There's Nothing I Can Do

She couldn't believe what she'd just done. She was proud of herself for standing up to him but on the other hand she was mortified. What had she done? If she got on his badside now, he may never let Amora go.

Sigyn panicked. Not only did she cut him off, she also told him leave. He did, which in some ways felt like a victory to her. Until the threat in his voice when he turned to leave. It was a warning, one she should not take too lightly. Oh, how conflicted she was.

These next few days would be stressful, there was no doubt about it. No matter how much she hated to admit it, she had been outsmarted. Loki had made sure that his wife had nothing to use againt him, and if she somehow did, he would use her friend as leverage. But did that mean he was afriad of her in a way? Did Loki need a hostage to get his way? A god so cunning, micheivious and strong, you would think he'd get whatever he wanted, whenever.

Something about his plan was unclear to her. He was going to let someone into Asgard. She dreaded the idea, knowing it could be almost anyone. Whatever he had up his sleeve, it would make him king and Sigyn didn't know if she could handle that. She didn't know is Asgard could handle it. Part of her wondered if all this was just a childish act of jealously for his brother Thor.

Powerless, scared and furious, Sigyn paced around the luxourous garden she had once felt so at home in, now a haze around her, as she buried herself in thoughts.

Plans to escape were pointless, the ring he gave her made sure of that. She could always tell someone but risk her friend getting hurt, or worse. She would never risk a life. All she could do was: wait; and hope with all of her being that his plan would involve no deaths; that if he became king, he would be just and merciful.

But as of now, "There's nothing I can do..." She mumbled to herslef again and again, still pacing around the garden. It was infuriating, knowing that Loki could read minds, knowing that even every thought she had could be heard by him. What was worse was that she had no idea whether or not he was indeed listening.

She wasn't safe anywhere and she didn't know what to do. But she wanted to do something, anything! She couldn't just let Loki win. He'd taken so much of her life away already, she would be damned if she let him take Asgard too.

Sigyn bit her lip as she stopped walking, and leaned against a random tree, an idea suddenly popped into her head. It wasn't much but perhaps if she spoke to Odin, maybe he would consider letting Amora go. Loki was not 'king' yet anyway, he had no say in what happens to her.

Theivery was a serious crime in Asgard, sure, especially when it is royal property. However, it wasn't as though 'she'd' stolen something precious to the crown. It was merely a book.

But the Allfather was busy, he had so much to discuss with Thor before the corination. It would be impossible to ask for an audiance until after the ceremony. Even then it will be the celebrations, the feasts and so on.

She groaned again in frustration, another idea washed away. And before she realized what she was doing, Sigyn made her way through the garden and walked for a while until she finally made her way towards dungeon gates.

Two guards stood there, infront of the huge, intimidating, highly secured door. "Milady?" One of them stated, wandering what on Asgard she was doing in such a place.

"I've come to visit my maid." She stated bluntly. "Please, open the gate."

He shook his head slowly. "Sorry, milady, there aren't to be any visitors until after the corination."

"I am Sigyn, goddess of fidelity and wife of Loki Odinson, the princess of Asgard. I demand that you let me pass." She never thought she could talk to someone in that tone of voice. She hated using her title agaisnt people. But alas, she was desperate at this point. If something went wrong tomorrow, Sigyn would hate herself if something happened to Amora.

"We are forbiddon to open the doors until the Allfather says otherwise. Forgive me, milday."

She bowed her head in despair and bit back her cry of anger and saddness before she took a deep breath. "Very well, good day to you both."

They bowed respectfully as she left, defeated and annoyed. Again... All she could do was wait. She did not return to Loki's chambers that night though.

As she wandered the halls of the palace, she found herself in her old chamber. Lighter colours and a hopeful atmosphere around her. Sadly, that hopefullness never fully reached her eyes as she looked out of the window.

The sun was setting this time, and she knew just as she did when the sun rose on her wedding day, that whatever was to come would be very bad indeed.
