Ch10
They arrived at the Palace by mid-day and Sesshomaru was greeted by one of his guards.
"Jiro," greeted Sesshomaru.
"Welcome home my lord, "Jiro stated as he bowed low.
Sesshomaru gave him a slight nod to show that he acknowledged Jiro's sign of respect.
Sesshomaru walked through the gate with Kagome close behind him, holding Shippo. Rin was riding on Ah-Un, while Jaken was walking beside them holding the reins.
Jiro snuck a peek at the miko walking so closely to the Lord and frowned.
'Why would Lord bring a miko home? Although she is a beauty to behold it still makes no sense! The Lord hates humans except for young Rin. Hmmm perhaps she is a concubine.' As they disappeared behind the gate Jiro concluded that it must be true.
As they walk towards the palace Kagome could feel the eyes of the demons staring at her. Trying to make herself seem as insignificant as possible, she hunched over the young fox kit trembling in her arms and moved closer to Sesshomaru. Sensing her apprehensions, Sesshomaru stopped and turned to face her. Seeing her follow him with her head bowed like that of a slave angered him. Shooting a quick glance to the demons behind him, he returned his attention to kagome.
"Miko, Why do you walk with your head bowed surely you do not fear such a lowly demon," Sesshomaru stated calmly. At that Kagome's head snapped up and she glared at Sesshomaru.
"You know that's not true! I just don't want to draw attention to us...Well more attention than there already is anyway."
"You need not concern yourself with that, I assure you no harm will befall you or your young fox kit," With that said, he turned and continued on his way to the palace doors.
Kagome took the time to admire the Palace in its surreal beauty. The Palace itself looks like it was carved out of the side of a mountain. What surprised Kagome though was that instead of there being a rock or Boulder used as a door. There was a regular modern-day door that looked to be carved out of oak. As they approached the door Kagome noticed that there was an image of a dog demon carved on the door.
Kagome was so caught up in studying the beauty of the palace, that she did not notice the young demon lord was watching her.
"I hope you make yourself comfortable here Kagome, and that the palace is to your liking," he said startling her from her thoughts. She nodded as they walked through the door and her breath was taken away by the beauty before her. Inside the room was a lip with a bunch of candles imbedded in the wall. The Ceiling was high enough to hold Sesshomaru in his transformed state. As they walk down the corridors Sesshomaru was intent to watch her every expression to see how she felt about his home. Seeing her eyes light up at the beauty of his home gave him a sense of pride and made him feel satisfied with how he decided to decorate his home.
"You're welcome to stay as long as you like, and you may use any of the resources I have within my house" he stated.
"Oh Sesshomaru your home is lovely," Kagome breathed.
Walking further down the corridor they approached a hall lined with doors and at the end sat a set of large double doors, walking a ways down the hall until he stopped at a door.
"This will be the room of the young fox kit; Rin's room is right across the hall."
"Sesshomaru We can't thank you enough for everything you've done for us" Said kagome turning to study shippo's room.
"Hn. Come miko I will take you to your room. "
Walking further down the corridor they approach the large double doors. Opening the door to the right He gestured for her to follow him inside.
"This will be your room. My room is located behind the double doors you just saw. Dinner will be served at sundown" with that he turned and left kagome to study her room.
Choosing to take advantage of the time they had, Sesshomaru, went into his room and quickly went to the adjacent doors that lead to the bath. Smirking to himself, as he crossed through the bathroom that connected both his room and kagomes room.
Upon re-entering her room, he stood in the doorway to wait for her to notice him. When she did, she gasped and blushed, narrowing her eyes at the smug look on his face.
"Let me guess the rooms are connected by the bathroom right?" she questioned. He simply raised one elegant brow to her and proceeded to walk towards her.
Kagome's eyes went large at the predatory gleam in his eyes as he backed her onto the bed.
Once the back of her legs hit the bed, he rushed forward and wrapped his arms around her.
"Sesshomaru? What do you thi-," her sentence was cut off as his lips came crashing down on hers in a passionate kiss.
Collapsing onto the bed Sesshomaru placed Kagome under him, and continued to kiss her passionately.
