Chapter 10

Roza growled, escaped, how and when could they have left. Her Army had had this entire place surrounded for hours. Unless they had somehow found out about the plan before and fled.

"Get me a list of everyone that is here, dead or alive and find out who was supposed to be here." Roza asked Johnathan "The guardians always kept records of these things"

"Yes Ma'ma" Johnathan replied leaving her alone and taking a few other Stirgoi with him. Roza strolled around her new city, several smoke pillars were beginning to form from the churches and screams could be heard from every corner. Roza smiled, this was the true beginning. Yes they had lost the queen but there were very few places that they could have escaped to and she would find them.

Roza gave a few orders to her Stirgoi army and the prisoners that were taken were separated into several groups. Pregnant women and children were all taken into the gym, several hundred of them.

All the Guardians that remained were slaughtered, there was no need to keep any people around that could and would easily fight. It was at least an hour before Johnathan returned to Roza's side with a file thick with papers.

"Kan Kirimzi Gul, look at this." Johnathan said as he handed over the file. Roza took it and looked flicked through it. A smile coldly grew over her features.

Laughing Roza said, "looks like they made out job a little easier." the guardians had keep a comprehensive list of everyone who was at the court and this included the element that each Moroi had specialised in. handing the list back to Johnathan but keeping one piece of paper to herself, Roza spoke.

"Find a few fathers that you can threaten their children and use them to help you check the identity of all the living and the dead I want to know exactly who is missing. Also send several groups through the entire compound, I want every room, nook cranny and air vent searched, if found take their identity and kill them."

'It will be done." Johnathan replied.

Laughing again Roza looked down at the paper in her hand. A list of names, those who are just Spirit users. The Cold high pitch of her laugh followed her into the gym. Heads of women and children turned as she came in, some of them she even knew before she was awoken.

"ladies and children, try not to be too scared, I promise you that we do not plan to kill or turn all of you just yet." Roza said as her eyes swept through the room. There was not a single face that didn't have tears tracks running down its cheeks.

"No, I want as many of you alive as possible." Roza said softly walking through the crowd. "I am going to call out a few names, these people if here are going to stand up and walk out the front door. If you do not," Roza paused, she knew that she needed to do something for effect and to the right of her was a mother holding a baby. She lent down and roughly pulled the baby from her its mothers arms, the mother struggled against her, but a back handed slap across her face from Roza sent her sprawling to the ground.

"If you do not, and we find you later we will hang you up and slowly drain the blood from your neck for our amusement." Roza said stroking the baby in her hands before quickly and without remorse snapping its neck, leaning down she sunk her fangs into the tender flesh and drained the infant.

Several scream, particularity from mothers echoed through the building. Roza finished and slowly lifted her head so that the room could see her now bloody smile.

Lissa sighed, it had been three days since they had fled the Court, her and 13 others. The Queen and five of the personal guardians. Dimitri, Adrian, Janine, Abe and 3 of his guardians. The group had driven to the middle of nowhere the country side. Only the guardians truly knew where they were going. Lisa had tried to ask on the first day but upon receiving nothing but disgruntled huffs in-return she stopped asking. If they had heard anything from the Court, they were keeping their mouths shut. In all honesty it had been almost 72 hours of complete silence.

A few hours later, they finally seemed to be slowing down. Turning into a large parking space, there was a building a head of them, tall and boring it looked like an office building had been picked up from any city and placed into the middle of a paddock. Several people had emerged from the building and were walking over to the cars. Intricate tattoos covered their faces. And Lissa Knew that they had arrived at one of the alchemists head buildings.

Exiting the cars the group was lead inside and into a conference room. At the far end a television was playing a very horrific scene. Bodies were hanging upside down from what seemed to be the ceiling and underneath each was a plastic tub which was collecting the blood. A few of the bodies were twitching which told Lissa that they were still alive. Turning away quickly Lissa grabbed the closest rubbish bin and emptied her stomached. Almost all of the others in the room looked queasy as well.

The head Alchemist flicked a switch and changed the channel to another screen, this was the outside of the Court, they could all recognise this area. There were several humans walking around but the sun was shining so there were no Stirgoi around. The group all took their seats,

"Good morning," the Alchemist started, "my name is Arron and I am in charge of this alchemy section."

"We have been monitoring the CCTV of the Court and I am sorry to say that there is no good news for us to give you. The whole area has been stripped searched and anyone who tired to hide through this were executed." Arron paused letting the beginning of the horror sink in,

"The women and children all seem to be alive and now addicted to the Stirgoi bite. And all the men and guardians are dead."
