Chapter 10 Battle for the Children

Ame and Yuki ran to the window to look at the situation of the two Jedi outside. What they saw was the two Jedi back to back in their combat stances. Rayrsoll in a Djem So stance while Ahsoka was in her Ataru stance ready to make the leap. Ame saw the troopers surrounding them, the odds looked to be at least 15 to 1 for each Jedi, wondering what will happen to them and to themselves. Hana then grabbed the children away from the window for safety, reminding them it's not safe. She worried for her family as well as the Jedi. Who were these men here? What do they want? And, why do they want to kill us? These thoughts ran through her head as the seconds seem to go on forever in this situation.

Outside, the Jedi knew the situation was dire. They had their own safety to consider, and the children they found. They know now that the only way out was to fight their way out. The attack commenced and the two broke off. Rayrsoll went right taking on his side as Ahsoka took her left. Rayrsoll blocked and dodged every blast with a few bolts being sent back to the chests of the shooters. He cut his way through limbs and bodies as they dropped. Ahsoka stood her ground blocking and sending back the shots as well as cut them down. The fight was not over though as the troopers began to spread out in the hopes of getting a back shot on them. Rayrsoll saw that the troops' strategy and warned Ahsoka, she then invited Rayrsoll back to a back to back stance and prepared for a new strategy.

Yuki was then able to sneak to the window to see the battle. When the second attack came, she noticed them fighting, but she was mesmerized by Ahsoka, as if her moves were like a dance of aggressiveness and graceful. Rayrsoll was more precise and brutal. She noticed both but fixated more on Ahsoka. She then felt a dark presence in the forest. She had no idea what it was, but she was afraid, and it sensed her to. Ame then felt it too while hiding with Hana. They both then felt a coldness and a pain in their heads as the dark sense came to them. Fear started setting in.

The Inquisitor sensed the children while monitoring the battle. The force was strong with these new discoveries. She became intrigued by the fields they produced and decided to that it was too much collateral damage to let them get caught in cross fire. "All troops, fall back at once. The Jedi are too much." The commander in charge questioned it at first. "My lord, we have our orders to kill them." But the Inquisitor put him in his place. "Your orders are to follow my orders trooper! Now tell your men to pull back or I leave you here to die!" The commander then reluctantly pulled his men back. As they ran, he wondered and feared the consequences of disobeying an Inquisitor.

Rayrsoll and Ahsoka, relieved that the battle was over, ran back to the house to see if the family was alive. The riddled inside of the house worried the both of them. "Kids?! Hana?!" Rayrsoll called out. He then heard footsteps then figures of the family. Relief then set in for both of them. Ame was happy to Rayrsoll alive and Yuki was amazed just by looking at Ahsoka. Her take on alien life was nothing like she read in her manga. Hana then came to Rayrsoll demanding an explanation. "You two better start talking right now! Who were they?! Why did they come here?! What is going on?!"

"Ma'm, I understand there is a lot you don't understand about the situation, but if you please calm down, then all will be explained." Ahsoka tried to calm her down. Hana however; was not having it. She gave Ahsoka a stare of anger and frustration. Raysoll then stepped in to explain. "Hana, I'll explain it. Ahsoka, tend to the children, Hana let me explain."Ahsoka took the children as they guided her to their room. Hana then looked at Rayrsoll for the explanation. "We are part of a once great order of warriors that were in charge of protecting the galaxy, our galaxy. We were betrayed and now are being hunted down by the empire."

"Empire? What Empire?" Hana asked.

"Hana, I would love to explain all this, but right now we have a situation of a matter of life and death. Now you can come with us and be with people who can protect you, or stay here and take your chances with the Empire. Because all in all, they know your involved and don't take kindly to that."

Ahsoka looked in the room of the children and the strange toys they had. Yuki showed her the toys she had and Ame wanted to talk to Ahsoka. Ahsoka turned to him to see what he wanted. Ame had a look of concern in him and decided to see what was up. "Hey little guy what's eating you?" Ame didn't answer, so Ahsoka took a wild guess, her looks. "I know I look strange to you, like something you've never seen before-" Ame interrupted then.

"Its not that alien lady." Ame answered. She looked in his eyes and realized it was fear. But what was it and where did it come from.

"Well, you can tell me." Ahsoka assured him. He looked at and saw that there was reconcile with her, despite her being a stranger.

"Well, when I was hiding with mommy, I felt something, something, that was horrible. Then, I saw a shadow, a shadow that kept whispering to me. I think Yuki felt it to." Yuki overheard what Ame was saying.

"Yea I felt it to miss Ahsoka." Yuki responded. "It was like it was seeing us, even though we were hiding. I felt cold, and scared." Yuki folded her hands together in fear of what she experienced. Ahsoka put two and two together, and put together a theory she hoped wasn't true, a sith lord.

In the open field, the Inquisitor used a holocommunicator to contact the Emperor. She was finally patched through to report to her master. "My lord, I have my field report." She greeted to Palpatine.

"Please do report." Palpatine told the Inquisitor.

"I have found the Jedi. They have come to this planet on a freighter ship. I sent the troops to dispatch the two, but failed in that regard."

"I see, pitiful troopers can't even deal with one, let alone two. Why didn't you intervene? Your purpose is to kill Jedi."

"Of course master, but I have made a discovery when I was going to do so."

"And what is this discovery and why did it make you hesitant to do your job?

"I sensed a source of the force. Not just one, but two, and they were very powerful. I figure study it a bit more before making my move."

"Hm, intriguing indeed, are you sure about this?"

"Absolutely my lord."

"Very well, continue your duty and make sure the Jedi are dead. Report back once new developments arise."

"Of course my lord." The Inquisitor looked back to the direction of the house where the Jedi and family were. She walked off with a new plan and an even more determination to solve this enigma of a new possible force user.
