Shizuku gritted her teeth as Chris's saber flared to life, coating the area in a green and red light as he shifted his hook back into a pistol-like form, grinning as he narrowed his eyes at her as she clenched her now useless weapons. He took one step forward before a streak of light struck the side of his head, ricocheting off of it into a container behind him as he glanced at the Blue Kampfer who fired it, narrowing her eyes behind her glasses.
"Eager to die, are we?" He hissed as he turned towards Akane, aiming his pistol at the Red Kampfer at his side before pulling the trigger, sending out a pulse that pushed her into, and then through the container with a harsh bang. Chris ducked under the next shot that wouldn't have done anything as he charged at Akane, scraped his saber through the metal of the container next to him before taking a swing at the Blue Kampfer as soon as he was close enough. Akane ducked just in time to avoid his attack, allowing Mikoto to attempt to stab her weapon into his head, only for him to lean back and twist, bringing his pistol up against the small of his back before firing off another pulse, throwing the Red, Blue, and White Kampfers in a perfect line back.
Quickly bouncing off the walls, Kaede brought back her saber and attempted to stab at the Warrior, only for him to bring up his saber and slice its blade off before pistol whipping her to the side. As Sayaka attempted to stab into him herself, he side-stepped out of the way, attempting to stab into her stomach before she narrowly avoided his strike as Kaede got back up and attempted to bury the remainders of her weapon into him. He leaned back and once more brought up his pistol, sending out a pulse to throw the two back, bashing them against the container walls before they fell to the ground.
He would have gone after them before Rika swung her arm around, wrapping the weight of her weapon around his leg before yanking it forward, causing him to lose balance. As he fell back, he quickly sliced the chain off, turning in the air so that he'd land on his shoulder before firing another pulse at them, throwing the entire group away from him as the container walls began buckling. Clanging against another container, Mikoto and Rika slid off the wall, quickly getting to their feet as they brandished their weapons. Shifting his weapon again, Chris pulled back the trigger and launched a barrage of blasts at them. Mikoto quickly began flourishing her sword around herself, summoning its entire length to get as many blasts as she could as Shizuku readied her weapon, throwing it at his legs once more.
In response, Chris brought his saber back, slicing the chain once more before deactivating the heated blades and spun around, trying to keep his gun trained on the larger group as he punched the container next to him. With a loud bang, the container shifted away from him, causing the other end to slam into Shizuku and throw her against another wall. Staggering on her feet, Shizuku quickly jumped back against the container and leapt on top of it as Chris moved in, brandishing his saber once more before a cylinder clanged against the shipping container.
Without even a moment's hesitation, Chris moved towards the grenade lobbed at him and quickly kicked it at the group of Kampfers. Rika quickly whipped her chain up and swatted it above them, exploding above the containers as Chris closed the distance between himself and Mikoto, slicing her sword just above the guard. It sprayed a stream of fire out through the nozzle as she ducked and weaved around his slashes, before Sayaka jumped over them and attempted to stab at his back. The Warrior smirked as he leaned out of the way, and Mikoto narrowly avoided the strike now heading towards her before Sayaka attempted to slash at his throat.
The blade, without its modifications, clanked against his skin as he whipped her with his pistol before leaning his head away from Mikoto's attempt to slam her hilt into his face. He brought his fist up under her arm, bashing the knuckle into Mikoto's side, causing her to fly back as a chain wrapped around his neck. He quickly cut it off before aiming his pistol at Sayaka, who narrowly avoided getting shot as Kaede jumped over the rest of the group and attempted to bring her weapon down through his head.
Instead, he sliced through the remaining blade, and slammed the back of his other arm into her side, pinning her against the container. He brought his blade back, ready to stab into her before a grenade flew past them and erupted in the air, throwing him off of her. His saber stabbed into the ground as he brought up his pistol to attempt to shoot the Blue Kampfer, only for her to jump up the containers with the rest of the group as Kaede brought up the remainders of her weapon and attempted to stab him again. He brought his pistol back and whipped her across the face before aiming at her. Before he could pull the trigger, a chain wrapped around his wrist and yanked his arm up as it tightened, allowing Kaede to bury her electrified weapon into his side.
He gritted his teeth as blood leaked out of the injury before pulling his saber out of the ground, attempting to slash at Kaede before the Moderator ducked under it and brought her head up against his chin. She clutched her aching head as he stumbled back, pulling the blade out of the wound and cutting it further open. Gritting his teeth harder, he charged at the Moderator, only for the brunette to jump up the containers and disappear over the edge.
"Leaving so soon." He asked himself more than anyone as he shifted his weapon and fired a pulse at his feet. Flying up into the air, he shifted his weapon into the grenade launcher form as he looked over the battlefield. With a blink, an indicator lit up at the edge of the warehouse, revealing his cane's location. Profiles of the Kampfers and their weapons' statuses came up as well, and he smirked.
He was back in business.
Landing on top of the container, the first person to great him was Mikoto, swinging her jet of flame at him as if the blade hadn't come off. He batted the first strike to the side, bringing up his gun in an attempt to shoot her before the weight of Rika's weapon struck his arm to the side. Swinging her weapon back, Mikoto brought the jet of flame against his face, causing him to grit his teeth, holding back a scream of pain as his skin burned against the hot metal. He was about to swing his saber at her before a chain wrapped around his other wrist, pulling it back as Rika swung her weapon around and caught his hand.
His arms were pulled out at his sides as Mikoto jumped back away from him before a grenade rolled at his feet. With a loud *BOOM!* it exploded, throwing him over the edge, yanking the chains with him, almost pulling Shizuku and Rika off. Instead, that pleasure went to Chris, as he gripped the chains around his wrists and pulled back. Shizuku, having the line around his robotic arm, teetered the most before going over, and attempted to twist herself in the air to land on her feet as Chris collided with the ground. Pulling up his other arm as Rika slid off, he fired off a pulse, pushing the White Kampfer back up, dragging himself along with it as he pocketed his saber. As Shizuku stood up, Chris gripped the chain around his wrist, sending a surge of electricity down the chain, shocking Shizuku's hands.
Gritting her teeth, she threw the other end of her blade at him as he landed on top of the container again, only for him to whip the chain about before he began swinging it at the group of Kampfers, slicing any grenade coming his way as he peered over the edge, seeing Rika jumping up, brandishing her electrified blade in an attempt to slash him. He leaned back once more and fired off another pulse, throwing her back against the next container with a loud metal clang. He then swung his pistol to his side and sent off another shot at the group of Kampfers, pushing them back again as the chain disappeared in a red glow. As he gave the group chase, he reached into his pocket and produced his saber once more.
Jumping to the ground, Kaede pressed herself against the container, hoping he hadn't noticed her as he moved in to fight the others. The sound of guns and fire rang out above her as she worked her way behind him before Shizuku caught her eye, causing the Moderator to stall. "He's reacting faster, what happened?"
"Remember how he had an AI?" Shizuku asked as she looked between her reformed blades, trying to think of a way to utilize them without the modifications as Kaede nodded. "Well, I had one on me for the past week, wanted to keep it in my sight. Forgot to take it off when we headed out."
"So he's back at full power?!" Kaede asked as another explosion rang out above them, throwing the Blue, Red, and White Kampfers off the container before Chris hopped to the next one, firing off a pulse behind himself. He was thrown through the air back towards the building, away from the group and towards his weapon.
"Do we have a fucking plan or what?" Akane asked over the container as she got up, Kaede already leaving to give the Warrior chase as Shizuku looked back at her weapon.
"We… We need to…" Shizuku began thinking aloud as she looked about the shipping yard before seeing a collection of shipping crates by the water, an idea quickly forming in her mind. "We need to get his weapons away from him, I'll tie him to that crate and we'll drown him."
"Great, how are we going to do that!?" Akane asked, jumping up on top of the container before an explosion sounded. Looking over towards the source of the fireball, the group saw Natsuru and Hitomi, clothes incredibly torn and burned as they launched their elements at the Warrior as he ran around them, aiming his pistol and rifle at the duo as he fired off bursts of plasma.
The Blue and White Kampfer hooked their arm around the other's before firing off a shot, causing the two blasts to mix as they collided with the pavement in front of the Warrior, throwing him back as he kept his weapons trained on the two before Kaede closed in and stabbed her electrified sword through his side, bringing her fist into his face. She quickly pulled it back, clenching her fingers as her knuckles throbbed before he swung his weapon back, whipping her head before aiming his guns at her. Before he could fire, an orange energy ball collided with his chest, throwing him back as Kaede stumbled, trying to stay on her feet as Natsuru and Hitomi approached her side.
"Does this guy even know how to die?" Hitomi growled as she charged two energy shots, letting them get as big as her hands could hold before looking at Natsuru. "Alright, Blue, let's go all out on him."
"B-but we still need him to unlock my bracelet!" Natsuru said, pointing towards the device in question before a red ball of energy collided with the pavement, causing an explosion that threw the three back.
Skidding to a stop at the Blue Kampfer's side, Akane and Mikoto pulled out grenades before biting on the pin. Rika stood over Hitomi, spinning the weight of her chain over her shoulder as Sayaka brandished her sword. When the smoke cleared, Akane and Mikoto threw their grenades towards the fast approaching figure, only for him to shoot the grenades halfway towards him, creating another smoke screen that was quickly lit by a green and red light. Eyes widening, the group jumped out of the way of the incoming slash as Natsuru and Hitomi launched another set of energy balls at him, only for him to slice them all in half, allowing the attacks to fly past him as he traced the retreating Kampfer's with his pistol, firing off shots along the way.
Looking to his side, he quickly swung his blade again, stopping Ryoka in her tracks as she narrowly avoided the attack, ducking under the next set of slashes before jumping away from him, her sash softly clanging to the floor before she pulled up her pistol and pulled the trigger.
The explosion was deafening, and bigger than all the others as it threw Chris in the air, causing him to lose his grip on his saber as he fell to the ground. The golden knuckle clanged on the pavement before the blade went lifeless. As he quickly rolled over onto his side, Shizuku shot out a chain and knocked the knuckle into the air before snaring it, yanking it back towards herself. "Keep his weapons as far away from him as you can!" She called out as Mikoto reformed her blade and Akane reached into one of the pouches.
Chris gritted his teeth as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his pistol as Mikoto moved in. Aiming both his guns at her, his brow twitched before he lashed his pistol to the side, shooting the incoming weight as Hitomi closed in, both hands filled with energy as she attempted to slam them into him, only for the Warrior to duck and weave around her attacks before jumping out of the way of Mikoto's. Akane started searching through her pouches more anxiously, finding most of them empty as the two Kampfers kept slashing at the Warrior, only serving to cast blue and orange light across him before he spun his pistol around again and fired off another pulse, throwing them and an incoming weight back.
"We're running out of weapons!" Akane yelled as she finally found a grenade, throwing it at the Warrior as she summoned her pistol. Rika spun around and attempted to hook the blade of her sickle into him, only for him to catch the chain on his rifle, changing the angle before knocking the incoming grenade towards her. She quickly threw the other end of her weapon at it, knocking it towards the ground before it exploded, blasting the chain apart. Akane started peppering bullets into him, each one simply ricocheting off his skin before he aimed his pistol at her, changing it into a more alien form before pulling the trigger.
Eyes widened, Akane jumped out of the way of the red laser his weapon projected as he ran it along the battle field, the Kampfers he faced either ducking or jumping out of the way. Falling to the pavement, Natsuru brought back both her hands and fired off two shots, only for him to whip his pistol back around and detonate those before they reached him. Natsuru quickly jumped out of the way as Rika reconstructed the chain, Sayaka and Ryoka quickly moving in to help wrestle the rifle from the Warrior's grip.
His hand refused to loosen, however, and he aimed the weapon at the group, shifting it into its grenade launcher form before his eyes widened. Looking to his side, Chris barely dodged an oncoming slash from Mikoto, a trail of fire following her blade before she attempted to bring it back around. He quickly pressed his pistol against her chest as it shifted and fired another pulse, throwing her back as another chain wrapped around his wrist, jerking his arm to the ground, hoping to force him to lose his weapon. Jerking against this, he brought up his rifle again and fired off a red energy pellet.
Hitomi threw her own energy ball at it, causing it to detonate in the air, breaking the chain. Darting forward quickly, she quickly ducked under another shot before grabbing the chain and sending a surge of energy through it. His arm spasmed before tightening as his knees threatened to buckle as Hitomi looked back at her team. "Get the pistol!"
"On it!" Rika called out as she spun her weight before throwing it, knocking the pistol out of his hand, a spark of electricity jumping between the two weapons before Chris grabbed the chain. With a quick yelped, Rika dropped her weapon as Mikoto darted to catch the gun as it shifted back into a hook. Hitomi then straightened her legs and harshly yanked the chain, attempting to pry the rifle out of his grip again as Shizuku's weapon vanished before he flicked his wrist. The sonic screwdriver fell out of his sleeve before he flicked it open and pushed the button.
The battlefield was filled with the deafening cry, causing the Kampfers to drop to their knees, covering their ears while most reached into their pockets. Hitomi grit her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut, trying to continue to send the energy through him as her concentration began to falter. Natsuru and Shizuku, meanwhile, pulled out a set of earplugs and quickly pushed them in. The noise became a loud buzz through the plugs as they got back on their feet, the rest of the Kampfers slowly doing the same as Natsuru charged up a set of energy balls.
With a jerky hand, Chris squeezed onto the trigger of his rifle, sending out a shot at the White Kampfer. She staggered to her side, but was thrown away by the shot's explosion before losing her grip on the chain. As the energy died, Chris shook his head before looking up, seeing Natsuru in the orange glow of her element charging at him before bringing up his rifle. Before he could fire, it was struck my one of Shizuku's knives, throwing his aim off as Natsuru closed the distance between herself and him and attempted to swing down at him. Chris narrowly avoided the attack as he began stepping back, Natsuru's swing becoming more frequent as Shizuku's chain wrapped around the weapon and tried to pry it out of his grip. Avoiding one last attack, Chris brought up his foot and kicked down at Natsuru's ankle, causing the girl to stumble back before he swung his weapon at her, bashing the barrel into the side of her head.
Natsuru lost her grip on the balls of energy, causing them to fall to the ground and explode, throwing Chris back and herself up. Spinning around in the air, Natsuru swung her arms and sent out another set of energy balls, one landing at his side, throwing him into the other. Landing on the pavement, Natsuru quickly brought up her arms and began rapid firing at the Warrior. Chris quickly shifted his weapon into a different form, causing the chain to fall off of it as he opened fire at the incoming projectiles, creating a standoff between the two.
Natsuru gritted her teeth as the rest of her team came up behind her, Akane quickly kneeling down to fire at him, hoping to throw off his aim, as Shizuku began spinning her chains. Natsuru looked about the group, noticing a lack of the White Kampfers before she caught them running along the top of other shipping containers, climbing on top of the warehouse behind Chris. The group smirked as the White Kampfers got into position, Kaede brandishing what little remained of her sword as Rika spun her weapon, throwing the sickle down at the rifle.
Instead, the Warrior skidded back, causing the blade the bury itself in the ground before looking up to see the Moderator jumping down at him. He quickly brought up his rifle, firing at the Moderator as Rika swung her chain about to block the shots as the light of Natsuru's attacks grew closer. Chris stepped out of the way of Kaede, allowing her to bury her weapon into the ground before bashing his weapon into her, causing her to stumble back towards the warehouse before he darted away from the brunette, narrowly avoiding the oncoming energy balls.
Natsuru grit her teeth as she ran forward, throwing an energy ball under her next step, throwing her towards the Warrior as he brought up his rifle, attempting to shoot at the Blue Kampfer before Shizuku's knife came at him. Swinging up his other arm, he caught the blade and quickly spun down the chain, dodging Natsuru's first attack and bringing the chain up into his second. Spinning towards the Blue Kampfer, Chris attempted to stab the blade into Natsuru as she jumped back, throwing a pair of explosions at the Warrior to put as much distance between the two as she could. Thrown back, Chris held up his rifle and turn it into a more shotgun like form before charging at the Kampfer, only for Mikoto's blade to scrap across the top of his shoulder.
Swinging the gun around, Chris let out a shot. The Red Kampfer quickly jumped over it, levering the blade further into his skin as the other end of Shizuku's weapon wrapped around his throat again, only to get shot apart a moment later. Landing in front of the Warrior, Mikoto pulled out her weapon and attempted to land a more fatal blow, failing each time as the Warrior dodged out of the way of each slash and stab as Natsuru and Hitomi closed in. The two Kampfers charged up their attacks and attempted to slam them into Chris, the Warrior just barely dodging those alongside Mikoto's attacks before Natsuru and Hitomi brought their energies together above him.
The explosion threw the Red, White, and Blue Kampfers back, the group panting as they looked up at the smoke cloud as the rest of the Kampfers closed in. Natsuru looked over the group, seeing a blue light in Shizuku's hands as Chris's cane materialized in her grip, causing the Kampfer to smile as she took out her ear plugs. She found that the noise had died as the smoke cleared and Chris staggered to his feet.
"Give up." Natsuru said, charging an energy ball. "We've taken all your weapons, and we have you out numbered."
Wiping away a trail of burning blood on his head, Chris cocked an eyebrow as he clenched his fists. "All of them?"
His right hand sprung open as his nails lit up red, the light trying to escape through the tips of his fingers as he quickly scanned the group, looking for a target before whipping his arm up at Natsuru. With an electric hiss, a trail of red light left his fingers, striking Natsuru in the chest and throwing her back, causing her to drop her energy ball. As it fell, Rika swung her weapon around, attempting to catch Chris's legs before he flicked his wrist, striking the chain and throwing it off course as Mikoto and Kaede charged in. Chris once again clenched his fist before aiming at the two, his knuckles glowing blue before letting out a loud cry. Another pulse shot out, this time without his weapon, throwing the two back as Hitomi and Sayaka charged in.
His hand shot off his wrist, and he whipped it around before throwing the metal blade in his hand to the side, deflecting Shizuku's blade as he bashed the two White Kampfers with an energized knuckle. Akane once again began firing at him fruitlessly, narrowing her eyes at her teammate.
"Why didn't you tell us he could do this shit?!" Akane cried out as Chris reeled in his arm.
"Because he never did this before." Shizuku said, commanding her chain to attack the Warrior, only for him to grip it and rip the chain off. "He must have made some adjustments."
"Oh, fan-fucking-tastic." Akane growled as the White Kampfers got up. Hitomi reached down between herself and Sayaka, grabbing the White Kampfer's sword before standing. The blade crackled with an electric current before Hitomi charged at the Warrior once more.
Once again, he flared his fingers like claws and fired energy beams at the Kampfer, lighting the blade red as she attempted to deflect it before he looked behind him, bringing up the blade to slice through Natsuru's attack. As the halves of energy flew past him, he shot off his hand, grabbing Hitomi by the throat before yanking her, throwing her towards the Blue Kampfer. He once again brought up the knife in his hand to catch Rika's chain, cutting through it before catching the weight and throwing it at the White Kampfer as Mikoto and Kaede closed in.
Hitomi's sword clanked to the ground as she and Natsuru tumbled across the pavement. As Hitomi pushed herself up, Chris brought up his knife to block against one of Mikoto's slashes, only for the blade to begin to disappear after the metals clanged together. Reeling in his fist once more, his knuckles glowed blue as he dodged Kaede's jab, grabbing the girl's shoulder before bringing his glowing fist into the girl's stomach. With a blue shock, the brunette was thrown into the air before Chris reached up and caught Mikoto's katana. Pulling the sword back, Chris brought up his foot and pushed it into Mikoto's stomach, kicking the girl away and causing her to lose her grip on her weapon.
Rolling his neck, Chris threw the flaming blade into his other hand, charging another shot in his knuckles, ready to blast at the white-haired Kampfer. Before he could, though, Shizuku's chains wrapped around his wrist, pulling his fist away from the Red Kampfer before he glared in the chain's direction, bringing up the katana and slashing the chain off. Pulling his fist back, he threw a punch at the air, sending out a shot of blue energy at the three Kampfers.
Each one jumped out of the way, Hitomi charging her sword once more as Natsuru fired blasts at the Warrior. His fingers sprung out, sending an energy blast at each one of them as Hitomi charged in. Sensing this, he prepared his flaming sword to counter, only for Mikoto to wrap her arms around him, pinning his arms in place.
As Hitomi prepared to strike, Chris aimed his fist at the ground beneath him, firing off an energy pulse, throwing himself and Mikoto into the air. As they flew up, Chris opened his fist again, firing bolts of energy at the White Kampfer, knocking the blade out of her hands as one caught the metal. Coming down, Chris brought his head forward before swinging it back, slamming it into Mikoto's before they slammed onto the ground, the white-haired Kampfer taking the blunt of it and losing her grip. Rolling off of the Red Kampfer, Chris got to his feet, ready to slice at her before she closed her eyes tight, pushing herself off the ground as he swung.
The blade vanished in his hands, leaving Chris with the lighter as it spewed flame, catching her uniform on fire as Hitomi and Kaede closed in. His fingers glowed red once more as he prepared to fire off at the two.
Natsuru readied another set of blasts, looking over her shoulder at her raven-haired teammate as she spun her chain, looking for the opportune moment to strike. "Now what do we do?"
"We… We…" Shizuku mumbled before seeing the pink-haired Kampfer prepare to attack the Warrior. Shizuku quickly shot over to her, launching off one of her knifes to catch Rika's sickle before reeling it in. "Rika, your weapon is the only one left that can hurt him, we need to wait for an opening."
"Opening?"
"Wait until he shoots off his hand again, and aim for the cable." Shizuku said as Chris fired off an energy shot, throwing Kaede away from him. He then leaned back out of the way of Hitomi's blasts, weaved between the next two before springing his fingers opened and firing a blast at her before swinging the makeshift flamethrower up to drive Mikoto back.
"They need my help!" Rika said, glaring at the Red Kampfer as she readied her knives.
"And the best way you can help is by making sure you can disarm him." Shizuku argued, throwing her knife at his wrist as he prepared to shoot the Moderator. "I'll try to give you an opening, once you see it," She wrapped the chain around his wrist, yanking it back towards herself, spinning him around. "Take it!"
She quickly jumped at the Warrior, swinging the other end of her weapon in a wide arch before letting it scratch across the back of his neck. Scowling, he brought up his fist and fired off a blue burst into her stomach, throwing her back and yanking the chain apart. He caught the chain as it slipped off his wrist and whipped the knife around, only for Shizuku to roll out of the way as she hit the ground before the blade clanged against it. She stopped just before rolling into a gust of flames as Chris closed in, before the Warrior brought back his fist. Before he could throw the punch, Shizuku braced herself against the ground and brought her legs up, kicking into his chest as he threw it, causing his blast to hit the pavement, throwing Shizuku away from him as he stumbled backwards.
The chain in his hand disappeared before an energy blast collided with his side, causing him to grit his teeth as he looked towards the oncoming barrage of energy blasts from Hitomi. He began walking backwards, weaving between the shots before throwing the flame thrower to the side, knocking away Shizuku's first knife and catching her second. Yanking the chain, he sent an electrical current through it, causing Shizuku to let go before yanking the chain around, finding it too short to slash at Hitomi as it absorbed a few of the shots. He then ducked out of the way of an orange energy shot, looking over to see Natsuru beginning to fire her own barrage at him.
Tightening his grip on the chain, he brought his arm back and ejected his hand, extending the length of his arm as he attempted to swing at the two Kampfers, narrowing his eyes as Shizuku yelled out, "Now!"
Looking to his side, Chris saw Rika bring up her sickle, swinging it in a wide arch over the cable coming from his wrist. As Natsuru and Hitomi jumped out of the way of his slash at them, he let go of the chain and quickly reeled in his hand, pulling his arm down as the electrified blade came in. The blade would have cut through the cable had it made contact, but instead, Chris caught it just below where the metal met the grip and yanked it in.
Panicking, Rika threw the weight of her weapon at the Warrior's head as his hand quickly came in, only for the Warrior to reach up and catch it before it made contact. Looking down at the weapon in his hand, Chris looked up at the Kampfers, finding Rika and Shizuku wearing a worried expression before he lightly threw it into the air and brought back his fist.
Rika tried to pull it back in her weapon, but Chris let out the pulse before she could, blasting the blade away from himself, and breaking all the electrical components off of it. Rika and Shizuku stared on as the batteries, bolts, and tape flew across the pavement, attempting to swallow their worry as Chris's fingers sprung out, leaving a trail of red light.
Chris quickly turned towards the two, firing off beams as the two jumped out of the way. Akane's bullets once again began ricocheting off of his skin as he turned to face her, aiming his fingertips at the red-haired girl before Shizuku's chain wrapped around his wrist, yanking his arm up. Growling, he yanked his arm down, grabbing the chain as Shizuku was pulled in before bringing his left fist into her stomach. His fingers began to glow red again as he stepped towards the fallen Red Kampfer before an energy shot struck him in the back, causing his knees to buckle as he looked over his shoulder at Hitomi, charging another shot before he swung his arm around and fired his bolts of energy at her.
As she was thrown back, Natsuru jumped over her and fired shots to Chris's side. The Warrior's eyes and beams jumped about frantically as he tried to shot them all, before one of them made it past him, landing besides him. The explosion threw the Warrior to his side as the rest of the Kampfers closed in, throwing whatever attacks they could at him.
"So now what's the plan?" Natsuru asked Shizuku as she got up, nervously gripping her chain.
"I-I don't know." Shizuku stated. "That was the last weapon we had that could cut his cable, and if we don't remove his arm, we can't drown him."
Natsuru hummed to herself as she looked over the Kampfers. Mikoto was hanging back, trying to reassemble the flame thrower in vain, Akane and Ryoka were firing off shots at the Warrior as he got up, and Sayaka and Kaede were tightly gripping their swords, or what was left of it in Kaede's case, as Hitomi charged up a set of energy balls.
Natsuru's eyes lit up as she looked at Hitomi, before narrowing as she refined the details and turning to Shizuku. "Shizuku, Rika, you two set up the anchor. Sayaka, give Hitomi your sword. I'll give you guys an opening."
Shizuku was about to ask what Natsuru was planning as the blue-haired girl jumped forward, throwing shots at the Warrior as he got up. He popped his fingers at the approaching blasts, firing beams at them to ignite them before they reached him as Natsuru charged two shots in her hands as big as she could. She quickly began swinging the energy balls at him as he ducked and weaved by them before bringing his fist into the girl's chin. With a loud pulse, Natsuru was thrown into the air before Hitomi came in, swinging an electrified sword at the Warrior, who quickly weaved out of the way of each slash before giving the White Kampfer a metal backhand and firing red beams at the girl to throw her back. As Hitomi was thrown away from him, an orange energy ball landed at his feet, once again throwing him away from the Kampfers.
He landed harshly on a knee, glowing fingers burning into the pavement before looking up at the Blue Kampfer as she closed the distance between herself and him once more. He jumped up to do the same, his fist leaving behind a blue trail of energy as she prepared to bring an energy blast into his head. His fist extended out of his wrist, and his attack connected first, throwing her to the side, causing her to lose her grip on her energy ball. It exploded once it made contact with the pavement, throwing the blue-haired girl to the side before Chris shot out his hand to grab the girl by what remained of her caller.
Spinning around on his foot, he swung Natsuru around and slammed her into a shipping container, producing a hard metal clang before she slid to the ground. Weakly looking up at the Warrior as he approached, Natsuru once again received an uppercut to the chin and was thrown into the air, falling back down on the shipping container's roof as Hitomi closed in, before being blasted away by a shot of blue energy. Losing her grip, Hitomi found her sword flying out of her hand as Chris looked up to where Natsuru landed, before aiming at the pavement and firing off a shot, throwing himself into the air.
Natsuru tried to roll onto her side before Chris landed in front of her. The rogue Kampfer pressed his foot onto her shoulder and rolled her onto her back, before bringing back his hand. His fingers sprung out and glowed red once more as he gritted his teeth, before Natsuru weakly raised her hand to him.
"Please…" Natsuru began, struggling to keep her arm up as the cold air tickled against her skin. "If I'm going to die… At least let me die as… Me, okay?" The Warrior cocked an eyebrow as Natsuru's arm fell over her stomach, her eyes barely opened as she explained. "Undo whatever… Whatever you did to my bracelet… Let me die as my human self."
"The deal," He began, leaning in towards the blue-haired girl. "Was you beat me, I unlock your transformation. I'm still standing."
"Please…" Natsuru muttered weakly, eyes rolling to the side as she tried to lift her hand again. It fell to her side, causing the container to clang lightly as her hand hung off the side. "Don't let me die… As someone I'm not…"
Chris's eyes rolled about in his head as he thought over what the girl was requesting. Nearly every part of his mind was yelling at him to kill her now, just end her then and there. But something in his head told him to take pity on the girl. Straightening himself, Chris flicked his left wrist, allowing the sonic device to fall out of his sleeve before holding it up to his face, staring at the metal intently.
"You fought valiantly." He said as the base began spinning. Once it set itself, Chris flicked the screwdriver open as aimed at the girl's bracelet, producing a green light and a whistling buzzing as he did so. The bracelet glowed blue, quickly growing more and more intent before the light spread across Natsuru's entire body. Once the light died, Natsuru lied across the container's roof in his human form as Chris dropped the sonic back into his sleeve.
"Now then." Chris began as he once more brought back his right hand, allowing his fingers to glow bright as he leaned towards Natsuru. "Any last words? I'll want something to remember you by."
"Yeah…" Natsuru said, filled with a sense of joy upon hearing his male voice before looking over the side of the crate, down at the White Kampfer as she readied her sword. Acting fast, Natsuru grabbed the caller of Chris's shirt, bringing his forehead into the Warrior's nose as hard and fast as he could. As Chris stumbled back, Natsuru looked back over the Kampfers, yelling, "NOW!"
"Wha-" Chris began saying before Hitomi darted up to him, quickly swinging the electrified sword and slicing his mechanical hand off its wrist before a set of chains wrapped around his torso. He was quickly pulled off of the container, slamming onto the pavement as he was dragged over to Shizuku and Rika, their chains breaking in and out of a container by the edge of the dock, the chains between him and the metal growing shorter.
Chris struggled against his chains. Trying to worm his way out of them as Natsuru jumped off the container, turning back into his Kampfer form as she fell. She quickly covered the distance between herself and the Warrior with Hitomi as Shizuku and Rika jumped away from him. He tried to narrow his eyes at everyone before seeing Natsuru and Hitomi charging a set of energy balls, coming in with intent in there eyes.
"No, no!" He cried out as Natsuru and Hitomi fired their shots, the orange and blue energies collided with each other just before the container, producing large explosions that threw the container over the edge. The slack of the chain quickly faded as Chris tried to climb to his feet before he was yanked off the edge. He tried to dig his fingers into the pavement, gripping onto the ledge as he was pulled off, but found his grip quickly fade as he was pulled into the water.
A series of bubbles floated up and popped at the water's surface as Natsuru and Hitomi peered over the ledge, panting as the adrenaline began to wear off as the rest of the Kampfers approached behind them. After a few moments, the bubbles stopped coming up, and the water began to calm. The group looked between themselves, letting what had just happened sink in before they exchanged smiles.
They had won.
"See." Mikoto panted as she brought her arm around Akane's shoulder, the red-haired girl merely huffing at the Red Kampfer. "I told you we had this."
"So you were right for once." Akane began before glaring at the white-haired girl. "That doesn't mean you don't fucking annoy me."
"Love you too!" Mikoto giggled as Akane was enveloped in a blue light, her human form taking her place before readjusting her glasses.
"We should Pro…" Shizuku began panting, glancing over the edge before glancing back at Rika. "Probably stay in Kampfer form for a while, just to make sure he drowns."
"No… Arguments… Here." Rika said, taking a breath for each word. "Changing back… Is too much work… For me right now…" She leaned onto her knees, suppressing the urge to vomit.
"So… Now what?" Kaede panted as she looked between the group as most of the Kampfers began to change back.
It was at this point that the sound of sirens made itself known to the group.
"I say we avoid getting arrested!" Mikoto yelled out, quickly turning back into Kampfer form as she ran in a random direction, the rest of the group quickly following.
"God…" Natsuru sighed as he collided with the hotel bed, feeling his spine cry out in satisfaction as he took in slow breaths. "I haven't felt this tired… Every."
"Tell me about it." Mikoto sighed she and Akane sat on the next bed over, glancing at the clock to see it was half past midnight already. "We've never done this much this late."
"And I look forward to never having to do so again." Shizuku said through the doorway, glancing over her shoulder at the Moderator before turning to her. Shizuku took in a sharp breath before sighing, lowing her head before locking eyes with Kaede. "Look, Kaede, what if-"
"I'm calling a cease-fire for the rest of the week." Shizuku's eyes widened as Kaede made the request she was going to in a single, simple sentence. "We've just had the fight of our lives and I think both groups have had enough fighting for now." Kaede let out one last breath before extending her hand to the Red Kampfer. "We won't attack you if you don't attack us."
"Deal." Shizuku didn't even need to hesitate as she extended her arm to meet the Moderator's, her red bracelet catching the light before she pulled Kaede in close, pressing her forehead into the brunette's. "But once that week is over, I'm not going to rest until you, and this whole war business, is stopped."
"Didn't expect any different." Kaede stated, narrowing her eyes with Shizuku's before the two stepped away from each other. "Well then, I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight, Sango." Kaede said, waving over her shoulder as she walked back to her room.
"Goodnight, Sakura." Shizuku responded, joking in the back of her head that Kaede and the White Kampfers wouldn't be getting much sleep as she stepped back into her room with the rebels, finding Mikoto pressing herself against Natsuru's shoulder, saying something about cuddles.
"Guys, can't we take a break from this for one night? I'm too exhausted for this." Natsuru sighed as Akane was blushing on her bed.
'Then again, if I play my cards right, I won't be either.' Shizuku joked to herself as she pulled the door closed behind her.
The Warrior's lungs were already burning by the time the container had hit the bottom of the peer, and his eyes burned with them as salt water pushed its way into them. His hat slowly floated down next to him as he struggled against the chains once more, a trail of bubbles pushing their way out from his nose and lips as he looked down at the chains around his torso. Scowling, either from pain or annoyance, he flicked his wrist once more. The screwdriver fell out slowly, but he had a grip on it as he pointed it towards the chains and commanded it into a new setting. He pressed down on the button, producing a high pitched cry muffled by the water.
A series of bubbles rose of from the chain's link as he pressed the glowing bulb against it, before finally his screwdriver slid to the other side of the link and then through that. Jerking himself around as his lungs began to scream out in agony, he pressed the bulb against the second chain, cutting through it quickly. The chains around him loosened, and he quickly pushed them off of himself, reaching into his jacket before pulling out a small mask. He bit into the nub coming out of the front, pressing his nose into place before pushing out the water and pulling in a desperate, greedy breath.
His breathing steadied as he looked up to the water's surface, shaking the idea away before swimming towards the bottom of the peer, looking around the concrete wall before finding what he was looking for. He pressed his hand onto the wall, pressing in a button, causing the plates to move out before the portal opened. Not wasting any time, he swam through the gateway with difficulty, before quickly pushing himself up to the water surface.
He was once more in his lab, wet and tired, but alive.
Oh my god, finally. The whole time I was writing this, I just kept thinking to myself, 'find a way to end this already.' Even I got tired of all this.
With that said, we finally finished the first act of The First Kampfer. I like to think I did a pretty good job fixing the problems it had and setting some stuff up for act two. I hope you've all enjoyed this, because next time, we get back to the second act. Hopefully, I won't need to edit what I already have so drastically like I did here.
