Chapter 9: Creatures in the club

Seven months since first night

"OK I officially hate this job."

Samuel MacEntee was in his own personal hell. He was standing in the middle of a Gotham nightclub, rave music blaring in his ears, college kids dancing erratically around him, dressed, like him, in bright and flashy clothes. Far from the rock-and-roll look he usually wore. Looking round to find his target still hadn't arrived he swore quietly before looking up to the hacked CCTV cameras observing him. As he looked a familiar voice blared in his ear;

"Suck it up Dragon. Do you want to get a drug dealer or not? Also start dancing or moving. You're sticking out like a sore thumb." Putting on a fake smile Samuel moved to the dance floor.

"I hate you."

"No you don't. And remember why we're doing this."

3 hours earlier

Green Dragon and Batwoman stood on the roof of a normal building. In front of them was the i-Hop club, a popular nightclub among Gotham's college community, particularly hipsters and ravers. In one hour it would open. Among those attending will be Hank Feshner, a college drop-out who has taken up drug dealing to college kids. His drug of choice is a new blend of ecstasy. He had grown strong enough that he now had hired security and a deal with the club owner, the owner turning a blind eye in return for a cut of the profits. He needed to be brought down and Batwoman and Green Dragon were going to do it.

"Club opens in one hour. When is Bat's guy arriving?" Green Dragon said as he looked at the club. Batwoman didn't turn from her own observations through binoculars.

"Should be here soon. Apparently she's young but good." A thump of someone landing behind them caused the pair to turn round. Standing before them was a young woman wearing a black and blue costume with a black cropped leather jacket. She had a duffel bag on one shoulder and some sort of large gun strapped on her back. Her black hair was shaved around the sides and was died blue in the centre. She had a blue mask on and a few piercings. She looked at the pair before speaking up;

"Hey, you two my contacts?" Green Dragon and Batwoman looked at the girl. Batwoman replied;

"Yeah, you Bluebird?"

"Yep that's me. And you must be Batwoman."

"Yeah. Nice to meet you." Batwoman put her hand forward, shaking Bluebirds. Bluebird then looked to Green Dragon, who was looking blankly at her.

"And you must be…"

"Green Dragon." Dragon replied, shaking Bluebirds extended hand.

"Nice to meet you. So Batman said you two needed some tech support." The three then looked once more towards the club.

"Yeah we need you to hack the CCTV cameras in there. We need eyes to spot our guy. He's a drug dealer supplying college students with a pretty violent type of ecstasy." Batwoman said while observing the club. Bluebird looked to the older woman.

"Why are you guys going after a common drug dealer? Bit low on the food-chain for us." Green Dragon answered her;

"His ecstasy has the added ingredient of the steroid VENOM." Bluebird's eyes grew hearing this.

"Yeah that sounds bad."

"Four kids are dead. Police have no evidence. We need to get it."

"Right. Well hacking the cameras won't be a problem. But to get this guy you're gonna need someone inside."

"That's exactly what I was thinking." Batwoman said, before smirking and looking towards Green Dragon. Bluebird, seeing what she was doing, also smirked and looked at Dragon. He looked between the pair before a light-bulb went off in his head.

"Oh hell no!"

"Listen I'm too old to pass for a college student and Bluebird doesn't have the right look, no offence."

"None taken." Green Dragon looked at the pair before sighing in defeat.

"What the hell do I wear?"

"There's a change of clothes on your bed." Dragon raised his head at this.

"You planned this from the start didn't you?"

"Yep."

"I hate you."

"Don't worry I have your lightweight costume here if things go bad." Dragon sighed once more before moving to the opposite edge of the building.

"I knew I shouldn't have given you a key." At this he jumped and glided off.

3 hours later

Green Dragon had now went to the bar, choosing to get a drink before he hit the dance-floor. Ordering a beer he turned round to get a better view. He was wearing a special pair of glasses that had a camera, sending a live-feed to Bluebird's computer. As he finished off the beer Bluebird screeched in his ear;

"Heads up. Feshner just entered the club. Looks like he has six guys with him." Giving no indication that he was talking to anybody he relied;

"Roger that." Batwoman then voiced up;

"Remember we need footage of a deal, the whole cycle as well."

"Got it." Dragon looked around and spotted his target. He waited until they settled in one corner of the club before ordering another beer and moving near them. Silently sipping and watching the group, there was enough people around that he was nearly invisible. In no time he spotted a party goer approach the group, talk to one of the goons and slip him some money. The goon took the money to Feshner, who looked it over before pocketing it. He then took out a small pill, passed it to the grunt who gave it to the customer. Dragon couldn't contain his smile.

"Tell me you got that." Dragon said.

"Every second. OK show time. We're coming in."

"Don't forget my gear." Dragon moved near the entrance and waited.

Outside Batwoman and Bluebird jumped down from their nest and moved to the club entrance. Two bouncers spotted the pair and blocked their entrance. One spoke up;

"Sorry, boss said no masks." The pair of women merely looked to each other looked at each other before turning to the bouncers, smirking.

"But we have a pass." Batwoman said.

"Really, were is it?" One of the bouncers replied. Bluebird answered;

"It's right here." In lighting speed a blast of electricity struck both bouncers, knocking them out cold. Bluebird lowered her shock-cannon as she and Batwoman entered the club, with patrons running out screaming.

As she passed Dragon, Batwoman dropped a package wrapped in a black leather jacket before entering into a fight with Feshner's men and the bouncers. Green Dragon immediately picked up the package and moved to the now empty coat lockers. Unwrapping it, he found a pair of bracers, combat gloves, a utility belt, his mask and a hooded black leather jacket with a green Dragon outline on the chest.

He pulled on the items and entered the brawl. Seeing a bouncer about to hit Bluebird, Dragon shot a mars hammer from one of the bracers at the bouncer, hitting him in the gut and knocking the wind out of him. Dragon then leapt forward and delivered a roundhouse kick to the bouncers head, knocking him out. Bluebird had not turned round once and was still fighting other grunts.

"I had him you know." Bluebird said as she fired her shock-cannon at a grunt.

"Sure you did kid." Green Dragon answered as he swung his mars hammer at a bouncers head.

"Green Dragon get after Feshner. We can handle this." Batwoman shouted as she kicked a bouncer.

"Got it." Green Dragon suddenly jumped out of the brawl and took off after Feshner, who had just ran through a fire exit. Dragon caught up to him, cornering him in an alley, obviously scared. Dragon couldn't help but goad him;

"Game over. Better give up if you want to get out of here with your bones unbroken."

"Yeah jokes on you." Before Green Dragon could stop him Feshner pulled out a syringe and stuck it in his thigh. Immediately Feshner roared in pain as his muscles bulged and his eyes glowed green, coming under the influence of VENOM.

"Well shit." Dragon immediately pulled out a pair of collapsible batons and got into a fighting stance. Feshner charged towards Dragon like a wild buffalo. Dragon side stepped and hit Feshner with his batons. This only enraged him further as he swung his arms wildly, hitting Dragon.

Dragon was fired down the alley, the wind knocked out of him. Even with a kevlar reinforced jacket, it still hurt. But he put the pain behind him as his enemy rushed him again. Just as Feshner reached him, Dragon leaped up and jumped over his enemy. He twisted in mid-air and using every bit of strength in his body, brought both baton's down onto the back of Feshner, who howled in pain at the hit.

Not losing momentum, Dragon landed hit after hit onto his enemy in an attempt to bring him down. His hits caused his foe to move back, but Dragon's arms were in pain because of the force needed. Just as Dragon pushed him against a wall, Feshner snapped and leapt at Green Dragon. The force knocked his baton's out of his hands.

Feshner had Green Dragon pinned to the ground, one hand around his neck holding him. He raised his free hand and prepared to end him. Dragon could do nothing but brace for the hit, praying that he would miss. However it did not come.

Instead a kunai knife flew out from the shadows and embedded itself in the monster's raised fist. Another knife flew into the opposite shoulder. Feshner howled in pain and released Dragon's neck. Seizing the opportunity, Dragon shot out a mars hammer, causing Feshner to fall backwards off of him.

Dragon jumped back and put space between himself and Feshner. Taking a second, he looked past Feshner and just spotted a dark figure, before it disappeared. Feshner got up once more and Dragon prepared again.

"MOVE!" Dragon didn't risk asking why as he leapt to the side as an arc of electricity shot out from Bluebirds shock cannon and hit Feshner. Seeing that he was still standing, Bluebird fired again and again until Feshner went down.

Bluebird approached the unconscious body. He was groaning in pain as the muscles returned to their normal size. Seeing no threat, Bluebird cuffed the man as Batwoman went to Green Dragon.

"Hey you OK?" Batwoman asked as she helped him up.

"I got my arse kicked. What do you think?" Green Dragon replied, pain present in his voice.

"Hey I'm just asking."

"I know. Sorry." Batwoman smirked at him before the pair moved to Bluebird and Feshner. Bluebird spoke up;

"We should get this guy to the GCPD."

"Sounds like a plan." Green Dragon replied. He looked at the familiar knives still embedded in the man. Thinking back to the figure who threw them he remembered seeing a symbol which meant his greatest fear has come to life.

"Who do you think threw these?" Bluebird asked, bringing Green Dragon out of his train of thoughts.

"No idea, didn't get a good look."

"Right." Police sirens sounded the arrival of the GCPD. "Here I'll go bring the cops up to speed. Can you guys bring mister Muscle to the others?"

"Yeah no problem." Satisfied with Batwomans answer Bluebird left to speak to the police. Once she was out of view Batwoman turned to look at Green Dragon, seriousness evident in her eyes.

"I know you lied. Who did this?" Knowing better than lie to Batwoman, Green Dragon answered;

"Not here. Not enough time to explain it. Just keep your eyes open. I think one of the deadliest warrior's has come to Gotham."

"Who the hell are you talking about?"

"My sister."
