A/N thank you so much for the feedback last chapter! There wasn't too much~ I still might edit this to make it make more sense but for now, I'm just pushing forward 'cause someone is waiting for this to update and I don't want anyone to think I won't finish this. Two jobs take up a lot of my time, but now I have E.E.V.E. to take with me to my second job so I can still work on stories in my down time there. Everyone say hello to E.E.V.E or the Eager and Excitable Virtual Entity. She is an Asus netbook, but I name all my electronics. The computer I normally type at is named Orion but he's a bit heavier and less portable so now E.E.V.E. will be in charge of all documents.

Romano

"Ugh my head…" Lovino groans before the sterile smell of his hospital bed registers in his aching head. He struggled to get his eyes to open, despite their protest at the sting of the light. He needed to know where he was now, not knowing was making him feel anxious.

'What the fuck happened to me? Did we go out drinking last night? Did I get into a fight?' he thought angrily when he realized how sore his muscles felt, everything came to him slowly, like a computer booting up and turning on one function at a time.

"Lovino!" he heard his brother shriek; only having a few seconds to linger on how much he sounded like a freaking girl before he ran over and latched onto his hand. The younger quickly started firing of questions in a panicked mix of Italian and English. Lovino might have smiled had he not been in so much pain, but for now he could only squeeze his hand back to let him know that he was Okay, and try to get him to shut the fuck up. His head hurt too much to put up with much more of this talking crap.

"Is he awake?" he heard his doctor ask and what sounded to him like a clipboard being clanked on the end of his bed as it was picked up and the shuffling of paper as his charts were looked over. He grimaced, realizing there was no way he was not in the hospital right now. Lovino had always hated spending time in the hospital, needles terrified him and the annoyed looks of disapproval he got from the doctors always set him on edge.

"What happened?" he managed to rasp out. It hurt to talk like he had been eating sand paper and chasing it down with gasoline. He recognized the feeling, but he hadn't felt that way in a long time. The feeling of having screamed your throat raw and kept screaming until you couldn't scream anymore.

"Ve, you don't remember fratello?" Feli asks, going stiff as Lovino manage to force his eyes open to find out exactly where he was. He rolled them around, getting used to the light as the doctor whispers to a white blur of a nurse as she rushed by.

"Remember what?" Lovino glared at with a squint, his eyes still not used to the light. He mulled over the possibility of having a head injury while he waited for his brother to answer him. He watched as Feliciano's eyes flicked over to another bed in the room he now recognized as one of their own filled up with hospital cots.

"You and Flavio split up…" Feliciano whispered; his eyes wide open and searching Lovino's for some shred of recognition and understanding of what he had been through. It all started to come back to Lovino when he saw Spain wander into the room shoving Prussia playfully as they chattered to each other. Flashes of the party last night, waking up in his bed in someone's arms, and the blinding pain of being torn into two people while Spain's voice filtered into his thoughts through the sound of his own screaming assaulted his brain flashed through his mind's eye. Then those happy green eyes landed on his dual colored eyes and clouded over with more emotions than either of them could count before Spain tore his gaze away to look at Prussia in disbelief.

"Yeah," He muttered distractedly as he watched Antonio grabbed Prussia's arm, saying something Lovino couldn't hear to the albino, "I guess we did."

Lovino wanted to call out to him, but at the same time he didn't want him to come over at all. He felt bitter, and happy, and grateful, and so pissed at him all at once. His murderous headache wasn't helping him sort out any of his emotions or memories either! He wished he could remember more; It seemed like big chunks were missing from his night, his mouth tasted bitter and metallic, and his head felt like he was trying to watch a channel that was only half tuned in and full of static. He closed his eyes and tried to think hard of what he should be doing right now. Who was he with…? He was sure he was with someone, he knew he was, something in his heart was shouting to be held by his lover, but his head couldn't remember who they were. He remembered waking up in someone's arms this morning and feeling happy for having them there. An image of Russia flashed in his mind holding onto a potted sunflower plant and his eyes snapped back open, knowing that was not who he was looking for. Red eyes lock with his as he turned back to Spain and Prussia. Prussia was staring at him again from across the room. He looked scared; no… he looked more embarrassed than scared, like he's done something he feels deeply wrong about and is ashamed of himself. Lovino glared back at him, still used to the Albino's lingering eyes, and stuck his tongue out at him. Gilbert grinned like a madman and stuck his out back before giving Lovino a genuine smile forcing the Italian to look away and scowl in embarrassment. An image of Gilbert with his arm around his shoulders flashes through Lovino's mind and for that short time he thinks he might have feelings for him, but he doesn't have long to think about it as they both start to come over, and he realizes he ran out of time to remember whoever he's dating. He curses the powers that may be, and thinks that he must have boiled his freaking brain and broken a thousand mirrors last night to be this stupid and plain unlucky.

"Lovi!" Spain chimes as he pads up to his bed like an oversized puppy.

"Lovi, Stay with me." Spain's voice rang through the dark burning hell of a split Lovino was trapped in and he grabbed onto it, feeling the cool hands of the Spaniard's in his own that feel like they're on fire, just like the rest of his body.

Of course! He had to be with Spain, he had always been with Spain for as long as he could remember, why would he have a reason to be with anyone else? They hardly noticed him most of the time, and even when they did they just called him 'Italy's brother.' He frowned as Toni grabbed his hand and felt the familiar urge to punch his Spanish lover boil up instinctively at the public display. He pushed it down and sighed as he squeezed his hand back. Knowing how Spain can be, Lovino expects that he's been in shambles running his mouth the entire time he was out and crying like a baby… He's been through a lot, and he can't help but think he saved him from something terrible.

'I'll let him off easy this time.' Lovino thinks silently, giving the brunet a short pitying look.

"Where were you Tonio?" He asked, certain he'd say Lovi was pouting, but he'd swear to god, he is frowning and pissed he wasn't there already. He ran his thumb over Antonio's knuckles needing that extra comfort of touching him. Antonio was familiar and it was comforting just to have him by his side as he recovered. He liked it, but he'd never tell him that, it'd go to his head and he would never hear the end of it. He knows it anyway, Lovino didn't need to say it, he has never really needed to say anything, and his actions when they were alone were more than enough. Lovino decided to indulge him a little more and gave a chaste kiss to the back of Antonio's hand and swallowed his pride.

"I'm sorry I worried you." Lovino whispered just loud enough for him to hear, feeling his throat begin to heal as his nation's power came back to him, he didn't think he'd ever get used to that feeling, "I don't know what I'd do if you left me on my own."

The words felt empty and untrue to Lovino after he said them, he felt like he was lying, but he didn't think he was… he felt like he knew what would happen if Spain left him on his own, and the thought of it didn't bother him like it normally would have. He felt like he missed something, like something he knew very well. It was like when he had tried to figure out Feliciano's birthday while exhausted, he hadn't been able to think of it even though they shared a birthday, and he knew he knew it. Later he had felt so stupid, but relieved that he finally remembered it, this was like the feeling of forgetting Feli's birthday.

"Ah! I was with Pooh!" Antonio answered nervously as Prussia walked up apprehensively. Lovino gave him a glare for interrupting, as per usual. What was up with them today? Spain was always so freaking happy, but why not today? Why was he so nervous? And Prussia? He was always a happy, annoying, 'Awesome' son of a bitch! Lovino needed to know what was going on, but his damn head was killing him with its forgetfulness and stupid being in pain crap.

"How are you feeling Roma?" The albino asked him quietly, Lovino might have been staring at him, but he was staring right back. They were testing the waters with each other, Romano unsure of what was happening still, and Prussia feeling guilty for not being able to help him when he needed him, completely unaware that Lovino couldn't remember some very important things.

"I feel like shit," Romano snapped, feeling uncomfortably hot under the albino's steady gaze, "What the fuck are you staring at?"

"Nothing, I'm just glad you're alright." He answered, dropping his gaze down to where Lovino was still holding Spain's hand. Prussia usually stared a little at their little displays in public, but never like that. Something was wrong, something was definitely wrong, and everyone was now aware of it, even though none of them could say exactly what it was.

"Don't lie to me Gilbert." He growled narrowing his eyes and tightening his grip on Spain's hand. The stupid Spaniard was staring at Prussia too now, but when Lovino looked at him he didn't seem like his normal Spain. He reminded him of back in his days as a pirate, eyes sharp and dangerous, "One of you better tell me what is going on!"

Prussia looked around agitatedly, anger rolling off him in waves as he struggled to hold it in, his gaze settled on the ceiling and his hands settled on the back of his head as he tried to steady his own breathing. Lovino shook his hand free of Spain's feeling more uneasy the longer Prussia took to answer him, and Spain gave him a worried look as he huffed and started trying to sit up. Sitting up caused his a considerable amount of pain, but he managed to sit up without help from the insistent Spanish man beside him and reach out to grab onto Gilbert's shirt hem.

"Kiss me you stupid bastard!" Lovino mumbled looking up at Gilbert from his claimed spot sprawled all across his lap playing with the hem of his shirt. Gil's smile sends chills down Lovino's spine as he leans down bumping foreheads with him, no longer paying attention to the show they were watching.

" Spoiled brat." He teases running a hand through Lovi's hair as he gives in to the little Italian's demand. When he pulled away he leaned back triumphantly and Lovino could feel his face heating up as he pouted at him the best he could.

"You're the one who spoils me." Lovino points out, making Gilbert laugh and mess his hair up.

"That's my job." Prussia says as he turns back to the T.V. Lovino watches him for a while, admiring his boyfriend as he thinks about all the times he's been in awe of this man.

"I love you." Lovino whispered looking away from Gilbert, almost shocked that he had said that, but he knew he did. He'd known for longer than he would ever admit, but he could admit it to Gilbert at least for now.

He went stiff and Lovino started to freak out a little bit, thinking that maybe he pushed it too far too fast. He didn't have long to let that thought wreak havoc though, as he was pulled up to sit straddling the Prussian's lap. His red eyes bore straight into Lovino's, and he tried to look away but Gilbert's hands on his face pulled him back.

"Say it again." He breathed, close enough that Lovino could feel his breath tickle his lips.

"I love you."

"Gilbert…" Lovino couldn't help but frown looking up at him with confusion obvious on his face, he needed answers but he couldn't put together a coherent sentence, "Wha…? Are we? Am I… When did…"

Gilbert looked at Lovino with his lips pulled into a thin line as Lovino searched his eyes for the answers he needed to know but he was hiding from him. Lovino's Grip tightened on Gilbert's shirt as the man before him let his hands down to his sides

"Are we?" Gilbert's words sounded like an accusation, if they were, Lovinos thinks he's in trouble. Fuck, of course he is! If they are, and he was…

Gilbert sends a glare at Spain and he shrinks back looking guilty and sad, and he's staring at Lovino's hand like he wants him and hold his hand again, tell him it's okay and to stop being stupid like he normally would. Romano meets his gaze and for a moment with a hard demanding look and Spain looks away giving Romano the answer he needs.

"Leave." Lovino commands him, not wanting to fight with him right now. He couldn't remember why they're not together, but he should have said something earlier, or at least tried to, or done something other than letting him act the way he had been!

"Lovi-" Antonio started, but Lovino cut him off.

"I don't want to hear it Toni!" Lovino shouted, feeling his throat tear at itself again, he quieted himself before speaking again, his hands shaking as he fisted the sheets, "I don't want to see you right now, or listen to your stupid half assed apologies, I just want you to leave." He paused looking up at Gilbert for a moment before returning to glaring at his lap, "You've obviously done it before, so I want you to do it again, just as easily as you left me before."

Antonio opens his mouth to argue, but closes it without a word and stood. His eyes filled with tears and he sniffed, trying to hold them back. He wanted to tell Lovino that it wasn't easy, and tell him how much he loved him, but he knew Lovino wouldn't listen to him right now and he had every right to be angry with him.

"Can I come back later?" He asks, his voice cracking and weak as he starts to lose his composure. Lovino can hear him hoping he'll say yes, and part of him wants to, but he can't.

"Fucking ask me tomorrow." Lovino grumbles and for Antonio, that's chance enough, and he steels himself with the possibility of fixing things between them. He nods, before walking away with his goal in mind.

Prussia watches him go with mixed emotions. He feels bad that his friend is hurting, but he's jealous of him getting affection's from Lovino, angry he was what Lovino remembered. He doesn't blame Lovino, he can't, if he had been able to help him he might not have ended up like this.

"Say something." Lovino breathes after a few minutes of nothing but silence and not looking at each other. Gilbert is shocked out of his self-blaming by those words and starts staring down at Lovino instead who's face is flushed and is hell bent on glaring at him until he does say something.

"Say something dammit! Don't make me give up on you!" Lovino cries out, tears falling despite his best efforts to keep them in.

"Do you remember us?" Gilbert asks, aware of the other nations around staring at them and willing them away unsuccessfully.

Lovino shakes his head and sobs as it hits him that all the memories he has of them are the first time he said I love you, "No… but I remember I love you."

Gilbert shook his head and dropped to his knees on the edge of Lovino's bed, embracing his lover fiercely and holding him as he continued to sob "It's okay Lovino, shhhh, its okay." He muttered quietly as he pressed kisses into his chocolate colored hair.

"No it's not, I don't remember anything." Lovino hiccupped as he clung onto Prussia's black t-shirt from the night before, still smelling like alcohol and cigarettes and them, "I don't want to be here, I want to go to my room, my bed, everyone's fucking staring like I'm broken."

"I'll ask the doctor if we can move you." Gilbert whispered before kissing him on the forehead and running of to talk to the doctor.

Lovino locked eyes with his brother who was shaking in Ludwig's arms with Lutz holding one of his hands in both of his. Feli looked scared, so Romano tried his best to be strong for him and wiped his tears away and forced a smile, nodding to his brother and his Germans. Lutz twitched his lips into a half smile before continuing to focus solely on Feliciano and petting his hand. Ludwig nodded back and Feliciano gave him a bright smile back chatting happily at the two Germans suddenly, making Ludwig smile his barely there smile and Lutz stare at him in amazement.

As Lovino watched he thought he saw them flicker, like a sort of shimmer in the air, but it was gone in a second and before he could figure if it was still there he heard someone fall, knocking over a stack of clipboards that had been being prepared for nations not yet split. He turned his head in time to see nurses covering a shock of white hair from his view and hear Gilbert's screaming get cut off eerily short.
