[A/N: Something I've found about these chapters is if I sit down and focus (this is harder than it sounds) I can get them done in less than a day. The problem is coming up with an idea for what to have happen first. Quick note about the previous chapter I'd like to thank my friend Wolveyaon (she's a friend in real life as well) for the idea on putting Zira in so if you enjoyed that part you have her to thank. Reviews are appreciated. Enjoy the chapter!]
Erik wasn't quite sure what to make of this world. It was a dark room with towering furniture; toys lay scattered about on the floor. I wonder if giants live here. Or maybe I've just shrank. He heard a whine and looked over at Chiyo who was pawing at the sheets that were hanging off the edge of the bed. "Is someone in the bed?" He walked over and looked up, but was unable to see if anyone was in the bed.
There was a groan and the springs creaked as the person in the bed rolled over.
Better keep quiet so I don't wake them up. Erik tugged on the sheets and found that he could probably crawl up them with no problem. "Chiyo, stay down here with Antonia and Puck. I'm going to try and get up there so I can look around." As he started to crawl up the bed sheets he felt Chiyo grab a hold of his pant leg. "What is it now?"
Chiyo only whined again and tried to pull him down.
"I'm going to be fine. Besides I don't think I'd die if I fell from up there. It would probably just hurt now let go." Erik shook his leg free from her grip and started climbing up the sheets. When he got to the top of the bed he found a boy quite a bit younger then himself fast asleep. Wonder who the kid is. Not like it matters. He got on the boy's shoulder and looked around the room. "Can't really make anything out in the dark."
Beneath his feet the boy stirred and rolled over again knocking Erik off him.
"Maybe climbing up here was a waste of time." Erik started to crawl back down when he realized that someone was staring at him. He looked back at the boy and saw that his eyes were open.
The boy didn't look too concerned about the situation and yawned before picking Erik up. "I didn't want to sleep with this toy." He got out of bed and walked over to a box and opened the lid before dropping Erik inside, but left the lid open.
"Oh, this is just great. He thinks I'm one of his toys."
You're about the size of his toys.
Erik was sitting on top of another action figure when he saw the girl standing next to him. So where am I exactly?
This world is called Andy's Room.
Is the kid Andy?
No, that's his neighbor Sid.
So why is it called Andy's room if there's more than one room?
I don't know. You might want to ask the person who named the worlds.
Erik was about to respond when he heard Chiyo pawing at the toy box. "I should probably get out of here so I don't worry anyone." He stood up and jumped up to try and grab the edge of the box to pull himself out, but found that he was too short. "Puck, can you hear me?"
Puck flew off of Chiyo and up to the lip of the toy box where he perched himself and began cleaning his feathers.
"You have time to do that later. Right now I need you to get me out."
Puck twittered and spread his wings before flying down to Erik and picked him up. He was stronger then he looked and it didn't take much effort on Puck's part to fly Erik back down to the ground.
"Ok, so I know where we are now so I think we should do some looking around in this room first to find the heart of the world."
As soon as these words left Erik's mouth he heard the door open and quickly ducked back to the other side of the toy box to avoid being seen.
"Sid, honey its time to wake up."
Sid only groaned and pulled the sheets over his head.
His Mother walked in and nudged his shoulder. "Its time to go to day care honey you need to get up." She only heard more grumbling. Not to be deterred she walked over to his toy box and pulled out the same action figure Erik had been sitting on. "Why don't you take one of your toys with you?"
As he listened to Sid's Mother try and coax her son out of the bed Erik saw that she'd left the bedroom door open. "I think if we're careful we can get out of here." Making sure that she was still preoccupied with Sid, Erik crept past her and went out the door. He stopped at the top of a flight of stairs. "Stairs…..didn't count of them."
Chiyo went ahead of him with Antonia draped across her shoulders while Puck flew behind her and slowly began going down the stairs tripping a bit as she did so.
Trying to follow Chiyo's example Erik started to go down the stairs after her when he heard a baby cry. "I think we should hurry up. Don't want to get caught." However, when he started to go faster he tripped and fell down the rest of the way. "Ow…." Erik started to get back to his feet when he felt Chiyo lick his face. "I'm fine I'm fine. Just tripped that's all."
As they got closer to the front door another problem presented itself.
"That's right we're too short to get the door open."
Sid's Mother was coming down the stairs at that moment holding the baby who had since quieted herself as Sid trudged along behind her. She didn't seem to notice them and opened the front door. "Come on Sid its time to go. I'll get you breakfast on the way."
Taking advantage of the open door Erik quickly scurried through the opening just as it closed behind them. "Ok we're out of the house…..now where could that heart be?"He looked down the street when another house caught his eye. "Let's try to get into the neighbor's house."
Walking across the lawn to the side of the neighbor's house took a bit longer then it usually would have. "I could probably get into the window if Puck doesn't mind carrying me again."
Puck only twittered for a couple seconds before flying over to Erik.
"Don't worry we'll leave Chiyo and Antonia behind. You won't have to carry them." He felt Puck nip his ear before claws sank into his shoulders.
Once he was in the window sill Erik was able to get a good look around the room he was in. "Looks like another kid's room. Probably a boy too judging from the decorations." He slid out of the sill and onto a desk where he noticed a woman was staring at him.
"How did you get up here?" She was a blond wearing a pink bonnet and matching pink and white dress; a shepherdess crook in her hand. "Are you one of Andy's new toys?"
"Um, no I'm actually not a toy at all. I just shrank when I got here. Anyway you said this was Andy's room right?"
"Yes, but Andy isn't here right now if you wanted him to play with you." She giggled a bit. "I think that honor goes to Woody every time."
Erik rolled his eyes. He didn't like the idea of anyone playing with him. "I don't care if Andy would want to play with me to be perfectly honest."
Puck landed on the desk next to him and started cleaning his feathers again.
The shepherdess looked over at Puck and smiled. "What a pretty parrot. Where did you get him?"
"I made him."
Her eyes widened a bit. "How did you make him?"
"I don't think you'd like the answer to that question. Anyway I've got some important business to take care of so if you don't mind I'm going to attend to that." With a bit of difficulty Erik shimmied down the desk's leg landing cat like on the floor while Puck flew after him. "Puck why don't you fly above me and keep an eye on the door. Make a noise if you hear anyone coming I'm going to take a look around."
Obediently Puck flew overhead keeping his jeweled eyes fixed on the door.
"I think I'll try the bed first." Erik crouched down and rolled under the bed finding an assortment of board games under it. "Doesn't look like there's anything under here besides games." He rolled back out. "This would be a lot easier if I was a bit bigger."
The shepherdess was still on the desk and was peering over the edge at Erik. "I didn't introduce myself. My name's Bo Peep. What's yours?"
Bo Peep? What kind of name is that? "Do you think we could take a little later? I'm kind of busy right now."
"Oh, well maybe I could help you."
"No thanks I'm fine."
"I'd like to help you. Woody isn't going to be back for a little while since he's with Andy and I'd like to have someone to talk to."
"Who is this Woody exactly? Your boyfriend?"
Bo Peep blushed a bit. "No, not exactly. He's just my friend."
Erik sighed under his breath. What's with these girls and their insistent need to want to help me all the time? "Fine, I guess you can help, but stay out of my way. Puck, go get her."
Puck had a bit more difficulty carrying Bo Peep off the desk since she was made of porcelain.
Once she was on the ground she smoothed the skirt of her dress out. "What exactly are you looking for?"
"I'm probably breaking every rule in the book if I tell you, but you seem harmless enough and less irritating then the other people who've tried to help me. I'm looking for the heart of the world."
Bo Peep cocked her head to the side in confusion. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like that around here."
"Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean its not here." He came up to another toy box. "Give me a boost will you?" Erik had to be careful about where he stepped so he wouldn't break Bo Peep's hand before he crawled into the toy box. He had to root around through the rest of the toys until he found himself at the bottom. "So, this is where you've been hiding." It took a few extra minutes for him to crawl back to the top of the pile of toys. "Looks like I could jump down and not hurt myself. You might want to get out of the way so I don't land on you."
She took a couple steps back before Erik jumped out. "You could hurt yourself."
"But I didn't so it's not a big deal."
"Did you find what you were looking for?"
"Yeah I found it. So I should probably get going now."
"You have to leave now?"
Bo Peep looked a bit disappointed when she heard this. "Well, I guess if you have to leave you have to leave. Would you ever come back?"
"I don't know. I might. Puck, why don't you take her back to her desk?"
Before Bo Peep was able to say anything else she found herself being lifted off the ground and was placed back on the desk top.
Puck flew back down to get Erik and deposited him in the window sill.
"Are you really going to go now?"
"Yes, I'm really going to go now."
Puck sank his claws into Erik's shoulders before lifting him back out of the sill.
Erik was quiet glad to have his feet on the ground again and found himself nearly getting knocked over by Chiyo who put her front paws on his shoulders and tried to lick his face. "Calm down Chiyo I wasn't gone for very long. Do you have separation anxiety or something?" He waited until she had gotten off of him before summoning a dark portal. "Well I found what I was looking for so its time to go now."
