I do not own Twilight and Percy Jackson. They belong to Stephenie Meyer and Rick Riordan.
The Volturi and Greek gods
They came out of the shadows. I stood a bit behind Edward, so that they couldn't see me. Next to me stood Jacob, Luciela and Riel. Carlisle stepped forward, "Hello Aro, my friend."
"Hello, Carlisle," he answered, "where's the demon child? Who created her?"
"If she'd be a demon child, as you call her, we wouldn't have witnesses."
"Well, what is she then?" Everybody could hear the irony in Aro's words.
"She wasn't created as you call it. She's my real daughter," Edward answered him.
"Funny story, the only problem's that vampires can't father children."
"I'd like to explain this to you if you would let me."
"There's nothing to explain. Give us the child."
"Isabella wouldn't be pleased by this, so no."
"Lady Isabella made this rule as you, hopefully, know, so we don't have a choice. Last chance. Give us the child or we'll kill you all. It actually surprises me that it's still alive. I mean you live with Lady Isabella and she made this rule or did you never tell her this?"
"That's none of your business."
"Yes, it is."
Somebody came out of the shadows. "Aro, we have a proof. Let us explain."
"Your time's up." The guard came forward. When they were right in front of us I went forward, away from Edward's back.
"Stop, now. You won't hurt any of us. She's not a demon. I thought you knew better, Aro."
"Lady Isabella, let me explain this."
"Not to me. My father'll come, you have to explain this to him." He only bowed and gave the guards the command to come back.
Then my father came. "Aro Volturi, leader of the vampire world, we'll have to talk." Aro wasn't able to speak, he had never seen the Lord of Olympus in real life, so he just nodded. "You nearly killed my granddaughter, because you didn't believe my son-in-law and if my daughter wasn't there they'd be dead, so do you have anything to say?" He shook his head. "Well, then go. We know that you didn't want to kill anybody so you can leave, but if you ever do something like this again, you were a ruler long enough, do you understand me?"
"Yes, my Lord."
"Go now."
"Goodbye," Aro said while he bowed his head then he left hurrily and the rest of the guard followed.
Irina went to her sisters. I turned my body around because it got unnerving to feel their glances staring holes in my back.
"Bella can you please explain this to us, why did Aro call you Lady Isabella and why does he fear you so much?" Eleazar asked.
"You don't know, do you?"
"What should I know?"
"The woman who visited every few months, do you know who she was?"
"No, nobody ever told me."
"Only the Volturi and Alec and Jane could tell you, nobody else ever knew."
"How do you know this?"
"I've known the Volturi since they were born."
"That isn't possible, you're human," Tanya said.
"For all you know, yes, but no human's able to know the past, the present, and the future or have many more abilities."
"How can we believe you, we know next to nothing about you."
"That's your choice, I'm just telling what I know."
"Which is so much," Hermes muttered to Apollo. It seemed like everyone forgot that my family was still there because they turned around.
"Who are they?" Irina asked.
"Just my family," I answered her.
"Just? Isabella, you know us your whole life and we're JUST your family, you're mean," Dionysus said.
"Stay out of this, you unnerving-"
"Isabella, enough. You aren't here to argue with your brother," my mother said. Dionysus began to laugh. "And you are in big trouble, I'm sure you want a few more years at Camp Half- Blood."
"Hera, the poor demigods. Maybe you should take something that is only a punishment for him and not others," Poseidon said.
"I'll think of it."
While we talked like this the other ones just looked at us but now Rosalie said something, "Bella, can you please stop doing this and tell us the truth?"
"Sure, just wait for it."
"This was the right moment all this time? Great, just great," Rosalie muttered under her breath.
"Well, the truth is my family and I are the greek gods." Somebody burst out laughing.
"I'd believe her if I were you," Riel said and with that all shapeshifters looked at me.
"You believe this, Riel?" Sam asked.
"I've seen enough to know that it's true. We're the leaders and we see her every few months. She comes to us to see if everything's alright like she does with every other leader."
"So, if this is true, which goddess are you?"
"For this, the others have to introduce themselves first." This is what they did. "You now for what the others stand but I was never in the legends. The humans should never know that there are Immortals even when they write stories about them."
"So, you're the goddess of Immortality?" Jacob asked.
"Yes, I am. My parents are Zeus and Hera and they gave me the power to rule over Immortals."
"Wow, that's hard," Emmett muttered, so that nobody could hear him.
"Emmett, I can hear you even if it's too quiet for anybody else to hear."
"Great."
"Oh c'mon Emmett, it's not like we ever had much privacy with Edward and me," Alice said.
"Maybe we should talk a bit more in the house, until our friends have to go," Carlisle suggested.
"That's a great idea," Eleazar said and they both went back to the house together while they talked about their time with the Volturi and about greek gods. Alice, Jasper, Edward, and I walked together and talked a bit about Alice and Jasper's time away; I could hear Elizabeth chatting with Aphrodite and Hebe and Apollo and Hermes talking about their latest pranks. We seemed totally normal unless somebody knew what was really going on. It made me feel normal for the first time in my life. Maybe it was actually good to live some time as a human.
Edward brought me out of my trance when we got in the house.
When we were all seated in the living room they began more specific questions like what I'd seen so far and if I had affairs so far (this one was from Emmett and I loved to smack him hard on the head which actually hurt him). Then I made clear, after Edward began to growl, that I never had an affair and I'd never have, as Aphrodite and my mother both made sure of this. After this came the embarrassing stories of my childhood which wasn't long but still… for the time I was born this was perfectly normal, however; now it wasn't. Emmett couldn't laugh enough and if he was a human, I would've thought he was going to die because he couldn't breathe, until Hades told him that his childhood stories were comical for us. Then he actually shut up - even if it was just for a few seconds.
When the sun fell, I could feel the mood in the room change, they all wanted to go home. I no longer sat on the sofa, but stood in front of the window and watched the sun fall, which meant that my brother wasn't here anymore and my sister too. Suddenly, I heard my Uncle Poseidon next to me. Had I been so in my thoughts that I didn't hear him until now? It seemed so.
"How are you doing?" he asked.
"Fine."
"You seem exhausted."
"I can't be, remember; immortal in every sin of the word."
"I know, but even you need a break, you can get mentally exhausted. If you weren't your brother's sister, even crazy, however; he won't let that happen to you."
"I know."
He abruptly changed the subject, "You're a good mother, you know. Elizabeth's a very sweet child."
"Sometimes I don't know what I'm doing," I admitted, "I always feel like I spend too little time with her and Edward alone. There's always something I have to do."
"You're a goddess and she knows that she has to share you with your job. You're much more caring to her than anybody. Percy hasn't seen me since he was brought to my palace. Some demigods have never seen their godly parent."
"That's something else."
"You know it's not, so just be like you always are. You're doing a great job. I have to go now or else my palace'll be destroyed."
"Goodbye," I hugged him the first time in many decades, maybe even centuries.
After this, I didn't stand alone long until strong arms embraced me from behind. "Have you seen my wife? I couldn't talk to her properly the whole day and wanted to do this now."
"You should search for her," I answered him, then turned around and kissed him on the lips. "Hello there. Where did you leave our daughter?"
"Aphrodite wanted to hold her and gave me no other choice but to come here." I laughed, that was definitely my aunt. "You know, I love your laugh. I haven't seen it for too long." He began to tickle me to the ground and suddenly, we had an audience. Everybody laughed.
They talked a bit more and then our guests bid farewell. We all talked for a little while longer after this and then one after one, they went intp their rooms until only Esme, Carlisle, Edward and I were left. Elizabeth was already at our cottage, Athena brought her there and would look after her until we'd come.
We talked a few minutes more and then, we too, left.
