A/N: So I don't usually do this, but I got a review today that really made my day, so I would like to say thank you to Y-Yukio-Y. I'm sorry I don't get these updates out as fast as you all would like, its not as fast as I would like either, but as you all know, real life tends to get in the way, and I do spend my only day off working on my stories. Please keep reviewing, its really the best way to get me to update as fast as I can.

EXT BOOKSTORE, DAY

The camera pans from the BOOKSTORE DOOR down the street. There is a line of people waiting outside, all have copies of either HOLLOW or THE SUBSECT. A good number of them seem to be older gentlemen in business suits in groups talking. RICHARD is at the front of the line, trying to negotiate his way past a woman with a clip board.

RICHARD

Now see here young lady. That girl in there is my granddaughter, kindly open the door and let me in.

WOMAN

Sir, the signing does not begin until eleven o'clock, I suggest you get into line if you want to get in at all.

RICHARD

I am not here to get a book signed.

WOMAN

Then I suggest you move aside, so that those who are interested are able to.

RICHARD

Isn't there some kind of list?

WOMAN

This is a book store, sir, not a night club.

EMILY

Oh Richard, Just let it go. I'll give Rory a call and have this entire thing cleared up.

RICHARD

It is the principle of the matter, Emily.

CUT TO INT BOOKSTORE DAY

JESS is sitting at a table covered in hardback editions of his book, looking a bit unwell.

JESS

I think I'm going to be sick.

RORY

You'll be fine.

(RORY leans against the table, running her hands through JESS's hair)

RORY CONT

They're all just people.

JESS

I didn't even know that many people read my book. Let along in Hartford.

RORY

I told you, it did really well here.

JESS

I thought that was all you, and your crazy obsession.

RORY

I love you, babe, but I didn't buy five thousand copies of your book. Just fifty.

JESS

I'm going to be sick.

(RORY's cell phone rings)

RORY

Hi Grandma

INTERCUT WITH EXT BOOKSTORE

EMILY

Rory, we're outside.

RORY

Well, come on in, we're toward the back of the store.

EMILY

They wont let ups, there's this despot with a clipboard and she keeps telling us to get in line.

RORY

But you're on the list.

EMILY

She said there is no list.

RORY

Of course there's a list, Jess

(She pulls the phone from her ear)

RORY CONT

Did you give Diane the list?

JESS

Yeah.

RORY

She has the list.

(RORY says into the phone)

EMILY

Well, she wont let us in.

RORY

I'll be right out.

(RORY hangs up the phone)

JESS

You want to check on Luke and your mom, also?

RORY

Moms probably still trying to talk coffee out of the Barista.

JESS

Okay then.

(JESS puts his head on the table and takes deep breaths as RORY walks away)

CUT TO EXT BOOKSTORE DAY

EMILY and RICHARD are looking impatient, they've been joined by LORELAI and LUKE, LUKE is arguing with DIANA, LORELAI is looking around in awe and happily drinking her coffee. RORY opens the door.

LORELAI

Offspring!

RORY

Come on in guys, Jess is waiting.

RICHARD

(To DIANA)

Well young lady, do you have anything to say now?

DIANA just shakes her head and makes notes on her clipboard as she walks away)

RICHARD CONT

What a simply unpleasant woman.

RORY

Hi Grandpa

(RORY give RICHARD a hug)

RORY CONT

Hi Grandma.

EMILY

Rory, thank you. I'm not sure what we would have done if you hadn't come to get up.

CUT TO INT BOOKSTORE

LORELAI

Oh, I don't know mother. I'm sure you would have worn the nice lady with the clipboard down.

EMILY

Really Lorelai, and how would I have done that?

LORELAI

I don't know, how did you manage to scare maids away.

(to LUKE)

You know she scared one girl away after just ten minutes.

EMILY

That simply is not true.

LORELAI

Yes, it is, I was twelve, her name was Missy or Sissy, or something. She came in, you took her to the kitchen and she left in tears.

EMILY

I don't know what you're talking about, Lorelai. Jess, its lovely to see you.

JESS

It's good to see you, also, Mrs. Gilmore. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you had getting in.

RICHARD

Well, it certainly seems you're quite popular.

JESS

I have a feeling I got a little help in that department.

(RICHARD just chuckles and taps his nose)

FADE OUT

FADE IN

INT BOOKSTORE

JESS has been clearly signing books for a while, the copies that were stacked on the table are nearly gone and JESS is starting to look more like teenaged JESS, a scowl on his face.

GIRL

It was just so romantic how John showed up at Ronnie's dorm room and asked her to run away with him, my friends and I all cried when he left all heart broken.

(RORY looks down at her hands)

RORY

Ronnie cried too.

(RORY says softly, LORELAI puts her arm around RORY)

GIRL

I just can't believe I got to meet you, do you think they'll make Hollow into a movie, I would be so happy.

JESS

Unlikely, who can I make this out to?

GIRL

Hannah, two N's.

(JESS signs the book and HANNAH wonders away, happy)

JESS

(To RORY quietly, his hand on her knee like a life line)

This was just supposed to be an hour.

RORY

They love you.

JESS

That's nice, my hands cramping, and people keep trying to hug me.
