Chapter 10- Childhood friends!?
When the work has finished, Killua has pack everything up and right now, on his way back to the apartment. He let out a sigh as he is a bit troubled right now. One of the examples are when the workers are still trying to imitate him despite how many times Killua told them not to.
"Man, as much as I'm happy with having another job. I need to have a suit since I would be working with a company". Killua said then sigh again . `Guess I have to rent one' Killua thought since he doesn't have that much money to buy a suit.
Killua look at the sky then sigh again. He seems to have keep sighing, he need to stop this. He tries to calm himself as he didn't want to make Gon worry more than she is.
"Hmm. This doesn't look right"
Killua lowered down his head just in time to see a beautiful short haired blonde woman who seems to be lost as she keep looking left and right, she also look worried causing Killua to feel sorry for her.
Trying to get his own problem aside for few minutes, Killua walk over the woman. Who is still not realizing Killua's presence.
"Err, excuse me. Are you lost?" Killua asked politely, not wanting to be rude to a stranger.
The woman whipped her head and sees Killua. A look of doubt is shown for few second before it replaced with stern look.
"Yeah, so what? You are going to take advantage of me or something!?" She said as she took three steps away from him.
Killua look at the woman oddly, seems that she is only pretend to be tough.
"I have a pepper spray right now. Either you throw away your evil intention or you better get the hell away from here!" The woman said rummaging her bag with shaking hands but her face is stern.
Killua is now feeling stupid that he felt sorry for her.
"Fine. I'm only trying to help you since you look like you are lost but if you are fine. Then, goodbye" Killua said as he walk pass her.
Unexpectedly, she grab Killua's shirt from the back tightly causing Killua to widen his eyes in surprise. He began to look at her oddly while waiting for her explanations.
"Wait. Don't leave me alone, I'm lost and I don't know what to do" The woman said, still clutching his shirt tightly.
Killua let out a huge expressed sigh for thinking that finally she admits it. He release her grip before facing her who looked like she is about to cry.
"Alright. Where are you going? You have the address on where do you want to go!?" Killua asked.
"Ah right. Do you know where the Liverly Prime Circle 198 is?" the woman asked.
"He!? You live in that mansion!?" Killua asked.
The woman raise her eyebrow "Mansion!? It's just a villa" she said.
Killua shook his head, for he is a poor person and unable to make a difference of villa and mansion. They look the same for him, rich lifestyle sure is truly extravagant.
"So, you do know it. Right!?" the woman asked, hope is shown twinkling in her eyes.
Killua nodded "Yeah. Instead of telling you the direction, I will take you there. This is already really late and I don't want anything bad happen to you" Killua said.
"Ahh, quite a gentleman. Well then, lead the way" The woman said, humming happily.
The two walk in complete silence. Killua just leading her while the woman keep stealing glances at him which makes Killua a bit irritated but trying not to show it. After a while, he decided to ask.
"Is something the matter!?" Killua asked, hiding his irritation.
"Well, I just realized that I never ask your name. So, I'm Kurapika Lucifer, what about you? What's your name!?" Kurapika asked.
Killua takes a short glance of her, somehow there seems to be something that he missed from hearing her name. He shook his head a bit before answered "Killua Zaoldyeck"
"So, what did you do for work?" Kurapika asked, curiosity is hinted in her voice.
"I work as a miner and I'm going to have my second job soon" Killua said, surprising himself that he answer her.
"I see, but why do you have second job?" Kurapika asked again.
"Well, because I am poor and I have a girlfriend to support with some of my pets" Killua said and sighing again.
Kurapika tilt her head "Your girlfriend is not working?" she asked.
"No for two reason. One, she is blind and two, she is pregnant" Killua said, another sigh has escaped.
"Oh" Kurapika said then went silent.
Killua is totally irritated by that short answer.
"You know, I used to have a playmate when I was a child. She is blind as well" Kurapika said suddenly which caught Killua off guard.
`Yeah, so?' was all Killua thought but decided not to said it because it would be rude.
"I really miss her. We are truly close like a best friend but alas I have to move away, I hope she is fine" Kurapika said, seems reminiscing about her childhood.
"Hmm, do you know where she is right now?" Killua asked, seems he is a bit interested as well.
Kurapika let out a sigh " Honestly I don't know. I'm really worried about her since I heard that her parents have passed away. She is even blind, how would she survive in this harsh world? While I'm living in luxury!?" Kurapika yelled at the last part which makes Killua flinched.
`Well, at least one of them is having a good life' Killua thought, quite envious.
Killua look at Kurapika who look like shivering, but after a close look, he realize that she is trembling, seems truly caring about her best friend. Looking at Kurapika like that made Killua feel uncomfortable. For few moments, silence is hanging in the air.
"Hey" Killua said, out of blue.
"What!?" Kurapika said, in a small voice.
"We have arrived" Killua said as they are right now in front of the big gate around the mansion –wrong- villa.
"Oh, you're right" Kurapika said. "I'm finally back" she added, feeling happy as she open the gate and goes inside.
"That's good" Killua said as he turns back, about to leave.
"Wait!" Kurapika exclaims.
"What!? What is it?" Killua asked, truly confused.
"Won't you come inside? I would like to treat you a meal as a thank you for helping me getting back here" Kurapika said while opening the gate.
"Thanks but no thanks. Sorry but I have a pregnant girlfriend that I need to attend. She must be worried as I haven't get back home" Killua said, rejecting the offer that is quite tempting.
"Oh right. Sorry for asking you to help me even though you have someone who is waiting for you" Kurapika said, truly feeling guilty.
"It's fine" Killua said as he trying to reassure her "If I run, I might be able to make it. There's no need for you to feel sorry. My girlfriend would bite my head off if I told her that I chose to go back instead of helping you" Added Killua who knows that Gon would be punish him for neglecting a damsel in distress.
"I'm really sorry. Maybe I should apologize to her, what's her name?" Kurapika asked.
"Ah, her name is Gon Freecs" Killua said, casually.
Few moments of silence happening before it is broken by Kurapika's shout.
"WHHHAAAAATTTTTTTT!?" Kurapika exclaims really loud.
"Ouch. What's wrong with you, women!?" Killua yells, truly agitated.
Suddenly Kurapika come towards Killua who is surprised and took a step backwards but Kurapika took a step forward as their distance is now really close.
"Gon Freecs!? Her name is Gon Freecs!?" Kurapika said.
"Ye-yeah" Killua stutters, not knowing why.
"Wh- why didn't you tell me!? She is my childhood friends!" Kurapika exclaims, right in front of Killua's face
"Wha!? Really!?" Killua is truly surprised by this fact.
"Ehem! What the hell are you two doing so close together!?"
Killua and Kurapika turned towards the source of the voice. Killua sees that there stood a man in front of him that seems not really much older than him, he have messy raven hair and onyx colored eyes and he look irritated to see him for he already glaring at him and Killua doesn't know why.
"Oh Kuroro. Don't glare at him like that, he save me!" Kurapika exclaims with her hands on her hips.
"He saves you from what!?" The man named Kuroro said, his eyes are still glaring at Killua.
"I have been lost for few hours before he sees me and offered to take me home since it is already really late and he saves my childhood friend too, the one that I have been looking for years" Kurapika said.
Kuroro went silent as he look at Kurapika before his gaze is finally soften a bit while he looks at Killua.
"Sorry about that. Thanks for saving my wife and her childhood friend." Kuroro said, slightly bowing.
"Err no. I'm just doing what is right" Killua said, a bit taken aback by Kuroro's sudden change of behavior.
"Well, although I am a bit unhappy at the fact that you made my childhood friend pregnant" Kurapika said, before she added " Well, just like me though"
"Huh!?" Killua's eyes went wide, didn't know that Kurapika is pregnant as well since her behavior is not really worse like Gon.
"What's with the `huh' comment?" Kuroro asked, folding his hands. His eyes starting to glare.
"Err sorry. Just amazed that she behaves nicely while my girlfriend behavior is worse" Killua said with a bit of sweatdrop.
"Oh I see. You should be careful for if you want to live longer,for you shouldn't mess with Lucifer" Kuroro threaten, showing his fist.
"Alright. Stop threatening anyone who came towards me" Kurapika said, tapping her foot.
"Kuroro, Lucifer?" Killua mumbled, think that he had heard that name before.
He widened his eyes as he finally remembers.
~Flashbacks~
"I had already made the arrangements for you. You should be careful since the company you are going to work is really one of the biggest company in the world and it is owned by Kuroro Lucifer. Make sure not to get on his bad side" the boss said which makes Killua gulped.
"Right. I'm still wanted to live anyway" Killua said while nodding his head.
~End of flashbacks~
No wonder when Kurapika introduce herself, Killua feel there is something more in her name. So she is the wife of his boss and he even met his boss much earlier than he had anticipated. It seems that he got to his bad side already.
Noticing Killua's pale state, Kurapika goes angry at Kuroro.
"Look at what you did. He is frightened now when he never did anything wrong. Seriously, you. I can't believe that I am able to put up with you" Kurapika said.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Hey, are you alright?" Kuroro asked.
Killua began to snap out of it "Oh yeah, sorry boss! I'm fine"
"Boss!?" Kuroro raised his eyebrow.
Killua silightly bowing "Err sorry. I was the one who is going to be assigned for doing the job for helping around the company. So- err. Pleased to meet you?" Killua said, truly feeling awkward.
"Oh. I see. Well, as an apology and thank you for helping my wife and her long lost childhood friend. I think you deserve a promotion" Kuroro said.
"A WHAT!?" Killua exclaims as he was so shocked that he jump backwards.
"A promotion" Kuroro said blankly, as if it isn't such a big deal.
Killua can't believe his ears. He hasn't started working yet and he already got a promotion!? Should he consider himself lucky or what!? He is truly at loss right now.
"Anyway, I want to see Gon again. Can you show me the way at your place now!? Kurapika said as she smiles happily.
"Hu-uh!? Right now!?" Killua is definitely still at loss.
"Obviously" Kurapika said.
"I'm coming as well. There is no way I would let my wife alone to go with you and I want to see her childhood friends that she always talked about as well" Kuroro said.
"Ah, alright then" Killua said, unable to reject the offer that was made by his boss. "Let's go" Killua said again as he walks away.
"Wait. I have a much better alternative" Kuroro said which makes Killua stop and have a puzzled looks. He is about to ask a question about the better alternative but his question has finally answered as he sees the better alternative.
"Err, turn this way" Killua said, giving the directions towards the driver.
Currently they are in the limo as what Kuroro had called it. Killua is clearly uncomfortable since this is his first time to ride such a luxury car.
"Ah, there it is. We have arrived" Killua said as the limo has stopped.
The three of them goes out of the car. Kuroro ask his driver to standby on the nearby area so that he doesn't have to wait really long when they are finished.
"You are living here!? In abandoned building!?" Kurapika said, completely dumbfounded.
"What is this place?" Kuroro look at the apartment with an unbelievable look. "An abandoned house!?" Kuroro continued, his gaze is still fixed on the apartment.
Killua gets another sweatdropped. Having rich peoples to come to see his living place sure is really embarrassing. Especially when they call your living place as something that has been abandoned.
"Yeah and Gon is inside. Let us go inside now" Killua said as he dejectedly leading them inside.
Lucky for Killua, Kuroro and Kurapika are not commenting anything once they goes inside. Either they are to speechless or felt sorry for him, he didn't care. How he wished he is already arrives at his room, somehow the way towards his room seems further than usual.
"Ah, Killua-kun. Welcome back"
Killua cringed. Knowing that shrill voice is definitely belong to Naley. Right on cue, Naley is already in front of him, keep smiling happily because of the incident back there where Killua smooth talking her.
"Ah, you are back and oh my-" Naley gasp as she looks at Kuroro. "I didn't know you have a really handsome friend visiting, mind introducing me!?" Naley said while swooning and blushing.
Kurapika began to feel irritated, she immediately lock her arms around Kuroro's and giving a really scary glare to Naley. "Excuse me!" Kurapika said it with hatred evident in her voice. "He is my husband!"
Less than a second, Naley's happy mood began to shatter for few seconds before her happy-go-lucky attitude is back.
"Ah right. No matte, Killua-kun is way more handsome than him, anyway." Naley said now blushing and swooning while looking at Killua.
Killua went paled, hoping that his boss doesn't take it as an offense. He took a quick glance at Kuroro and Kurapika who seemed right now having a look of someone-shut-this-bitch-now. Getting the hint quickly, Killua goes to do so.
"Uhm well. Sorry but we need to go right now so, please excuse us and you better go back to bed. Sleeping late at night is not good for skin care, you know" Killua said, glancing at Kuroro and Kurapika in panic since they look like they are about to kill Naley.
"Ah right. Oh, I'm so embarrassed now" Naley said while looking at her skin. "Well in that case, I should go now. See you tomorrow, Killua-kun" Naley said then wink at Killua before she leaves which makes Killua feel disgusted inside.
"I truly felt like killing that annoying woman" Kuroro said while narrowing his eyes.
"For once I agree as well" Kurapika nodded at her husband words.
"Err, let's just go and see Gon for now" Killua said, hoping to make them forget about what just happened.
The three of them walk with quite a heavy atmosphere which makes Killua truly nervous. He was glad that they have finally arrived in front of his place. Killua opened the door and immediately, he is welcomed by Mike who pounced on him and giving a lick to his face.
"Ah hey there Mike. I'm back" Killua said as he pets Mike for welcoming him.
Hearing that Killua is back from Mike's bark, causing Gonta to bark as well to alert Gon that Killua has come back.
"Eh? Killua, you are back?" Gon voice rang across the room. She is currently lying on the bed.
"Gon!? Is that you!?" Kurapika immediately goes inside and sees Gon who is confused by a voice that she did not recognize.
Mike and Gonta immediately bark at the stranger but stopped when Killua told them to stop. Gon just confused on what has happened and who is the woman who called her just now?
"Gon. It really is you" Kurapika eyes started to tear up, feeling happy that she finally has met her long lost childhood friend.
Homever, Gon just distance herself from the stranger that is getting close to her" Who are you!?'Gon said, feeling a bit scared and didn't know why Killua let this stranger in.
"Gon, I don't blame you for not knowing me right now but it's me Gon. I'm Kurapika, do you remember!?" Kurapika asked, hoping that she knows.
"Ku- Kurapika!?" Gon eyes started to tear up as well from hearing that name. "My childhood friend!? It- it's you!? You are back!?" Gon said as she moves her hand towards Kurapika.
Kurapika began to cry as she takes a hold of Gon's hand. "Yeah, it's me, Gon. I have finally found you. I have always been looking for you. I- I'm sorry that I left back then. I'm glad, I'm glad that you are alright."
"Kurapika!" Gon started to hug Kurapika in which causing Kurapika to do the same. The two cry and sobbed, happy that they are reunited while Killua and Kuroro just stood there, becoming a silent witnesses for their reunion.
Moments later, the two are finally drying their tears and they began to chat to fill each other what has happened in their lives, leaving Kuroro and Killua alone.
"So they finally met. That's good" Kuroro said as he folds his arms.
"Yeah and how come Gon is not snapping at her. She always snap at me" Killua said and pouted a bit, feeling really unfair.
"Maybe because you are the one who made her pregnant so she snaps at you" Kuroro said with a smirk which makes Killua somehow agree about it.
"I didn't know that Kurapika is Gon's childhood friend. In fact, she never said anything about it" Killua said while leaning on the wall.
"Much better. Kurapika keep telling me on how she wants to find her childhood friend, to the point that I think I would go crazy. I can't believe that I didn't need to see psychiatrist for the whole fiasco" Kuroro said, somehow amused on his own words.
"Any idea on how long will they going to be keep talking with each other!?" Killua asked while looking at Kurapika and Gon.
"Few hours, I'll say" Kuroro said while rolling his eyes.
"Ouch" Killua said but amused.
"Since those two are so wrapped up with each other. How about you and I talk about business right now?" Kuroro said, looking at Killua who went paled.
"What!?" Killua almost fell over but luckily he regained his balance.
"What's with that reaction!?" Kuroro asked while raising his eyebrow.
"Well- I don't think I am really good for that" Killua said as he averts his gaze away from Kuroro's.
"Just went along. You and I are stuck with each other so deal with it" Kuroro said while giving Killua a glare.
Killua gulped "Yes sir" Killua said as he mentally prepared for the worst.
For few hours later, Gon and Kurapika have told everything and right now, they are playing with the puppies.
"It must be really bad for you Gon" Kurapika said.
Gon shook her head "Not really. I'm really happy that Killua is with me all the time" Gon said, cheerfully.
"Killua sure is working hard for you. Right now, he is going to be work in my husband company for his second job" Kurapika said.
Gon sighed "I wish I could help as well since he did try his best to feed all of us especially when I am pregnant and Gonta had kids. Either way, Killua is going to forbid me going out in few weeks, even though he pretty much know how much I hate to be isolated" Gon said and mutter on maybe Killua shouldn't have made her pregnant.
"The two of us are going to be mommies so we have to deal with it. Kuroro is going to forbid me from going out much as well. Don't worry, I will visit you often" Kurapika said with a smile and hold Gon's hand, making her smile as well.
"All right! You are truly hired!"
Kurapika and Gon both turned at Kuroro's voice. Kurapika sees that Kuroro smiled which makes Kurapika surprised since Kuroro mostly only smiles at her and barely smiles at anyone.
"What's wrong!?" Kurapika said as she comes over to Kuroro and Killua's side.
"This guy is definitely hired for my company. He could help as the head department" Kuroro said as he points at Killua.
"Head department!?" Killua said as he started to get dizzy and he feels his knees had shaken really bad and he could have fall if not for Mike who support him.
"What!? You know that position is truly important and you shouldn't give it easily just because he save me and Gon" Kurapika said, scolding Kuroro.
"Hey, I give it because he is deemed worthy for that position. Surprisingly, his business knowledge may be basic but he is able to grasp everything quickly which is truly amazing" Kuroro said.
"Ohh, well. Congratulations then" Kurapika said as she looks at Killua and offering a handshake.
"Uhh.. wait. Seriously?" Killua is still unable to believe it.
"Definitely" Kuroro said.
"Isn't that amazing?" Kurapika said then goes towards Gon to fill the details.
"Oh lord.." Killua truly fell right now, still at lost while Mike just keep licking Killua's face to make him snapped out of his train of thoughts.
