I have one little question before this chapter starts: Where the hell are you guys!?
Like seriously! I have had a lot of people pestering me about this story in my PMs to get it done faster and now I try to update on here regularly and for what?
I have gotten the last review on here WEEKS ago!
Slowly but surley I am sick of this and I'm honestly thinking about just stopping updating this story once and for all!
I do all this hard work here and no one seems to care and IF I should get a review, most people simply write "UPDATE!" which doesn't help me at all!
I really, REALLY would like to know how you think about this story and if you don't like it then just tell me and I will stop updating! -.-
And as for those people who can only write "UPDATE" over and over again: It seems like you have no idea how long it takes a writer to finish a chapter of such a story! I for myself put all my heart into this story and I am really proud of it and yes it hurts me when I see that all of these stupid tickle stories of mine get all the attention and stories like this will get no attention at all! That really, really hurts!
I just wanted to say that. I don't think this will change anything about this whole situation, but I am feeling better now.
If this will continue this way I am going to stop updating on this story and maybe I will even delete it and keep writing on it in german only, because I even spend a lot of hours, translating all this shit here! And for what? Right: FOR NOTHING! -.-
Well for those who actually care about this story: Have fun with this chapter...
Chapter 9
The shock was still written on his face and even the Lord couldn't believe what words had come from Lucifer's mouth.
No angel had hitherto dared to raise his voices in his presence and Lucifer had even done more than that.
He had rebelled against him, had refused to pay the respect his new creation deserved and he even had the audacity to turn his back on him.
This was an offense that he would not tolerate and he would punish his son for it!
"Gabriel! Raphael! Come to me!" he raised his voice above the excited tumult that had broken out among his children.
The angels were shocked by Lucifer's behavior and now they all talked at once; loud and hectic. Only the Lord himself appeared to have his anger still under control.
He waited patiently, until the two Archangels, Gabriel and Raphael, stood before him.
"You have called us father?" Raphael asked and his voice trembled slightly while he spoke.
"Bring the humans into the garden and watch over them. I need to talk with my son..."
The two Archangels shuddered at the ominous words and none of them wanted to switch places with Lucifer now.
So far no angel had dared to incur the wrath of the Almighty.
"As you wish father," Gabriel and Raphael answered almost simultaneously and they bowed reverently in front of him, before they went to the two humans and led them away from the turmoil.
Only when they were gone, the wrath began to glow in God's eyes and he looked at his eldest son.
"Michael, come with me. We need to find your brother. I wish to speak with him..."
"Yes father," Michael answered and he also bowed before his father.
He was a good son and he would never dare to show disobedience towards him and he would never rebel against his plans and before he could think about this longer, Michael followed his father in search for Lucifer...
They found Lucifer at one of his favorite places.
And he was not alone...
The Lightbringer was standing on a rock in the middle of a forest and towered above the angels who had followed him and which looked as angry as he himself.
The fire of anger flared in each pair of eyes, the faces were contorted in anger and they shouted their anger out into this world, which made it difficult to understand a single word.
"Lucifer!"
God's voice was like thunder that swept over his children and immediately the angels fell silent and it became quiet in the clearing, as everyone turned their heads to the Lord and looked at him.
Even Lucifer fell silent and in his eyes was so much anger to be seen that even Michael shuddered.
Only God seemed to be not intimidated by his dark looks, because he stepped slowly towards him and made his way through his children, who stepped aside to let him go through their rows. He let his son not out of sight and Lucifer did the same.
"What are you doing here father?" the angel asked coldly.
God stood before him, looked up at him and tried to curb his anger.
"I could ask you the same thing my son."
"What I do here is my thing and my alone."
His lips curled into a sneer and his eyes glittered the scorn.
"You should go back to these abominations you call "humans" which you try to protect from our wrath."
"I don't need to protect them, because I know that no angel would ever dare to harm my creation. My children know what will happen when my anger hits them and you should also know Lucifer."
The face of the Lightbringer hardened again and a growl came from his throat and God could see how the feathers on his wings lined up.
A clear sign, that the anger took more and more possession of his body.
"If you come with me now, take responsibility for your words and if you bow your knees in front of my new creation, I will be merciful and not punish you."
"And if I refuse?"
"Lucifer!"
Michael had stepped forward, wanted to go to his little brother, wanted to grab him by the wings and bring him to his senses, but his father stopped him when he gently but determining grabbed him by his arm and held him back.
"You shouldn't refuse me my son, because then you will wake my anger and I'll be forced to punish you severely for your sins."
"My sins?!"
Lucifer spit these words into his father's face.
"Of what sins are you talking about father? The sin to have a free will and to make my own decisions? The sin to not bend my knee for a creature that is so much weaker than me? The sin to raise my voice for all the angels who are too afraid to express their opinions? Do you mean these sins?!"
"Lucifer stop it! This is not you talking! It is the mark which obscures your mind!"
A loud laugh broke away from the throat of the Morningstar and his eyes sparkled with scorn as he looked at his older brother.
"This mark on my arm is the best thing that could have happened to me, because it showed me that I am no longer a slave! I will no longer bow to Father's will. Oh no. I will never bow my knees in front of anyone ever again and I will do more than that, because I am going to raise my throne high above father's and I will be a better God than he has ever been, because I would never force my family to bow their knees in front of something as weak as these humans!"
The angels, who still stood to God's and Michael's sides, began to whisper to each other and their voices became louder and louder. In their eyes, the determination began to sparkle and gradually they fell into a loud choir of jubilation.
A jubilation that was not meant for God, but for his son Lucifer...
And it was exactly this reaction, which brought the anger in God's body to boil over.
"ENOUGH!" he thundered, but this time the angels fell not silent around him and Lucifer didn't move from where he stood.
"Yes father, it is indeed enough. It is enough that we have to bow to your will like slaves and I say that we should stop your reign of terror once and for all."
Lucifer spoke these words calmly, but the threat was all too clearly in them.
"And who this also wants, should follow me."
The angels hesitated at first, but gradually they began to move, left God and Michael behind, as they stood on Lucifer's side.
"You're making a big mistake my son. I am warning you! If you won't repent now, you will have to pay heavily for these acts!"
"Threatening me is not going to change any of this. I have already made my decision. Michael, my dearest brother. What about you? Why are you still standing on father's side, if you could stand here on mine?"
Michael was too shocked to answer.
He couldn't even think straight and he seemed to be completely overwhelmed with the whole situation.
What had happened to his little brother?
The angel whom he loved more than anything, whom he had raised and who now stood before him and his father and declared war towards heaven; his home.
He couldn't believe it, didn't want to believe it, but when he looked up to him, he could see how much his brother had changed and the mark of darkness had now demanded its toll.
It had spoiled his angelic soul, had made something out of him every angel feared.
"I see how much you're suffering brother. Come to my side and I promise you that your suffering will come to an end under my reign."
Michael's eyes widened and he did the only thing he could do in that moment: He took a few steps back until he stood on God's side.
Lucifer squinted and the dark aura seemed to completely envelop his body at that moment.
"The loyal son until the end. You'll see what this mistake will do to you Michael. I will show no mercy when it once comes to battle. Then, when my sword will kill you too..."
After these dark words, Lucifer simply disappeared, and with him all the angels who had placed themselves at his side and God and Michael remained alone.
"How could it have come so far..." the Lord whispered.
So quiet that you couldn't understand it, but Michael had understood and he turned his head to him and looked at him.
"It's not your fault father."
"It's my fault Michael. I should never have given him this mark. He was not strong enough to resist its power and now look what it has done to him. What it has done to us..."
"What do you mean by that?"
God lifted his head and looked at him.
"Lucifer is about to destroy heaven with his deeds. He pulls the angels on his side, tells them lies and corrupts their souls and we can't allow that. We must protect the paradise at any price!"
Michael didn't like the direction this conversation was going...
"Gather all the angels that you have trained as warriors and put on your armor, my son. It seems a war is coming over us..."
