Tales Of The Impossible Girl
Amy's Choice
Clara was running through the candle meadows of Karass don Slava. She needed to get to the market on time before Amy Pond did something quite stupid. Clara instantly knew when she was nearing the market from the way it assaulted all of her senses as soon as she was in the vicinity to it. The exploding colours of the stalls, the air so thick with smells pressing in all around hear she could practically taste them and the sounds of many different races trading with each other.
Despite the distractions Clara was scanning the market to try and see where Amy Pond was. fortunately very few races in the universes had legs as long as Amy Pond.
So the problem now wasn't trying to find Amy it was trying to stop her making the detail that would unleash the Dreamlord.
Clara raced through the market. As she approached the stall Clara wondered why on earth Amy would decide it was a good idea to visit a stall selling creepy crystals. Never mind the Dreamlord, she could have unleashed the Mara or ended up with a Time Beetle on her back. Clearly this was fairly near the start of Amy's adventures.
"Amy stop!" shouted Clara.
Amy turned to face Clara, of course she didn't know who Clara was. "What?"
"Whatever you were about to agree on with that trader just don't." said Clara. She saw she was just in time. Amy hadn't shaken the traders hand yet.
"Why?"
"Erm... because I'm from Intergalactic Trading Standards and that trader is guilty of selling dubious crystals." said Clara she hoped that would work.
"Oh. Ok" said Amy. She turned away from the stall and headed towards the Tardis. "So what's dubious about the crystals?"
"It's not the crystals themselves it's what they can unleash. Creatures from the dark places like the Mara. Things on your back like the Time Beetles or the Metabelis Spiders. Or they can create beings out of negativity."
"So basically not very good things. Well thank you for the Trading Standards-ing but I suppose I should be off npw."
As Amy walked back to the Tardis Clara noticed there was something on Amy's hand.
A speck of psychic pollen...
