Chapter 10

The Plan against Wormtail

Friday came and Remus still wasn't talking to them.

James jumped out of bed ran to wake up Sirius.

"Sirius, get out of bed!" James shouted, but that didn't wake him up. The rest of the dorm was now awake.

"James, why are you yelling other people are still trying to sleep?"

"I'm trying wake Sirius up." James answered. "I have an idea"

James left the dorm and made his way to the bathroom to fetch a bucket of water. He came out of the bathroom with a bucket fall of water. James charmed the water to be freezing and by the time he got to Gryffindor common room it was frozen solid. He tipped the bucket over Sirius's head and it smacked him in the head.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, why did you do that for?"

"I had no idea it was frozen"

"I'm sure"

"Oh, my god Sirius I am sooooooo sorry. Let's go down to the hospital wing and get your face fixed."

"What is wrong with my face?"

"It is all smashed up Sirius" Remus interrupted.

"Sirius, follow me." James said as they came out of the great hall after breakfast.

"James wait, where are we going?" asked Sirius

"Just follow me" James said. Leaving a stunned Sirius behind as he continued to walk down the stairs.

Sirius followed James out of the main entrance and went out into the grounds and down the tunnel to the shrieking shack.

"So are we going to the shrieking shack?"

"You know James you could have just told me where we were going."

"Yes we are going to the shrieking shack, but I might have changed my mind and went the long way into Hogsmeade, you never know."

"You still could have told me that."

"I didn't want any one else to hear where we are going, we can get into trouble for this."

James and Sirius walked through the grounds until they reached the Whomping willow's tunnel which leads to the shrieking shack. When the reached the other end of the tunnel they saw snuffles sleeping on the bed.

"Hey Snuffles" James shouted. "Get up."

"Bloody hell James, don't do that" exclaimed Snuffles.

"Yeah James. Do you he did exactly the same thing to me this morning except he dropped and big block of ice on my head instead." Sirius said rubbing his forehead.

"Anyway" James said happily "I have a plan."

"And that would be"

"Well we need to prove you… I mean Snuffles is innocent." James replied.

"Oh!"

"Here it is then…." James explained to Snuffles and Sirius.

"A plan to trick Wormtail we are no longer friends." James said while he ruffled his hair up.

"And how are you going to do it?" Snuffles asked

"A major fight between friends." James answered

Sirius and Snuffles just looked confused.

"May I ask a question?" Sirius asked.

"Of course" James replied.

"Why didn't you ask Remus to come with us?" Asked Sirius.

"The reason I didn't ask him to come is because I already explained it to him yesterday morning while you were sleeping. I do believe that he is already putting the plan into action." James said.

"Oh!"

"Any more questions? Am I allowed to continue?" James asked them.

"NO!" They replied together.

"We had better head back to the castle Sirius, we have to do our homework and go to bed for our game tomorrow."

"Bye Snuffles" James and Sirius said together.

They slowly made there way back through the tunnel to the castle grounds. Once they had reached the entrance hall Professor Snape saw them.

"Hey Sirius pretend to be sleep walking" James muttered under his breath to Sirius.

"Well well well, look who it is. Mr Potter and his mate Sirius Black. Why are you out of bed at this time of the night?" Professor Snape sneered at them.

"Sirius was sleep walking and I had to go and find him so he wouldn't get into any trouble."

"I DON'T believe you James, this will be a weeks worth of detentions for you both. I do NOT like it when students lie to me."

"What detention for a week, we weren't even being rude or naughty or disruptive."

"I DON'T care James and that will be 50 points from Gryffindor."

"Well then that will be our pleasure to join you in detention, when would you like us to start?"

"I will see you Monday night at 7 o'clock my office. Now go to bed otherwise it will be another weeks worth of detentions. GOODNIGHT."

"I had know idea that Snape was going for a midnight stroll. I am sooooo sorry Sirius."

"It doesn't matter, I always have more fun in detention when I am with you or Remus."

"Yeah that is true"

"I see that Peter never gets detentions any more"

"I agree its like he has become a goody to shoe ever since we have come here into the future"

"I think we had better head back to Gryffindor Tower now before Snivellous comes back and we get more detentions."

"All I can say is that I am glad that we didn't have a teacher like Snape when we were actually at school and not just coming to school for fun. The work is a lot harder now than it was when we were here any way."

"Hey James, do you think that we will have to do the exam?"

"I have absolutely no idea"

"Balderdash"

"What, who's there" Fat lady said.

"Sorry to disturb you this late my lady, but we need to get inside so that we can go to bed."

"Yeah fine" the fat lady said while swinging open to let them in.

James and Sirius walked through the portrait hole and went upstairs to the boys' dorms. They got changed in their pyjamas and climbed into their 4 poster beds.
