There is a land called Passive-Aggressiva and you are their queen

It was a Sunday morning. Derek and Katie woke up early and left without bothering Addison, who constantly complained about how far they had to go every day from the hospital to the trailer. They just left a note, which she read as soon as she got out of bed to get ready for work, but they didn't take long. When they got into the trailer, Addison had just taken a shower and had her red hair thrown forward trying to dry it with the hairdryer. She didn't notice where her husband and daughter got into the trailer until he stopped by her side holding something the startled her at the moment she turned her face to check.

"We got a trout!" Derek said.

"Oh!"

"Rainbow trout!" Katie said sitting on the bed.

That day the girl was dressed like she was prepared to explore nature. Just like her father. Addison frowned at that.

"Why bring a trout into the house?" Addison asked.

"It's a trailer and it's a rainbow trout." the girl corrected.

"Why bring a rainbow trout into the trailer?"

"Breakfast." Derek said opening the refrigerator.

"Breakfast?

"Hungry?" he asked with a smile on his face.

"Yes!" Katie exclaimed, raising her arms.

"For trout?" Addison asked.

"Yeah." Derek said, starting to wash the fish in the small sink.

Addison was in silent, trying to control her breaths to restrain her anger, but she couldn't stand it for long as she watched her husband and daughter smiling making her feel like she was the only one in disagreement in that life.

"I hate this, Derek!" she said stumbling on the hair dryer wire that reached the limit in front of her, "I HATE THIS! HATE! HATE! I HATE THIS TRAILER!"

She went into the bathroom and slammed the door, while Derek and Katie exchanged a look with a scowl.

"So no trout for your mother then?"

Katie chuckled softly.

"Hey!" Derek scolded in a whisper, also holding back the laughter, "So no trout for today."

"But, daddy..."

He put the fish in the refrigerator and began to prepare the normal breakfast before his wife left the bathroom. After breakfast, the little family left, and after leaving Katie at school, the couple went to the hospital, where they came upon a small demonstration at the entrance, where the nurses demanded better working conditions and higher salaries. They went through the tumult, entered the workplace and began their days. Addison went to the neonatal department while Derek went to neurosurgery, where he soon discovered that his morning surgery had been canceled. So he stayed in the emergency room until it was time to get his daughter to school.

As he entered the elevator to go downstairs, he was surprised to see Meredith ready to leave. This wasn't a time when interns used to come home.

"Hi." he said as the door closed.

"Hi." the intern answers.

"You leaving?"

"Yes..." she said, "80-hour limit." Informed reminding of the new hospital rule, "You?"

"Surgery was postponed. I'm gonna get Katie at school and try to do something with her this afternoon."

"I have a dog." Meredith said.

Derek was surprised.

"You have a dog?"

"My point is, I have a dog. I've moved on."

"Oh, you know what? I love dogs. Katie too." he informed her with a smile on his face that left her melting.

"I'm over you."

"I'm over you too."

"You are?" Meredith asked.

"No."

"Well, I am... Over you."

"I'm over you too."

She looked confused at him, then the elevator door opened and Addison came in while Meredith left. She stood beside her husband and stared at the ceiling as the elevator door closed. Derek exchanged a quick glance with his wife, who then looked straight ahead, as if she didn't notice him.

"I'm gonna get Katie at school..."

"Huh..."

She continued to pretend she was ignoring him.

"There is a land called Passive-Aggressiva and you are their queen."

"I'm fine." she said.

"Except when you shriek about trout."

"I was not."

"You was shrieking about Meredith."

"I was shrieking about the trailer. I hate that trailer."

"Last three weeks have been about that?"

"Yes."

"Not about saying I love Meredith?"

"Loved."

"What? You said loved. Past tense."

"Yes, past tense."

"Well, then I have been shrieking about the trailer."

"You should not do that in front of Katie."

"Oh no?"

"No."

"Why?"

Derek looked at her with one eyebrow raised. "Because it's Katie!" he wanted to say. And it was exactly the words that came out of his mouth.

"Because it's Katie!"

She looked at him with a look of superiority and took a deep breath.

"Do you think your daughter might be ashamed to have a crazy mother? Or are you ashamed that your daughter thinks you had the guts to have a daughter with a crazy woman?, "

"Addie, tell me what's going on with you."

"I can't take you both anymore."

"Sorry?"

"This partnership, this friendship, this complicity you have with her... I can't take it anymore."

Derek surprised himself and exchanged a quick glance with his wife.

"Have you thought about what we're gonna do with Katie after school?" she asked, wanting to change the subject, "Nurses are on strike, and from what I hear, the clerks are not running the daycare."

"For nothing."

"Huh?"

"They're not running nothing."

"Yeah… So?"

"I'm gonna pick her up at school now and occupy her in the afternoon."

"Okay. But what if your pager rings?, "

"Adele?"

"You don't have shame?"

"Of course not. She loves our daughter. "

"Yeah, but we can't go for it."

Addison saw she was already reaching her floor, then pressed the button to stop the elevator.

"Addison..."

"Derek, if you wanna have a life here, we have a life here. But in a house, with a decent bathroom, with a bedroom for Katie and everything a house has. We need a house where we can hire someone to look after our daughter while we're working. "

Derek looked away quickly, then Addison pulled his face.

"Anything other than that, it's not us trying to make a living."

She pressed the button again to get the elevator back up and down on the next floor.

"I'll bring Katie to lunch here!" he said as she walked in front of him.

"Do not o that! Are you gonna bring the girl to eat hospital food?, "

The elevator door closed again, so he went downstairs alone, then fetched his daughter from school. He was eating with the girl when he got the call from Meredith. He quickly answered in surprise.

"Meredith?!"

"Meredith?" Katie asked before bringing the burger to her mouth.

"I have a dog, I don't have space to have a dog and I don't wanna have a dog anymore."

Derek didn't know what to say, so he looked at his daughter who gave him a questioning look and smiled.

"Katie, do you wanna have a dog?"

"A dog?" the girl asked leaving the sandwich aside, "I wanna have a dog."

"Take it to the trailer at 9:00 p.m."

"Thank you, Derek."

He hung up the call, then turned to his daughter, who was completely happy in front of him.

"What's the name, daddy

"Maybe it already has a name, sweetie."

"I want it to be Meg. Could it be Meg?"

"Sweetie, it may already have a name."

"But it'll be ours now."

"But the name is not something we can change."

"Shall we buy a dog toy? And a little house? Is it a boy or a girl? We can buy a bow to put in its hair..."

"Princess, calm down, we'll have time to do all this." Derek said, "But now we have to think of something."

"What?"

"Your mother. She's gonna wanna kill us both. "

Katie frowned, causing her father to laugh.

Addison had a quiet day at the hospital. As soon as her shift came to an end, she changed into a taxi and went back to, "home". Arriving there, she soon saw a small wisp of smoke rising in the air and approached her husband who was sitting in a chair in front of the trailer, while Katie ran on the lawn with a colorful ribbon of artistic gymnastics. The girl ran to her mother as soon as she saw her and Addison bent down to give her daughter a tight hug followed by a kiss on the cheek.

"I was missing you." said the girl.

"Me too."

Katie started to play again as her mother walked over to her father.

"I'm cooking the trout outside." Derek said as his wife sat in the chair beside him, putting the bag aside.

"I can not believe you kept it..." she said.

They were both silent as Derek took another sip from the beer bottle he held in his hands. Then she thought she could relax a little on the charges. Even she was tired of it.

"There is a land called Passive-Aggressiva and I am their queen."

"That's all I'm saying."

She took the bottle of beer from her husband's hand and took a sip.

"We're gonna have a dog."

Addison took the bottle from her mouth slowly and turned to her husband.

"What?"

"Meredith and Izzie bought a dog, but they can't have that dog anymore..."

"I don't believe it, Derek. Did you offer yourself...? Without talking to me?, "

"I'm sorry... Katie..."

"Katie ?! Oh, you're shorter than I thought. "

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about you using Katie to make decisions that you wanna make!" Addison said pointing to her husband, "As I said, I'm tired of this complicity of the two of you, I'm tired of you making decisions without me participating, I'm tired of you using our daughter to make me voiceless in that relationship, Derek!, "

"I don't use our daughter for this."

"Oh no?! So why is she always on your side?"

"We have the same interests..."

"Ah! Fuck you... "

They were silent for a few seconds. Derek tried to talk to his wife, but he didn't know what to say.

"So what? With Meredith..." Addison asked, "Am I supposed to just wait it out? Wait until it passes?"

"That'd be good."

She rolled her eyes, breathing in the background.

"I still hate the trailer."

"As is your right."

A headlight came up and Katie soon ran to where the car stopped.

"Daddy, they're here!"

Addison and Derek got up, then walked to where their daughter stood, excited and anxious. Meredith got out of the car, then George, and finally Izzie, who was carrying the big, white, hairy dog by the collar. Katie quickly walked over to the animal and crouched down in front of him.

"What's his name?" Derek asked.

"Doc.

"Hey Doc." the girl said, stroking the animal's fur, which soon began to lick her face.

"Here's his stuff." George said to Addison, who didn't pick it up.

Derek picked it up.

"I'm gonna get some rest." Addison said, before kiss her husband's face and walked away.

"Come, Doc! Come on!" Katie said, moving away with the dog.

She ran down the lawn and Doc behind her.

"Katherine, be careful!" Addison said before entering the trailer.

George and Izzie exchanged a glance, obviously understanding that their boss had not gotten very well with the idea of the dog.

"Thanks for doing this." Meredith said, "I know it's a lot to ask."

"It's all right. It's just a dog."

"So, he chews everything. So don't leave anything out." George said, "He hates cats and small, little, yappy dogs."

"Oh!" Derek said surprised.

"You don't have to do this, you know?" Meredith said.

"Well, you know, I got all this land and Katie..."

They all turned to the girl, who amused herself with the dog.

"She loves dogs, she always wanted one. It'll be good for her. "

"Derek..."

"It's just a dog."

"Yeah." Meredith said.

###

After deciding to stay in Seattle with Derek, Addison didn't communicate with the people of New York except for Savvy, but only once or twice. The person who cared more about that silent exile was Mark. He has always been part of the life of the couple of friends and Katie. Being out of it made him agonized, especially after he had witnessed Addison's drama after Derek had disappeared. Even after weeks had passed, he still wanted to know how she was in Seattle. That was why he bought a ticket on the internet in the middle of the night to the other side of the country.

He arrived there in the morning and stayed in a hotel for a few hours in doubt. With all the news Amelia had given him before he got on the plane, he was afraid to find Addison and Derek happy, overcoming all that had happened before. Basically, even if he knew it was wrong, he hoped the woman he loved could return with him to New York. He was never very brave, despite having everything he needed, a rental car and the address of the Seattle Grace Hospital, it still lacked the courage for him. The only thing that still held him there was the fear of meeting her and receiving the much-feared no. However, he took a deep breath and finally to walk to the bedroom door and out.

When he was at the hospital, he was impressed. It wasn't as big as Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, but it was bigger than he expected it to be. He took advantage of the confidence he had taken so far and entered the place, stopping in front of a counter, where two nurses were talking, and asked for information about surgical walking. After being informed, he smiled proudly at the whispers that followed him. It was like that everywhere he went.

When he stepped down on the floor he was told, Mark soon spotted a young, blonde girl standing in front of a computer, making notes on a notepad. He imagined it was an intern, then came over to ask for information, but he turned his attention from the tomography images she was watching on the screen.

"Invasive non-small-cell with a history of COPD?" he asked, "That guy's pretty much a goner."

"Sensitivity. I like that in a stranger." the girl said smiling, "Are you new here?"

"Visiting. Confounded by all the rain and it's only my first day in town."

"You get used to it."

"Makes me want to stay in bed all day."

She was startled by what she heard.

"We just met and you're talking about bed. Not very subtle."

"Subtle's never been my strong suit." Mark said in a seductive voice, "So do you go out with co-workers?"

She took her eyes off the papers and smiled.

"I... I make it a rule not to."

"Then I am so glad that I don't work here."

"Are you hitting on me? In a hospital?"

"Would that be wrong?"

She smiled and held out her hand to him.

"Meredith..."

Then Mark felt a strong impact hit his face, causing his body to fall to the ground. Addison, getting out of the elevator after leaving Katie in the nursery after lunch, was surprised by what she saw.

"What the hell was that?!" the intern asked as the neurosurgeon paced back and forth moving his aching hand.

"That was Mark." he informed.

Quickly Meredith bent down to help Mark get up and Richard emerged from one of the corridors. Some patient families, who were passing through the area, were standing to see what was happening.

Derek looked forward and felt an immediate rage consuming him when he saw that Addison was standing there, not knowing what to do. She was looking at her husband, but at Mark as well. She didn't understand what he was doing there. Richard then ordered Meredith to take Mark to a fixing room and for Derek to follow him into his office. Finally Addison left the place to follow her husband.

"Punching people on my surgical floor!" Richard asked closing the door while Derek was sitting on the chair and Addison would get an ice pack with Patricia, "My head of neurosurgery, punching out people on my surgical floor!"

Addison put the ice over her husband's hand, which pulled it out.

"Put the ice pack on your hand." she said sitting beside him.

"My hand is fine." he said in disgust.

"Put the ice on your $ 2 million-a-year hand!" Richard ordered him to leave the ice on his hands, "Now would someone tell me what the hell happened?"

Derek immediately looked at his wife, as if he wanted her to answer that question. Addison felt embarrassed and took a deep breath as Richard continued to wait for the answer.

"That was Mark" she answered in a barely audible voice.

"Who's Mark?"

"You must not remember much of him, he was not one of the best intern." the redhead said, "He and Derek used to work together back in New York..."

She didn't want to admit that story in front of Derek, so she was silent for a few seconds.

"And... Hum... They were we were all close friends."

She shut up before the angry looks that her husband threw at her. She turned to Richard, but she felt even more ashamed.

"Until Derek found us in bed together."

Richard was surprised, then turned to Derek.

"You put your weight behind it?" asked.

"Yes, sir."

"Well, all right, then."

Richard knocked Derek on the chest and left the room, leaving the couple alone. Addison was silent, waiting for her husband to say something, but all he could do was make it clear in his gaze the anger he felt at that moment.

"What the hell is he doing here?" he asked.

"I have no idea." she answered, "I really have no idea."

Derek kept glaring at her.

"I have no idea." Addison said, standing up.

She walked to the door and left leaving her husband alone. Derek stood there for a few minutes, all of which had stirred up many feelings inside him. When he left the chief's office, he walked down the corridors of the hospital, not quite sure where to go. The only thing he knew was that he didn't want to meet Mark in a moment, but he was walking in silence when he heard loud laughter from Meredith, looked around saw Meredith laughing as Mark said something while he was suturing his own face. He took a deep breath in the anger that gripped his even more and strode down the corridor looking for Addison. He found her in an examination room, distracted in front of a computer analyzing some ultrasound images. He closed the door and pulled his wife behind, kissing his neck. Addison was surprised.

"Derek..."

He didn't say anything, just turned her over abruptly and invaded her mouth with a kiss as he squeezed her breasts with one hand.

"Ai... Derek..." she complained, feeling a little pain, but he soon kissed her again and set her down on the table.

Addison groaned as she felt the hands of her husband slip into her shirt to caress her back, making her shiver as he kissed her. She didn't know which was the last time they had sex, so she was excited to feel the erection of her husband still covered by his pants.

Derek brushed her hair out of his way and sucked her neck as he slipped his hands to take off the pants she wore. Addison only groaned with her eyes closed. She tugged at her husband's hair as she felt his hand slide her panties down her hip to her legs. The piece got stuck with the pants on her shoes, but she soon rubbed one foot in the other to take it off.

"Derek, this is..."

"Wrong" she would say before he kisses her again.

"Shut up." he said, lowering his own pants and underwear to the knee.

He stood in the middle of his wife and sank, kissing her neck, making her moan.

"I love you..." she said, stroking his neck as she helped with the movements, listening to his heavy breathing that intensified his movements, invested more and more violently against her.

Addison felt his big hands go through her ass, then squeeze it lightly. Then he removed her face from his neck and looked at the reaction she was having, moving her head, eyes closed.

She was startled, shrieked a little loudly, and immediately opened her eyes when feeling Derek's hand pounding on her ass.

"Look at me." he ordered.

Addison came over to kiss him, but he quickly pushed her away to continue penetrating her quickly. She looked at him, but it was too exciting, she felt she could have an orgasm any time. She tried to look sideways, but soon Derek pulled her face to continue looking at him and gave a light kiss on her lips.

All she could hear was the sound of hips pounding, his breath catching and a moan in a controlled tone. She could see a strand of sweat running down his forehead, then tilted her head back and closed her eyes. Once more she felt an impact, this time even stronger than the first, on her ass. Immediately she looked at Derek.

"I told you to look at me." he repeats.

"Derek... Enough..." she said pushing his chest.

"No, Addie..."

"Stop... Stop... Stop!" she exclaimed, managing to push him, "What the fuck?"

He gave her the same look that he threw into Richard's office and tried to approach her again, but she soon pushed back.

"What the fuck, Derek?!"

He was silent. Then Addison got off the table and pulled her pants down her legs.

"Addison..."

She glanced at him, who also pulled on his pants.

"Listen, do you wanna talk about it? We can talk about this, but you're not gonna hit me, okay?! No way!"

She left the examination room, leaving him alone. Derek sat in one of the chairs and closed his eyes wondering what he was doing. After a few minutes, his pager rang and he also left the examination room to go to the patient's room. When he arrived, he was surprised to meet Mark in front of the boy who, in addition to having a brain tumor, had a deformity on his face.

"How is that possible?" the patient mother asked.

"It's precision work..."

"Dr. Sloan, can I help you with something?" Derek asked.

"He says he can fix my face." the patient said as his doctor approached, "He says he can make me look like normal."

"Another surgery is not something I'd indicate." Derek said. "His condition is very fragile, he may not have two anesthesia..."

"We can work together." Mark suggested, "Why to put him under a second anesthetic?"

"Dr. Sloan, you don't work here. "

"I don't want to, but it seems like I'm in the right place at the right time, since..."

"Mark..." Derek chided.

"Dr. Shepherd?" said the mother, "What do you think about that?"

"I don't..."

Then she turned to her son.

"Honey, I'm sorry."

"Mom..."

"Your life's more important than your appearance."

###

"Is your life is more important than your appearance?" Mark asked pacing back and forth in Richard's office, "You swear you took a woman to say that to her own son just because of your ego?! I have something to remember you, Derek: none of this has anything to do with you!"

"That is not the point!"

"The kid wants his face fixed!" Mark said.

"NO, YOU WANT TO GET PUBLISHED!" Derek said pointing at his former best friend.

"Yeah, and I'm guessing your Chief of Surgery does too. The press loves a before-and-after shot, Richard."

"Call me dr. Webber." Richard said.

Derek smiled proudly. Richard took his eyes off the plastic surgeon and looked at Derek, who was sitting across from him.

"Derek, out of friendship to you, I would very much love to say no to this jackass. But as chief..."

"Please don't say it."

"Dr. Sloan, if you can get the parents to sign a consent form..."

Derek took a deep breath.

"Round two goes to the jackass." Mark said.

Derek left the office and slammed the door. Mark was soon after, and as he was walking in the main hallway toward the patient's room, he found himself facing forward with Addison, who turned her back on the path from which he came.

"Ah! Come on!" he said running to catch up, "You're not even a little bit happy to see me?"

"Go home!" she said without stopping, "Whatever it is you came here to do, just drop it."

"Hey, we all made mistakes, Addison. All three of us." Mark said standing in front of her.

Addison tried to deflect but she couldn't.

"Look..."

"But Addison, in this whole story, the only one who's losing is me. Somehow I lost my best friend and the woman I loved."

Mark's gaze on hers made her shiver. She knew he was sincere in that statement.

"Please don't say that."

"Does he know everything that happened?" Mark asked, "Does he know everything that you went through after he left?"

Addison took a deep breath and looked away, making Mark sure Derek didn't. He didn't know what he'd done when he left New York, taking Katie with him.

"How do you expect to work out a marriage if you can't even be honest with him?"

"Why are you here?" he asked.

"For one reason: to bring you and Katie home. I miss you, Addison."

"I'm in love with my husband, Mark."

"But he's not in love with you. He's in love with that intern. And he's not even trying to hide it. Why would you want to stick around for that?"

"I'm fighting for my marriage. Get out of my way. Back to New York!, "

"What about Katie?"

"It's none of your business." Addison said finally managing to divert him to follow her day's work.

She tried to keep herself occupied until the end of the day. She knew that Mark was having Derek's surgery, so she tried not to imagine how much anger her husband was taking at that moment. In the interval between one c-section and another, Addison looked for her husband, but couldn't find him. She also wanted to talk to him about what happened in the exam room.

At the end of the day, she changed her clothes and went up to the daycare to get her daughter. The girl was happy to see her mother, but soon she noticed that she was distracted in the elevator while listening to her telling how it was her day.

"Mommy... Mommy..."

Addison didn't hear.

"Mommy, do you hear me?!" Katie asked, wiggling her mother's hand.

"I am, sweetie."

The elevator door opened and Derek was surprised to see his wife and daughter.

"Daddy!" Katie exclaimed, hugging her father as he pulled her off the floor.

"Princess..." he said giving a kiss to his daughter's face.

The elevator door closed.

"Can we eat pizza tonight?" the girl asked.

"No, princess. Not tonight."

"Why?"

"I don't wanna eat pizza tonight."

"But we never eat pizza."

"Maybe tomorrow we can eat pizza, but not tonight."

Katie kissed her father's face, which made Derek smile before putting her back on her feet.

"You guys are weird."

They exchanged a quick glance and silenced each other. The door opened again and some people entered.

"I didn't see you all day." Addison said.

"I didn't want to see you today."

Addison shivered at the dry answer she'd given him and took a deep breath as the elevator came back up.

"It's not my fault he showed up, Derek."

"I know."

The door opened again and after two people left, leaving the family alone again, Mark entered. Katie, who had not seen him in a few months, was surprised and smiled.

"Uncle Mark!" she exclaimed, hugging him.

"Hey, monkey!" he said returning her embrace.

"I'll take the stairs..." Derek said getting out of the elevator as soon as Mark entered.

"Ah, Derek! come on!" Mark said holding the elevator door, "How come you forgive her but not me?" asked.

"I didn't forgive her. And with you, I have no obligation to try. I'll wait for you in the car." he said, turning to his wife, "Come with me, Katie."

The girl was about to walk to her father, but Addison gave a slight tug on her arm. She wouldn't give Derek the chance to repeat what he did in New York.

"I'll wait for you in the car." he said.

The elevator door closed, so Mark looked at the redhead.

"Your marriage is over, Addison." He said, "All you have to do is admit it. Then you can come back home with me."

Addison turned her eyes.

"I'm going to the bar across the street... Meet me there."

The elevator door opened and Mark left. Addison was soon after, but instead of walking up to the blond man who was walking in front of her, she walked out with her daughter through the front door and walked to the parking lot.

"Mommy, will uncle Mark meet with us in the trailer?"

"No."

"But what if..."

"No, sweetie. Listen." she said, stopping to walk and looking at her daughter, "Don't talk about uncle Mark with daddy, okay?, "

"Why?"

"Because I'm talking to."

"Daddy and uncle Mark quarreled?"

"Kinda. But we're gonna let them make up by themselves, okay? You don't have to interfere with it."

Katie nodded.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"Good girl."

Addison kissed her daughter's face and then they found Derek in the car. He didn't even wait for them to fasten their seatbelts and then he got out of the parking lot at high speed.

"Derek, don't drive so fast." Addison said.

"I'm not driving..."

"You're running." she said, interrupting him.

"No, I'm not."

Without realizing it, Derek stepped a little further on the accelerator and overtaking the road, heard the loud horn of the car next door, which was soon lost.

"Derek!" Addison chided.

"Mommy, do you think the uncle...?"

Derek sped up a little more.

"Put the belt on, baby." Addison said to interrupt the question she knew her daughter would ask, "Derek, stop running on the track."

"I'm not running..."

"You're running..."

"I'M NOT RUNNING ON THE FUCK TRACK!

"YOU ARE NOT RISING ONLY OUR LIVES!" she countered in the same tone.

Immediately Derek looked in the rearview mirror and met Katie's gaze, confused and terrified. Gradually his foot stopped squeezing the accelerator and Addison put her hand on her forehead before turning to their daughter.

"It's okay." she said, stroking Katie's knee, "It was nothing, okay?"

When Derek parked in front of the trailer, everyone quietly left the car and entered the small place. Without a word, he went into the bathroom to take a hot shower, so Addison grabbed some instant noodles to make them eat.

"Put your backpack in place, Katie. Don't let it drop on the ground, someone can stumble and fall. "

Katie obeyed and then sat down on the small table seat while her mother prepared dinner on the two-burner stove. The noise from the shower water could be heard. After preparing the three noodle dishes, Addison placed one in front of her daughter and sat down with a plate in the only seat in front of the girl.

"I'm sorry. We shouldn't have screamed. I'm sorry about that."

"You fought?"

"No... I mean..."

Addison thought to say yes, while Katie sucked on the pasta without taking her curious eyes off of her.

"No. It was nothing. I'm sorry for what happened. I'm sure daddy feels too."

Derek left the bathroom, wiping his voluminous hair with a towel, and set it aside without speaking.

"Are not you gonna have dinner?" Katie asked.

"No, princess." he said, kissing her daughter's forehead, "Daddy's not hungry."

He looked at Addison and walked over to the bed, where Addison saw him lying down with a medical journal.

"He does not feel very sorry." Katie said.

The girl went back to eating in silence. When she finished what she had on her plate, she pulled what should be her father's dinner and ate it too. Addison picked up the dishes and washed them in the little sink, while her daughter took a shower. As soon as the girl left the bathroom, she packed her pajamas into her body and watched as she climbed onto the bed to lie down next to her father. Derek turned his attention away from the medical magazine, set it aside, and pulled his daughter to lie on his chest.

"So, what did you do during the day?" he asked giving a kiss on the girl's forehead.

For some reason he could not explain, she made him feel lighter. Her scent was like something magical that kept him from all problems and relaxed him.

At first, I'm sorry for the delay in updating. My classes started again in college and I had a very busy week. So, as I've said before, this story has an ADDEK ending. Addison and Derek are gonna be together, but maybe it will take time for you. I'm not from the USA and here in my country people don't like to know the end of stories, they like to enjoy one chapter at a time without knowing what will happen to the next one. Now, I have received many reviews asking if the story is gonna have an addek endgame, so I'm saying YES, this is going! But I think any story needs a context to make sense. Derek's hurt and it doesn't go away on a magic pass. He needs some time to remember why he loved Addison, don't you think?
