Glassplant: hey guys *yawns* sorry was up a good portion of the night typing-

*suddenly the phone rings*

Glassplant: sorry, just give a second. *picks up the phone* hello? who's calling and you had better have a good reason for interrupting me... oh shadow sorry, but I'm... yes I've been doing work... how many chapters have I put up? well... ok, you've got me I've have been stuck... you did what! I've told you I don't want him-... you already got him released! and he's staying here! *growls* i'm going to-... hello... darnet... *sighs* i'm going to start before he gets here... begin.

Sonic slowly began to return to consciousness. A quick look around told him he was back in his cave on Eggman's ship. Slowly our hero pushed himself into a sitting position, but instantly regretted it as an intensive pain pierced his leg. "Ah!" Sonic screeched through the pain "not the best idea!"

after a few minutes the pain ceased. "thank chaos." Sonic said as he pushed himself up onto his uninjured foot with the help of the cave wall before, slowly, exiting the cave.

Upon leaving the cave Sonic was hit with a blast of cold air. "man." Sonic says as he backs up into the cave a bit "can't that Egghead put on a heater or something. It's just as cold out there as it was outside."

Suddenly the sound of a jet-pack could be heard. Within seconds Bokkun was standing, well... flying, right in-front of Sonic. Bokkun looks over sonic for a second before saying "you shouldn't be standing."

Sonic gave a swift growl before saying "buzz off Bokkun."

Bokkun looked over Sonic for a second before grabbing the arm that he was using for support and, basically, drags him back into the cave. "hey!" Sonic yells in surprise "let me go!"

within seconds Bokkun puts sonic back were he started out and says "stay there." before leaving.

"yeah," sonic says "like I'll do that." before attempting to get himself back onto his feet.

Within seconds his leg started throbbing forcing him back down. With a sigh sonic remarked "guess I'm going to be doing what he said..."

within a few minutes Bokkun returned placing a plate of food next to Sonic before leaving. Sonic took a quick look at the food before pushing it away mumbling to himself that "I'd rather die then become his permanent thing of destruction..." before partially curling up, and falling asleep.

Sonic was slow to wake up as his stomach clenched from the fact he hadn't eaten in... "how long has it been since I was at shadow's anyways?" he wondered before sighing and saying "it doesn't matter anyways... it's not like he'll start looking for his rival after he ran out..."

Shadow threw his tent down onto his bed next to his partially packed bag. No, this was not for the recon mission GUN had asked him to take. It was for something else. A personal mission you could say. Something no one knew he was going to do.

He was going to go search for Sonic.

Shadow searched through his stuff looking for something that would keep him warm as he searched till his door bell rang. Within seconds Shadow had opened the door just enough to see rouge just outside the door. Within nanoseconds Shadow closed and locked the door mumbling to himself "I'm not going to let anyone stop me. This is what I need to do."

suddenly through the door shadow could here rouge yell "shadow! I know your in there! Let me in this minute!"

Shadow mostly ignored her till she yelled "what are you going to do when GUN gets curious about why your ignoring them!"

Shadow stops, she was right GUN would start to get curious, and if they did questions would be asked and the werehog's identity would be found out.

Shadow slowly walked back over to the door and opens it. "what do you suggest then?" shadow asked as he looks rouge in the eye.

"you need someone who can cover for you. Someone who can do your job just as good as you on your missions and since you never do paperwork that won't be a problem." she said as she looks him in the eye as well.

Shadow was shocked for a moment before saying "you'd be willing to do that when you know it might get both of us in deep trouble?"

"hey," rouge said with one of her seductive smiles "you're always getting me out of trouble, it's my turn to return the favor."

a smile, that rarely ever appeared, appeared on Shadow's face for a second before it disappeared behind his normal neutral before he said "thank you." and headed back to his room to finish his preparations.

Four days pass in a snap as the two hedgehogs go though challenges in the conditions they set for themselves. Sonic literally starving himself to try and attain death, while shadow searched around the woods out side his home city to find the captured hedgehog. Neither knowing a thing about what the other was doing.

Sonic lay on the cold, stone, floor half asleep as his stomach clenched from the fact that he hadn't eat anything for the past four days. Though Sonic didn't care, he wasn't about to let himself become a puppet to his worst enemy. That's when the sound of a jet-pack entered Sonic's ears as Bokkun entered the cave and placed down a tray with food on it before leaving.

Sonic instantly pushed the tray away as he looks away to keep himself from going for the food. He didn't trust himself not to just grab the food and eat it leaving himself back at square one. No way out. No more freedom. Just a mindless puppet.

Meanwhile in the command room of Eggman's flying fortress the evil scientist himself was watching the security cameras in Sonic's enclosure. He had expected the hero to have exited the cave a few days ago trying to and find a way to escape, though he knows there is none, yet he hadn't left that cave since. That's when Eggman realized "something up."

Glassplant: man... why did they have to send him...

*doorbell rings*

Glassplant: *gets up and opens to door to reveal a not very happy Scourge with a tracking anklet on him*

Scourge: hey babe.

Glassplant: don't you dare call me that!

Scourge: hey, I like this just as much as you.

Glassplant: fine. whatever, but you leave me alone when I'm putting thing up.

Scourge: what ever.

Glassplant: and now I end this chapter, bye. oh! I almost forgot to mention tell me what you think in the comments and if you want more of the story or not. bye now!
