Jane was really worried about Jethro. Two hours had passed and he still hadn't come back inside. She knew that LJ Moore and him needed each other right now but it was unlike him to be out this long. She remembered how hard it was after her dad died. At least she had been with him until the very end. Jethro hadn't even gotten a chance to say a last goodbye to his dad. Maybe that was for the bes in this situation. Even though Jack was much more emotional than Jethro. Jane didn't think he was much better at emotional situations than his son. She was just about to go check on things outside. When she heard footsteps on the wooden floors.
"Sorry I walked LJ home." Gibbs explained.
"How are you?" Jane asked.
"I don't know." Gibbs replied.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jane offered.
"I've talked about enough." Gibbs replied collapsing on to the bed.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Jane asked.
"There is one thing." Gibbs replied.
"Of course anything." Jane replied.
"This is probably wildly inappropriate to do in my dad's house the night he died but I want to have sex." Gibbs replied.
"If that's what you want." Jane replied.
Robby saved his homework assignment but remained sitting at his desk. He was exhausted but doubted he would be able to sleep. Even with Leon Vance right down the street. He doubted he would be able to sleep. He had watched the kids overnight before. Once when Gibbs and Jane were on their honeymoon and once in January. When McGee was out-of-town for work and Abby had a false labor. This was different though. This wasn't knowing his mom and step-dad were off having fun or caring for a person who was basically another step-sister. This was because somebody had died. He had only met Jack twice but he was a great guy. Robby had always liked the idea of living in a small town. Especially one like Stillwater that didn't have a therapist. He was lost in thought when he heard a knocking at his door.
"Come in!" Robby called.
"Robby?" Liz called.
"What is it Lizzie?" Robby asked.
"I'm going to miss grandpa Jack." Liz replied.
"We all will Lizzie." Robby replied.
"Is Gibbs going to be OK?" Lizzie asked.
"Well remember when your parents died. It was really tough at first but with time it got easier?" Robby asked.
"Yeah I still miss them." Liz replied.
"I still miss my dad and he's been dead fifteen years. Anyway that's how it's going to be with Gibbs." Robby explained.
"OK" Liz replied.
"Are you ready to go back to bed?" Gibbs asked.
"Yes" Liz replied.
Gibbs held Jane in his arms. He felt completely lost knowing that his dad was gone but at least he had her to keep him together. He remembered how surprised Jack was to learn that they were engaged. Naturally he was supportive just surprised. Jack had told him that he always pictured him ending up like he did. A few long-term relationships but never anything to special. At least Jack and Anne were finally back together. Until a year ago. Gibbs hoped everyday that he would be with Shannon again. Now he just wanted to be with his wife and children. He gently ran his hand through Jane's red hair. He wondered how he had gotten so lucky. He buried his face in Jane's hair and cried himself to sleep.
"You'll be alright Jethro." Jane whispered gripping his arm.
Robby was nervous about making the drive to Stillwater. McGee offered to drive him and the kids up along with Abby. Since Abby was on leave from work she wanted to spend as much time as possible with Gibbs. He would drive back up with Ducky and Jimmy the day before the funeral and drive back the next day. Abby rested her hand on her swollen stomach and let out a groan of pain.
"Are you OK Abby?" McGee asked.
"I oh think it's oh another false labor." Abby moaned,
"Do you want to stay? I can drop you off with Ducky real quick on the way out-of-town." McGee offered.
"No I need to be there for Gibbs." Abby replied.
"Well if you're sure let's get going. Has everybody been to the bathroom?" McGee asked.
"I need to!" Abby cried.
"Anybody else need to go?" McGee asked.
"Nope" Robby replied.
"I'm good." Maddy added.
"Same" Sydney replied.
"No" Liz said.
"No" JL said.
"Alright well then let's go." McGee replied.
The McGee's and Gibbs children headed towards Stillwater. Abby was resting in the passenger seat well trying to anyway. Robby was studying for a test. Even though his teachers were very understanding and told him he didn't have to make up his work right away. Senior year was the wrong year to let himself fall behind. Maddie was texting a friend attempting to post-pone their weekend plans, Sydney and Liz were playing a game, and JL was just looking at the window.
"Oh No!" Abby cried.
"What's wrong?" McGee asked.
"I wet myself." Abby replied shyly.
"HOLY CRAP! ABBY!" McGee yelled looking down at Abby's wet pants.
"I'm sorry Timmy! Aghhh! Ohhh! The babies are really active and my bladder is their toy apparently!" Abby cried.
"No Abby that's not pee. Your water broke. We need to get you to the hospital." McGee replied.
"Oh My God your right! I was sure it was false labor!" Abby cried.
Gibbs sat at his dad's kitchen table and arranged the funeral. Jane walked in and put one of the casseroles somebody from town had dropped off in the oven. For a minute he was confused about her putting a quick dinner in so early. Until he saw that it was nearly six o'clock. His heart began to race in his chest. They should have been here by now. He remembered the day Breena died. Everybody was waiting for news on the baby. When they got the call that she was dead. He couldn't cope if he lost any of them ever but the day after his dad. That would just be cruel. His phone rang and he slowly pressed answer and raised it to his head. Fearing the worst.
"Gibbs?"
"Robby what's wrong? You're out of breath."
"We're at the hospital. Vance is driving up to take us the rest of the way."
"What happened to Abby and McGee? Where are you?"
"Not that far. We are in York Pennsylvania."
"Why are you at the hospital?!"
"The twins were born"
"What?"
"Abby had the babies."
"She's only eight months. How are they?"
"It is normal for twins to come a little early and everybody is doing great. I'm going to put Tim on OK?"
"Of course."
"Hi Boss."
"I want details Tim."
"The girl is named Katelyn Cheyenne she weighs five pounds nine ounces and the boy is named Brayden Anthony he weighs five pounds three ounces. They are so cute boss. They are like tiny Abby's."
"Congratulations Tim."
Gibbs hung up the phone and went off to find Jane. Twenty-four hours ago he was still trying to process that his father was dead. Today he was a grandfather Abby and McGee had two beautiful babies that he could not wait to meet.
A/N: At least Gibbs has good news now. New chapter will be up soon. Please review and thanks for reading.
