Robert's POV (Sorry I was traveling to Georgia and my insane grandma won't let me on her computer so I had to use my brother's and I only have an hour so sorry if this is rushed!)
I sat waiting for the two weirdos and Tris to come back.
"So what is Dauntless cake anyways?" I ask Lauren who had resumed sitting on my lap facing me.
"It is like..." She thought for a moment. She tucked a long strand of dark red hair behind her ear (Can't remember what color hair she had so bleh) "Heaven on earth. But better. What is the best thing to eat in Amity?"
"We have cinnamon rolls with icing every Sunday. They are the best things ever!" I tell her.
"I've never actually had a cinnamon roll... I guess it really isn't a Dauntless food. Well Dauntless cake is like warm, gooey chocolate goodness that fills you with this feeling of warmth and delight. It also has just a like a quarter cup of dark chocolate chips for every 2 cakes so when you get a bit it surprises you in a pleasant way. It adds this wonderful richness to the cake." Lauren describes. I feel my mouth start to water at the sound of it.
"Wow... Do you have the recipe?" I ask hoping I can take it back with me and bake it for like weddings and stuff. I was a planner at Amity. Lots of couples from other factions come to Amity to have weddings and such. Sometimes the richer people even have their kid's birthday parties their. Since I often did a lot of the food preparations for these parties I could give Dauntless cake for an extra 30 bucks. I'm not in Abnegation for a reason people!
"No one does! Only the kitchen staff and they aren't allowed to give it to us! They are incorruptible too! Uriah tried to charm one of the girls there and failed. He is rather charming when he tries to be." Lauren tells me.
"Wow. The great Uriah failed. But I am an Amity boy, I can slap on a fake country twang, use some eyeliner to make my freckles darker, show of my dimples and act aloof and they'll be smitten easily! And I'll put on a plaid button up but leave it unbuttoned." I explain. I reach over to my pack and grab the shirt that I was describing. I take off my shirt since I had put it back on and threw the new shirt on leaving the buttons alone.
Lauren nodded grinning. "Very nice. Do you think if I braid my hair, put some fake freckles on, smile more and where a shirt like your's we can convince them I am Amity too?" She joked.
I looked at her up and down, she was soft without being too soft just like Amity girls. "You are built like an Amity girl but you aren't tan enough. I'm sure Marlene will let you borrow her spray on tan. What brand does she even use?"
Marlene frowned at me ending her chatter with Christina. "How did you know my tan is fake?"
"You are Dauntless you aren't in the sunshine much. I wouldn't of been able to tell if you had bothered to spray your feet properly but you obviously were wearing sneakers or socks when you did it and ignored them." I explain to her.
"JEEZ YOU ARE SMART AND OBSERVANT!" Marlene yelped. I smirk.
"Yes, yes I am." I laugh.
Lauren scowls slightly at Marlene. "Thanks for giving him a big head!"
"I already had a big head she just made it bigger." I tell her smirking. "So we going to Amitify you then charm both gender of cooks into giving us the Dauntless cake recipe, or what?"
"Let's do it. Marlene get your spray tan and lets tan me!" Lauren laughs. Marlene runs off to her room to grab it and Uriah, Zeke and Tris come back with the cake.
"We must give him the cake!" Uriah then takes a large heaping slice and hands it to me. "Eat it."
I sniff it cautiously. "EAT THE DAMN CAKE ROB!" Tris screams at me. I flinch and shove the entire slice into my face.
"HAHAHAHAHAAAH!" Uriah howls. Then comes over takes his hand to my face, wipes about half my face and licks his hand. "Delicious." He offers his cake slathered hand to me. "Want a bite?" I shake my head and wipe some off the other half of my face.
I eat a bit and my eyes go wide. It was amazing. Warm and gooey and the perfect mixture of melted chocolate and cake.
"OH MY FUDGING GOD THIS IS AMAZING!" I yell. I grab the cake from Tris and plunge my fork into it and eat about half.
After I finish Tris looks at me. "You should probably take a shower, you got cake in your hair." I nod and look to Zeke.
"Second door on your left. Use any towel." He says pointing to a hall. I take a quick shower and get dressed in my 'cute country Amity boy' costume and walk out. I had used the eyeliner Christina had given me before I had gotten in to darken my freckles.
"Do I look like a cute country boy?" I ask doing a spin. I cough a bit and then put the twang into my voice. "Do I look like a adorable county boy?" I flash a dorky smile.
"Very much so! Let's Amityify me too!" Lauren giggles. Marlene helps her put on the tan. I turn to Marlene, she was an expert in fashion just like Christina.
"Can you buy a blue plaid shirt and a pretty black bra or bikini top, then buy a pair of faded blue jeans or something like that and cut them off so they are really short booty shorts." I ask her. Marlene nods and rushes off and comes back with a bag from Goodwill, and a bag from Dauntless Lingerie. After the tan sets and she rinsed. Lauren gets dressed in her new clothes and Christina walks over to her and starts brushing her hair.
Kneeling in front of Lauren eyeliner in hand I begin with her new freckles. She had already wiped off all her make up. I drew on some darker ones on her cheekbones and nose and some lighter ones all over her face. Then with Christina's make up bag beside me I find a light pink lipgloss, I spread it across her lips and she rubs them together. They are now a shiny shade of pink that sets her blue eyes off perfectly. I grab some blush and just do a little bit over the cheek bones. I put some brown eyeliner on her and a bit of mascara on her eyelashes. I stand back and admire my work, beautiful.
Christina ties off the braid she was working on. I hand Lauren a mirror and she yelps.
"You know I was expecting a mess of color on my face but I look gorgeous! Just like a true Amity girl!" Lauren giggles. "How can you do make up so well Robert?"
"I'm Amity, I am naturally artistic and stuff. My friend Nancy taught me the basics of makeup because of my job as a wedding specialist and how important it was that the eyeshadow and flowers don't clash! I just picked on it really well and stuff." I explain.
"Okay! I look really pretty!" Lauren smiled at me. "Nice work."
Marlene and Christina came round to get a good look at her. "Nice Robbie!" Marlene laughed. "She can definitely get some charming done looking like that. Just fake a country twang and you'll be perfect."
Lauren coughed a bit. "Does this sound right?"
"It is more southern but should work." I say shrugging. "Let's go charms some Dauntless chefs." Lauren nods seriously and ties the ends of her blue plaid shirt together near her belly button and rolled up the sleeves.
Everyone followed, probably to watch through the wide window where the food was served through. We swung the doors right over and marched ourselves in.
"YOU AREN'T..." The head chef was a sever looking man but the moment he laid eyes on Lauren he shut up. "You must be from Amity. Welcome to Dauntless I am Chef Brandon and you two are?"
Lauren did the smart thing and used a fake name. "My name is Jeanelle! This here is my buddy Robbie!" Lauren smiled widely.
"Nice to meet you Jeanelle, what would you like to eat?" He smiled at her broadly his eyes struggling to stay on hers. All the girl's younger and older were staring at me and a couple boys when one caught the other he smacked him
"Vexen you're dating me!" He protested.
"Shut up Nolan you were staring too!" Vexen said back.
"Hi my name's Robbie!" I put on a dorky sort of aloof smile.
"Nice to me me meet you... I'm.. I'm... I'm Bailey..." Bailey giggled in a way not proper Dauntless should ever giggle. No Dauntless should ever stutter because of someone hot but that didn't stop them
"Nice to meet you Bay lee!" I laughed. "Did you know you're real pretty when you go all pink like that?" At that Bailey blushed even more.
"Thank... thank... thank you." She stammered. I walked over to her and picked her up in a hug and twirled her around.
"I wish you could come back to Amity with me and we could be cuddle buddies!" I say into her ear. She starts to squirm and I set her down. "You sure are mighty pretty." I say wistfully.
"Uh... I live here... I am Dauntless not Amity... Yeah... sorry..." Bailey murmurs.
"Awh man!" I sigh softly. "Real shame though. But I have to fight all the boys that come after Jeanelle with a stick already! I don't need to dolls to protect." I laugh then.
Bailey nods. Lauren juts in then, she had been flirting with all the boys. "If we brought you back I'd have to share my Robbie!" She threw and arm around me and kissed me. "I wouldn't mind if you weren't so pretty! He might just forget all 'bout me and just have you!"
"I'd never do that! But can't we get another cuddle buddy? I want 2 beautys to snuggle with." I say playfully.
Lauren pouts. "I ain't enough?"
"Sure ya are! Just two would be mighty fine!" I laugh. "We could even have four! You could pick someone out and we could just have one big cuddle fest." I joke.
It wasn't uncommon for the Amity to have polyamorous relationships, we believed as long as you loved someone you should be with them, whether you have 1 lover, 2 lovers some have as many as 3. We accept gay and lesbian relationships like they were any other. Honestly that is why I personally thing Amity is the best faction.
"Well we are still hungry. What kinda sweets do ya got?" Lauren asks Brandon.
"I think you'd like Dauntless cake most!" He whips out a slice and hands it to her. She takes the fork and takes a small bite then takes a bit and feeds it to me.
"This is yummy!" I say and take another bite. Lauren giggles in true Amity girl fashion.
"I know!" She takes a large bite for herself and soon we've polished off the piece. Lauren then goes back to Brandon and hugs him close.
"Thanks so much! You are really hunky for a chef you know." She squeezes his bicep and he grins.
"Why thank you Jeanelle." He says.
"Jeanelle know what?!" I ask excitedly.
"What Robbie?!" She answers just as excitedly.
"We need to be able to bake this cake back home!" I yell pointing to the cake. Brandon frowns a bit.
"We arent allowed to..." He is cut off when Lauren kisses him.
"Pretty please Brandy?" She asks looking into his eyes. "I'll give you more kisses!"
Brandon looked stunned and shrugged. "Bailey get the recipe for them." Bailey hurries off and gives it to me. I kiss her on the lips as a thank you.
"Um... thanks!" Bailey giggles. Lauren was showering Brandon with kisses and pulled away suddenly.
"By golly thanks for that!" Lauren giggled then hooked arms with me. "Now we got a party to get back to! See yall round sometime!" With that Lauren and I walked arm and arm out of the kitchen
And that was Robert's first experience with Dauntless cake. I'll update at 210!
