Hey guys! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while. School has gotten insane so now I can relax for a bit. Anyways… Here is Chapter 10. This might be the last chapter, I'll let you know at the end of the chapter. -J.A.

January… 40 weeks…

Kate sat on the couch starring at the clock on the wall. It was 3pm on January 9th and she had been nervous since she woke up this morning. Rick walked out of their bedroom fresh from a shower. He saw her still sitting on the couch. He groaned and moved to the couch.

"Kate? Come on sweetie you have to get dressed." Rick said placing his hands on her shoulder and guiding her towards the bedroom. She stopped short and turned and faced Castle.

"Rick! What if I go into labor? Our precious baby boy would be born on the saddest day in my life! I can't have that!" She started crying and threw herself into his arms. He hugged her tight and soothed her unit she calmed down.

"Kate. Don't think about that! You will end us sending yourself into labor! If you calm down and go on with the day as usual you'll be fine. Plus, no one is ever born on their due date." He said. She looked up at him and wiped her eyes.

"You're right. I should just continue on as usual and I'll be fine." She smiled and walked into the bedroom to get dressed.

Rick sat in his office, fingers flying all over the keyboard of his computer. After his talk with Kate he had a great idea for a book and he needed to write it down fast. He was brought out of a writing trance by a scream coming from their bedroom. He jumped out of his chair and sprinted towards the bedroom. He ran in and found Kate sitting on the bed clutching her stomach. He ran to her and kneeled in front of her.

"Babe! What's wrong!?" He said frantically. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

"I think I just had a contraction." She whispered. He looked at her with wide eyes but he quickly gained his composure.

"Okay Kate, It might be false labor. Relax and we'll wait for another one." He wiped the tears rolling down her cheek, got up off the floor and pulled her off. She nodded and followed him to the living room. Half way there she stopped suddenly and looked down. Castle noticed this and turned around and found her frozen in fear. He looked down and saw a puddle around her feet. She made eye contact with him then withered to the ground from the pain of a contraction. He caught her and carried her out of the loft and to her car.

He placed her in the seat and hopped in his car and drove as fast as he could to the hospital. On the way there he called Alexis and told her to pick Johanna up from school and come to the hospital quickly. He parked the car and ran inside with Kate in his hands. She was crying and yelling from the pain. He placed her in the wheelchair and ran next beside her into the delivery room.

Kate was dressed in a hospital gown and fighting the contractions. Rick was standing next to her encouraging her and helping her through the contraction. The doctor checked her progress.

"Okay Kate, You're almost there. 9 centimeters. Shouldn't be long now." Kate looked at Rick and bursted into tears. He comforted her and soothed her.

"Rick! I'm so happy our baby is going to be here soon." Rick smiled and kissed her softly. The doctor walked in and checked Kate once again.

"Okay Kate. It's time to push." Kate nodded and sat up a little more. She grabbed Rick's hand and listened to the doctor count down from 10 as she pushed with all her might. All she could hear were the screams she was creating and the encouraging words Rick was saying to her.

This reminded her of Johanna's birth, the only difference was that Johanna waited 19 hours of labor to make her appearance into the world. She pushed for what felt like forever. Stopping every 10 seconds only to have to start again and push even harder. She pushed for one last time then she felt relief and heard a cry fill the room. She looked up and saw the doctor hold up their son. She smiled and started crying. She turned towards Rick and saw tears run down his face. She laughed and brought him into a deep kiss. They were broken apart by the nurse holding their newborn son, who had stopped crying and calmed down. The nurse placed the baby in her arms. The proud parents starred at the baby in awe. Their baby was here and h was perfect. Rick took a picture of the baby and sent it to their family.

An hour later, everyone was piled outside in the waiting room, waiting to see the newest edition in person. Castle walked out into the waiting room and told everyone to follow him quietly. Johanna leaped into Castle's arms and made him carry her to the room. She couldn't contain her excitement. She has been waiting for so long for a sibling. Everyone entered the room and gaze at the new baby in awe. Rick put Johanna on the bed with Kate and they let her hold her new little brother. Everyone knew his name already. Kate couldn't keep it a secret. Everyone stayed for a bit then they all left except for Alexis, who was holding her new baby brother for what seemed like forever. She placed the new born inside of the bassinet and whispered to him.

"Welcome to the world Kendall. Now, What I'm about to tell you stays between you and me okay?" She said. The baby looked up at her with his wide eyes. She spoke again

"I know you were just born but you're going to be n uncle in about 8 months. Don't tell anyone okay?" She said with a smile. She starred at the baby for a bit then returned to Kate's room. Alexis said her goodbyes and took Johanna back to the loft until tomorrow when Kate and Kendall were expected home. Rick sat on the bed with Kate and spoke softly.

"I love you so much honey. You have brought my life so much happiness and I don't know how I can repay you for that." He said. Kate eloped up at him and spoke

"I love you too Castle. You don't have to repay me. You have given me the life I thought I would never have. Thank you so much baby." She pulled him into a deep, passionate kiss. She pulled away and he climbed into the bed with her and they both fell into a peaceful sleep.
