You can tell me Charles replied, Anya stared at him in disbelief, her eyebrow raised.
So now I'm important? Last time I checked, we're not in good terms

Anya's face turned red, so that's how it is? Anya told herself, and she replied Maybe. I don't see why we can't. Agent McTaggert isn't the only one who knows how to kiss a man and gave a wink to Charles, which made him cough. I win
"It's pretty messy out there" Hank informed them as he looked through his window, they were now in Cuba.
Russian Battleship:
"From the Kremlin, sir. New orders. As of 1025 hours, the cargo vessel Aral Sea is hereby ordered to reverse course and return to port in Odessa" the Russian soldier broadcasted, and turned to his other radio.
"Aral Sea, come in" but nothing responded
The soldier repeated for the Aral Sea to turn around, louder this time on his radio
Charles used his telepathic powers on the Aral Sea, "The crew of the Aral Sea are all dead. Shaw's been there" Charles told Erik and the others.
"He's still here, somewhere" Erik blurted out
"He set the ship on course for the embargo line" Charles said, telling them Shaw's plan.
"If that ship crosses the line, our boys are going to blow it up. And the war begins" Moira said, but Charles was quick to respond "Unless they're not our boys"
Charles used his powers, then a missile was fired from the Russian Battleship. The missile was fast, but Hank was faster, seeing that a missile was about to hit the plane, he steered the plane and avoided it. They were all caught by surprise, Raven gave a startled scream, Anya hit her head on her seat. Charles was shouting at them to hold on. The missile hit the Aral Sea before it crosses the embargo line.
"A little warning next time, Professor" Hank told him,
"Sorry about that. You alright?" Charles asked looking at Raven.
Anya looked over at Charles and said, "It wouldn't hurt to inform us first next time, Professor"
"That was inspired, Charles" Moira told Charles giving him s smile.
"Thank you very much, but I still can't locate Shaw"
"He's down there. We need to find him now" Erik said, while gritting his teeth.
Charles shouted at Hank, "Hank, is there anything unusual on the radar or scanners?"
"No, nothing" Moira answered,
"Well , then he must be underwater. And obviously we don't have sonar" Hank told, upon hearing that Erik made a sigh
"Yes, we do" Banshee answered, and Charles smiled realizing it. Banshee, Charles, and Erik removed their safety belts and stood up. Anya and the others watched the guys as they went for the back of the plane.
Shaw's POV
Shaw was wearing his metal helmet on with Azazel in front of him "They are ready for war. We just need to strike another match to light the fuse. And we still have the most powerful weapon of all. Me. Turn the nuclear reactor to 100% output and make sure I'm not disturbed" Shaw instructed Azazel, which in turn gave him a nod, and then Shaw walked away.
End of POV
Charles ordered for Hank to level the plane, and the three of them made their way near the door. Banshee noticed Erik getting near him again, "Whoa! You back right off" Erik held his hands up and stepped back, Banshee was not getting a repeat of what happened on the satellite. "Beast open the bomb bay doors!" Banshee shouted, the air went in, making it hard to hear. Charles turned to Banshee, and grab a hold of him, "Remember! This is a muscle. You control it!" pointing at his throat. "You'll be in here the entire time!" Charles pointed his head, "We'll see you soon! On my mark! Three! Two! One! Go!" Banshee jumped, and used his vocal cords then dove underwater, he used his voice again, and was rewarded.
"Banshee has got a location on Shaw" Charles happily announced, and turned his attention on Erik, "Are you ready for this?"
"Let's find out" Erik answered back with confidence. Now, Erik was hanging on the wheels, his hand stretched, searching for the metal submarine where Shaw was hiding. Charles saw that Erik was trying hard,

Erik seemed more relaxed, and just then he was able to pull the submarine from the water. Then, Riptide came out of the submarine and saw the X-men, he stared at Erik angrily before making himself a tornado. Hank turned to his window and saw the tornado coming towards them, "Hold on, guys. It's gonna get bumpy"
Charles was shouting at Erik to hold onto his hand but Erik was holding on for dear life, the X-Jet was now caught by the tornado. Erik finally let the submarine crash on the land. The X-Jet was controlled by the tornado, and they were sent crashing on land. When Erik and Charles were inside the plane, Anya immediately used her powers and put a barrier around the plane. The plane rolled and finally stopped.
Anya released the barrier and looked around, it seems everyone was safe. Erik made his way to Raven and released her, and Charles went over to Moira and helped her on her feet. Raven released Alex, and Erik turned to Anya. Anya fell on his arms, and he set her down.
"Are you alright?" Erik asked her, Anya nodded, panting for breath. Erik moved in closer to her ears, "Nice job on the barrier", she quickly replied thanks. Charles saw the moment between the two, but he shrugged it off. Alex came up to her and offered her his hand, "Ready to fight?" Anya stood up taking his hand, "You're asking me?! Bloody hell yes"
"I read the teleporter's mind. Shaw is drawing all the power out of his sub. He's turning himself into some kind of nuclear bomb" Charles said, Moira was in panic.
"We got no time. The Geiger count is going out of control." Charles turned to Moira and said "Moira, this is what we're gonna do. Get on the radio and tell them to clear both fleets out immediately."
"I'm going in" Erik shouted,
"Beast, Havok, back him up. Erik, I can guide you through once you're in, but I need you to shut down whatever it is that's blocking me, then we just hope to God it's not too late for me to stop him." Charles instructed, "Got it" Erik answered, Charles wished him good luck and Erik went outside. Raven followed but she was stopped by his brother, "I'm going to help them" she protested, "We don't have time for this. If anything comes in that entrance, you're taking care of it, yes?"
"Fine" Raven answered forcefully.
"Where's Anya?" Charles asked, too late Anya was already with the guys.
Anya what the hell are you doing?! Charles said inside her mind, What does it look like? And stay the hell out of my head please

I came back, because of this. I want to fight. Not just for me but for all of us. If I die, then so be it, but I'm not going to die without even trying. So now you had it, you leave me alone, because you're taking half of my concentration.
Charles was left dumbfounded, he just smiled and told through his mind Go get them then!
Havok shot his beams at the enemy, Riptide got hit and landed on the ground. Azazel suddenly turned up behind them. Azazel was the first to attack, Hank blocked him and punched, but he missed and Azazel was able to get a hold of Hank, and Alex got caught on his tail, and they vanished. Erik ran to the submarine, taking a big chunk of metal from the sub and crushed Riptide with it, cutting him off on his attack. Anya was left to battle with Angel, Angel blasted her fireball at her, but she blocked it with her barrier, Anya climbed the sub and jumped, landing on Angel's back, and they fought with each other.
"Erik, make for the middle of the vessel. That's the point my mind cannot penetrate. We have to assume that that's where Shaw is" Charles said, leading Erik, eventually he was able to disable the nuclear reactor and he made it to the middle of the vessel, and Charles lost him.
Anya was thrown off, she got a cut on her head. Angel looked at her and teased, "Huhu, why don't you call your sister for help huh?" Anya glared at her. Anya made barrier and she levitated herself. Angel threw a fireball at her but Anya deflected it. Anya made a barrier and threw it at Angel, it hit her and she was sent flying.
He's gone Anya heard Charles through her mind, What do you mean gone?
He's gone into the void! I can't communicate with him there!
He'll come out eventually. I hope. Anya answered.

Oh thanks for asking, currently fighting a flying bitch who throws fireballs at me.
Angel threw another fireball at her, and flew away. Anya flew and followed Angel around, Angel saw Alex and threw a fireball at him, damaging his suit.
Anya didn't notice Angel, and she grab a hold of her from behind, Anya elbowed her on the head, and Angel let her fall on the ground. Angel got a hold of Banshee and Alex, and threw a fireball at his wing, gratefully Banshee and Alex landed safely, and Alex grabbed his chance and gave her a shot with his beams damaging her wings, she landed on the soil with a thud. Anya, Banshee and Alex gave each other a high five.
Erik POV
Shaw was holding Erik, by his head. "Everything you did made me stronger. It made me the weapon I am today. It's the truth. I've known it all along. You are my creator" Shaw smiled at him, glad that he realized now, but then he was tricked, Erik was able to remove the metal helmet on Shaw's head. "Now, Charles!" Erik shouted, and Charles froze Shaw.
"Sorry Charles"
"Erik, please. Be the better man"
"It's not that I don't trust you"
"Erik there will be no turning back─"
Charles was pounding the metal, "NO! Don't do this Erik!" Charles screamed but he didn't have a response. Erik killed Shaw.
Erik came out, showing them Shaw's corpse.
"Today our fighting stops! Take off your blinders, brothers and sisters." Erik pointed at the ships direction, while making his way to Charles "The real enemy is out there. I feel their guns moving in the water, their metal targeting us. Americans, Soviets, humans, united in their fear of the unknown. The Neanderthal is running scared, my fellow mutants! Go ahead Charles. Tell me I'm wrong" Charles discovered that it's true and gave a signal to Moira.
"Fire!" ordered the Americans and Soviets hundreds of missiles were fired, aiming at them, then suddenly Erik stopped the missiles, turning it around aiming at the humans.
"Erik, you said so yourself, we're the better men. This is the time to prove it. There are thousands of men on those ships. Good, honest, innocent men! They're just following orders" Charles said, reasoning out, but Erik didn't budge.
"I've been at the mercy of men just following orders. Never again" Erik looked at Charles and released the missiles.
"Erik release them!" Charles shouted, but Erik was too determined. Charles screamed no and lunged at Erik, they both fell on the ground. Erik lost control of some of the missiles.
Charles tried to remove the metal helmet, but Erik elbowed him on the jaw. Hank and the others tried to help, but they were pushed away by Erik, leaving Anya and Raven the only ones on their feet.
"Erik, stop!" Charles tried to remove the helmet once again. Erik was straddling him, he punched Charles square on the face.
Just then bullets came flying out of nowhere. Moira was shooting at Erik, but when he realized this he used his powers and moved the bullets away from him.
"Aaaaahh!" Charles screamed in pain, Erik turned his back, and found that Charles was hit by a bullet. Charles was lying on Erik's hips, his head supported by his hands.
"You. You did this" Erik glared at Moira, and chocked her with her own necklace. Charles begged him to stop, "She didn't do this, Erik. You did" Erik released Moira, and stared at his friend.
"Us turning on each other, it's what they want. I tried to warn you, Charles. I want you by my side. We're brothers, you and I. all of us together, protecting each other. We want the same thing" Erik talked to Charles, "My friend, I'm sorry but we do not" Erik signalled Moira to come at his side, cradling Charles. Erik stood up, facing his fellow mutants.
"His society won't accept us. We form our own. Who's with me? No more hiding." Erik said, and extended his hand. Raven began to walk, looking to Erik or her brother, but eventually she went to her brother, they had a brother-sister conversation, Raven loves her brother but Charles chose to let her go and join Erik together with Azazel, Riptide and Angel.
Erik made his way to Anya and whispered to her ear, "How about you? Join me, Anya. Charles does not deserve you, you don't deserve living in his society" Anya stared back at him, "I think I'm staying with Charles, Erik. Thanks for the offer"
Erik looked at her in regret, but he grinned, "Well for now you are. See you, Anya" after telling his goodbye, Erik vanished together with his companions.
Anya and the others ran up to Charles, "We're going to take you to the hospital, Charles" Moira said, Charles tried to move but he can't, he was groaning in pain. "Don't move, Charles" Hank said, "I think I cant. I can't feel my legs, Hank…I can't feel my legs"

Xavier's School
Anya was a faculty at Xavier's School for gifted youngsters. Anya was inside Charles' study, talking about the future lesson plans, when she noticed that Charles was not himself, "Professor?"
Anya tried again, this time tapping his shoulder, "Charles?"
Charles stared at her, "I'm sorry, Anya. I was preoccupied with something"
Anya made her way inside his mind, Are you sure about it?
It's hard, but it's the only way I can protect her, and us.
Moira knocked and entered Charles' study, Anya greeted her with a smile, "Good morning, Moira"
"Same to you, Anya. It's time for your morning walk, Charles" Moira informed Charles, and they went outside
"So how many students do you think we'll have here? Once you get the academy up and running?"
"As many as I can manage, and possibly more"
"You know one day the government is going to realize how lucky they were to have Professor X on their side" Moira patted him, Charles smiled it off.
"I suppose I am a real professor now, aren't I? Next thing you know, I'll be going bald. We're still on the government's side, Moira. We're still G-men. Just without the "G""
"No, You're your own team now. It's better. You're X-men."
"Yes, I like the sound of that" Charles chuckled, and he called Moira's attention.
"For us, anonymity will be the first line of defence"
Moira moved closer to him, staring at him "I know they can threaten me all they want, Charles. I'll never tell them where you are. Ever."
"I know you won't. I know" Charles grab her chin, and they kissed, and then he erased her memory.

Charles was left with nothing, after he lost everything, but not everyone. Anya and Hank stayed by his side during his dark times. One night, Anya heard call from inside her mind, her sister Emma was asking for her help. Anya woke up, it's been weeks since she last heard from her sister, yes she made her own choice in joining Erik, but she was still her sister. Anya's going to find Emma, no matter what. Anya left Xavier's School without a word.
