Velvetshadow shook her head, as though trying to shake out the thoughts that had haunted her for years.
She was a bad Pegasus.
"One of the worst," she said bitterly.
She stopped. She heard talking, no, shrieking more like.
"Sometimes I just don't want to have to deal with everything! Why can't everyone just go away!"
This didn't sound promising. Luna, screaming? She had always come across as calm... Well, except for when people were making fun of her back in the Ravenclaw room. She trotted forward more, following the sounds of Luna's voice, which were becoming steadily more depserate and scared. Finally, she rounded the corner to find Luna standing in a corner, facing the wall, sobbing histerically.
"Luna?" Velvetshadow called nervously, taking a small step forward.
Luna whirled around, her eyes bloodshot. Her hair was a tangled nest, her clothing wrinkled. The effect was so dramatic, it was almost comical how insane she looked. But not in a funny way, more just unreal. When Luna's eyes focused on Velvetshadow, they narrowed.
"I don't want to talk to you." She hissed.
"Luna, I just came to apologize. I'm s-"
"DONT! I don't want to hear it!" She shrieked. "Your apology means nothing to me! Everywhere I go people just make fun of me, for my name and my clothes and my hair and everything! You just want to make me miserable here, you are my own personal Hell! I don't deserve this, whatever I did I don't deserve this!"
Velvetshadow took another step forward, unsure.
"Luna, I am so sorry for what I did, I never should have made fun of you. It's just you made me seem stupid, and inferior in front of all those people and I can't stand being publicly humiliated..."
She realised her mistake a second too late.
"Oh, I wonder how THAT feels, being publicly humiliated? Not like that happens everywhere I go, though! Nice to know you're only thinking of yourself, you greedy, heartless, SOULESS PIG! I never want to see you again in my life! I was looking forward to coming here to get away from it all, from all the teasing! I was looking forward to finally belonging somewhere, and you've ruined it! I just want to DIE!"
Velvetshadow wasn't a patient Pegasus. It was probably one of her worst flaws. Next to, of course...her temper.
"Guess what Luna, it's not all sunshine and buttercups for ME either! I've waited ALL my life, LITERALLY ALL MY LIFE to be matched with someone! It is my PURPOSE in this life, why I was born! And then finally I get matched, the last one of all my friends, and the first day here she tells me I'm not GOOD enough for her! Well sorry your majesty, but everything isn't always about YOU! And if you want to die so bad, then WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE?"
She didn't mean to say it, and once it came out she wished she could take it back. Why didn't she just keep her mouth shut for once?
Luna stared at her, her eyes filling with more tears.
