This one is for you, Daisy (les-tveiterables) Song is Closer by Tegan and Sara. Hope you like it, an early Christmas gift! 3
There she stood; only half a room away yet it may as well have been half a world away. Physically close but mentally away. The worst sort of space. Unbearable with so little possibilities left to act upon. What is was about the raven haired beauty, because that's what she was to him, a beauty, maybe not in the conventional way others might perceive beauty but to him, her sass, wit, electric tongue that had the ability to delve out a lashing if needed along with chocolate, almond shaped eyes that had the ability to stare right through all anyone's bullshit. She was the worst type of distraction that he could just not get enough of. And part of him thought that she knew exactly what she did to him, exactly how she made him, the one who was never at a loss for eloquent retort, become speechless in an argument against her. It wasn't fair that she was able to do that to him and that he seemed to be able to do absolutely nothing to her.
There had to be a way he could get through to her somehow, make her as flustered as she made him, and there just had to be something he could do to her. But she seemed like steel each time she was around him, never missed an opportunity to release her wit, never let herself get flustered, nothing. It just wasn't for to him. How could he not do anything at all to her?
That was something he needed to learn to do, he needed to find a way to get in her head the way she was in his. He had to make her feel what he did. How just looking at her made his stomach do flips, his palms sweat, made his throat dry, and yet all at once made him want to run his fingers through her hair and feel the softness he imagined her skin had, and want to feel the taste of her lips. Seriously how could one person make him feel all that all at once? He hated it, yet welcomed it. Never felt more alive and yet numb. He knew Éponine was the cause of his undoing and frankly, part of him didn't mind one damn bit.
His thoughts were interrupted with a tap on the shoulder and a tug of his hand and before he knew it he was surrounded by dancing, more like gyrating, bodies and then the feel of arms around his neck. It was Éponine who had dragged him onto the dance floor and away from his space. To say he wasn't a dance would be an understatement, not only did he not like it at all, for all his talents rhythm was not one of them. She had to guide him during most of the dancing, ignoring his protests and lack of gust for the situation, he made it extremely clear that he wanted to be anywhere else but there, although that may not have been completely true, her arms around him and her hair falling over her shoulders like that made it all bearable. That's really all it took for him to start enjoying the night, with her that close to him, ignoring anyone around them and just looking into those eyes, the ones he's sure saw what was running through his mind, reading his thoughts because when he leaned in for the kiss she met his lips and help tighter to him.
I'm sooo sorry this one is really short, I just hope you enjoyed the littleness of it. The next one will be longer, I promise and I'll try to update quicker than before. This one was. Next up is Treacherous by Taylor Swift so be on the look out for that!
I love you all for reading my ramblings and actually enjoying it. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to you all and your families! Don't go heavy on the eggnog! –love from Texas 3
