Chapter 10

Kendall kept a close eye on his weak best friend to make sure he kept breathing. He very gently extended his hand to check his fever. Logan was glowing a little less, but Kendall knew his fever was still high. Kendall was lost in his own thoughts for a moment and ended up gently caressing Logan's cheek and running a soft hand through his raven black hair. Tears were spilling out of his green eyes.

"Oh God, Logie. I thought I lost you," he said softly sobbing. "You're so sick. Why did you do that, Logie? Why did you have to eat these damn mushrooms? You could have been killed, you know. We can't lose you, Logan. We need you and we love you to death, brother. Can you hear me at all, Logie?"

Logan's breath hitched and Kendall sat up straight away his heart hammering wildly in his chest. Carlos and James grabbed a hold of one another. Logan's eyes fluttered open as he desperately gasped for air.

"It's okay. Calm down, Loges. Take it easy. You need to breathe in slowly and breathe out again," Kendall tried to sooth him.

Logan had a look of panic in his eyes, but nevertheless listened to his friend. Kendall wrapped his arm around Logan's small frame and hugged him close. Logan was breathing fairly normal again by now.

"Ken … dall," he said hoarsely. "Thanks!"

"You're welcome, bud," Kendall repeated.

"You … saved … me," Logan said weakly.

"Yes, now shush," Kendall said softly. "You need to spare your strength."

Logan weakly smiled. Kendall looked at his very sick friend who was still lying in his arms.

"Will … I …be …okay?" Logan managed to get out tears were welling up in his dark eyes.

"I honestly don't know, Logan," Kendall admitted. "You're very weak and your fever is still way too high. We're doing everything we can to get your fever down. But I do think you need medical help as soon as possible."

"Am .. I-I-I … g-g-going … to …d-d-die?" Logan asked as tears were now making their way down his pale cheeks.

"I don't know," Kendall admitted swallowing. "We'll do everything we possibly can to help you."

"I-I'm s-s-so s-s-scared," Logan said.

"I know, Logie. I know," Kendall tried to comfort him. "We'll be here for you, okay. We'll do everything we can to save you and get you off this island as soon as we can."

Logan nodded his head and Kendall pulled him in even closer. Logan was crying by now and Kendall merely held him close.

"If I d-d-die," Logan started, "will you tell my family that I loved them. And I love you guys too."

"I will, but you will be able to tell them that yourself, Logan," Kendall answered. "You need to believe that, okay."

"We love you too, bud," James said.

"Yeah and we'll take good care of you, Logie," Carlos went on.

Logan weakly smiled.

"Kendall, y-y-you need t-to t-t-tell Cami th-that I l-l-love h-h-her to d-d-death," he said.

"I'm sure she knows that, Logan," Kendall said. "And she loves you very much too! Jo told me that. She is so crazy about you. She already dreams of marrying you some day and have kids. Heck, she is already making lists with baby names."

It suddenly dawned on all of the boys.

"Logie, you and Cami didn't … Did you?" James asked frantically.

"No," Logan answered straight away. "I'm not ready for that. I'm too scared."

The boys all let out a breath they didn't know they were holding.

"She did try once," he admitted blushing slightly.

The boys' eyes all went big.

"We w-w-were a-a-alone and s-s-she k-k-kissed me," he needed to stop to take a breath. "A-a-and th-th-then sh-she s-s-started to u-u-unbutton m-my s-s-shirt."

"And you freaked out, no doubt," Kendall said smiling softly.

Logan gently nodded his head in agreement and blushed even more.

"I f-f-fell d-d-down f-f-from the c-c-couch," Logan admitted.

Kendall, James and Carlos all chuckled. That was their Logan, alright. He panicked real easily and they could imagine the wild Camille attacking their friend.

"It's okay, buddy," Kendall said. "You don't need to do anything you don't want too. You still have plenty of time. She knows you love her and she'll wait for you."

"I m-m-miss h-h-her," Logan said softly.

"You'll soon see her again, Loges. I promise you that," Kendall said. "We'll try and get you out of here as soon as we can."

"Thanks," Logan said.

"We love you, Logie," Kendall said while James and Carlos eagerly nodded their heads. "We never ever want to lose you and we'll do everything we possibly can to keep you safe."
