Chapter 10 – Deal
"So, I guess Alice already told you about…" Edward didn't meet my eyes. I beamed and nodded. He sighed. "Are you sure, are you absolutely sure, that this is what you want?" I nodded slowly.
"Alright." He nodded. "I can see that this is what you really want. And if it is, I won't deny you of that. Especially when I want it so badly myself. But could you do a…favor for me first?" He looked into my eyes, stopping my breathing for a moment.
"Anything."
"Will you marry me?" Edward asked me. I felt my eyes widen I had sort of thought marriage was a given, so if this was his condition, then I was very happy. Unable to speak, I nodded silently. He kissed me, causing my head to spin. I threw my arms around him, and he put his hand in his pocket. He pulled away, and produced a black velvet box from his pocket. He lifted the lid, revealing the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.
"Whoa." I breathed. Then I frowned. "Did you spend a lot of money on it?" I asked.
"Depends on what you consider a lot of money." He smiled. I bit my lip. "Not a fortune, Bella, so you can relax." He slid the ring on my finger, and I gazed at it in wonder. I looked up at his gorgeous face and couldn't believe that I got to keep him forever. Somehow, good luck had found its way through the bad, in the form of Edward Cullen, my fiancée and reason for my existence.
