Ch. 10

A/N; God I'm back. It's been so long since the last update. Hopefully the people who have been waiting will still read and review the story. I think it's time to get back to it, and hopefully you will like Ch. 10.

Sasuke laughed insanely as he engaged both Sai and Daremo. The mark proved to be a deciding factor in the battle as he was able to take on both of them much to their shock.

Sai and Daremo breathed heavily as they conveyed to each other.

"How is it possible that we are losing?" Daremo asked breathlessly frustrated. Sai looked at his comrade and pulled a scroll out.

"We are not powerhouses like Naruto. This boost seems to give Sasuke a berserker-like boost." Sai explained as a pack of lions quickly formed around him.

Daremo looked to Naruto's unconscious form and scoffed, "If we can handle Naruto of all people, then we can handle this wannabe." Sai nodded in agreement. They both got ready as Sasuke neared them.

"You two disgust me. Naruto was strong… stronger than both of you. But you tamed him. You caused his weakness, and with you two dead then maybe his strength will return." Sasuke growled darkly as the marks around his body burned brightly. His purple chakra swirling violently around him.

Naruto and Sasame had stopped after feeling the burst of malevolent chakra where their teammates were.

Sasame gasped and turned to Naruto, "Let's go, we have to help them." Naruto seemed to not be paying attention, and growled angrily.

"You go, Sasame. There is something I have to take care of. I will be there shortly. I'm right behind you," Naruto said his eyes narrowed.

Sasame gave him a concerned look, "Are you sure? Can't it wait until we help our friends?"

Naruto shook his head and gritted his teeth. Sasame noticing his once blond hair turning into crimson red. "No, go now. I'll catch up to you." Sasame nodded once before going ahead.

Naruto growled once again, "This better be important, demon." He closed his eyes in a meditative state and slipped into his sub consciousness.

Naruto watched as the Kyuubi had sat there laughing for the past couple of minutes. He sneered and asked, "Are you done?"

The Kyuubi stopped and grinned darkly, "You really don't remember, do you?"

Naruto crossed his arms and asked, "What am I supposed to be remembering, demon?" Suddenly he was hit with visions of blood, slaughter, and his voice laughing insanely.

"You don't remember the death you brought, the massacre you wrought, the fear you put in the villagers? But more importantly, you don't remember the absolute power you held." the Kyuubi stated and Naruto shook his head fervently.

"No, the only thing I remember is Danzo-sama breaking me free from your control." Naruto responded which caused the Kyuubi to roar with laughter.

"The only thing controlling you was you. Sure my personality may have rubbed off on you, but everything you did was because you wanted to do it," the Kyuubi said, his nine tails wagging violently.

Naruto shook his head once again and turned his back on the fox, "I don't wanna hear your lies anymore. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to help my friends."

Suddenly he was hit with a massive wave of killing intent. Naruto gritted his teeth as the Kyuubi growled out, "You will do well never to turn your back on me. Especially considering most of your powers comes from me. Especially since I kept you alive when you were supposed to be long dead."

Naruto looked back shock plastered on his face, "What are you talking about?"

The Kyuubi grinned once more and said, "Come closer, young one. And you will see exactly what I mean."

Naruto didn't trust the fox as far as he can throw him. He knew there was an angle being played here, but he just couldn't figure it out. "If you're lying, don't expect me to come back here," Naruto threatened.

The Kyuubi waved his threat away and responded, " I have no reason to lie boy. After all, it isn't a lie if it's your memory."

Naruto walked over to the cage and tensed visibly when the fox crept closer to the cage, and beckoned him into the cage. Naruto exhaled heavily before steeling his resolve. He walked into the cage and was instantly shown visions.

He watched as a younger version of him was backed into an alley by a mob of villagers. He heard yells of "Kill the demon," and "Finish the work of the Yondaime." He growled knowing first hand the ignorance of the villagers. But he didn't believe they would take it this far.

"What the hell is this?" Naruto asked angrily his fists clenched as he watched the villagers beat his younger self. He received no answer as the vision continued.

"Please help me," his younger self shrieked in pain as he cried in a fetal position as the villagers beat him.

"I will end the pain for you boy. All you have to do is give in," Naruto narrowed his eyes knowing exactly who that voice was and watched as his younger self agreed.

Naruto felt the force of the Kyuubi's power fill the alley as the villagers backed away in fear. Watching his younger self's transformation filled him with dread as his younger self cackled with mad glee as he got down on his fours and attacked the crowd.

The villagers shrieked in agony as the young boy tore into them like a ravenous wolf. The young boy laughed insanely as dark power filled him and his claws ripped into a young woman.

Naruto watched horrified as he watched his younger self grab a man begging for his life and he casually slit the man's throat. He was then thrust back into the room with the Kyuubi.

"What the hell was that?" Naruto asked horrified already knowing the answer.

The Kyuubi grinned insanely and answered, "That was you. You were going to be killed by those villagers, and you asked me to help you and I did,"

Naruto shook his head while muttering "Impossible." The Kyuubi silently cursed his vessel's stubbornness, and had to force down a growl. He just had to get through this tedious explanation.

"Not impossible boy. After that, you awoke in the hospital and they planned to imprison you. Until that old man Danzo took you, and trained you to become a ninja," the fox explained.

"Why don't I remember this?" Naruto asked. He was pretty sure that he would remember something like this… this slaughter.

"That's simple. Danzo couldn't control you because you wouldn't allow yourself to be controlled. So he decided to use his Sharingan to put you in a genjutsu, effectively controlling you. Everything you were was wiped out, and you were fed a story that he saved you from my influence. When it turns out that you are being influenced yourself."

Naruto looked at the fox in shock and was about to call the demon a liar, but the visions he were seeing if what the fox was saying were memories.

"Show me the memory of Danzo using his Sharingan," Naruto said causing a shit-eating grin to form on the demon's face.

Naruto was then thrust into a another memory, but this one showed him bowing to Danzo. The first thing he saw was Danzo's left eye that showed a Sharingan spinning. " You have been to uncontrollable. I'm sorry it has come to this, but you gave me no chance."

Naruto looked at his master shocked, and anger quickly replaced the emotion. He didn't noticed but his hair started to shift from blonde to his infamous crimson red. He found himself looking at the Kyuubi once again.

Seeing the transformation affect his vessel once again caused the Kyuubi to grin evilly. 'A simple push should do it,' he watched as his vessel shook with anger.

Naruto couldn't believe it. The thought that the demon could be lying didn't even cross his mind; he was so blinded with anger. 'How could he do that to me? Even now, he has me under his control. All this time, I thought that it was the Kyuubi manipulating me. It turns out that Danzo was the manipulator.'

"What about Daremo and Sai? Where they apart of this?" Naruto said to himself. "Was it all a lie? Are they even my friends?"

The Kyuubi rolled his eyes and growled, "They are his subordinates, so I wouldn't put it past them to know exactly what Danzo has done. But, the genjutsu is still on you. Would you like to get rid of it?"

Naruto looked at the Kyuubi, his eyes now red and his hair bloody red. The Kyuubi smiled insanely as he drawled, "Excellent boy. Let's get started. Although you can't use my chakra right now, you can use yours."

Sasuke charged Sai with speed he didn't have before and threw a punch. Sai quickly dodged the blow backing up. Sasuke didn't let up as he let out punch after punch. Sai back flipped and threw a shuriken, which whizzed towards the young Uchiha.

Sasuke quickly grabbed a kunai and using his Sharingan blocked the projectiles easily. He grabbed one of the shuriken and threw it back. Sai used his tanto to block the shuriken, watching as Daremo blew smoke out of his mouth effectively creating a smokescreen.

Daremo quickly shifted into his smoke form and blended in with the smoke. Sasuke narrowed his eyes and then went through a barrage of hand seals blowing a gigantic fireball through the smokescreen.

Daremo careened out of the smoke holding his shoulder, which was smoking. Sasuke charged the young smoke-user and spin kicked him in the shoulder. Daremo grimaced in pain and using his other arm caught Sasuke's leg, and threw him towards Sai.

Sai blew a fireball in Sasuke's direction, and watched as the fireball collided with him. 'Got him,' Sai thought as he breathed heavily. When the flames subsided, the only thing Sai saw was not Sasuke's burned body but a burned log.

Sai widened his eyes in surprise before ducking below a kick. Sasuke grinned darkly as he sent a spinning kick sending Sai to the floor. Sasuke then punched Sai in the face. Sai spit out blood, and when Sasuke threw another punch Sai dodged moving to the right. Sasuke's punch created an impressive crater.

Sai moved several feet away from the boy and watched as Daremo's smoke form whizzed towards Sasuke. He shifted to his normal form, and swung his blade towards Sasuke's neck. Sasuke easily blocked the blow with a kunai and chuckled darkly.

"It seems you aren't playing around. You're fighting to kill, aren't you?" he received no answer but a punch to the gut.

Sasuke spit out blood as Daremo followed up with a punch to his face sending him several feet. Sasuke quickly recovered and landed on his feet. He licked blood off his lip and said, "This is definitely getting interesting. Although, I would have rather tested this newfound power on your teammate. Tell me. Where is Naruto?"

Sai shook his head and said blandly, "No idea. Even if he was here, you wouldn't be able to beat him." Sasuke growled and shifted out of view. Sai suddenly doubled over feeling Sasuke drive his fist into his gut. Before Daremo could react, Sasuke kicked him in his temple sending him careening.

Sasuke looked at Sai and grabbed his by his hair asking, "How about now?" He punched him in the gut several times causing Sai to spit out blood. He dropped Sai to the ground, "I'm bored of you two."

"S… Sasuke?" a voice said behind him. Sasuke turned around to see Sasame looking at him, fear and shock evident on her face. "What's wrong with you? Why are you hurting our friends?"

Sasuke simply smirked, "These aren't my friends. They are simply… practice. Until I fight Naruto." His smirk quickly shifted to a demonic grin, "You can be practice as well. After all, if I can't effectively destroy my teammates, how can I hope to be as efficient as Naruto… or him?"

Sasame backed up as Sasuke walked towards her slowly his chakra fluctuating violently, the marks covering his entire body. "I… I won't fight you, Sasuke," Sasame stammered as she gripped her kunai.

Sasuke only chuckled in response as he shifted in front of her and grabbed her by her hair. Sasame gasped in pain as Sasuke gripped her hair, "You don't have a choice, Sasame."

Sasame looked at her teammate and growled out, " If that's what you want." She swiped the kunai across his hand drawing blood.

Sasuke cursed loudly and backhanded Sasame sending her towards a tree. He chuckled darkly as he let the blood flow from his hand, "So you do have some fight in you. That's good because then this would've been boring."

Sasame got up shaking and grimaced, 'Naruto please get here fast.'

Naruto opened his eyes and growled angrily. "So how do I get rid of this genjutsu?"

"Let loose your chakra. Your surging chakra should disrupt the genjutsu, and end it. You will return to your natural state. I cannot help you, this seal is disrupting our connection," the Kyuubi explained.

Naruto nodded and felt his chakra start to surge. With his chakra surging, he felt emotions that he sure was never there. Anger, hatred, and urges he couldn't describe. He opened his eyes and couldn't help but let out a laugh. A long hearty chuckle morphed into a deranged cackle as his personality warped to what it once was.

Naruto fell off the tree he was on, and landed on the floor creating a crater. As the smoke cleared, Naruto got up and chuckled evilly. His chakra surging around him violently. He lifted his head and let out a demonic roar. "I'm BACK!" Naruto screamed.

"Excellent work, brat," the Kyuubi said amused. Naruto hadn't felt this good in a while. It was like a veil being lifted from his mind, and all previous morals were ultimately silenced. Thoughts of death, madness, and carnage surged through his head.

"I'm gonna rip the Sharingan out of that old shit," Naruto said with glee. He whipped his head towards the direction of his teammates and felt malevolent chakra.

"It seems that somebody is playing with my teammates. And they didn't even have the decency to invite me," Naruto mused as he launched himself towards the chakra.

Sasame lay face down as Sasuke sat on her body spinning a kunai around his finger. He looked towards Sai and Daremo who were still unconscious. "Kami, I'm bored," Sasuke said as he got up.

Sakura groaned loudly and shakingly got up. Sasuke looked towards her and groaned while shaking his head. "S… Sasuke… what happened?" she asked while she got up. Sasuke grinned maniacally and walked towards her.

"Nothing really. I just been so bored waiting for you to get up," Sasuke said. Sakura blushed crimson red and looked down.

"R...really, Sasuke?" Sakura asked hope in her voice. This was a dream come true for the pink-haired kunoichi. Her long-time crush finally paying attention to her, and maybe… just maybe even professing his love for her.

Sasuke nodded slowly his hair hiding the insane gleam in his eyes. He always thought Sakura to be a waste of space. A girl too busy with her infatuation that she didn't comprehend the responsibilities of a shinobi. A child who thought being a shinobi was a game.

Sasuke found himself disgusted looking at his teammate. She never did anything. She was a weakling… she was useless. And he had no use for weaklings nor would he tolerate one on his team. Putting her death on another contestant would be too easy. He nearly laughed at the thought.

His musings were interrupted when Naruto appeared beside Sakura. Sakura looked at Naruto shock and fear evident on her face. She hadn't forgotten the scene Naruto pulled inside the Academy.

Naruto looked at Sasuke and cocked his head to the side. "So the malevolent chakra is coming from you. Interesting… very interesting indeed."

Sakura looked at Sasuke seeming to notice the marks for the first time and she gasped, "Sasuke… what happened to you?" This caused Naruto to roll his eyes, and faster than Sasuke can follow, backhanded Sakura sending her flying. Sakura roughly hit a tree branch and landed with a sickening thud.

Sasuke eyes widened in surprise as Naruto groaned loudly, "Kami, I always hated her. Maybe I'll kill her, I haven't sunk my claws in anyone lately."

Sasuke narrowed his eyes and asked, "Naruto… is that you?"

Naruto looked at Sasuke and shrugged, "It depends. Which Naruto are you looking for?" Sasuke's vision suddenly turned white as Naruto's fist dug into his stomach.

'How the hell? I didn't even see him move,' Sasuke contemplated as he fell on his knees coughing violently.

"If you're asking for the boring Naruto, then you're gonna be sorely disappointed. I'm back to how I used to be. Although that may not be good news… for you anyway," Naruto placed a finger on his chin as if he was in deep thought before shrugging. "Oh well. Now let's get down to business. So who is dying first?"

The question sent a shiver down Sasuke's spine as he grinned insanely. "So you're back. That's good, I wanted to test this power I've acquired anyway."

Naruto looked down and dug into his ear, "Uhh, what did you say? I didn't catch that." Naruto spit out blood as Sasuke punched him in his temple causing Naruto to fall back.

Naruto looked surprised before an evil chuckle escaped his lips. "I see. It seems you have become more interesting than I thought. You're not stronger than me of course, but a challenge you will be." He looked at Sasuke and his chakra surged, "Give me a fight, UCHIHA," Naruto roared as he charged his rival.

Sasuke grinned darkly as his chakra surged. His chakra danced around him relishing the challenge. Finally, he would get the fight he had been waiting for.
