Author's Notes: To make up for the extensive wait, this large chapter will conclude the struggle between Cure Magia and Bad End Peace...with a twist that will no doubt incur IMMENSE backlash. (My mind and body are so ready!)

Reviewer: Isabel (Q-1)-Is Cure Echo going to make some kind of appearance? Or even a simple cameo?
(A-1) To be honest, she never occurred to me...mainly because she is such a forgettable movie-exclu-*Get shot* I can potentially add her into this fanfic, but given the current timeline in comparison to the TV show and New Stage 1, it is far too early. Thus, I will need to get my grey cells running and come up with a plausible explanation. Of course, that leaves Fusion - how am I gonna add him? And which version?! The choices... (X_X)

Reviewer: ShugoYuuki123 (Q-2)-Whoa, cool! Are you going to make a movie sequel after this?
(A-2) Hard to say, it'll take a miracle to finish this and begin a movie-formatted sequel. However IF, and only IF, I manage to complete this fanfic, the sequel would be All-Stars based. The time and setting, though, well...I'll let the audience speculate. With a cold, cold heart like mine, it would have to be the perfect eve of happiness to usher in an era of despair. Amirite? ;-D

Thank you for providing a review, Kadaj5! Shame about the constant errors in grammar and spelling, though. Wish I had a better eye for these things. :-(
Thank you to MonoTheMonochrome, also!

If any of you have questions, just ask away! (Hard to believe I uploaded this chapter on April Fools 1st of all days...)

Welp, time to read on, folks! This is the chapter that will close the loop!
Ready?!
GO! ! !

~UNLIMITED MAGIC~

The yellow eyes of evil's pawn were unhealthily dull, a hollow gaze unlike that of a savage beast's own. «"Yayoi-san...don't give up."» A pitiful heart eroded by artificial love, chains of servitude bewitched, was witnessed by she with mastery over mystic arts. «"Don't let the darkness win..."» A mental train crossing the boundaries of the mind, a wonder if foe's defeat would truly bring about the return of innocence, free of filthy taint. There was no turning back, the circumstance a risk too much to ignore. «"I've never fought one-on-one against a Pretty Cure before, especially a CORRUPTED Pretty Cure, but I don't have to second-guess that Yayoi's sudden burst of magic is gonna make things worse. I can practically feel it crawling up my skin!"» She weighed her options, many analysed and rejected, a process to narrow until one final solution remained. «"In that case, I'll have to make this quick!"»

At the ready, Cure Magia launched herself forward, the first to dash for success as she reared back a fist coated in radiating warmth, a mighty flame to cleanse the soul before the gap between them ceased to exist. The enemy stood in wait, seemingly taken aback by Magia's initiative - this was exactly what the latter hoped. "=BLAST~CALIBRE!="

"METEOR...CLEANSE! !" Upon Magia's deafening cry, past cold vapour did the burning fires of passion eventually swipe humanity's foe, securing the role as victor and the life of a worthy comrade.

If only it was so easy - Bad End Peace inexplicably vanished, gone in a flash.

An electric arc spotted out the corner of her eye prompted immediate action, turning just in time to intercept a fatal punch. However, much to her disbelief, the force alone was enough to propel Cure Magia back, her balance subsequently lost, but recovered accordingly. "How did she- GYAA?!" Blocking another vicious blow, the third attempt was instinctively evaded before fighting back in retaliation, returning the favour with a volley of magic-imbued fists. Magia sought to at least knock some sense into Yayoi, but when not a single attack made their impact, she resorted to a flaming kick, delivering swift and sure to where knowledge resided.

"VOLCANIC...KICK STRIIIIKE! !" Despite the superiority that was Magia's skills, it too, failed to wash away the black stain in Bad End Peace's heart, for she took but a step back, a joyous skip away from reckless behaviour. Unfazed and untouched, the teenager giggled aloud. It was merriment at its finest, much to the heroine's chagrin. «"Is this really Yayoi-san...?! It's like I'm fighting a completely different person!"» To one whose composure was gradually regained, a disturbing thought came to mind, inciting a narrowed glare. «"Is her body and soul adapting to the power of darkness?! Or maybe...it's poisoning her...transforming Yayoi-san into an obedient slave...? But, to go that far...! Is the Bad End Kingdom really that desperate in reviving their oppressive ruler?!"» Magia's stomach twisted at the assumption, a disgust intolerable. «"Zero Shift... I have to use Zero Shift! If I can beat Yayoi-san, I can beat the others! If I can win...!"» As if a reflection to heart-filled justice, Cure Magia's crimson ring flickered to life. «"I can get Candy's smile back!"»

«"My graceful element shall be your solution! Its performance unrivalled - kaze!"» A sudden voice echoing, the fairy of wind informed before her companion could act. «"We cannot afford to waste precious time! Engage the enemy post-haste - kaze!"»

"=PARADIGM~CHANGE: WI~ND~!=" The magician eagerly did as she was told, smiling ear-to-ear as the colours of fiery red were exchanged for bright emerald-green, patterns on her coat once jagged now spiralled into coils and loops, soft to behold. "=MYSTIC~ARTE: ZERO~SHIFT!="

Without delay, the mage took up her stance with ring presented, glimmering once more to empower its trusty master. Muscles reinforced, heart beating ever-faster, a thunderstorm finally made its appearance overhead, dousing trees set aflame, and when one drop the size of tears descended into view, it obeyed gravity's rule, but never would it reach its destination before slowly freezing in place - time was stagnant; as was Peace herself.

Swallowing down anxiety, eyes forward and determined, Cure Magia forced her body to run without reserve, each heavy step hammering watery pools, and each effort made accompanied by the sound of her own breathing. The closer her approach, inch-by-inch, the more motionless drops collided against naked face, the sensation all-too-familiar as the magical ring announced a Blast Calibre, excited and full of energy. "TEMPEST..." The elemental master pouncing ever higher, gathering nature's force in the palm of her right hand, within that moment free of restraint did the tiny aura of green light expand to vanquish evil's might. "...SEALING! !" Magia screamed, driving her hand towards Bad End Peace's defenceless chest, certain to rid the taint binding an innocent soul.

Despite her efforts, all was for naught.

Almost immediately, Magia's arm was grasped by equal strength, tossing her head-first onto solid ground, but quick and agile, the heroine planted a hand on the very surface to regain her balance before pushing herself away, landing and putting some distance after a majestic leap.

The enemy spoke with glee, smiling under downpour's heavy veil as crackling waves emitted from V-shaped gestures, her trait and namesake. "The same technique won't work twice, Haruka-chan~! Ehe-heehee~~!"

Magia was baffled - for Zero Shift to be bested by one possessed, to be made a fool an offence she could not stand, the maiden of magic gradually stood tall with mystic jewel. «"Yayoi-san saw my attack...?! That means she can keep up at sub-light speed! This is bad - Zero Shift is my perfect offence and defence. If Yayoi-san can outrun that, then-!"» Magia paused in mid-thought, shaking her head. She had to do away the negatives and strive for success. «"No...she won't. Not when my chest beats more than one heart: Earth, wind, fire, water... I have the power to eradicate the darkness. As long as I think ahead, nothing can stop ME or my FRIENDS!"»

In this conflict between good and evil, the victor had to be she whose fire lit the dismal night. «"Everyone, let's GO! !"»

~LA STORIA: OPAQUE CELSIUS - WINTER BUTTERFLY'S DREAM~

Choking fumes rising from charred remains, the surrounding trees fell silent and dead as ashen flakes were caught in the trail of invisible air, taking flight in-spite of virtuous rain, the land invaded by thunder's tremendous roar. It was a loud and deafening occurrence, a fright to the unexpected, but paling in comparison to chosen girls both young and promising, dead-set in ridding the other, suddenly vanishing without a trace in lightning's flash.

Two of a kind were left to wait atop a forgotten bridge, patient until Peace and Magia's inevitable return. Aoki Reika, enslaved by curiosity, pondered at the deepest depths: To exhibit powers in civilian form was a feat she had not considered possible, or perhaps it was a common ability now discovered. The icy queen knew not the answer, but instead sceptical of a link hidden in plain sight. A theory eager to test, a hand was pressed against her chest, the maiden concentrating on the sound of her own heartbeat. From the mark bestowed by their beloved Emperor was there a faint reaction, a warmth easily ignored. Reika was awash with serenity - she, too, could enact astonishment like Kise Yayoi.

As the constant drops were all they could hear, one girl stood to pat away the grime on her uniform of white and blue, overlooking the empty canal before turning on her heel to a friend she came to care, presenting the ever-loving smile she always wore. "Reika-chan, could you hold my umbrella?" She asked soft and kindly, but when a look of confusion beset her cherry mood, Miyuki playfully hopped to one's side, careful in avoiding a puddle or two for the well-being of another, whose dignity should remain refined. "Pleeease~?" Tilting one's head to the side, the delighted student of the Hoshizora Family uttered the magic phrase.

The blue-haired maiden, however, was hesitant towards such request. "Is that truly your decision, Miyuki-san? If you become drenched, you will undoubtedly catch a cold."

"Don't worry, don't worry~" Miyuki reassured, a response like any other. "It won't take too long. Besides, if we stay out here, we'll catch a cold anyway. Right~?"

Yet, befitting a response as it was, Reika nevertheless was wrought with concern. The clue was transparent as crystalline material, a positive gaze with an aspect of ignorance - it was a will compelled, a whim to assist the need. It was Miyuki's nature, a part of her character, and an element Reika had no right to repress. Standing in place with an umbrella of her own personal shade, hidden beneath to shield oneself from weather's cascade, Reika pulled back a tender smile, warm and welcoming as she finally reached out to retrieve Miyuki's one and only refuge. The latter was now exposed to the nasty rain, but there was not a frown on her lips to reflect gloom and misery, despite her clothing gradually becoming saturated, including hair of attractive deep-pink. "Miyuki-san..."

"Hm~?"

"...Come back safely."

Happiness charged, Hoshizora Miyuki widened for an innocent grin. "Reika-chan...❤" It was bright and cute, a soothing expression to behold like a goddess of love. The healthy body marching to the edge of farewell, Miyuki turned one last time for a gentle wave, softening her departure. It was just like her - even when approaching danger, the girl would smile evermore, a saint whom knew neither fear nor despair. Whether an optimistic fool or the bravest of them all, there was no denying Miyuki was the embodiment of hope itself as she uttered aloud a simple message born of purest emotion. "Your smile is the best~!" With that, she took a daring leap from heights that could take a life, but outside her magical form did she surprisingly glide, a body rendered weightless until the tip of one's shoe touched down upon earth's frozen bed.

Reika was finally alone. Isolation gradually setting in...

The opportunity to halt Miyuki's advance was ultimately wasted, neglect that may drive their scheme into ruin, but Reika was unusually content, harbouring no ill-will. "A promise beget by royalty, a fleeting dream to seek that which extends to infinity...is a dream we crave." A friend in mind left adrift in favour of a topic, priorities taking hold layer after layer until all that remained was concern for an important member of the team. Seemingly prompted by a kind gesture on nature's behalf, Reika was greeted by an icy brush on beautiful cheeks as gentle shoulders were adjusted to rid negligible discomfort, the umbrella to blame from continuous pressure. "Blissful harmony, undisturbed forevermore." Void were dark-blue eyes, she whispered to dominance, catching the sight of fervent figures fading in and out of reality as they did battle.

A thunderous clash at paces-so-terrifying, even the lady feared she would fail to notice at the bat of an eye - an amusing play of events, indeed.

"No cloud, no squall; no mongrel nor traitor...may hinder your awakening. Your very existence shall pave the road to our garden of paradise. A future we strive; a land we may call home."

Against the Messengers of Hollow Light, their plan would know no tragic deviation.
Against the Emperor of Bad End Kingdom, a trivial threat was soon to be erased.
Against destiny's lane, this pivotal stage would be graced by illustrious victory.
And to those deluded would wear the face of despair, left to drown in an honourable sea of compulsive Bad Energy.

"Truly, when this world receives its long-awaited Bad End, the distinction between good and evil shall be no more - our Perfect End." Aoki Reika was resolute, the destination to follow laid bare without hesitation...and all whom oppose would know icy cold retribution by her hand alone. "My desire is your desire. Is it not...Joker-sama~?"

This was her chosen path - as both Aoki Reika of the Garden of Rainbows...
...and Bad End Beauty of the Bad End Kingdom.

~MAGIC LINER~

Befallen from eerie presentation, divinity's tearful cry was frozen all around in mesmerising fashion, a reflective sea bearing witness to the dance of one clad in traitorous black and another burst to the high pressure of impacting assault. From a singular to a variety, many small and large, the glory of magical youths painted their environment into a timeless gallery, making way for irregular shapes outlined by dotted moisture - conflict and inspiration went hand-in-hand.

Steady and focused were tightened fists, a trailing path left in their ferocious wake to reach Pierrot's ecstatic puppet, the subtle feeling of tiny droplets rippled across her knuckles, but skipping with evasion as playful as one's personality, Bad End Peace snickered, tracking with hypnotic golden eyes. The cunning act of evil's display was irritating, prompting to reach within a mental switch, altering spiralling forest green to rhythmic blue waves on one's pitch-black coat. "=PARADIGM~CHANGE: WA~TER~!="

A spiteful gaze narrowing in return, at the end of tiny fingertips did electricity gather, yearning for release until thunder's mistress took desperate aim, a victorious gesture primed and ready. "Take THIS! !" At the height of exclamation, a fatal surge ruptured, a string connecting raindrop after motionless raindrop for entanglement. Her raging net of pure lightning, cast upon the battlefield, would bring about a fulfilling catch of the day. "PRETTY CURE! PEACE THUNDEEEER! !" Amidst this action to quell future's foe, a sense of confidence left her jubilant – this was her moment to shine among her peers, a chance to exceed expectations and defeat this villainous mage who barred Emperor Pierrot's search for tranquillity everlasting.

This little warrior was to be the victor, crowned champion of legend…were it not for misfortune made manifest, the child gasping too late for fortification.

In an instant, liquidity fell under magical command, merging to absorb thunder's vicious sting before reeling back, retaliating with not her own assaulting fist, but a fist composed of Nature's accumulated sorrow, one which extended out of Magia's defence as its brutal strength sent an agonising Peace flying into the distance, tumbling down and away on icy grounds - the field was now Magia's greatest weapon. «"One more!"» Forcing the make-shift wall apart at its centre, quickly did the wizard give chase, a goal to fulfil at a moment's notice, but the mind was aloft: Peace was short on breath, hands clutching a stomach pained and quivering body all curled up. It was a familiar scene, but not once did Magia deter, never allowing an avenue for emotional pity take its toll.

There was no better opportunity than the present.

"=BLAST~CALIBRE!=" Signalled by powers-to-be, elements gathered once again in righteous hands, the clear-blue coiling around her arms as step-by-step did she gradually close the gap. However, having caught wind of the announcement, Peace elicited a luminous sphere, but what was an easy task was made difficult by recent pain, a trembling performance. At her best and a defiant scream, a counterattack was projected at definition's tool.

For an agent of justice, Magia expected worse. "Here comes the finale!" Massive quantity quickening their spiral, directing magic to forcefully punch solid land, the heroine effectively propelled herself skyward before grabbing a handful to craft unique finesse: An exotic bow just right for her palm, its abnormal design prominent with engravings of twists and turns, waves of the pacific ocean, and inscribed were characters of the divine, native to Märchenland: 'The message forged in everlasting motion shall liberate shackled innocence.' In her other hand pulling back an invisible string, in-between her fingers were ethereal arrows, a trio imbued. And with graceful aim and destination secured, Cure Magia cried the very name that would pierce the Messenger of Hollow Light's defiled heart. "AQUATIC ERASE! !"

Like a souring phoenix, justice was free to shower purity.
Like fractured dreams, nightmares would perish in true light's ray.
Like ultimate illusions, the sleep would wake to reality's beck and call.

In this frozen canal, there was not an explosive bang to validate superhero cliché, only a struggle concluded by erupting splash to a melancholic act. "Whew, right into next week!" The winner descending back to earth, to witness the aftermath invoked a bubbling sensation. Cure Magia, a legendary warrior, could not help but vocally cheer. "The power of JUSTICE beats all! Not even a dark Pretty Cure can stop us!"

Fortune beyond comprehension was a valuable experience, a fact Magia knew as she patted away at her sullied coat. However, in-spite of intoxicating glee, the magician knew quite well the detriment of revelling in success, especially when hostility lingered nearby. Eyes briefly shut, heartfelt excitement was savoured for composure. «"My next opponent is somebody with plenty of experience. Shin-kun's fire should be able to melt Reika-chan's ice attacks, which means I can purify her without difficulty. But, against Miyuki-chan..."» She discussed with precious friends, a hand inspecting trusty ring. «"...is going to be difficult. I don't have the element to counteract holy light."»

To a world-so-bleak, she beheld with frustration. «"The power of darkness is forbidden. It's the very same evil that's trying to cover our worlds with a Bad End! I'll never forgive it; I'll never use it even if I had it - darkness will never be a tool for justice!"» Anger and hate empowered her thoughts, a staunch aversion demanding resonance, to stomp evil beneath her heel so it may quiver in fright, but it was a grudge best left unsaid, especially not openingly to chaotic humans. Until now, she had not noticed the apparent plight that was bitter grimace.

The fairies were not impressed.

«"...S-Sorry. I shouldn't have said that."» Magia confessed. «"Light can't exist without darkness...and darkness can't exist without light. You taught me that, Gnome-sensei. But...I just-"» Hesitant, pondering about seething rage etched deep in her heart, the troubling conversation was eventually postponed at her own discretion. «"Nevermind. I have to check if Yayoi-chan is alright."» Looking onward, there was only perpetual dust, a veil shielding all within, but this posed little challenge to a magical girl - where sight was useless, a keen sense of smell would lead on, useful enough to detect the faint odour of Bad Energy, thick and foul. It would naturally dissipate over time, invisible trails originating from where it was at its strongest. «"My Aquatic Erase should have purified the darkness. I need to take her back to the Mysterious Library before anything happens."»

Cautious with every step, she anticipated further opposition.

«"I'm getting kinda nervous...and kinda tired."» She was compelled to chuckle, but could only muster enough for telepathic delivery, adjusting the mood. «"I've almost exhausted all of my spiritual energy just by using Zero Shift. I feel like I'm gonna faint...but I can't give up. A saviour NEVER gives up! Otherwise-"» The body ground to a sudden halt, recoiled from the invasion of a horrid variety. Furthermore, caught in her sights, behind the shroud was a baleful outline, the distorted silhouette of a young magical girl standing in wait.

«"Be careful - tsuchi. I detect two have come to their aid - tsuchi."»

«"Cure Sunny and Cure March...? Or perhaps Cure Happy and Cure Beauty...? I suppose I concur. The warrior who stands before us could be either of the four - kaze."»

«"Magia, don't push yourself - mizu."» Care from one to another, relief washed over the mind. «"Levī will be sad if Magia gets hurt - mizu. Remember that everyone is here to help, too - mizu."»

«"She appears to be on the defence. They probably intend to distract you and recapture Cure Peace - hī."» Magia agreed without question - if Yayoi was reclaimed by tainted hands, all her effort would had been for naught. Refusing to sit idly by, one was prepared to complete her task and finally bring a smile to Candy, a piece to a Happy End. There was no room for error; it had to be done. «"...Wait."»

«"Uh?"» Magia heeded his call. «"What's wrong, Shin-kun?"»

«"From an outside perspective, the battle ended as soon as it began - hī. There isn't enough time to request Cure Sunny's and Cure March's aid. It's impossible - hī."» There was truth in his logic, narrowing possibility down to the last remaining two, but his following debate left her mystified. «"The same applies to Cure Happy and Cure Beauty - hī. They couldn't have closed the gap between here and the bridge in such relatively short time. They would have to transform, but in doing so, we would have noticed - hī."»

There was no denying a conclusion without fault - for one undergoing a transformation, typically it would be accompanied by intense grace, a beckon of hope. Even Yayoi's compact produced a light-so-bright before yielding to revolting darkness. Magia gave it a moment's time, gathering her thoughts: If not happiness incarnate or she with icy dark motives, if not burning fury or tempestuous embodied, then urging sense dictated a comprehension she refused to accept. Magia shook her head furiously - there had to be a mistake.

«"When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the tru-"»

«"Shutup-shutup-SHUTUP, Shin-kun! I don't want to hear it!"» A suggestion was immediately ignored in favour of Cure Magia scanning to rid concern, discerning one's identity beyond the veil...but something was amiss, an element ceasing to resound - flowing breeze, echoes, ripples, a reminder of life. Any would had received its expected touch, for vegetation and all who live until a sudden gasp escaped Märchenland's finest, eyes widening to the terrifying dawn of a realization she should had known. "Z-Zero Shift is-!" As if to prove her right, a force rocketed out in surprise, an assailant in black delivering unto Magia a crippling strike, a simplistic punch infused by mystic might caught just in time. Overwhelmed by disbelief, the chest ached to the sovereignty of utter desolation.

She thought herself victorious...
A hero everyone deserved in times of crisis...
But in actuality, she had triumphed over nothing...

...and the nightmare was far from over.

~OVER🌠STAR~

«"WATCH OUT - MIZU! !"»

Out the corner of her eye, a hasty sweep drew close before one could counter, a kick equalling in sheer strength as one would discover. "GYAAAAAHHH! !" Its frightening power toppling one's own, she was knocked off her feet to slide and row before regaining her balance with elemental bow replaced by whirling assault, eager to inflict retribution and drive away her pursuer, but with energies depleted could only the faintest be conjured. "CYCLONE BURST! !" Concentrating with all her might, a tiny release entrusted hope and determination to accomplish what she failed, but as the projectile edged ever-closer to evil's heart, devastating sparks of the violet kind encased its master, invoked by a familiar gesture - the luminous pellet degraded into glittering light, fading into nothingness.

Nevertheless, the aggressor took a sharp leap to whence she pounced as a nefarious beam reached ear-to-ear, a fluorescent pose enacted to an audience of one. "Travelling Back in Time from Next Week~! Defender of Justice: Mirai Peace~!" The so-called defender announced, complete with a wink. However, it did not take long before a mischievous giggle revealed itself, shattering the pretence of a time-travelling magical girl. "Not really~ Eheh-heehee~!" There was not a blemish on her slick uniform of black and yellow in-spite of enduring conflict - this wicked little servant was the display of perfection.

«"Why didn't it work?! It should have purified her! Don't tell me she's, nngh-!"» To sustain its toll no longer, the abundant veil and hammering downpour were finally subjected to gravity's rule. Her breathless body was unable to stand, her attention drawn to witness Bad End Peace enraptured in refreshing feel. «"Don't tell me Yayoi-chan is immune...? That shouldn't be possible. No-one can nullify purification."»

The sight alone induced boiling resentment, yearning for a theatrical comeback. However, a recent detail, one which had not been discernible until now, caught Magia's undivided attention: It was an ominous cloud swirling within a four-sided gem protruding from the chest, giving its now-clean exterior a purple hue, pulsing faintly at regular intervals. Upon closer inspection, she saw what could be described as markings of blackened thorns reaching up to the neck, no doubt a side-effect of evil's control - negativity was seemingly feasting on its host, growing perpetually.

«"Is that some kind of Bad Energy amplifier? When did that-"» Prompted by interruption, her nose twitched to an aberration. «"That's weird - Yayoi-chan smells like an Akanbe."»

«"Eh?! Is Magia serious - mizu?!"»

There was a slight nod. «"It's just like those Akanbe back on the beach. If I had to guess, that gem IS the Akanbe."» Calming nerves with a steady breath, the encompassing breeze dissipated as she tried to stand, but her knees buckled to the act. "Ngh-! Not...done yet...!" Refusing to fall, Magia supported her trembling legs with her own arms, glaring at she whom should rightfully be defeated. «"But, that would mean it's responsible for Yayoi-chan's immunity. How am I supposed to stop something like THAT?"» Upon that realisation, the next thought left her petrified, horribly so. «"How...am I supposed to save Yayoi-chan...?"»

«"Don't give up - mizu! Levī thinks there is a way! There is always a way - mizu...!"»

«"Levī is correct - kaze! We know not the full extent of its capability! It must possess a weakness - kaze!"»

Uplifting were words from positive friends; inauspicious was her own magical prowess. Hands of a hero, chosen personally by Royale Queen herself, could purify not even a single soul. «"But... But...I..."» Cure Magia was plummeting into despair, bit-by-bit.

«"Magia, snap out of it - hī! Focus...!"»

Meanwhile, excitement fulfilled, a gentle hand by Bad End Peace was offered to one injured and disoriented. "Are you okay~?" Electric streaks danced off her form, supported by endearing laugh, as she assisted the girl back onto shaky feet. However, unable to begin, the latter's empty gaze incited a pout out of annoyance, pulling her close for a sensational heart-to-heart both warm and soft in renewing a smile.

"Can you feel our hearts beating together? It feels nice...doesn't it~?" Her words were considerate, much like a precious daughter to an earnest mother. "I don't really get it...but I want to believe Pierrot-sama gave us a miracle. I want to believe we can beat Haruka-chan and get our Perfect End~! So, don't be scared; be brave for me~" Words invested, emotions conveyed, the last was to glimpse the soul, but when a mistake was realised, a correction was made. "N-No... Not for me. For you~"

The silent innocent could do no right nor wrong, only quiver indecisively. She was overwhelmed by so much, yet so little, a train wreck of ideas. When finally yielded to the begging of the heart, the girl longed to rid throbbing incertitude. "Who...are you?" And without a second thought, a welcoming twinkle expressed, the warrior happily provided.

"I am you...and you are me~"

Peace was quiet for the longest time. Hearing dubious words harboured suspicion, unable to openly admit to she whom possessed her face. It was only natural, but she had to be certain: Hobbies, favourite dishes, childhood memories, friends and family, and many Yayoi herself would know.

There was no mistake - they were one and the same, a revelation met with Bad End Peace exclaiming in delight. "AMAAAZZZIIIINNNNGGGG~~! Eheehee~!" The cheeks of both adjusted to a common shade while returning sisterly embrace, the twins ecstatic with a matching sense of fervour. "You're like another me! A mirrored reflection! Heehee~" They laughed to their heart's content, an incident in reality seemingly based on fantasy - the future would know not a single Bad End Peace, but all that she was.

Warriors of opposite lands, beaten and weak, exchanged a loathsome glance. With precious strength reduced to a flickering blaze, through the busy minds coursed methodical plans, but none were of rainbows and sunshine, only conquest for the absolute - neither knew the length of their ferocious clash; neither knew when to admit defeat. When the soldiers of despair concluded their bonding, gradually did a hefty tone shift from dry laughter to an infectious snigger, invoking a chill as heavenly tears befell the world. "Haruka-chan, did you know? My Perfect End~?" The childish imp teased, lips of allure cracking a devious grin as the other did the same, each taking turn to voice one true desire. "My friends..."

"Pierrot-sama..."

"Mama..."

"Akaōni... I want to be praised by everyone...and I want everyone to be happy~"

"That's why I want a BIG family like Nao-chan; be SUPER SMART like Reika-chan; GOOD at sports like Akane-chan; CUTE like Miyuki-chan~! And more, more, moooorrrreeee amazing things~~!" In an act of further illustration, the two raised their hands high above their heads, each gradually descending to form an enveloping circle - a spherical wonderland. "I'm going to paint this world BLACK and make my Perfect End come true! Eheh-heehee~ And Haruka-chan will finally understand...right~?" Peace laughed as if her control was lost, the mind awash by something akin to euphoria. Chanting a simplistic phrase, her eyes once empty began to light up and glow an eerie golden. "Black..."

"Black~"

"BLACK~~"

Cure Magia found it unnerving.

"UWAAA~~!" Not a moment too soon did the situation take a turn for the worst, a guest arriving to bask in the presence of two, squealing in fascination that bordered jealousy, but just as she was about to let loose her signature pout, to cry foul of Yayoi's secrecy, a mage in distraught caught her eye - this was going to be fun. "Lucky~~! Haruka-chan, don't lose too quickly~" A sly grin and the brandishing of her personal Smile Pact, Hoshizora Miyuki summoned forth ancient power. "Pretty Cure! Smile CHARGE! !"

A marvel re-enacted, a captivating scenery excelled from a bullet ray. "=GO~! Go, Go, LET'S~GO: HAPPY~!=" Hopeful radiance abating to sickening ink, from a pulsating sack emerged an eye shadow of darkened pink, a fitting shade to reflect merciless intent.

The beckoning darkness all around was a gift with potency beyond reasoning, enveloping her whole until there stood not an innocent maiden, but a chosen warrior of Emperor Pierrot. "Guiding Hope~! The Dark Light at Future's End! Bad End Happy~!" However, her magical uniform was no longer how she remembered it, now a mirror-match to Yayoi's own: Adorable pink replaced by predominant black; various patterns dyed in dark magenta. Even Yayoi's crystal gem harbouring minacious life was sported on Miyuki's chest.

Among these changes, there was but a striking differentiation: Shadowy chains, affixed to arms and legs connected to an obvious collar. Bad End Happy was perplexed, the restraints seemingly without weight or hindrance to movement. From a pose to a twirl, nothing further aroused her curiosity...until she realised their lethal might with the accidental flick of a wrist, delivering unto a family of trees obliteration. Instead of shock, Happy beamed in content. "Peace, let's protect our smiling future~!" Calling towards her partner, signalling back with a positive gesture, the Bad End Pretty Cure prepared themselves a climactic tribute for Ryūdō Haruka. "PRETTY CURE! !" A rondo of love, a herald to ruin, nature's rage and sparkle lumen joined hand-in-hand for a radiant surprise.

"THUNDER..."

"...SHOWER..."

"...SHINING DOUBLE HURRICANE DAAAARRRK! ! !"

Time to evade; chance to retaliate - Cure Magia had none to choose. It was speeding this way, impending doom now awake, a disastrous torrent of colossal energy gone unmatched and swallowing all in its indiscriminate path. No amount of willpower could feasibly repel their combined magic. Had she not gave her all, perhaps her end would not be so cruel. The answer was clear: It was pointless to persevere. Candy's wish gone unresolved was the last crossing thought, a wish no purification could grant.

Evil's embrace...never came to pass.

Almighty and supreme, the twisted finale should have erased a life, however, by the will of a defiant silhouette was it abruptly hindered, whose presence alone halved chaotic negativity to veer and safely dissipate. It was an arrival unforeseen, the Märchenland fairies reassured by their new-found saviour, but Cure Magia was edged to the point of disbelief, unwilling to acknowledge that lone potential could exceed a chosen pair.

Slowly, but surely, the clues hinted the obvious, coupled by the unmistakable metallic sheen, the rose-coloured hair and battle stance ripe with confidence: It was Cure Prisma - her bravery steel had singlehandedly cut down impossibility. "Off your game, 'hero'?" She was calm and unscathed, the shining knight standing tall with pristine blade whilst peering over her shoulder. At a glance, antipathy was evident in a mage bested. "If it wasn't for the smoke, I wouldn't have caught you messing around." Prisma's tone was seething with contempt, no different from their feud in the Mysterious Library. "You could have died."

Magia kept her distance, glaring incessantly in-spite of tolerance peaking. They were Pretty Cure, hand-picked by destiny to eliminate evil in legends foretold, but Magia had to make an example. Lashing out against further belittlement would only raise their level of aggression - repression was key. "...I don't need your help." Uttering a lie in favour over honesty, trembling fists were clenched. "I can save them mysel-"

"Trying to one-up me isn't going to save anybody. If you died over something stupid as fame, the consequences would have affected not just me, but Candy and Pop as well!" Magia's attention was caught at the mention of fellow allies, names she did not expect to hear from one whose arrogance betrayed heroic tradition. "I've already lost someone important to me...and I'm not going to repeat the same mistake. I've got enough on my shoulders." At that very moment, Kagami Light turned to confront Magia before rushing into battle, expressing not the look of antagonism, but the face of apprehension. "Go home, Ryūdō-san. Find Candy and Pop. It's my turn to keep her promise."

The rival she met that day was not the same today, the two exchanging like night and day. Magia's violent emotions ready at a buckling dam gradually faded to matching bewilderment, thoughts crossing after another. «"Light…what is it you're after? Candy's happiness…or your happiness? How did someone like you even become a Pretty Cure?"» The fight between a glistening knight and fallen servants raged - Peace and her duplicate entered speeds faster than the naked eye could perceive, while Happy laughed at her opposition, dishing out vicious melee and going as far as alternating to mystic chains. A solitary sweep transformed into a wild dance; a rapid thrust homing its way like a one-winged spear.

The white knight, impossible as it may, grabbed the lightning-fast Peace during the skirmish and tossed her towards the other, electrically merging them back into a whole before turning to Happy, her deadly chain seeking blood. "GARU-SABRE! !" Armour shifting to emerald green, the sword coated in invisible air, a prevailing typhoon was launched to counter living metal, eventually stunning the warrior herself. By the time the latter refocused her attention, Prisma had already closed the gap and struck once more, pushing her to the ground by a saviour's defence.

«"Magia, we should listen to Cure Prisma and find the others - hī. This is no longer a battle you can join - hī."»

«"Levī agrees - mizu! Levī wants Magia to stay safe - mizu!"»

The mage was at a loss for words, both mentally and verbally. A Pretty Cure required time and experience to amass such power, but to witness Kagami Light obtain it in a span of days was ludicrous. No hero could possibly earn such a feat, there had to be an explanation. As the situation drew ever-closer to a conclusion, an opening or two revealed themselves. «"Not yet - I still have my trump card!"» Magic gathering at a focal point, she bided her time, a hand next to her choker, a limiter, at the ready.

«"Magia, that's dangerous! You have been instructed not to use it unless necessary - hī!"»

An opening was soon to appear and time was not so lenient. Once the trigger was pulled, there was no going back. A collar pulsing, signifying completion, a positive smile stretched across Cure Magia's lips - this would be her first, and hopefully her last, to wield the legendary power of Infinity. "I'll make an exception!" With a firm tug, the dark accessory around her neck would be torn, inviting a sensation unknown, but just as she was about to make that final pull, a shadowy figure emerged out of thin-air. "Ah-!?" Magia had no time to react and neither did her companions, her guard lowered and exposed to danger as senses were overwhelmed. The enemy aiming at her stomach, the last her ears would perceive before the invasion of dire agony would be the sound of foreboding amusement.

"Ufufuu~"

Darkness encapsulated all…
Freedom was denied…
Calamity reigned…
And the light eternally banished.

Try as she may, standing was not an option, her strength fading; to hear was not possible, a constant ringing overwhelming. The world was a blur, unable to discern vibrant colour among the monotony of gloom, but strafing left and right was a white outline, waging arms against one launching electricity and another employing divine light. Although hazy vision lead to inadequate detail, her sense of touch remained to catch the mighty breeze, the bounded edge of the tempest king ready to strike, but at the last second did it pause. The mage could not decipher the call, muffled by an unbalanced pitch. Unfortunately, it would be a mistake costing the knight success, an opportunity for countless chains to entangle and choke to rob free will.

There was more as perception return.

Cute by birth, bound by trust, they lay unconscious in this canal, the monochromatic flakes landing on their cheeks. "Sylph... Le-Levī..." The twisted grin on Reika's face when she pre-emptively blasted her away was a pusillanimous trick to remember, subsequently unravelling the strings keeping Cure Magia together. "Shin...kun... Gnome...sen...sei…!" Forcing herself to crawl, she dragged her body to friends in need, but when she reached out, immoral dread tunneled its way into the quaking heart: Royale Queen's beloved gift, the magic ring, was gone.

The mind suddenly entering a state of distress and insecurity, she franticly rummaged through the muddy surface for that glimmer of final hope, clouded by obsession. "Where did...?! Where...where...?!" In the midst of her hunt, far away did a glint catch her gaze, prompting a maddening crawl - the power to make dreams come true was inching ever-closer...but when a heel landed next to her precious ring, Haruka abruptly stopped. The cold aura was an obvious indication, but her nose twitched to the scent of foul origin in Beauty's hands, a glimpse at the Book of Darkness.

The entire forest had been engulfed in a Bad End Space visualised by a corrupted mind, the icy sky blue full of stars and forever falling the snowy weather. Worse, hovering nearby were frozen cages, each with a living eye.

Haruka was horrified - her tiny friends were being scooped into captivity. Time was running out, she had to act and keep her emotions in check while Beauty was occupied running a hand through silky hair, but when the queen of winter's judgement curled back an ominous smile, she gradually raised her feet...and immediately brought it down to shatter optimism beneath her ruthless heel.

In a sudden blink, tears trickling and face buried in denial, all positivity that made Ryūdō Haruka utterly snapped, plunging her into the deepest depths of howling despair, her anguish resonating. "NOOOOOOOOOO! ! !" Gone was her miracle, so too, was Haruka's sanity, her existence no more magical than fictitious dreams. The body exerted negativity for evil's timeless feast, much more than typical humans. Her thoughts were corroding, unable to reclaim control. "M-My magic...! My...destiny...!"

Haruka succumbed to ravaging emotions, crying to her heart's content. Without her ring, Haruka was worth nothing. And if Haruka was worth nothing, she no longer had a purpose.

Hope was doomed to fail against smothering darkness – there was no restoration to a frail concept.

Hollow like their title, each Messenger revelled in triumph to the shiver of intoxication, limitless and forthcoming. It was a delight running up their backs, to harvest tremendous amount of Bad Energy absolute bliss - especially for Bad End Happy. "Haruka-chan's face is making my heart go 'lovey-dovey'~! Heheh-hahaha~! It's the BEST! Ultra-happy~!" She cheered to the heavens, the mouth salivating before wiping it clean as apparent was her hungry desire for more. "Haruka-chan, don't cry. You need to smile or happiness will disappear~" Her tender voice seemingly another side of the same coin, Happy counselled despairing youth. "Like this: Smile, smile~!" Cheeks were pushed back in demonstration, but Haruka was unfazed. "Hap-pu-puu~ I guess it can't be helped~!" Happy quickly resigned and pouted before claiming joyous wonder. "Haruka-chan, it's time for bed - don't hate us when you never wake up, okay~?"

One step frightened the weak.
Another step instilled the worse imaginable.
And the next beckoned a miserable cry.

One Messenger did not share Happy's enthusiasm. "No more..." The youngest muttered with head hanging low, ashamed. "Happy, this is too much. We should stop..."

Somewhat eerily, Happy's smile did not waver. "What are you saying? If we let Haruka-chan live, Pierrot-sama will get angry. We need to do the right thing~"

Peace was caught off-guard, the word 'live' reserved for context pertaining a life besieged. "You mean 'k-kill'?! Happy, how can you say that?! We've not supposed to-!"

Happy was insistent. "Haruka-chan needs to sleep forever. Otherwise, Pierrot-sama can't make our Perfect End come true~"

"I am afraid an alternative solution does not exist." Beauty entered the dispute, taking Happy's side. "If Ryūdō-san flees, she is bound to interfere with our plans."

"But, Haruka-chan can't transform anymore! She can't hurt us!"

"-but, she can harm our families." A grin fading to concern, Beauty approuched. "Your mother is in danger, Yayoi-san. Our family is in danger. I cannot imagine the atrocity Ryūdō-san may inflict on poor Kise Chiharu." Preying on one's weakness, alluring to watch, the girl they called a friend held her chest, the pulsing gem hastening with each rapid beat. Indecisive was their little Peace, tempted to pull her strings as manipulative as one's unsated desire, Beauty whispered down her ear. "Yayoi-san...consider this a pre-emptive assault. An opportunity to stop Ryūdō Haruka before it happens." It was a suggestion followed by a grin. "You are the only one who can save your mother. Her special hero."

Aspects of guilt and remorse, hidden emotions unfit for a warrior dispensing justice, flared deep within. The face of despair, Haruka's tragic tears and stolen fairies, left her questioning: Were they taking this too far? Did Pierrot's enemy deserve a fate worse than humiliation? The youngest could not imagine the prospect of further cruelty, but if not by their hands, it would be by Haruka's evil intentions. Just as she was about to speck was she struck by elusive pain, holding onto Beauty for support. "Ma...ma... M-Mama...!" The spoken title delivered a shiver of worry, memories of fond times surfacing to remind one of their most precious.

She was already familiar with loss in the family, to dare dread the day of another incident reduced the girl into a quivering mess.

From the beating chest continuing to ache once more, the jewel pulsed as if it was the heart's own reflection. "I don't want Mama to be hurt...! I want Mama to be safe! I want...!" More and more did she think about her beloved mother, the heart quickened its pace, threatening to overwhelm delicate sanity. "Haruka-chan...will hurt Mama. I want- I won't forgive Haruka-chan...if that happens. I won't let Haruka-chan...have her way!"

"Peace, it's okay~ We'll always be here to help~!"

"Peace, I trust we are in an agreement?"

If Mother was to discover her own daughter's secret as a magical girl, the fate of their promised paradise would be in jeopardy. Mother's safety came first above all else. Feeling nervous whilst looking into the eyes of friends keen for her coming response, slowly, but surely, did the pulsing gem come to a solid halt on its respective shade. "Everyone... I..." Taking a life would weigh upon anyone's conscience till the end of time, a crime no-one should bear...except for the one true heroine. "...I want to put Haruka-chan to sleep."

Preparation immediately began upon Yayoi's avowal:
Happy led to their chosen victim before pouncing to the latter's side, pinned by the arms while leering at her frightful face.
A show in need of an audience, Beauty sought Prisma's aid, whose arms and legs were chained to the ground. Grabbing her hair, Beauty forced their enemy to watch, a day to remember.

Peace, shaking uncontrollably, watched as Haruka furiously kicked. A sad and desperate attempt. Sitting on top to prevent Haruka's legs from further movement, Peace observed her victim, a smile backed by a depressing tone. "Haruka-chan...I'm sorry. I'm very, very sorry." Peace apologised, genuine and unmasked. "I didn't want to do this...but I can't let Mama get hurt by you. Mama is too important to me. I don't want Mama to join Papa in heaven - I need Mama with me." A confession to hear, a tear signalled a side rarely seen. "This is going to be the last time we meet. I wish we could have been friends..."

"Yayoi-chan! ! W-We can be friends! Please! I don't want to die! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! ! ! ROYALE QUEEN-SAMA! SAVE ME! ! ROYALE QUEEN-SAMAAAAAA! ! !"

Raising a sign in hands both high towards the black sky, thunder gathered to their mistress, charging power to the fullest until she brimmed a golden light. "My name is Kise Yayoi - I'm a bit of a crybaby, but once I've made up my mind, I always finish what I decide to start." From beneath Peace's shadowy bangs, the last Ryūdō Haruka would witness would be eyes of truth flickering alive. "Haruka-chan..."

A great promise collapsing into a tomb of undeniable dejection. What was once a warrior destined for greater things, a hero no more. Light beget darkness...and also tragically end.

This was her story.

The story of a girl who met a Bad End.

"Bye-bye~"

Memories of Haruka: ~Disillusion~

Becoming a Pretty Cure - that was the day I was at my happiest.

I remember the sound of applauding mixed with wild cheers.

The smile on everyone's faces left me speechless.

Even my companions were with them.

I was so nervous; I thought it was all a dream...

But, I did it. I fulfilled my promise to Shin-kun and became a real hero!

As a legendary Pretty Cure, I wanted to make Royale Queen-sama proud!

I wanted to prove how strong I really was - both the real me AND my Pretty Cure-self!

But...now I know. The pain, the suffering, the choking despair...

Now, I know what it means to fight...and it hurts so much...

Sylph, Levī, Shin-kun, Gnome-sensei... I lost everyone.

I'm not even a Pretty Cure, anymore.

I don't deserve to be a hero...

I am...and always was...just an idiot.

~LOST SMILES~

Still was the wind, his fine coat could not feel.
The mind alert, his composure did not stray.

Trained in the arts was his body made ready, but creeping anxiety was no harboured lie, the light of all diminishing to fatal black. Their emissary of Märchenland, Cure Magia, was in grave danger - the Book of Pretty Cure depicted as thus. Although picture-based, the lack of description did not hinder his search. Key visuals were but one method, the location made easier by the conception of Bad End Space. The thick and damp vegetarian, aided by a foreboding atmosphere proved to obstruct his endeavour, the path invisible to naked eyes, but clear to instincts attuned.

They had arrived.

Illustrations were a reflection of reality, captured in their splendour, but the canal once devoid was now claimed by surging waters as floating passed were icy chunks. Around them, what used to be healthy trees have been burnt to the ground, a few still standing tall with a charred scent lingering. The precise moment had come and gone, their intervention far too late to make a difference. The lion cursed under his breath - he should had known sooner. Much sooner.

"Onī-chan, over there - kuru!"

Accompanying him was his little sister, defiant to his protection. She refused to remain behind despite looming threats, the fallen all-powerful, but she was not afraid. Once, her innocence broke through the shackles binding Reika's heart. Had chance been kind, she would save the rest and reunite their smiles. Certain without a doubt. Running along the edge, catching up to his beloved Candy, an ally of justice was in sight...but she was on her knees, next to a body laying flat on the ground. They were soaking wet, a fresh trail leading back into the canal. "Prisma-dono, what happened - de gozaru?"

She was enacting a procedure: Applying pressure to the chest multiple times, she soon held Haruka's nose and breathed down her mouth. The procedure would repeat; the results the same.

Cure Magia would not wake.

"Haruka's in cardiopulmonary arrest! I don't have- Damn it, GET UP! !" Her tone was that of distress, her efforts meaningless. "Your friends need you, more than ever now! Didn't you say you were a 'hero'?! You can't give up! You're too stubburn to die, you stupid FOOL!" Pressing the chest did little good, no matter the amount. She was showing signs of fatigue and eventually, Prisma came to a stop, frustration in toll. "I'm...not...Yayoi... I can't do what she did. I don't have- Huh?!" Gauntlets radiating, crackling up and down were electric arcs, pure and simplistic yellow. She recalled making contact with Peace's double, a touch to mimic. Renewed by hope, a focused charge was delivered to shock Haruka's body, but when not a beat could be heard, she tried again. "Come on..." And again. "Come on...!" And one more time. "WAKE UP! !"

In the end, nothing came to fruition - the body of Cure Magia would not stir.

All-of-a-sudden, a light shimmered throughout, engulfing Magia whole, her overall size reducing to something that could be held in human hands. Pop gasped in realisation, the scenery clear to behold. "Haru...?" It was a friend among friends from home: Haru, the White Wolf Fairy of Märchenland. He had thought their emissary was a human hand-picked by their beautiful Royale Queen, but to know she was a fairy all this time left him baffled. Candy sat by Haru's lifeless form, shaking it in hopes of a response as she cried her name to no avail. It was painful to watch, even for Pop. Prisma, on the other hand, was prepared to leave, her blade summoned anew with elements cycling: From lightning to wind, from ice and fire, and to the very last of holy light. Its metallic surface flourishing, she promptly marched away, a new Bad End Space activated nearby.

"Prisma-dono!" Pop intervened, calling out to her. "Prisma-dono, you cannot beat them by yourself. We should return to the Mysterious Library and think of a plan - de gozaru."

"I'm not going back empty-handed."

A chance to sway her decision, Pop continued. "It is too dangerous! We cannot risk losing another Pretty Cure - de gozaru!" He raised his voice at the girl clad in armour, her back turned. "No matter how hard you try, no matter how justified your intentions may be, you are no match for them!" Pop was worried. The world required a saviour, a protector of smiles and dreams. Their only hope in the face of despair. He feared the worst, the loss of another ally. "Light-dono...you cannot win - de gozaru."

Prisma, after so long, let loose a long sigh. "It's not a question of 'can' or 'can't'." Gripping the blade tight, turning to look towards Pop eye-to-eye, she uttered an answer as if it was a rule only she came to know. "Some things in life..."

There was no-one left to stop their plans in harvesting Bad Energy. She was the last line of defence. One way or another, Cure Prisma had to put an end to the Messengers of Hollow Light. Even if it meant bringing them back all injured and bruised.

If Pierrot awakened, it would be game over for humanity.
If Bad End Kingdom succeeded, Märchenland would be written off for good.

She had no choice. Truly, there were some things...

"...you just do."

Memories of Light: ~A Broken Wonder~

I was chained down by past sins, unable to move forward into the future.

I wish I could see you again, just one last time...

...but you were gone, dispatched to death's realm by my own hands.

It was a tragedy I couldn't ignore.

So I fought everyday; to undo my mistakes.

No matter how hard I try, I knew nothing would bring you back.

All I could do...was think about my actions.

When I saw another life taken before me, I was overcome by grief; sadness.

I sought vengeance.

I didn't know what would happen after meeting my enemy again, and when the end finally came...

...I had none of the answers I needed.

My path to atonement...stretched for infinity.
