"She is beautiful" was the first thought Tulio had about Chel. She was petite but curvaceous with hair that was almost to her knees. And her smile, he could be swept off the face of the earth with her plump lips and perfectly white teeth. At first, he felt guilty for leaving Miguel at the party, But parties were not his element, and Miguel knew that. He was positive his friend would understand.

He was currently sitting in a parking lot smoking while the beauty in front of him tries to skateboard.

"I am not very good at this," She said as she fell on the ground for the billionth time.

"It's fine. I am not either." He stands to help her up. She smiles again, and Tulio's heart nearly leaps out of his chest.

"Hey.. wanna do something more fun?" She dusted her dress and made a gesture to the skateboard.

"Yeah, Like what? Roll down a huge hill?" He waved his hand sarcastically.

Chel smirked and ran to Tulio's beat up pickup truck. He followed behind but was pretty confused.

"I am gonna drive." She stated as she buckled up.

"I am not 100% sure about this," Tulio said but was promptly ignored. Chel drove for 15 minutes until she pulled up behind a building. It was 3am and the street was deserted except for a group of people riding around on skateboards and smoking weed. Chel unbuckled and got out and motioned for Tulio to follow, but he was apprehensive.

"It's fine, I know these guys"

He didn't feel any better, but he slowly got out and walked behind her. He took note of his surrounding, trying to find something recognizable. But unfortunately, his memory was failing him. He did figure out that he was downtown by the street signs labeled as letters and numbers rather than stupid names like Cherrywood or San Jamaica st. The lighting was a tinged in pinks and blue, which was pretty but impractical. The color contrast made it difficult to see in darker places.

"Yo!" Chel called out to the group of ruffians. They waved but never moved from their comfy spot.

"What's up, guys?"

"Not much. You are in time for our set."

"Really? It's pretty late."

"Yeah there were like 20 bands scheduled on the same night. We each only get to play one song and we get no beer tickets."

"That sucks."

"Yea"

Tulio was shocked that guys were paying no mind to him. He was a vampire, he looked ridiculous. But here he was, standing in the middle of a downtown parking lot next to Cleopatra, talking to an apparent music group riding bike and skateboards.

"Tulio, these are my friends. Skif, Grey, Murphy, and Jewelle. They are a local band called… What are you guys called now?

"Tiny Dick Surgery," Said a man laying down. Tulio could really pin what he looked like, but he looked pretty darn cool with his ripped jeans and dirty converse. Kinda how Miguel would dress when he was in the sludge-grind scene. He still sometimes plays the intense music when he is a bit angry. Another guy offered them a beer. He was dressed similar but had longer hair and the beginning of a nice beard. There was a girl there, tuning a guitar. Her clothes were not ripped up but her spiky haircut was pretty cool.

She looked up at Tulio and extends her hand.

"My name is Skif"

Tulio shakes it and mentally beats himself up for assuming her name was Jewelle.

"I'm Jewelle"

Tulio looks up to see a guy leaning on a bike, with a cigarette hanging out the side of his mouth. It wasn't lit, but the guy was asking for a light or anything. Tulio shakes both their hands and introduces himself. None of them really paid attention to what he was wearing, nor did he think they cared. They looked way too cool to care. He looked over at Chel who was engaged heavily in a conversation with the guy laying down. Tulio just stood there awkwardly, patting his hands on his pants. He was all to relieved when a buff guy opens the back door.

"Hey. Your set is up. Hurry up."

The gang get their stuff and walked through the door. Chel and Tulio followed. What he thought was just another building turned out to be a full and lively bar. Everyone, there was dressed in t-shirts and jeans, or leather. Tulio felt so out of place, but when he looked over at Chel and how she didn't care, he sucked it up. He watched as the band he just met set up their stuff and was beginning.

Skif was the front man. She stood there so confidently. Her tight red skinny jeans and black jean vest made her look like she was going to kick someone's ass. But when the band started to play, her voice was so calm.

"I'm….Tired... of the Hills"

Band sounded as if they had once been angels cast aside, and forced to live on the dirty streets of the city. They were dirty but beautiful. The bar was filled with people cheering and swaying along with their band. Tulio felt himself sway too. They were amazing. He looked over at Chel. She was even more beautiful with the disco light bouncing around her. Chel was amazing.

As soon as the band had started they had ended. The walked off and stood in the bar to listen to other bands play. They were not as great, but it was still fun to hang out with Chel and her friend. By 4 am they decided to head to their apartment to hang out some more. Tulio was all too ready to agree.

Their apartment was not to far away, but what did Tulio expect on a musicians lack of a salary. Granted he and Miguel did not live any better. They sat in the middle of Grey's room and chilled. Tulio was constantly complimenting them on well... Everything. They laughed with him and thought he was adorable. They munched on pizza and played video games until one by one they passed out where they were. This was a common occurrence for them. But for Tulio, he would rather sleep in his own bed. He gathered up a very sleepy Chel and walked to his truck. Chel lazily gave him directions to her home and walked her to the door.

"Thanks… for tonight." He said bashfully.

"Hey, no problem. You gotta unwind sometime." She kissed him on the cheek and walked inside her family home. Tulio stood there, stunned.

"Wow"

By the time Tulio was back on the road again the sun was peeking up behind the mountains. He was exhausted. He still had the song stuck in his head and hummed as he drove. When he arrived at the building the birds were chirping and so was he. As much as he could. Because he was so tired.

Once he opens the door he heads for his room and plops on his bed with a big smile.

As our evening, evening deeeeeeeeeesceeeends" And he drifted off to sleep not noticing he was alone in his apartment.
