He pulled her out of that room as quickly as he could, his mind racing; how could he win? His options were minimal; the odds were not in his favor. He needed to consult with Kakashi and Naruto.

"I'm going to kill him." A feral voice hit him like a ton of bricks.

He turned to see Naruto up against a wall outside the Hokage office, Yamato had him incased in a cage of sealed wood. His face was unrecognizable, his eyes slit alike those of a cat; blood red, with the most carnivorous expression he had ever seen a human bear. The air around them reeked with the stench of an evil chakra.

"Naruto, you need to calm down!" Yamato barked, his face dripping with sweat.

"Naruto-kun!" Sakura gasped loudly, stepping toward him.

Naruto looked at her and his eyes darkened even more.

"How dare he! Sakura, I will kill him for doing this." Naruto choked out, his voice marred by the change in his jaw.

Sakura looked around in panic, before turning him. He stared down at her determined features in surprise…

"Shikamaru, I need you to teleport us to training ground 3."

He nodded and immediately flew through the hand signs, ignoring Yamato's protests; he trusted Sakura.

"AHHHH!" Naruto screeched like an animal, finally free from his cage.

He watched in fear as Sakura walked calmly onto the battle field with Naruto. He moved to go after her, what on earth was that woman thinking! She could get herself killed…

"Leave it." A strong hand came down on his shoulder.

He turned to see Kakashi, Tsunade and Jiraiya standing behind him; their faces grim.

"Let them vent Shikamaru, trust me; this is something you have never seen before." Tsunade whispered.

He turned to the battle field, and what met his eyes shocked him more than anything; he had seen this, contrary to their belief. This was the force that took down Madara… though one component was missing.

The woman on the field was glowing with a green light, her hair waving around her, green seals spread across her skin as she transformed into an impenetrable warrior; he healing chakra the perfect armor. Whilst the man, incased in red; tails whipping about, though Shikamaru could see his eyes were no longer red, they were yellow now with horizontal black pupils. He understood now, they needed to fight out this anger, or else Sasuke would really die.

Sakura charged Naruto, her fist cocked and her eyes narrowed, and fox nin dodged swiftly and appeared behind Sakura with astounding speed; his leg aimed at her midsection. Said woman grabbed the incoming appendage and whirled as she threw him across the grounds.

Naruto landed in a graceful dive-roll and flipped into a crouch, snarling as he went for her again.

The fight was almost too intense to watch, they had to retreat 200 meters back into the forest, as Sakura had caved most of the field in; Naruto's rasengan had contributed to quite a few craters.

Shikamaru was beginning to calm down, though his amazement never left his features; he had always been over powered by the woman in his life, but just as he thought he had found one he could protect and be strong for… she turns out to be the most dangerous woman he had ever met.

"Do you think we could stand a chance now Jiraiya?" Tsunade chuckled as she watches them switch into an intense jutsu battle, wind and water elements clashing in the middle of the field.

The white haired man laughed aloud, before draping an arm around her shoulders.

"Tsunade, we would put up a damn good fight; but I think it's time we admit to ourselves that our own apprentices have surpassed us."

The busty blonde woman smiled and cocked her head.

Shikamaru had no doubts that the fight they were talking about would be more than intense; 4 sannin having it out… He could hardly handle watching this fight right now.

There was suddenly an ear piercing scream, and Shikamaru bolted upright to see… But what he saw was the last image he had ever wanted.

SAKURA POV.

He was in front of her, standing with that disgusting smirk on his face. She and Naruto were about to call it a quits, feeling immensely better after blowing off some steam. Now…

"Why was I not invited to a team sparring session?" Sasuke hissed; his eyes flicked from Sakura to Naruto.

Naruto's aura immediately darkened, and Sakura watched in horror as his eyes turned back to their unstable red. She herself could feel her anger radiating through every pour again.

"So much for the new generation of Sanin…" Sasuke remarked flippantly, taunting them.

His eyes spun into curious pinwheels; the eternal magakenyou sharingan. His cursed seal spread quickly over his body, and suddenly… suddenly they were standing ready for battle.

Shikamaru POV

There they were, the three strongest shinobi in the world; facing off in front of him. One; the woman he loved, the other one of his best friends, and the other was the one man he wanted to kill more than anything in the world.

"Kakashi?!" Tsunade demanded, wanting to know if they had to step in.

Kakashi sighed and shook his head, turning to peer at them with a sad expression.

"There is nothing we can do now, they are going to fight; and it will be catastrophic. All we can do is hope none of them kill each other."

Shikamaru swallowed, he had never felt so helpless; he had never felt so hopeful. This was just what they needed. If the council members saw her fight the Uchiha with everything she had, every ounce of hate; and in turn saw how ruthless and uncaring he could be… she may very well have won her own hand. He smiled inwardly, and his shadow out quickly; grasping her hand for a moment.

Those emerald eyes flicked to his; and they told him she understood, they told him she was fighting for more than herself, she was fighting for them.

"SHANNARO!"
