I have returned, and the battle begins. So how am I back you may ask, well I bought the movie on DVD, and arc one is now a few chapters from being complete.
Ch.10 The Fleet Approaches
After the talk, the group got ready for the upcoming battle, as they were telling the Ravagers the plan, Rocket said that some guy's mechanical eye was important, only for Ben and Peter to say otherwise. As they entered Xandar's atmosphere, they all headed for the ships, Ben noticed Yondu hold Peter back and whisper something to him.
"What he want?" Ben asked as they headed for the Milano.
"Just reminding me what will happen if I cross him again," Peter said as they climbed in the ship. When they took off the entire swarm of the Ravagers fleet were read it for battle. Rocket had his own ship while Ben, Peter, Gamora, Drax, and Groot were in the Milano.
"This is a terrible plan," Gamora commented.
"Hey, you're the one that said you wanted to die among friends," Peter said to her.
"Besides, I usually didn't have any form of a plan in my time back home," Ben added.
Moments later, the Dark Asther entered the planets atmosphere. The cover ships then covered their descent under the Asther, and Rocket led two other ships to shoot a hole in the ship, while enemy ships came out to defend the ship. Then they heard Rocket through the comms. "Quill, Yondu, now!"
The two ships then made their way towards the Asther, then they noticed Yondu's ship lose a wing. "Oh hell, I'm going down Quill, no more game for me boy, I'll see you at the end of this." Yondu yelled as Ben got up and headed for the exit.
"What are you doing?" Gamora asked.
"Gonna get help take ships out," Ben said as he activated the Ultramatrix. Then in a flash of green, Jetray was in his place, he then let himself out and was flying beside the Milano, taking out as many ships as he could with his rays. Even with Jetray's help though, their were to many ships keeping them from getting their.
"There's to many of them Rocket, we're never gonna make it." Gamora said.
Jetray had to admit, there was just to many ships, he could go Way Big, but he know the ship has to stay in the sky. Then enemy ships stated going down, and Jetray looked behind him to see the Nova fleet have come to their aid.
"Peter Quill, this is Delanian Salv of the Nova Corps. For the record I was against trusting you here." said Salv through the comms.
"They got my dick message," Peter said gratefully, making Jetray facepalm.
"Prove me wrong."
Then the Milano and Jetray charged straight for the hole in the ship, as they entered, Jetray changed into Cannonbolt, and rolled after the Milano.
"Yes!" Drax said as they entered and started laughing maniacally.
"Is Drax okay?" Cannonbolt asked as he heard the laughing through the comms. Peter then fired the Milano at all the soldiers that were blasting at the ship. Cannonbolt steamrolled several soldiers aswell.
"Yes!" Drax said once the ship stopped.
"We're just like Kevin Bacon," Gamora said to Peter.
"I don't know about that," Ben, now back to normal, commented. His four allies then exited the Milano and started their way through the ship.
"I can barely see," commented Drax. Groot then let the out some glowing substance in the air. The rest of the group looked on in amazement.
"This is pretty cool," Ben said.
"When did you learn to do that?" Drax asked.
"Pretty sure the answer is I am Groot." Peter told him.
"The flight deck is 300 meters this way," Gamora brought up, getting everyone refocused as they started walking.
"I want you all to know that I am greatful for your acceptance, it's pleasing to once again have.. friends. You, Quill, are my friend."
"Thanks," Peter said.
"This dumb tree here is my friend. Ben, you are my friend aswell."
"I am Groot."
"Thanks man," Ben said as he looked around, kinda concerned what he's gonna say to Gamora.
"Oh, and this green whore-"
"Oh you must stop!" Gamora said.
Next thing they knew was Nebula dropping down at them. "Gamora, look at what you have done. You've always been weak, you stupid, traitorous,-" was all Nebula could say before she was blown up by Drax.
"Nobody talks to my friends like that," Drax said as he lowered the launcher he was holding.
"Head to the flight deck, I'll shut down the power to the security doors." Gamora odered.
Ben then activated the Ultramatrix and after a flash of green was what looked like a muscled up chicken with clawed hands with a green and black shorts, along with with the Ultramatrix symbol on his chest.
"Kickin' Hawk!"
"What the hell?" Peter thought out loud.
"He's my best hand-to-hand fighter." Kickin Hawk gestured to himself. Drax was doing his best not to die laughing. As they kept moving, they ran into a group of enemy soldiers lead by a guy who seemed to know Peter.
"Star-Lord." The man said in anger.
"Finally," Peter said to the fact someone finally called him Star-Lord, only to get tossed by said man.
Groot, Drax, and Kickin Hawk then engaged with the foot soldiers. Drax using is daggers, Groot his size and strength, and Kickin Hawk his fighting prowess. Drax then noticed Peter was in trouble and threw his knives, only for either one to hit the wrong target the two then slugged it out with Drax getting slammed into the ground.
"You will never make it to Ronin." the man said.
"That's what you think," Kickin Hawk said as he delivered a violent kick to the man, then they exchanged blows, with Kickin Hawk gaining the upperhand. While this was happening, Groot was throwing and slamming people, Peter was blasting them with his guns, and Drax finally got back up as he and Kicken Hawk took turns at beating the shit out of the man. Drax than held him against the wall and grabbed the man by the machine part of his head.
"Finger to the throat means death," Drax said, learning that metaphor from Peter before pulling the part and killing the man. "Metaphor," he said to Peter as he walkedwalked over.
"Sorta," Peter said. "Oh no." Then even more soldiers ran in, but Groot then impaled a row of them before proceeding to swing around the whole group.
"The savagery," Ben commented sarcastically. Once he was done, Groot turned and smiled at the group. When they got to the door, Rocket contacted them through comms.
"Quill you gotta hurry, the city's been evacuated, but we're getting are asses kicked out here."
"Gamora hasn't opened the door." Peter responded.
"Seriously, how long does it take her to take out controls?" Ben, now as the lego gorilla alien Bloxx asked. Once they cleared the men out, Bloxx changed into Humongasaur and him and Groot started punching the door as Peter got the Hadron Enforcer ready to fire.
The door then opened and just as it did the floor behind three of the soldiers blew up. Gamora jumped up and shot one, Drax stabbed the other and Humongasaur tail whipped the last one. Peter then fired the weapon at Ronin and it nailed him right in the chest.
After the explosion that followed it seemed that things were over and done. "You did it!" Drax exclaimed, but he seemed to have said that to early.
When the smoke cleared though, Ronin was still alive, and standing. "How did he survive that?!" Humongasaur asked in shock as Ronin forced everyone back. Drax got right back up immediately and charged at Ronin, who just grabbed him by the throat.
"I was mistaken, I do remember your family, their screams were pitiful." Ronin mocked Drax as he choked him.
Ben turned into Diamondhead, and was ready to fired diamonds at Ronin's chest, but before he could fire, Rocket charges through the front of the Aether with his ship and runs Ronin over. As he did this, the ship starts to go down. Peter grabbed a now unconscious Rocket, while Gamora dragged Drax out of the way. As they were looking them over, Ben noticed the look Groot have on his face.
"No Groot," Ben said, but Groot didn't listen, his body started to extend around the group. "Please don't." Ben said as they were now encased.
"Don't Groot," a now conscious Rocket said. "You can't, you'll die. Why are you doing this?" Rocket said as he started to tear up. "Why?"
Groot, then wiped his tear with his vine. "We are Groot," was the last thing Groot ever said as the Dark Aether hit the ground.
Sooooo, I have returned to this story, and I hope you guys like this chapter. Anyway, I thought that Groot's death in this story is very sad.
