Chapter 10

Dimitri POV

Ten years later.

It was time for the new moroi recruit orientation. I was standing there waiting for the willing fighters to file in. My eyes rested on three of them instantly. They sat so close together and held hands. There were two boys on either side of a girl. They all remotely looked like Roza. I realized with a jerk that these must be Roza's kids. They were so cute.

Once they were all settled I began talking. "My name is Guardian Dimitri Belikov. I along with the rest of the guardians are here to protect you and help you learn self defense. If you have a problem you can come to one of us. Any questions?" The girl I noticed earlier raised her hand. I was prepared for the worst. But I wasn't prepared for what she asked.

"Why weren't you there to protect Alek?"

The boy to her right put his hand on her shoulder. "Leksi."

"No Niki. I want to know. Why weren't you there when he died? Mom killed herself because of you!" All the color drained out of me. Rose killed herself?

"Aleksi Jade! You can't blame him!"

"I can and I will Zakariah Mitchel! If he'd been there Alek might still be alive!" She ran crying from the room. Her two brothers chasing after her.

Alberta ran after them. I seemed rooted to the spot. No no no. Roza can't be dead. She just can't.

Aleksi POV

I ran towards the woods. I sat on the ground along the edge and cried. It was his fault mom was dead. If he'd been there she might not have killed herself. It was unfair of me to blame Alek's death on him. He did die of leukemia. But I still blamed him. Maybe if he was there Alek would've pulled through.

Zak found me like that. Curled up in a ball crying my eyes out over people who were long dead. He pulled me into his chest and let me cry. I knew he was still affected by it. He and Niki would never look in a mirror anymore. I had to do their hair. They wouldn't look at their scars either because that was where Alek was attached to them.

"It's his fault Zak. You know it is."

"Shhhhh." That's all he said and he let me cry myself out. We sat there for about three hours. "Isn't Jeremy going to wonder where you are? Especially after the way you exited the gym?"

"What about Niki?"

"I told him I found you and you were okay. Now go find your boyfriend before he comes looking." I smiled weakly at him.

"Okay. Thanks Zak." He nodded and I left to find my boyfriend Jeremy Zeklos.

NIkoli POV

I searched for Aleksi until I got a text from Zak telling me he found her. I then went back to the gym.

It was empty except for Belikov. I about turned around and left but I stopped myself and went up to him. He seemed lost in thought.

"Aleksi's right you know." He looked up at me confused. "About you being the reason mom died. I can't exactly blame you for Alek's death. He died of leukemia." Sympathy entered his eyes. "Don't start with the 'I'm sorry' crap. There's nothing anyone can really do about it now. Alek died a little bit before we turned four. Mom barely lasted a year after that. She was too heartbroken to go on. That's where you were supposed to come in. We were hoping. We were waiting. But you never came and mom killed herself in front of us a little after we turned five. Leksi blames you for it all. She thinks that if you had been there for Alek he would have pulled through." I looked at him with an accusatory glare. I started to walk away and then stopped and dug in my pocket. "I almost forgot." I handed him the folded piece of paper. "Just in case you never got the originals." Then I walked off.

Aleksi POV

M scene

I got slammed back into the bed. Jeremy attacked my mouth with his own and shoved his tongue inside. I moaned. I felt his erection pressing up against my naked thigh. His hands came down to play with my breasts. He moved his mouth down my neck and sucked hard. He smiled against my neck. His head went farther down and he latched onto a nipple and started to suck. I moaned again and it seemed to stir something in him. He put the condom on and positioned his cock so that it was at my entrance. I nodded and he slammed into me.

I never told Nikoli about my boyfriend. For obvious reasons. Jeremy was seventeen while I was fourteen. If Niki knew that he would be kickin some ass. That's why I've never told him I lost my virginity a year ago. Zak knew and he was cool with it. But Niki was overprotective. Jeremy kissed my cheek and pulled his clothes on.

"Sorry love, But I have to go meet my brother. We're goin on a trip to the royal court. I won't see you till Tuesday."

"It's okay. I'll miss you have fun." He kissed me and I got up and got dressed too. Jeremy let himself out and I fell asleep and had me a nap.

Zakariah POV

I walked back toward the dorm. I ran into Nikoli. He had a mischievous smile on his face.

"What have you been doing?" I asked.

"Just talking to somebody." I looked at him skeptically but otherwise let it drop. "Did you get her stable?"

I nodded. Leksi tended to have panic attacks. "She went back to the dorms already." I didn't understand why she didn't tell Niki about Jeremy but I wasn't going to tell on her.

He nodded. "Good."

There. A somewhat decent sized chapter. I hope you like it. Sorry about the m scene. It just kind of happened. If you didn't want to read it, I'm sorry. But it's clearly marked.
