Amber's POV
I was upset when we got back from Yosemite about a week ago. Why? I have no clue. On Thursday that week and this whole week I tried to avoid Leo as much as possible I have no clue why though. I jump on top of my bed after a long day at school. Best thing is that today is the last day of school before winter break. Suddenly, I hear a knock on my door.
"Amber?" a boy's voice says
"Yeah?"
"It's me Leo. Can I come in?"
"It's open." I say as a huge lump forms in my throat
"Hey." he says opening the door, pepping his face inside my room.
"It's a good thing that boys are allowed to go in the girl's dorm rooms during break, or else you would have been dead meat by now." I say
"Yeah" he says smiling while he scratched the back of his head
"So..."
"I just wanted too ask why you are mad at me."
"Mad at you? Where did that come from?!" I say
"But, you have been ignoring me lately A LOT."
"Oh that? I don't know this whole week I have been so stressed with all the tests and stuff you know."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Hey my friends and a couple of girls are coming with us too watch a movie in my room, you want to come?" he says invitingly
"Sorry, a few of my friends and I are going to be watching Once Upon a Time after they are all done with their afterschool stuff."
"Oh, itsol good." he says opening the door to go outside.
"Bye" I wave
After we were done watching Once Upon a Time seasons 1 and 2, again, we all sat on my bed.
"So who do you think is the cutest boy?" Allia asks me immediately
"I thought you didn't like this show." Piper says
"Oh I didn't at first, but now I love it! The first episode is pretty boring though."
"I know" I say
"So who do you think is the cutest boy/guy?" Allia asks again
"Um... I would say 14 year old Bae is hot but so is Captain Hook." I say
"Oh I like Prince Charming." Piper says
"I think that Niel is super cute." Maddie (another one of my best friends) says
"I think Graham is AMAZING!" Allia screams
"SHHHH!" I say
"Yeah the teachers only let us sleep over if we stay quiet." Piper says
"Sorry" Allia says as she blushes
"I don't really think that any of them are cute." Isabelle (another one of my best friends) says
"Yeah me too" Maxine (another one of my best friends) says
"WHAT?!" Piper screamed
"SHUSH." Allia teases
"What?" Piper whispers
"I'm not excalty the 'falling for the boys' type." Issi says
"Yeah me too." Maxi says
"Oh come on Issi and Maxi, you have got to like one!" Allia says in shock
"I like all of the ones you said." Nikki (another one of my best friends) says
"OK, truth or dare time!" I say
"Me first!" Piper says
"Ok." everyone says
"Truth or dare Piper?" I say
"Truth"
"Who is your least fav teacher?"
"Mrs. Lasagna." she giggles
"Ha! You guys make me laugh." Issi says
Soon we were done playing truth or dare because we were sleepy and feel asleep.
Next week...
"AMBER!" Piper screamed over my head
"What? What? Oh no did I sleep through winter break?" I ask
"Umm no, Im just saying we have to go get breakfast." Piper says
"OH" I smile
"Get ready."
"Ok"
I walk into the bathroom and look in the mirror and smile to myself. I looked back at all of the memories of months before. Most of them were with Leo I realized. For some reason, every time I thought about him, my heart skips a beat and I can't stop smiling. I change into my clothes and keep thinking about Leo. Why? Who knows? I skip out of the bathroom all dressed with a high pony, a nice beautiful shirt, skinny jeans, and slight mascara (which I usually never put on). Soon I start to hum as I admire me and my new shoes in the mirror.
"What's up? Why so happy and fluttery this morning? And what's up with the new shoes, shirt, and mascara?" she asks
" I don't know, just felt like it today."
"It's a boy." she says assuringly
"What?! NO!"
"Yup it defiantly is." she smiles
"No!"
"When you close your eyes and you look back to your nicest memories of last month, which boy do you see?"
I close my eyes and say, "Leo"
"Who makes you laugh whenever you feel sad?"
"Leo"
(She asks me another few weird questions.)
"That's it! You like him!"
"What?! NO!"
"Your blushing!"
"AM NOT! Come on breakfast time!" I say walking out
"Yeah right." Piper says, closing the back door
We walked to the breakfast hall as we argued. Maybe I do like Leo, who knows? As soon as I stepped in a bunch of boys started to stare at me and smile (well more than they usually do).
"That was weird." I say
"You tell me." Piper says
"Now don't you say anything, almost every boy has a crush on you."
"Hey! Amber, Piper come here!" Nikki says
"I'm coming." I say
"You look amazing!" Maxine says
"Me?" I say in shok
"Yes you." Isabelle says
"Oh shut up!" I say, sitting down
After I got my breakfast, a bunch of poeple came up to me and said I looked gorgeous. Then, I look to my right and see Leo laughing away with his friends. Did he not notice me at all? If he hasn't noticed me yet then he probably doesn't like me. My heart started to sink.
"Amber you coming?" Maxine asked
"Where?"
"Haven't you been listening Ms. Beauty?"
"No"
"Where you lost in Leo's thoughts?" Amelia winked
"She probably was." everyone said
"Oh come on guys, you know we don't like each other!"
"Oh really," Piper emphasized "then why has he been staring at you for the past few minutes?"
My heart skipped a beat and I flip my head around, "Really?"
"Yes really. But if you don't like him then why you so happy?" Nikki asks, noticing my smile and warm checks
"Oh, when did I say I am happy?" I say posing a strait face
"You like him Amber, face it." Piper says
"Even though I think he could be a jerk sometimes I think you two are perfect." Issie says
"So your telling her that you don't like her crush and he is a jerk?" I ask
"You do like him!" everyone says
"Maybe, but don't go around telling everyone" I say
"Oh don't worry" Amelia says
"But I'm not sure if he likes me." I say trying to make the squealing girls quiet down
Suddenly, Calypso, one of my friends, rushes up to our table.
"Guys I have news." she says
"What?" I say immediately to get of topic
"I have a crush."
"Spill." I say
"Guess"
"Russel?" Maxi asks
"Gavin?" Issie asks
"Ash?" Nikki asks
"Evan?" Piper asks
"Leo?" I ask
Suddenly all the girls except Calypso give me a shocked look.
"No, no, no, no, and..." Calypso says
"No?" I ask
"Yes"
"Wait you like him?" Piper asks
"Yeah" she blushes
All the other girls turn around and shoot me worried looks.
"Then why have you been teasing me about Leo and I being perfect?" I say, trying to hold back any emotions
"I wanted to find out if you really liked him or not."
"Well it's a good thing I don't" I lie as all the other girls kept looking at me worriedly
"Well, we have to go." Issie says
"Yeah us too," Nikki says to Calypso, "come on our room is a mess."
"We have to go too" I say a little sad
We walk out and wait for Nikki and Calypso walk to their room. Suddenly, all the other girls crowd around me.
"Are you ok?" everyone kept asking
"I'm fine" I say
"Are you sure?" Maxi says
"Yes, I just need to except the fact that other girls can like the same guy I like." I say walking into my room
"Well if your ok then Maxi and I have to clean our room" Issie says
"Us too" I say a little dejectedly
