CHAPTER # 10: TO GOOD TO BE HAPPY
It was all too favorite class of night class students 'THE ETHICS' not due to the subject but due to the person teaching it, TOGA YAGARI the famous vampire hunter now the president of hunter association.
Although it was first time for kasumi to attend one as she had recently changed her subjects which means she probably hadn't met yagari before but she had heard that he is some famous vampire hunter.
Toga yagari class is usually comical as they are always busy to pull their sensei's leg and yagari doesn't hold back either. The atmosphere is not dark like old days because now vampire and hunters had join hands.
Yagari was late first time in forever due to some unknown reasons, so class was full of gossips and chatters of night class students few were quite like kasumi who was doodling at her notebook and kaname was reading as usual but in real he was observing kasumi secretly as he wanted to know about her more.
Chatters died quickly as a tall young man with shoulder length black hair curled from their tips walked in with cool purple eyes. He was wearing his usual dark cloths and brown leathered book in his hand. His eyes were so radiant that kasumi found herself attracted to them.
Sensing her intense gaze yagari looked up and their eyes met, they were starring at each other for few seconds before kasumi blinking heavily and looked away earning a frown from yagari.
Kaname witnessed this scene with pure curiosity before chatter from a random vampire girl took his attention.
"Didn't he use to have a eye patch?"
"Yeah his both eyes looked fine, had they discovered a cure to this?" other replied.
Their gossip died as yagari took his place at the podium and opened his book.
"Today we will be having a open discussion session, take any of the ethics branch and explain it with your partners" said yagari.
"Do you really think the geniuses like us need a partner?" complained aido.
"Yes they are genius except for you" answered yagari earning few chuckles.
"Just pair up and start already" he ordered.
After few seconds of chaos everyone settled down with their partners except for two, sitting far away from eachother with no will to move.
"I said everyone pair up or I will personally add their names to my execution list" yagari announced mainly refereeing kaname.
Kasumi head shot up at the statement because she thought it was her but found that the other lazy person like her was kaname. Ruka was standing near kaname waiting for her chance to choose by him even though she was already paired up with akatsuki.
"Don't waist your energy you will need it later" kaname replied coolly.
Kaname stood up and his eyes first met kasumi for several seconds.
~KASUMI'S POV:
As yagari-sensei finished his threat I followed his gaze and found he was saying that to kaname other then me. So it means he's the one left too. 'WAIT, say I have to pair up with him' I said to myself as there go's my good mood.
I was happy after a long period of time due to my encounter with hitoshi-Ni-Chan last night, since the ring glowed it really lightened my heart too and about all oni-chan still love me is the beast I could wish.
I shut my eyes tight reciting in my head
'I will not let him ruin my mood'
'I will not let him ruin my mood'
'I will pretend as he doesn't exist'
'He deserve my rage'
'I will keep my self calm'
Until I felt a presence beside me, Opening my eyes met the same colored as mine Wine colored eyes 'kaname eyes'. I exhaled heavily; I didn't know I was holding it. He closed his eyes and inhaled my scent; this gave a little color to my cheeks. I shook my head mentally and tore free from his strong gaze.
"Good morning, I didn't get a chance to greet you today" velvet like voice rang in my ears.
This polite tone of his took me aback, as it reminded me of that disastrous night when I first met him and he have said those words in same tone 'wait here I will be back'.
His words played in my head. This boiled rage in me and my mind recalled all those things he said to me the night before yesterday, stabbed me with his sharp words and most of all I hadn't committed a sin I was punished for.
Someone cleared his throat and my head spun at the noise. It was kaname waiting for an answer to which I just managed to nod. I don't care if he thinks I am an insane person.
After that we did not talk for whole hour, our turn came and we gave or own points on the topic without discussing with each other as we both were obvious geniuses.
The hour seemed like eternity but thank God it came to an end. I picked up my stuff and aimed towards the door, I tried to surpass it in one swift moment but my clumsiness got the beast of me and my foot stuck in door frame resulting my books getting knocked out on floor.
First I thought of leaving them there but somehow I kneeled and started picking them up. A soft hand brushed through mine sending current to my spines as we were trying to pick the same book.
I looked up and saw the last person I would want help from 'KANAME KURAN'.
"Why are you avoiding me? Do you have any good reason for that?" he asked casually as if everything was smooth between us.
"I think you know better" I replied.
"I think I already gave my apologies" conflicted kaname.
"Apology without heart is no apology" I continued "perhaps I don't think that a level B vampire girl like me deserve to be friends with pureblood king like you" I ended with the most calm tone I can manage.
"ACCIO BOOK" and I summoned my pile of book from his hand performing a simple spell. With that I started walking away from him but I do hear few admiring comments on my performance by random students.

~KANAME'S POV
Today I saw a new side of her that she can speak for herself but then I wonder why she didn't spoke that night, to purify her character. This girl is sure a jigsaw to me that makes her special.
The way she keeps my away from yuki and all the pain was unique and still unknown to me. Every time we meet she gives me a new topic to think before leaving which keeps me busy and I find it easy to resist the ach.
Well this time she left more a challenge then a topic to think about, she says she can't be my friend, I know I don't had any since juri and haruka died but now I find myself curious to befriend.
And I will succeed to get your friendship no matter what, you just wait kasumi tairan.
Yagari was highly irritated by all these blood suckers around him all day and night, he will talk straight to kain today that he can not handle two shifts, he have his association responsibilities plus he had not recovered completely from his eye surgery.
Yes the surgery what was he felt back there in class when he saw that new transfer student, something strange happened, he sensed his blood doing funny stuff in his at the sight of that level B vampire girl he need to confirm his suspicion from kain.
"Hey old man" greeted yagari closing the office door with a burning stick under his teeth.
"Perfect timing yagari, I was about eat this homemade baked fish" exclaimed kain like a child.
Now yagari observed that kain had set stove on the floor and cooking fish which was on spit, sitting in awkward angle, glasses on and beaming like child. Yagari sighed at the sight.
"What do you think it's almost ready" beamed kain.
"I think nothing because I already know that you are fool who cooks in office" replied yagari in his usual tone.
"It's mean" kain cried fake.
"I am here to ask why did I felt a certain sensation in my blood when I entered a night class the sensation was far away from hunter's aura, it was something new and unique" explain yagari.
"A...AH… which class was it?" kain tried to delay the truth.
"Stop pretending and split it" yagari raged.
Toga yagari wasn't quick tempered usually his face is composed but today was something different, he need to know what's wrong with him, he need to find the truth. Kain felt his discomfort and decided to give in the truth.
After telling the whole story and exposing few secrets kain was done with his explanation. But that was too much for yagari to grasp.
"So you are telling me that the medicine you treated my eye with was basically a magic spell which was created for me by that vampire girl?" yagari asked bewilded.
Kain nodded.
"And you say she put her blood in that spell so she sacrificed her blood for me?"
"Yes" replied kain.
"Our bodies are different from humans if it doesn't accept vampire blood it is poisoned and if our body accepts…" yagari trained off in deep thoughts.
Kain knew what was coming next he recoiled a little.
"SO YOU WANT ME TO BELIEVE THAT MY BODY ACCEPTED THAT VAMPIRE'S BLOOD?" yagari burst like a burning furnace.
Kain gulped.
"YOU MEAN NOW I AM IMPRINTED ON HER AND CAN NEVER KILL HER NO MATTER WHAT?" yagari eyes were wide in realization of what he said and indeed it was true.
Yagari sank in near by chair with his head in his hands. He was disappointed on himself for accepting such a deal from a vampire. What if she had her means to destroy the association by setting her claws on him? What if she appeared in his execution list but then he will never be able to kill her. Most of all why did she do it for a total stranger like him.
After several minutes of persuasion and consoling yagari turned normal which took kain back to his happy-go-lucky personality. 'I will not let this slip so easily but at the same time I must not let kain know about my suspicions so I have to act normal' yagari decided in head.
"What you say about eating this delicious homemade fish" asked kain excitedly.
Yagari stood up and picked the spit containing whole fish and started moving towards the door.
"I guess I can help myself with it while patrolling tonight, thanks" said yagari before opening the door.
"We were supposed to eat it together" protested kain pouting.
'CLICK' door was closed by yagari from other side.
"You can not hurt her not because of your imprinting but because of she herself" kain murmured which yagari didn't miss to hear from outside.
It was second last night for yuki and zero to patrol as tomorrow all the students were going to leave academy for Christmas. They were currently guarding the sun dorm and silence between them was quite comfortable somehow yuki managed to break through it.
"So why did you call me … yesterday?" yuki added hesitantly.
Zero filched at her sudden question.
"Um…" yuki never saw zero with loss of words before.
"Please tell zero remember we are suppose to be partners?" yuki reasoned for support as curiousity was killing her.
"Only if you answer my question, honestly" zero pressed his terms.
Yuki pouted but agreed because there was no other way as zero is quit stubborn.
Zero was leaning against the wall previously; he stood straight and turned to face yuki who was standing beside her.
"Tell me yuki when kaname took you away with him what did he do? What did he said? Did he do something to you?" zero asked with dead serious tone.
Blood drained from yuki's face and she went paler.
'Could she lie to zero'
'What if she lied and zero caught her'
If he will then he will surely dig past 6 months of her life to know the truth, which yuki wanted the least to happen.
'O KAMI what have I gotten myself into' yuki cried mentally.
"TELL ME YUKI" zero ordered using a bit harsh tone.
"He discussed my relation with you, he told some of his history and how important I am to him" yuki stopped to see zero's reaction.
But he had stone face with not an inch of emotion which in real was just an act because his felt pangs of pain in his chest.
"He also said that he will always be there for me" yuki managed to finish.
Yuki tried her best not to lie and in a way all of the above was true. She didn't lied, she just hid few things like kaname said he is always there for her even though she chooses zero over him and that his and her history were same.
"Did he offer you anything?" asked zero through clutched teeth.
"NO! he didn't" yuki busted out loud as she cought the meaning that zero was asking whether kaname offered her to be one of their kind.
The answer she told now was also a truth as kaname didn't offered her that because she was already one of them by birth.
Relief flooded in zero's chest as yuki proved his all nightmare to be wrong and he exhaled the breath he was holding.
"Now it's your turn to finish the deal zero" exclaimed yuki innocently.
Zero gazed straight in her eyes and a small smile played on his lips. Yuki mouth hung open as she had seen it after almost half a year, she felt an urge to jump of zero and tangle him in her embrace.
"Yuki… I…"
A deadly scream by some ferocious animal cut zero off. The prefects ran towards the sound of commotion which was coming from academy grounds. The screams were coming from two different directions which mean there were more than one unwelcomed guest.
They both parted their ways with their weapons exposed the bloody rose and the artimis, because waiting for them were unknown evil creatures. Yuki arrived at the scene and fear was genuine in her eyes as she observed evil visitor.

Meanwhile in library kasumi sensed the evil presence inside the academy, sitting her book loud on desk she stood and ran towards to the grounds in her way she bumped in someone's chest. She tripped and a hand caught her elbow in time gazing up kasumi found same blue eyes from before.
"Where are you going?" asked yagari out of curiously.
"I have to go, they are here for me so not her" was all kasumi said before running towards her aim without caring that she was being followed by a top hunter with his anti-vampire gun out.
'BANG'
And a bullet left his gun.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK PEOPLE? THIS CHAPTER WAS FULL OF SUPRISES WASN'T IT? SINCE I HAVE A SECRET CRUSH ON YAGARI I MANAGED TO GAVE HIM SCENE'S WITH OUR HEROIN BUT DON'T WORRY KANAME X KASUMI IS THE ORIGINAL PLOT I WON'T CHANGE IT .
