Chapter 10
The seven snuck outside and walked far enough out into the desert so no one would be able to hear them.
Greed took bets on who would win. Their bets consisted of two stones of Father's crystal energy. The odds were 3 to 2 in Envy's favor.
Wrath and Lust were betting on Edward.
"Get ready!" Greed said.
Envy turned his hand into blades. "I like this strength. Get prepared Pride, I am going to cut all your limbs off and see how fast you regenerate."
Wrath gulped.
Edward touched a stone and it turned into a scythe. Edward looked at it surprised. He normally had to clap his hands together.
"Get set!" Greed said.
Edward got ready and so did Envy.
"Fight!"
Envy ran at Edward, slashing and hacking, but missing Edward as Edward's agility came in.
Sloth was the strongest and fastest, Lust had long rang attacks, Wrath's wrath never gave up in a fight, Envy was the most aggressive, Greed was the best defensive fighter, and Pride was the most agile.
"Stop being so acrobatic and fight!" Envy yelled, trying to cut Edward as he fell into a backflip. "You're pissing me off!" Envy lunged.
Edward planted the scythe's end into the ground, spun around the pole and nailed Envy in the face with a kick.
Envy fell to the ground. "You filthy little ant! How dare you?!" Envy screamed as he slowly got up, his face regenerating.
Edward smirked. "Where is your pride Envy? I would accept my defeat."
"You didn't win!" Envy charged at Edward, blindly wide open.
Edward picked up his scythe and swung it, cutting the homunculus in two.
Envy's legs disappeared, but Envy's top part regenerated his waist and legs. "You filthy little… you think that you are better than me?"
Edward shrugged. "I am Pride."
Envy attacked again.
Edward tripped him and cut his arms off.
Envy regenerated.
"Envy, I am pretty sure that I won. "Let's call it a draw. I am tired of killing you." Edward turned his weapon back into a rock and walked over to his sibling. He offered him a hand.
Envy grabbed Edward's hand and pulled him down as his other hand stabbed him through the chest.
"That's cheating!" Wrath called.
Envy got up with Edward still on his hand blade. "All is fair in war, right Edward?"
"Right Envy." Edward said as he coughed up some blood. Edward kicked Envy's leg spun around and pinned him down on a hold.
"Enough you two."
Everyone was startled to see Father there.
"Pride. Envy. What is this about?"
"A human quarrel, Father." Edward said, bowing.
"A human quarrel?"
"Yes. Envy had cheated me in a fight when we were humans. I had lost an arm and leg; he even killed Wrath's sister."
"I see. But you have been reborn. You are siblings now, children of my life energy."
Edward and Envy nodded.
"I suggest that you get to know each other. You have an eternity to spend in each other's company."
