Nappa stammered, "W-What do you mean you'll have us instead?"

Cooler crossed his arms, still wearing that smirk that showed he was up to something, "I think it's only fair that I get reimbursed for my hired help being killed."

Vegeta stepped forward, "Then I will give you a dozen saiyan soldiers that were of equal power level."

Cooler laughed, "Oh no, I do not negotiate with lesser beings, especially monkeys. You shall work for me while I put this planet under marital law."

"Are you out of your mind, Cooler? The saiyans will not stand for this…I won't stand for this!" Vegeta was livid now, if he was going to be removed, he wasn't going down easily.

He took one step forward and the next thing he knew, he was on the ground coughing up blood. The big one, Doore, stood over him, "Don't you dare address Lord Cooler in such a way you shit-slinging primate!"

Zorn rushed at Doore and punched him with all his might. Too his shock, he didn't even flinch and that was the last image he saw before receiving an uppercut that snapped his neck. Bardock snarled, he had grown to view Zorn as a comrade of sorts and seeing him killed brought back memories of his crew. The barrage of negative thoughts caused him to start releasing some of his super saiyan energy. Salza's scouter beeped, "Huh? His power just jumped from twenty-six thousand to fifty-two thousand!"

Doore turned to Bardock, "How the hell is a saiyan that powerful?! Something weird is going on here."

Bardock's face twisted into a mix between a grin and a snarl, "If you must know, I've been doing lots of push ups and drinking plenty of juice."

Just as he was about to transform, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw Turles shaking his head at him. Bardock gritted his teeth, he knew he could probably take on Cooler's squadron of idiots but he knew he was no match for Cooler himself. All he would accomplish in attacking now would be his species' extinction. Reluctantly, he powered back down.

Still unnerved, Doore turned to Cooler, "Should we kill them all, my lord? A saiyan that powerful is nothing but trouble."

Cooler shook his head, "Come now Doore, last time I checked, your power was nearly six times his. You could kill him with less than five blows." He turned to the group of saiyans.

"No, we can definitely use this lot to conquer planets in the Traverse sector."

Neiz crossed his arms, "The Traverse? That place has been in the pool for years, it would even take us awhile to completely take it over. There's no way these saiyans could do it."

"It's not a matter if they can do it or not, they will do it if they wish their home planet to still be in one piece."

Turles stepped over the still prone body of Vegeta, "Lord Cooler, point us in the direction of these planets and we shall conquer them."

Cooler raised an eyebrow, "Hmm a monkey who knows when he is beaten? What is your name?"

"Turles, my Lord."

"Well Turles, it seems that you have more sense than your king, I shall put you in charge of the planetary assaults."

Turles bowed, there was no point in even trying to defy him; even with the gains he's made, he's no match for him. He motioned towards Nappa, "Pick him up, we're leaving shortly."

Nappa grumbled and gently picked up Vegeta and carried him bridal style in the direction that Turles was headed. Bardock was still glaring at Cooler; black eyes met red eyes in a visual showdown. Cooler knew he could kill this saiyan with a thought but he felt something different from this one; like there was a storm bubbling just beneath the surface and he swore he saw his eyes turn blue for a split second. Though he would never admit it to anyone, he actually felt unnerved by looking into this saiyan's eyes.

"Is there a problem, saiyan?"

Never breaking his gaze, Bardock retorted calmly, "No, my Lord, I shall be going now to complete your assignment."

Just before he was about to follow Nappa and Cooler, he felt a prick in the back of his head. He turned back towards the city and flew off in that direction.

Cooler kept watching Bardock even as the trail from his aura faded in the sky. He would have to keep an eye out for that particular saiyan. Salza approached him, "Is everything alright, Lord Cooler?"

"Yes…everything is alright," he looked at the dead body of Zorn, "Somebody clean this mess up."

Kakarot was sprinting through the streets like a wild man. He wanted to find this Lord Cooler so he could kill him and make all those who follow him run away in terror. I want to become the strongest saiyan alive! No one will be able to match me once I grow up! They'll call me Kakarot the Conqueror or Kakarot the Mighty!

He laughed at the thought of him conquering whole planets single-handedly but he was so caught up in his own thoughts, he didn't notice Bardock land right in front of him. He yelped as he landed backwards onto his butt, "Ow! What was that for?"

"Where were you headed, you should still be in the medical facility."

"I want to fight! My blood is boiling!"

Normally Bardock would be proud but today has been one bad thing after another so he was not in the mood. "You will go back to the medical facility or I'll fight you and I'll make sure that you regret those words!"

Kakarot backed down, something about Bardock's eyes made him forget about fighting. He turned behind him as Raditz flew down to the ground.

"There you are! Do you know how long it took me to-

He paused when he noticed Bardock was standing there. He looked entirely on edge and his right hand was clenched into a fist.

"F-Father, what's the matter?"

Bardock told them everything from Cooler's arrival to his decision to send them off to the Traverse Sector. By the end, Kakarot was riled up again but a smack on the head from Raditz put an end to that.

Bardock put his hands on both his sons' shoulders, "I don't know how long I'll be gone but I want you both to keep training. Get stronger so these clowns can't push you around."

With that he took off back into the sky towards Turles' ship. Kakarot looked up at his brother; his expression was a mix of confusion and trying to look brave. Raditz's right fist was trembling like Bardock's, "I want to be as strong as you father." It came out as a whisper.

Kakarot turned back towards his father's now fading aura trail, "Me too."

Nappa hooked Vegeta up to one of Turles' rejuvenation chambers. He looked around and shuddered; the ship was so dimly lit, he could barely see more than ten feet in front of him; it gave him the creeps. He heard a clanking noise approaching him from behind, he turned around and saw a figure approaching. It had the outline of a man but as he approached closer, Nappa could tell there was nothing man-like about this thing. It was taller than him, its' skin was pinkish-red and was covered in shining silver armor. It spoke to him using beeps and a garbled language. Nappa went into a fighting stance, "Woah man! I don't know who you are but you'd better step away form the King and I!"

Turles appeared behind the creature, "Calm down, this is Cacao. He is a cyborg who has been at my side for years now."

He turned to the cyborg, "Go and recharge Cacao, we have quite mission in store for us."

Cacao nodded and disappeared back into the shadows of the ship. Turles turned to Nappa, "What are your power levels?"

Nappa scratched his hair, "Uhhh…last time it was measured, it was about twelve thousand. The King's was around eighteen thousand."

Turles shook his head, "That's not good enough; Cooler's Armored Squadron alone could kill you a hundred times over."

Nappa fumed, "Oh yeah? What's your power level then, hotshot?

"Last time I checked, it was approaching three hundred thousand."

Nappa opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Turles took his silence as an agreement to his previous statement and walked out of the med bay. Nappa stared at the now recovering king. Just what are we getting into here? Nappa thought to himself.

Bardock was a couple miles from the ship when he felt a decently powerful person approaching him. He frowned; it was too strong to be Cooler's men but not strong enough to be the Armored Squadron or Cooler. Due to the glare of the sun in front of him, he couldn't tell who was approaching so he stopped and waited. The person nearly ran into him and Bardock's eyes widened in disbelief when he saw who it was. Dressed in traditional saiyan armor now, the person with the high power was none other than Broly. He didn't even seem surprised to see Bardock, in fact he didn't seem to be displaying any kind of emotion. Bardock's mind was trying to process the fact that this kid seemed to be possessing power greater than what most saiyan adults every reach in their lives. Broly's voice interrupted him, "Is there something you wished to ask me, Mr. Bardock?"

Mr. Bardock? Bardock mused, unless they were a lord of some sort, saiyans addressed each other on a first name basis.

"Uhh where are you heading? I assumed Turles would make you stay with him."

"Mr. Turles said I should get closer to my heritage and train with other saiyans to help with my battle instinct. I regret to say that I'm not as aggressive as he would like." Broly was very well spoken for a child, especially by saiyan standards.

"That's probably a good idea, you can train with my two sons Raditz and Kakarot."

Broly's brow furrowed, "Did you say…Kakarot?"

"…Yeah…why?"

"Uhh nothing sir, it's just…that name sounds very familiar for some reason."

Bardock raised an eyebrow; he had a weird feeling about this kid. He had never seen a saiyan child act so…blank. He wondered if he hit his head as a child.

"I see…well I won't keep you any longer and I need to hurry and get to the ship."

Broly nodded and sped off towards the city. Bardock reached in one of the compartments in his pocket and pulled out his scouter. He hadn't really had a use for it in recent years but he was curious to just how strong Broly was. He clicked a few buttons and waited for the numbers to appear. When they did, Bardock let out an audible gasp. T-This can't be right! There's no way he's that strong at this age, it's just not possible!

The numbers were still on the display and they read: ten thousand. The average low class saiyan baby was between fifty and one hundred; two hundred if you were really lucky. The elites tended to have children that were born with power levels around a thousand but this was just ridiculous. This child was as powerful as he was back when he attacked Frieza's ship with Zorn. When Bardock snapped back to reality, he realized he was sweating. He was going to have a long and detailed talk with Turles when he had the chance. He powered back up and took off towards Turles' ship.

What's this? Another chapter in the same month?! Witchcraft!

I have planted the seeds for many things later on in this story. Once they get to the Traverse, there is going to be a good bit of fight scenes in the up coming chapters. I know I sort of broke the mold of typical DBZ fanfiction by not having much combat yet but I also want a decent plot to fit the fights. Also since unlike most, I picked an era that doesn't have much canon/movies to go off of so I have to come up with all this unaided (not discrediting the talents of other writers who pick the modern timeline to make a fic at all. I'm just stating that it is a bit harder when you have nothing to base your stuff off of.)

I'm still debating how I want Kakarot to turn out; part of me wants him to be like the DBZ Multiverse version and part of me wants him to be sort of like a more nonchalant version of Bardock. Maybe a mix of them both? Not sure, he still has puberty to go through.

As for Turles, he has a pretty high power level right now due to him partaking in the serums along with training on his own. He is the strongest non-super saiyan right now...but will that last?!

I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
