I knew we weren't far. After Raina told us to play fair we were off on the count of three.

It was close but my pure breed stallion took the lead at the last second. 'You did not let me win Deena?" she smiled and shrugged before entering the city. As we entered many had fearful looks on their faces until they recognized me. The people split in the middle and there on the steps of the palace was the mother confessor, my beautiful wife to be, my Kahlan.

I jumped off my horse and ran up the steps until I was right in front of Kahlan. I took her into my arms and spun her around before kissing her deeply. "I missed you." I felt her smile against my lips and whisper that she missed me as well. She looked behind me at the D'haran guards and the three mord'sith before glaring at the three and standing in front of me slightly.

"Are you sure those three can be trusted my love?" I smiled and motioned for the three to approach. "Look into their eyes and tell me what you see." She looked at me confused. "You know I can't read a Mord'sith." I smiled at her and took her hand. "Trust me." She looked at me skeptically before walking towards the three Mord'sith looking into their eyes one by one.

When she was done she turned to me with a shocked expression. "They trust you, all three of them actually feel repentance for what they have done to you and would gladly give their lives for you even for me." She looked from me to my three guards and smiled at them.

"Welcome but I will warn you now if you hurt Cara and try to turn against us I will confess each of you and have Cara bring you back with the breath of life and do it over and over again until I feel you have felt enough pain. Are we clear?" the three mord'sith looked at Kahlan with shocked and fearful expressions with a little respect and admiration in their eyes. "Good now come in we have to celebrate your arrival my love." I walked into the palace after my fiancé and laughed as the three followed me with their heads down.

"I told you she would threaten us." I heard Berdine whisper to her mate and Deena. "Yes know it all she did now can we please move on." I laughed at how frustrated Deena seemed with Berdine even though all of us know she has a soft spot for these two. I turn to watch them and see that Raina is looking at Berdine with so much love and pride. I decide to tease them a little and go up and whisper to Raina.

"You two know that you aren't very how do I put this oh I know 'discreet' with your love." Raina looked at me with fear and I felt bad for teasing her. I remember Darken never allowed his mord'sith to mate if he found out those involved had to be rebroken. I smiled sympathetically and put my had on her shoulder.

"Do you love her." She looked at me and smiled. "With everything that I am." I nodded and called Berdine over. "Do you love Raina?" Berdine looked at me with fear and tried to apologize but I held up a hand to stop her. "Do you love her?" Berdine looked at me with the same look Raina did before telling me the same answer.

I smiled at them both and put a hand on each of their shoulders. "Then you have my blessing to be together." They both looked at me with shocked expressions before thanking me and sharing a moment. Because I felt as if I was intruding I turned and was meet with a smiling Kahlan standing in the door way of her study and a smirking Deena.

Deena walked up to me smirk still in place. "You've changed from the ruthless Mistress Cara I trained. I'm proud of you and thank you for believing I could change as well." She smiled at me and then walked away leaving me alone with Kahlan.

"She is right you have changed and I love you even more. You did a wonderful thing for them." I smiled and looked at the two who were lost in each other's eyes. "They deserve to be happy. They are changing everything of who they are, who they were and are sacrificing themselves to protect me. The least I can do is let them be happy." She smiled and kissed me. We lost ourselves in the kiss until a scream tore us apart. We turned to see Kahlan's sister running from a confused looking Denna, Berdine, and Raina.

"I suppose we forgot to explain the situation to your sister." Kahlan looked at me with a worried expression and then a pout. "When I finally get you to myself." She huffs and goes after her sister while I go to explain to my guards why a crazy woman ran through the room screaming.
