Chapter 10

The next thing that Marie knew, she was waking up in the passenger seat of a car. She was groggy and her head hurt. "Where am I?" She tried to look around and she couldn't see anything. "Why am I blindfolded?"

"Leave it on. you will know everything soon enough."

"Who are you? Why did you take me?"

"My name is Mike. I am doing a favor for a friend. He couldn't step foot in the school. So he asked me to get you. Your cousin knows me."
"How is that supposed to make me feel better?! I don't care if you know my cousin! You need to let me go now!" Marie screamed, tears rolling down her face. She just wanted to see Jacob. Mike just stayed quiet. After what seemed like forever, Mike stopped the truck. Marie heard the door open and then close. She heard yelling and her door opened.

"Why the HELL did you hit her and blindfold her?! We told you to pick her up from school, not KIDNAP HER!" It was Bella. Bella ripped off the blindfold and Marie collapsed in her arms, crying. "Are you okay Marie?"

"My head hurts." she said between sobs.

"Mike, what the hell were you thinking?" Edward said, with a low growl.

"I guess I misunderstood what you said." He said with a laugh. "Come on. I was just having a little fun."
"Do you realize who her boyfriend is? Her boyfriend is Jacob Black, and her uncle is Chief Swan. You just put yourself in a bad situation."

After about 15 minutes of Carlisle taking care of Marie, Bella's phone rang.

"Hello? Hi Jacob. Yes I have her. I was going to have one of my friends pick her up from school and he basically kidnapped her."

"HE WHAT!? WHERE ARE YOU?!" Everyone could hear him scream over the phone. Bella told him they were at Edward's and that Carlisle said that it was okay for him to come over. it seemed like two minutes and he was at the door.

"Marie?" She jumped up and flew into his arms. "I thought I lost you." He whispered in her ear. "Where is he." Jacob said to the room.

"He left, Jacob. It was Mike Newton. We are going to report it to Charlie too. He won't get away with what he did to her." Edward whispered.

"Why do you care, you filthy bloodsucker." Jacob spat.

"Jacob!" Bella and Marie said in unison.

"Its okay, love. Jacob, I care because Marie is Bella's cousin. No matter what, we will protect her, along side you and your pack. She is like a little sister to us. We will treat her as such." Edward said, looking Jacob straight into his eyes. Jacob got up off the couch and walked over to Edward.

"Thank you." he said, shaking Edward's hand. "Now, I think its time to get Charlie involved."

As the girls and Jacob walked through the door to Charlie's house, they heard him on the phone.

"Yes, yes I need you to arrest him at his house. I'll meet you at the station." He hung up the phone and put his head in his hands.

"Unki Cha?" Marie whispered.

"Oh my god Marie!" He ran up to her. "Are you okay?" He said as he checked her head.

"I'm okay. Just really shaken up. Is it okay if Jakey spends the night? I don't feel comfortable without him here..."

"Of course princess. Anything. Listen, I have to go into the station to book Mike. Tomorrow, we will probably need interviews from everyone, including Edward. He is going to go to jail for kidnapping you, Marie."

As he said goodbye, Bella went into the kitchen to make something to eat. Marie and Jacob sat on the couch in the living room.

"Are you okay, Marie?" He asked, a concern look on his face.

"I'm okay. Please stop asking me that question. I am okay now that you are here protecting me."

"I'll never leave unless you order me away."

"Why would do that? I will always want you here."

"Good." He replied, putting his arm around her. She looked up and he smiled down at her. She fell asleep.
