Babylon 5 – Unknown Time or date

I found myself in an odd position. "Crash landed" in a large room on what could have been a ship with guards aiming very obvious weapons at me, and me feeling like I had a bomb go off on my chest. I definitely did not want to fight these people though.

I went to speak by much to my surprise blood cascaded forth and began to corrode the large desk I now noticed I was on. The guards were all yelling for me to do something but I couldn't focus. It took me a few moments to realize that the woman with the ridges was ordering the guards down, as was another human male.

Moments later a strong set of hands pulled me up and strangely held me as the woman came to me and gently looked me over. Words were spoken, but as was my usual I passed out.

Dr. Stephen Franklin was utterly shocked when Girabaldi and the Captain came in hauling his newest patient over their shoulder.

"Captain, who, what?" Dr. Franklin sputtered.

"I wish I could answer that Doctor." Captain Sheridan grunted as he and his Chief of Security laid the body on on examination table. "Can you look him over Doctor, please."

"Of course..." Franklin immediately went into Doctor mode only to have his hand jerked away from wiping away some blood.

"Wouldn't do that Doc." Girabaldi advised, "Thing's blood is caustic."

"He is not a thing Mr. Girabaldi." Delenn corrected in her usual manner. "He is in pain and very confused I would imagine." She said as he handed Captain Sheirdan the odd device the man had dropped.

"Well that's very fascinating, but for now can I have room for my new patient." Dr. Franklin demanded, more than asked. The three acquiesced and left the med bay, Delenn letting a look ling on the oddly shaped being.

CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF==== Chapter 10 =====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF

Several hours later Captain Sheridan and Delenn were once again in the medical bay. Dr. Franklin was catching them up on his patient's injuries.

"What amazes me though is the sheer amount of damage this man has been through. Bones have been broken in ways that they should have shattered and some of these injuries I can't explain." Dr. Franklin said as he showed off several X-rays.

"Well given the nature in which he appeared I'm not surprised." Sheridan said with a sideways nod.

"Appeared?" Franklin blinked.

"In a storm of light right in the War Room. He landed with quite an impact on the table." Delenn explained. "He was very dazed and then coughed up blood."

"Is he ok?" Sheridan asked. "And what is he?"

To this Dr. Franklin could only shake his head. "Physically he's mostly fine. He just had a rough as hell landing, but his physiology bounced back very fast, especially once I realized he was partially aquatic and..." Franklin raised the divider on the quarantine room to reveal the form half submerged in water. "... began to treat him appropriately. As for what he is." Franklin shook his head in defeat. "Part human and..."

The monitoring equipment beeped as the form took in a deep breath and coughed.

Captain Sheridan walked over to the comm unit on the wall. "Can you hear me?"

"I'm in a fucking sickbay aren't I?" The resigned voice came from the other side.

"We aren't going to hurt you..." Sheirdan was cut off.

"No, I know that much, I'd be dead if you were. I just kinda wish I could go a week, hell a DAY without having to wake up in one. The water tank is nice though, don't usually get that except in my room."

Sheridan had to hold back a smirk. Whoever he was, he was at least civilized.

"So..." The voice sighed. "You got questions, I got questions. Starting with..." The man showed an amazingly inhuman level of speed as he flung himself out of the tank and to his feet where he quickly found himself face to face with Sheridan. "Where's the bloody device?"

For the two humans in the room, the speed just seen was startling, for the Minbari-human hybrid it was terrifying.

Still they all kept their composure and the form on the other side of the quarantine room seemed to note this.

"It's safe for now, in it's own quarantine." Sheridan said. "Now for my question what is it?"

CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF==== Chapter 10 =====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF

I grinned, this man knew the game.

"It's an inter-dimensional portal device. I was stranded away from my home reality and it is what will get me home." I sighed, then added. "I hope."

"What are you?" The faintest voice from the other side of the room filtered through the comm.

"I was human once." I felt my mind drift, then pulled myself back. I had to stay on track, on mission. "I was mutated by a biological weapon. It fused my DNA and that of two other creatures together, one of them was psychic and preserved my identity, mostly."

"What do you mean mostly?" A dark skinned man, obviously a doctor asked.

"Let him ask his next question first Dr. Franklin." The first man said.

"No it's fine." I grunted as I stood as tall as I could and keep my head in view. "Bestial impulses, violent urges, animal instincts and a mean as hell urge to maim people who anger me."

"That really didn't answer..." The Doctor was interrupted by the woman.

"He fights the urge to consume everything..." She stood and approached then put he hand on the glass. "Do they plague all realities?" I understood, she recognized the kainde.

I closed my eyes as I felt my own nightmares resurface. "

"I don't know." I admitted. "The reality I just came from hasn't encountered them yet."

"Delenn?" The first man asked.

"Ancient parasitic predators, creatures of nightmare, we had to resort to extreme measures to eradicate them." She turned to him. "Several things of his body scream of them."

"Kainde." I nodded, those words seemed to scare her more than anything. "Open foot..."

"It would stand to reason..." Delenn seemed shocked. "John, he should be watched."

I folded my arms. "Thanks." I grumbled.

'John' looked at me. "Are you a threat?"

"Not if I can get my device and rest a bit before it recharges."

John nodded. "I'm Captain John Sheridan. You are currently on Babylon 5, a space station. If I let you out I would like to debrief you, we have powerful enemies and I need to make sure you weren't sent by them."

"All right Sheridan." I nodded. "I don't feel like fighting an entire space station and I suspect this will just work fine for both of us."

Sheridan nodded. "Ok. When the Doctor clears you I'll have Mr. Girabaldi escort you to my office." With that he walked out with Delenn.

"They make a cute couple." I said with as much sarcasm as I could.

"We all kinda think so." The Doctor smiled. "Doctor Franklin by the way, and may I get your name?"

"Robert Stracker, call me Vile though." He gave a confused look. "Nickname." I gave a vicious grin.

CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF==== Chapter 10 =====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF

A few hours later I was sitting on the couch in Sheridan's office. It was much larger and spacious than Janeway's, then again he had an entire station. He could afford a few extra cubic meters.

"Thank you for agreeing to this." Sheridan said with a smile as he came in a few moments later. "You'll have to forgive me, some things of great import are going on right now." He smiled, but it was one of those smiles that just screamed the person wanted to be elsewhere.

"Let me make this quick then. In my reality there is a rather large federation of associated planets..."

"That have unified under the Federation." He finished. "Star Trek, good show."

"The hell are you talking about?" I glared at the man. He then turned around his screen and played what was obviously a TV show, it had what looked like Captain Picard of all people on it in a fight with the Borg.

"The hell is this shit?!" I roared and stood to my full height.

"Your Captain in trouble there?" Sheridan's slightly smug look was all I needed and he found himself pinned to the wall under my claws.

"I live on Voyager, I did use to have a Captain, but now it's just Janeway there running the show." I roared as the door opened and Garibaldi came in with his gun.

"Maybe you would like to put our Captain down now." The man was as angry as I was and he was just as on edge.

"Maybe I feel like making a point." I growled back, then reality shifted and I was on the other side of the room.

"Down beastie." Q appeared in a new uniform, one likely from this reality. "Hello Captain Sheridan, how do you do?"

"Q!" I roared as I launched myself at the powerful being. My rage blinding me. I made it to jut rising above his form before I was frozen in place.

"Down, I said." Q smirked and gave a wink.

"I'm beginning to believe him now." Sheridan blinked.

"Down Mr. Garibaldi." Q said as the man froze in place, right in the middle of marching up to him. Then he walked up to Sheridan and the two began to talk, though I'm fairly certain Q made it so Garibaldi and I couldn't hear them.

A few moments later Sheridan decked Q across the face, Q for all his feigning of emotion, was clearly shocked.

"Get off my space station." Sheridan growled.

"Space stations... " Q muttered as he began to vanish, "The just turn your species savage." Then he was gone and both Garibaldi and I collapsed where we were.

"I hate Q." I groaned as I laid where I had fallen.

"And he's nicer than what sent you bouncing around reality?" Sheridan asked.

"That is debatable." I groaned.

"Captain?" Garibaldi asked in confusion.

"Relax Michael, I was just told how much I ruined Mr. Stracker's perspective on things. For which I am sincerely sorry."

"Oh no, it's fine, I only just learned my reality is likely a TV show. I'm perfectly fine." I groaned. "Makes perfect pauking sense though, all the damn drama and insanity. Should have seen it earlier."

"Sir?" Garibaldi asked.

"Like the man said." Sheridan sighed as he went to his desk and swung his monitor back around. "So I'm going to skip debriefing and go straight to Kosh and see what he says. I'd like you to join me."

"Am I going to be eaten, maimed, threatened and or shot?" I grumbled.

"Eaten?" Garibaldi asked.

"Been a few close calls in my life." I shrugged.

Garibaldi blinked. "I agree you should have seen it." Then he laughed. Then I laughed.

I roared in laughter with a man whom moments ago was likely to shoot me. It was actually a nice feeling.

"Michael could you clear a room for Mr. Stracker while I explain to him exactly why we're a bit paranoid?"

"No need to explain Sheridan." I sighed, "With what I am, just knowing that they existed here at one point, she has every right to be afraid. Truth is sometimes I do lose control and when I do people can die."

"That's not exactly what I meant, though I appreciate your candor on that." Sheridan gave a wincing smile that told me I was way off base as to what he was talking about.

Something deeper, more primal, more evil was at work. I stood up and took a breath and let everything in and for the first time I smelled it. There was fear pervasive on this station and it wasn't about me. I stared at the man and nodded in understanding as I followed him.

CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF==== Chapter 10 =====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF====CoTG:CF

An hour later Captain John Sheridan was watching the tall mutated man look out at the stars. He had just finished explaining the Shadows and the war that was going on.

"There's always something." Stracker grumbled. "Always someone forcing others around."

"What is it in your reality?" Sheridan asked. "Besides the Borg."

"Plenty." He responded glumly. "Not even the Federation is fully beyond it. Just mostly." He was now obviously staring at the ships.

"Well, it's time to meet Kosh." Sheridan said as the large suited form of Kosh came strolling in. It watched Robert Stracker with the practiced ease that only a Vorlon could exude.

"You gonna say something or you just gonna sit there and be the largest paperweight in the universe?" Stracker snorted without turning around.

"When you find the one who enjoys being lost, you will know sorrow and joy once more." Kosh then turned to Sheridan, bowed and then left.

By then Stracker had turned around. "Cryptic motherfucker..."

"Not a fan of decent language are you?" Sheridan sighed.

"Abso-fucking-lutely not." Stracker smirked. "You stop the words first, then comes the ideas, then you're told what to think and well you know the rest."

"Yes I do." Sheridan sighed.

"Do me a favor." Stracker grinned.

Sheridan looked the the man. "When you're done here and you bring freedom to Earth, keep a picture of her on your desk or you know in your cell."

"Yeah..." Sheridan sighed.

"Most likely a cell you know." Stracker smirked.

"You're not a very positive individual are you?"

Robert Stracker merely grinned.
