Connor open the fridge door, and pulled out the carton of juice. He walked over to the counter, and poured it into a glass. There was a knock on the door. He heard Edward get up from the living room, and walk over to the door, "Can I help you?"

"Uh, hi. I'm Connor's friend. Dropping off his homework for Monday."

"Connor there's someone at the door for you!" Connor walked over to the door, and saw Desmond.

"Hey Des," he said, and Edward walked back into the living room. Connor stepped out onto the porch, and shut the door, "Wipe that smirk off your face."

"I didn't know your grandpa was such a badass," he said, crossing his arms, "I'm assuming the motorcycle is his," Connor nodded, and Desmond pulled out the homework, "Anyways, there's math, English and history. And we have a physics lab on Tuesday, but we can look over that Monday night," Connor took the homework from him.

"Thanks. You ok Des?"

"There's a new guy, and he's throwing a party tonight," Desmond answered, "Lucy wants me to go, cause she's going, but I really just want to punch this guy in the face," Connor chuckled.

"Hey don't you get suspended now too," he teased, and Desmond rolled his eyes.

"I'm not stupid Connor," Connor raised his eyebrows, "Ok maybe a little."

"Des you're always stupid when it comes to Lucy," Connor said, "I mean, you don't have to go to the party if you don't want to. You can come over here and we can play some video games. Haytham is working late and Grandpa really doesn't care."

"I get that vibe from him. I'll let ya know," Desmond said, and Connor stepped back inside, shutting the door.

"Your friend having girl troubles?" Edward asked.

"Were you listening in?" Connor asked, and Edward chuckled.

"Ah young love," Connor walked over and sat down next to him.

"He's liked this girl for years now, but he can't work up the courage to ask her out. I don't know why," Connor said, looking over the homework, "What would you do?"

"I would work up the nerve and do it, before somebody else does," Edward said, "If he doesn't he'll regret it," Connor nodded, and took a drink from his glass.

"Desmond is weird sometimes," Connor explained, "He gets all nervous around her, and we all tease him for it."

"Your father was the same way around your mother. It was priceless. He used to come back from school all happy and when we would ask him he would say nothing, but we knew different."

"Haytham actually has emotions?" Connor asked, and Edward chuckled, patting him on the shoulder.

"Yes, he does. He's not just an emotionless shell that wanders around. He does care for you," Edward said, and Connor snorted.

"Sure, that's why he left us," Edward glanced at him.

"I can't tell you why he left, but I can tell you that if it had been his choice, he wouldn't have left," Connor raised his eyebrows.

"Why do you say that?" he asked.

"Maybe one day he'll tell you."
