Chapter Ten

"Magic… a concept that existed long before the creation of Fairy Tales. We use this 'magic' in everyday life, yet we have barely scratched the surface of its potential. As you all know, the Land of Oz is responsible for maintaining and regulating the amount of magic in and out of the various magical worlds. The wizard of Oz is the essential 'key' and the reason magic exists at Ever After High, in Wonderland, the Icy Kingdom and everywhere in general. During the course of my time here, I will teach anyone who is willing, how to use magic. Basic magic of course but magic never the less, so stay tuned here, every Saturday from eight to nine in the morning!"

With those final words, Oliver Wizard tossed off his headset and stretched for a few moments before yawning loudly.

"Excellent work Oliver! You almost crashed the system with all the students and teachers tuning in!" noted Humphrey from across the computer room.

"Sorry! I can't believe so many people want to learn magic, I just did this so I wouldn't have to join a club" explained Oliver as he picked up his cane and swung his cloak back on.

"Well whatever you're doing, don't be afraid to keep doing it. I'll keep the system up somehow" laughed Humphrey.

"Thanks, hey, do you want anything from the Hocus Latte? I'm headed over there now to grab some breakfast" offered the wizard.

"No thanks, I've got a nice sandwich here, thanks anyway!" said Humphrey as he waved goodbye.

Oliver made his way through each corridor with trained ease; he had memorized the entire layout of the school in the first two days and mastered each route in three. He knew the exact way to go that would avoid most people and also save him the most time.

It wasn't that he didn't like talking to people, it was just that he found no point in pointless conversation about things that didn't really matter like Throne coming, shopping, movies or anything else along those lines.

Now if it were about spells, books or actual current events then he was all ears and completely engaged but anything else and he would always find a way to weave himself out of the conversation. Yet on this bright and sunny Saturday morning, he found that his mind was wandering all over the place.

Throne coming was approaching rapidly and it was required that he be there, yet that just begged the question of what he was going to where. He could literally create any piece of clothing he wished but that still didn't give him any style, his current outfit was crafted by an elite team in Oz from the finest fabrics.

There was also the looming threat of exams which he shouldn't have been feeling scared about considering he had learnt the syllabus by the time he was eight and was studying at about ten years above his current age, but he still was.

Then there were… girls…

Despite his best interests and immense amount of self-control, he had been noticing the attractiveness of the female students attending Ever After High. It was kinda slow at first, a nice haircut here and a wonderful smell as he passed a group there.

Small things that added up and lead him to the library, which he promptly stayed in for two days straight reading and researching all the various things that might be affecting him into thinking the way he was. From poison and mind control to self-induced coma's and possible insanity, none of them made a lot of sense and he eventually chalked it up to hormones and being a teenager.

"I am the fifteenth most powerful magic user ever and I'm being beaten by stupid hormones?" he growled in annoyance as he emerged onto the correct street.

With his thoughts all over the place, he didn't even notice the sudden appearance of a figure before him until he had crashed into them. His reflexes however managed to swing the stranger around so that they landed on top of him and didn't get hurt in the process.

"Oh my! I am so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going and are you alright?" asked the stranger as they helped Oliver to his feet.

"I am fine, are you alright… Miss. Goodfairy, my sincerest apologies, my head was in the clouds as they say" explained Oliver as he brushed himself down.

Looking at his fellow student, he couldn't help but notice how wonderful she looked. She had done her hair up in a bun rather than letting it flow behind her. Her makeup was far lighter which gave her a much more relaxed and youthful look to her being.

He noticed without much surprise that her trademarked blue wand was hanging loosely by her side and was shimmering with the unrefined power it contained within it.

"Where were you headed?" asked the girl curiously.

"Hocus Latte, to pick up a quick bite to eat" replied the wizard promptly, "Care to join me?"

Farrah seemed shocked by the offer and didn't reply for a solid five seconds before the ever shifting red and green orbs before her snapped her back to reality and she nodded furiously.

"Yes of course, sorry, I'm not used to other people offering me things" she said with a blush.

"Well that's no trouble at all, I would actually like to ask your opinion on a few things in regards to magic and the likes, if you want of course" offered Oliver as the two began to walk toward the café.

Farrah nodded, a small smile plastered onto her face that simply wouldn't leave.

Hocus Latte

"So we have a hocus pocus latte for the lady and a triple hocus caramel hot chocolate for the gentleman" stated the staff member as she set the drinks down before the two magical students.

"Many thanks, here is the money for both drinks and the food, keep the change" said Oliver as he held out effectively double the proper amount of money necessary to pay for the meal.

"Why thank you very much. Your boyfriend is a wonderful person Miss, keep him, have a nice time you to!" giggled the staff member as she walked off before Farrah could even comprehend what had been said.

"So Miss. Goodfairy, I hear that Miss. Mermaid and Miss. Piper are going to be providing music at Thronecoming" noted Oliver as he took a sip of his hot drink.

Farrah was currently still recovering from the waitresses' words and Oliver's completely calm response that she almost didn't register the question.

"Umm… Meeshell? Yeah, she and Piper are in charge along with Blondie, Dexter and Humphrey" explained Farrah as she took dainty bites from her croissant.

Oliver nodded and began executing his pancakes with merciless precision, each swift slice was perfectly made and accurately measured to achieve the perfect ratio of syrup and pancake in each mouthful. Farrah couldn't help but giggle at Oliver's intense expression as he ate his food, his red and green eyes narrowed almost as if facing down a foe in battle.

"What's so funny?" he asked curiously as he finally noticed that she was in a fit of giggles.

"N… nothing… nothing at all" she said with a gasp as she finally calmed down, leaving Oliver bewildered.

The two ate in relative silence for the most part, with only the occasional question being tossed out in regards to school, friends and general life. Oliver found himself enjoying the time he spent with Farrah as time went on however; he had no real wish to not talk to her since she provided an interesting perspective on the world.

"So who are you going to Thronecoming with?" asked Oliver curiously as he finished off his drink.

"Umm… well… the thing is… I don't… have a date exactly" replied Farrah in embarrassment, her shoulder slumping.

Oliver raised an eyebrow in surprise; Farrah was incredibly popular around the school what with her wishing based magic and all. She was beautiful, kind and selfless…

"Oh dear…" thought Oliver as all of these thoughts crossed his mind and he could feel his face getting hotter.

"I mean, I'm really full up with helping everyone make the perfect outfit choice for the event that I haven't really had any time to think about it" explained the girl meekly.

"Well, if you wouldn't mind. Farrah Goodfairy; would you like to accompany me to the Thronecoming dance?" asked Oliver as he got down onto his knee and offered out his hand.

The noise in the room died down instantly as everyone present turned to look at the scene before them. Oliver Wizard had just asked Farrah Goodfairy to Thronecoming and the fairy herself was currently trying to prevent her brain from overheating in embarrassment.

"I would… love to" she finally managed to stammer out as she gently took his hand.

Oliver himself was trying to calm his pulse using every method he knew, yet they were all proving ineffective.

"Must be the damn hormones" he thought with an internal groan; however he was delighted that she had accepted and the two sat to discuss the details further.

Oz

"There it is… the Emerald City!"

"Patience Brandish, we cannot attack yet, the wizard would obliterate us without a single thought"

"Very well Jane, but I'm thirsting for combat!"

"We all are Brandy, but combat is only combat if both sides are equal, this would be a decimation if we were to attack now"

"I told you to stop calling me Brandy, Jay Jay!"

"Enough you two, let us bide our time and wait, we will have our moment"

A/N: Oh to be young and in love and be a teenager and have hormones and be mentally messed up... not even a wizard can escape it!

Anyway:

As you probably already have guessed, this coming 'arc' will take place over the Thronecoming 'arc' canonically. However, if any of you care to keep up with EAH and my story then you will know that Bunny and Alistair don't arrive in EAH until after they find the story book of legends and bring it back which comes after Briar threw it down the well of wonder in the Thronecoming 'arc', so therefore this will make kinda like a big plot hole but I'm hoping you will excuse it and allow me to make my own thing out of it!

As for the three at the end... meh, they're there and it's their turn to be there... lot's of there's in that sentence!
