Hey, guys! I just got a request from mycutehamlet for the next chapter of "Stolen Moments." She's going through some crap right now and she requested a Klaroline one shot. So, here I go. Thank you for the reviews on the last update, I appreciate it! KLAROLINE FOREVER!
And I will love you, baby - Always
And I'll be there forever and a day - Always
I'll be there till the stars don't shine
Till the heavens burst and
The words don't rhyme
And I know when I die, you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you - Always
Caroline felt the need to kill someone as she walked out of the theater. She couldn't believe the humiliation that she just endured. She had just found out that someone else had been given the job that she was going for, which was assistant manager. Then, to add insult to injury, they told her that she could work in the costume department. Well, that really set her off and Caroline had stormed out without so much as a word to the asshole who had picked someone else over her. Why was it that no one would ever take her seriously? Didn't they understand that a job in the costume department wasn't what she was really looking for? Having been in the ballet when she was a little girl, she had seen firsthand what the people in the costume department were put through, and she felt sorry for them. Now, years later, that's what they wanted to give her, a thankless, piece of shit job like that? Well, they could take that and stick it up their asses.
She sighed heavily as she headed to her car, wanting to put this shitty day behind her. When she climbed in and shut the door, Caroline felt her eyes well up with tears and she started to cry right there in the car. As she continued to cry, Caroline looked up to the heavens, sending a silent prayer up to God for some kind of relief. No sooner did she do that than she heard her cell phone ringing. Reaching over and picking it up, she saw Klaus' name on the ID screen, making her smile through her tears. Not about to let it go into voice mail, she pressed "SEND" and put it to her ear.
"Klaus?"
A sob escaped her, which he heard on his end. "Are you all right, love? You sound upset."
"No, I'm not all right," she replied, deciding not to lie to him. "You know that job that I really wanted, the assistant theater manager job? Well, they passed me over for someone else! Can you believe it? And then, to add insult to injury, they said that I could work in the costume department. The costume department! Did they not read my resume?"
"Did you want me to come down there and talk to them for you? You know how persuasive I can be."
Caroline got scared and shook her head. "No, Klaus, that won't be necessary. Besides, your idea of persuasion is torturing people and killing them."
Klaus laughed slightly. She knew him too well, which was what he admired about her. "All right, love, I won't do it. But, you know that I can't stand seeing you upset. Tell you what, why don't you come home and I'll make you feel better?"
His words sent a wave of relief washing over her. Good, he wasn't really going to go through with what he suggested, choosing to make her feel better instead. It always amazed her how she was able to get him to change his mind like that.
"I'm on my way now," she replied. "I can definitely use some cheering up."
She hung up the phone and, once she was calm again, she started the engine and drove away from the place of her humiliation, knowing that she was going to be comforted by the man she loved as soon as she got home.
Later...
Caroline pulled her car into the driveway of the mansion and stepped out as soon as she killed the engine. She was anticipating whatever it was Klaus had in mind for her, especially if it was going to help take her mind off of the shitty day she just had.
When she walked into the mansion, she found it dark and quiet. That's weird, Klaus couldn't have gone out, could he?
"Klaus? Are you here?"
No answer. Where could that man have gone? I thought for sure that he'd be here to greet me.
"Klaus?"
Still no answer. However, Caroline then heard music coming from the living room. Curious, she followed it and when she reached her destination, she saw Klaus standing by the couch, shirtless and holding a single long-stem red rose in his hand, which he brought up to his nose and sniffed before looking at Caroline and smiling.
"Welcome home, love."
Caroline was speechless at first. She was then about to say something when she saw that he had taken the liberty of putting candles all over the place. "Klaus, when did you do all this?"
"I did it while I was waiting for you," he replied. "Do you like it?"
Caroline nodded. "Yes, I do. I like it very much." She saw the rose in his hand. "Is that for me?"
Klaus nodded as well and walked over to her, handing her the rose before taking her into his arms, kissing her passionately, moaning against her lips as she returned the kiss. They stepped back after a few minutes and there was a pause before Caroline spoke again.
"Thank you for doing this," she said. "You know just what to do to make me feel better."
"I knew that you would expect nothing less," said Klaus. "Plus, you wanted to forget all about what you went through today." He kissed her again. "And don't let what those idiots did ruin your day, love. They obviously don't know you like I do if they passed you over to give someone else the job you wanted."
Caroline nodded and returned the kiss. "You're absolutely right. Besides, I don't need that place anyway. There are other theaters who would accept me as their assistant manager. The idiots who passed me over will rue the day they didn't give Caroline Forbes a chance."
Klaus smiled and hugged her to him again, running his fingers through her hair. He was glad that he was able to take her mind off the horrible day she had. He knew that Caroline could always count on him to be her hero in a crisis and he would make sure that he was there at moment's notice.
Note: Here it is, mycutehamlet's request. Remember, every cloud has a silver lining and things will look up. Just have faith and you'll get through this difficult time.
