Chapter 10: Cinderella in Wonderland
Chapter Summary: The first month was a total mess for him for he didn't really want to do it.
This isn't really happening. This isn't really happening. This is really isn't happening. He thought as he walked to and fro inside the backstage. He was alone there so he didn't care if he was a little frustrated at the meantime. He wasn't comfortable at that very moment.
He wasn't comfortable at the dress that he was wearing.
Yeah, he was wearing a pink dress that paired with a pink collar. It was a little frilly and there were flower designs in it too. There were two average ribbons at the bottom part of the dress. He didn't like it. At. All.
"Ryoma-kun?"
Stopping from walking, he looked at the person who talked last. His eyes widened when he saw the girl disguising as a boy right now but was wearing a girl's outfit at that very moment. He was shocked at her sudden appearance.
Ryuzaki was really a girl at her own dress.
She was wearing a blue knee-leveled dress and a white apron that covered it. She was also wearing a pair of black doll shoes. She was wearing a yellow wig and it was tied with a black ribbon, from her nape to her head.
"Ryoma-kun no kawaii!" She replied cutting his reverie, "You really look like Cinderella."
Upon hearing that, he looked away and grunted, "Don't remind me that."
She chuckled as she walked closer to him, "You haven't put on your wig yet," She said as she grabbed the wig and faced him, "Let's place it."
Ryoma distanced himself away from her, "Don't you dare."
"But Ryoma-kun?" She insisted, "This is Cinderella's hair."
"Yadda!" He said as he glared at her, "Why are you okay with this?"
She was shocked when he asked that but then she gave him her answer, "Because I love cross-dressing. I love being Alice at the very moment."
He blinked his eyes twice. The girl was really something and he had to blurt it out, "People would think that you are a girl with that."
"Eh?"
He stared at her from head to toe, "You look like a girl, Ryuzaki."
Sakuno blushed when he said that. Of course she would. He already knew the fact that she was a girl. He wanted to remind her that she was disguising as a boy in case that she had forgotten about it. And it looked like that he was succeeding at doing it.
"Baka!" She said in a masculine voice, "Don't you dare call me that! I may cross-dress today but I am still a boy!"
He smirked after he said that, "Tell them to the crowd not to me."
"You bet I will."
"Echizen-san, Ryuzaki-san," Their class president called out to them, "The play is about to start. Please be ready."
Before she could say anything, he glared at her and talked, "I will not wear that stupid wig, got it?"
She sweat dropped as she replied, "Okay, okay, I did not say anything," She walked ahead of him and continued, "Let's go, their calling us."
Sighing to himself, he followed the girl-disguising-as-a-boy-and-now-was-wearing-a-girl's-dress. Good luck to her.
Freshmen's performance on stage:
"Once upon a time, there lived a little girl whose named was Cinderella," The narrator a. k. a Shiraishi told the epic tale of the story, "She had a wonderful life until her father passed away. She was left with her stepmother whom her father remarried to and two stepsisters. Her life wasn't easy since then. Cinderella grew up into a fine young lady." Shiraishi paused for a while and looked at the stage.
Cinderella a. k. a Ryoma appeared on stage wearing a tattered dress and was holding a mop. His face was stoic as ever. The boys inside awed at his appearance and who wouldn't, despite the dress, he looked cute on stage;
"Oh, I need to sweep the floor or stepmother will be mad at me." He said… non-emotionally.
Sakuno from the backstage sweat dropped when she heard Ryoma said his lines. Their classmates were snickering behind her and who wouldn't.
Ryoma said his lines like he was just reading a book. She continued to watch the play. Stepmother a.k.a RikkaiDai's Genichiro Sanada and her two daughters; Grisella a. k. a. Fudomine's Shinji Ibu and Anastacia a.k.a Bunta Marui appeared and bullied Cinderella.
She couldn't believe that the exchanged students participated in the play. The stepmother was stoic and kind of scary, perfect for the role of Cinderella's stepmother. Her two daughters, well, Grisella was mumbling incomprehensible words and thoughts all through the act while Anastacia kept popping gums in his mouth. They weren't bad at all.
The play continued and it was the part where Cinderella needed to go the ball.
"I cannot go to the ball anymore," Cinderella read—err—said, "It's useless."
"You can still go, my dear."
Cinderella looked at the person who talked last. It wasn't a person actually.
"Are you my fairy grandmother?" She asked the newcomer.
"Yes, indeed," The fairy godmother a.k.a Rikkaidai's Yukimura Seiichi nodded. He was clad in blue gown that paired to his blue hair. He even had blue wings and a wand, "and I can help you get there."
Cinderella blinked, "How?"
Then, the normal procedure went on. The fairy godmother told Cinderella that she could only have her magical gown and slippers until midnight or else everything would disappear. She rode on her magical pumpkin carriage and went to the castle.
In the castle, Cinderella met Prince Charming a.k.a their classmate Horio Satoshi and danced with him. Cinderella was twitching at that very moment. No, he was glaring at his prince. He never wanted to dance with a guy, not in his entire life or even in his dream.
Prince Charming smiled awkwardly at the expression that he was getting from Cinderella. He knew how pissed his partner at that meantime. If he ever did any suspicious behavior towards him, he would be facing his death after the play. That was what the glare he was giving him.
"Then the clock ticked twelve." Shiraishi announced but they weren't moving from their position so he repeated it again, "I said the clock ticked twelve!"
Cinderella blinked and immediately leaned away from him, "I need to go, bye." With that he just went off, without even looking back at the prince.
"W-what! What is your name, miss?" Horio called out to her and followed her all the way out to the castle but she was nowhere to be found. He then noticed something below him.
It was the other pair of the girl's slippers.
He picked it up and stared at it, before he stared at the direction where he thought she had gone to.

Cinderella ran into the midst of forest. Her feet were hurting her what most worst was she left the other pair of the slippers near the castle. She removed the other pair and dropped it on the ground. She didn't need one if she couldn't use both.
"But the prince might have the other pair." Cinderella said couldn't know what he was thinking at saying at that moment. She was actually having goose bumps.
She knew that it was passed twelve but why wasn't her dress turning back to normal? Was her fairy godmother lying to her?
She didn't know and more importantly, where was she?
She looked around and the place was unfamiliar to her. She was in the middle of searching when someone or something went past him and grabbed her slipper, "O-oi!"
"I am late, I am late, I am late," A rabbit a.k a. Eiji Kikumaru repeatedly said holding the slipper with his right hand and a clock with his left hand, "I really need to go. I am late." With that he walked away from there.
"Hey, give that back!" Cinderella said as she lifted her gown, "Stupid gown!"
The audience laughed at his remarks but he ignored it. It was really hard to walk in that get up anyway.
"Oh, Usagi-san, usagi-san!"
She stopped from chasing the rabbit when she heard another voice. She watched another girl walking to her direction. When she spotted her, she walked closer to her and asked;
"Hi there, have you seen Mr. Rabbit pass by?" The girl said.
She closed her eyes first before she replied, "Yeah, it went that way."
"Oh thank you." With that she continued walking to the direction she told her.
She also remembered her slipper so she followed the girl, "Where are you going?"
"…To where Usagi-san lives."
"Why?"
"Because usagi-san knows where I live."
She raised an eyebrow, "What?"
"I am Alice, you?"
She looked at the weird girl before she answered her, "Cinderella."
"Nice to meet you, Cinderella-san." Alice greeted.
"Un."
"Let's go, I still need to find Usagi-san."
"Why are you looking at it?"
"I already told you, didn't I?"
They bickered until they reached a place with two different paths.
"So," Alice suddenly said looking at both paths, "Where are we going here?"
"Don't know," Cinderella said doing the same thing she did, "You are the intelligent one here."
"Oh, no I am not," Alice replied, "I am just a girl who merely passing my academic subjects."
"Most everyone's intelligent here, you may have noticed that I am not all intelligent myself."
They both looked at one particular place and saw a head of a… cat.
"Where do you want to go young ladies?" the cat a.k.a Fuji Syuusuke asked, grinning at them.
Alice was stunned at the appearance of the cat. When she recovered, she walked a step forward and asked the cat, "We want to know where the white rabbit went to. Could you tell us?"
"Where do you think the rabbit go?" The cat asked back which its body was slowly appearing to them.
"We don't know that's why we are asking?" Cinderella said this time.
"What's the use of asking if you are going to look for it anyway?"
"What?" Both of them reacted. The cat was mischievous and a little sneaky. If it was not going to help them, then they wouldn't bother.
"You go this place," The cat pointed his left side, "or this side," he pointed to the other side before he grinned at them, "Your choice." With that the cat was slowly disappearing in front of them.
They were left speechless when the cat disappeared. They debated which place they would go and in the end they went to the right side.

They continued walking on their way to nowhere. Cinderella was getting pissed because of her dress but not Alice because she was wearing a comfortable dress. Alice began talking while Cinderella chose to remain silent.
They only stopped when they heard someone talking. Ahead of them, they could spot two figures… and thought that they were fighting. Alice was shocked so she went and stopped them from fighting.
"Please, stop it you two," Alice said looking at them. She only realized that they looked alike. They were twins actually, "Why are you two fighting."
"He said that I am not bright!" The first one said pointing at the other.
"He said that I am not bright!" The second one said after the first one pointed at him.
"You are!"
"No, you are!"
They continued blaming at each other until Alice stopped them.
"Stop copying each other's words," She said, "You are twins, aren't you?"
Both of them nodded.
"I am Tweedledee," He said a.k.a Katsuo pointing at himself.
"I am Tweedledum," He said a.k.a Kachiro pointing at himself.
"And we're twins!" They both said clinging to each other's shoulder. Alice and Cinderella sweat dropped when they saw their weird actions. Later on, they started bickering once again.
"Tell us a story!" Both of them said all of the sudden and at the same time looking at Alice.
"What?" Alice blinked twice trying to understand what they wanted to say.
"Tell us a story!" They repeated.
Alice walked backward as she flailed her hands in front of her. She was about to say something when Cinderella grabbed her hand and pulled her to a run.
"Let's get out of here." Cinderella said leading the way for them. They could hear the twins shouting at them demanding for a story but they ignored them and continued running.
At Mad hatter's house:
They met the mad hatter a. k. a Akaya Kirihara along with the others a. k. a. their classmates. They started singing 'unbirthday' songs especially when Alice told the mad hatter that it wasn't her birthday too. They continued singing until Cinderella got bored and tried to leave the place.
The mad matter didn't let them and asked his friends to pour some tea to their cups. They didn't have a choice but to accept the offer. Cinderella find time on how to escape and when she did she finally took that chance and escape with Alice.
Their problem was when they started to eat or drink something; they would become grow taller or shorter. Alice became worried and cried when she got taller making Cinderella soaked at her tears. She promised to help her maintain her natural height. She drank something and made her come back to her original size. They met the caterpillar a.k.a Inui Sadaharu and told them the solution to their problem… not missing to calculate something.

They continued their journey they reached a castle. They met soldiers a.k.a their classmates and were painting the roses red. They just stood there watching their activities. Then Alice noticed the white rabbit entering the castle so she followed it.
"Alice!" Cinderella followed her when she heard her call the white rabbit.
Cinderella followed Alice inside the castle. The latter stopped at a door and was looking inside. She frowned at what she was doing, "What are you doing?"
"Shh," She whispered placing a finger to her lips, "Someone is being sentenced."
"What?" She wondered about what she said and peeked inside as well. Her eyes widened when she saw who was being sentenced. Recognizing who it was she opened the door and announced her arrival;
"Prince Charming!"
Everyone looked at her and so as Alice.
"P-Prince Charming?" Alice repeated and then looked at the prince who was standing in front of the people—err—creature.
"The nameless lady," Prince Charming said and walked towards her, "I've been looking for you."
Cinderella frowned at him, "Why are you looking for me? And why are you here?"
Prince Charming surprised Cinderella by kneeling in front of her and showed the glass slippers to her, "You are the one for me, miss. Marry me when we get home."
Alice and the others a.k.a their classmates sweat dropped. Cinderella just looked at him for a few seconds before she reached out…
…To her slipper.
"I am glad that you brought it for me," She said wearing the slipper to her other foot, "It's hard to walk without the pair," But then she remembered something, "Mou, the other pair is with Mr. Rabbit."
"what?" Prince Charming was shocked at her words.
Cinderella said and then walked towards Alice.
"You! Newcomers!"
They looked in front when they heard someone talked.
"How dare you interrupt our case? That person there needs to be punished!" The queen of hearts a. k. a. Kawamura Takashi, who was brandishing her wand said, "You interfered so you should be punished to!"
"M-my queen, I think that you should—" The king of hearts a. k. a their classmate said but was cut when the queen of hearts shouted;
"BURNING!" She said making everyone shock, "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!"
Alice and Cinderella were shocked when they were surrounded by the card soldiers a. k. a their classmates. Alice looked at Cinderella when the latter grabbed her hand.
"Let's run."
"What?"
Before she could understand what she said, Cinderella pulled her to a run. The soldiers followed them behind. The queen kept shouting at them. And as they continued to run, they ran to the creature—err—people that they meet earlier; the Cheshire cat, tweedledee and tweedledum, the caterpillar and the mad hatter.
Cinderella was even shocked to see her stepmother and her two stepsisters on their way. Soon they followed them as well.
"Usagi-san!" Alice said when she spotted the rabbit running beside them.
"I am late, really late, nya!" Mr. White Rabbit said as he continued to hop, "I am late."
"Usagi-san!" She called again and this time the rabbit looked at her.
"Hi, are you late too, nya?"
"Anou… where are you going? Why do you keep saying that you are late?" Alice said.
The white rabbit looked at her and thought hard, "That makes me think hard too…" The rabbit said and then grinned at her, "I don't know."
She sweat dropped when she got her answer.
"Weird rabbit." Cinderella whispered as they continued to run. She remembered something and went closer to the rabbit and showed the rabbit her hand, "Give me back my slipper."
The white rabbit looked at her and sweat dropped. The rabbit didn't do anything so it was Cinderella who grabbed the slippers which was hanging from the clock that it was holding.
"Sankyuu." She said as she wore them and continued to run.
"Can you take us home, Usagi-san?" Alice asked after a while.
The rabbit thought first before he grinned and replied, "Okay, hop in."
"What?" Cinderella frowned when she saw the rabbit showed his back. Alice didn't hesitate to climb at his back and then they both looked at her.
"Come on Cinderella-san," Alice said offering her to her, "It's better this way."
"No way, you can't make me." She said running ahead of them.
"She's a snob," The white rabbit said but since he was faster, he immediately chased her and put her to his back making the latter retorted. They ignored her complain and continued running making the distance farther from their chasers, "Let's go home, minna!"
A blinding light welcome the three of them, with Cinderella's complaining words. The area started to get brighter until it was covered with a curtain. Applauses were followed after that. Then the curtain was lifted once again and the casts of Cinderella in Wonderland fell in straight line and bowed at the same time.
Shiraishi who was narrating the story all the time bowed as well.
The people inside the theater were still clapping before and after the performance. They only concluded the play in their thoughts.
They liked it.
Later on:
He looked pale after the play. He didn't want to do it ever again. His senpais were teasing him to no end but at the same time were praising him and Sakuno for a job well done.
"Ochibi's really cute nya," Eiji said hugging the boy as he brushed his cheek to his own in the process, "I knew that everybody would love you in that get up."
He closed an eye as he tried to push him away, "Stop with the remarks senpai. I won't buy it."
"But you are good Echizen," Horio said as he went closer to him, Katsuo and Kachiro were behind him, "The audience really like you."
Ryoma grunted when he heard that. He looked when Sakuno chuckled a little. He frowned at her behavior. The girl was acting like a real one. Couldn't she notice that herself? What if someone recognized her there?
She should be careful of her movements from now on.
"It was such a nice play. Thank you for inviting us."
They looked behind only to see Yukimura and Akaya walking towards them. They were still clad with their own costume; much to the latter's annoyance.
Tezuka nodded at them, "It's good that you enjoyed the play."
"I think not all of us though," Yukimura said smiling at Ryoma and then to Sakuno, "It seems that someone was not really acting in the play a while ago."
Sakuno was pretty shocked when the blue haired bishounen said that. She felt a little awkward at the stare he was giving her.
"Saa, everyone seemed to enjoy the play, "Fuji interrupted after that. Sakuno secretly thanked the tensai when he started to speak, "We enjoyed doing the play too. We are looking forward for your further cooperation in the future." He bowed at them.
"Hai, the pleasure's mine." Yukimura bowed too. Akaya didn't say anything but he knew that he was reluctant about it. If it wasn't for his Captain he wouldn't have been there doing the play.
"What are you talking about, senpai?" Ryoma asked all of the sudden.
Fuji and the others looked at him and asked back, "What do you mean?"
"Why are you looking forward for their cooperation?"
Fuji flinched a little when he asked that but he recovered afterwards, "Don't you know? We are going to do the play every Friday of the first month of the festival."
"What?" His eyes widened. He didn't hear that news at all. Just what was really happening?
"You really didn't know?" Sakuno asked him this time.
Ryoma just shook his head before he grunted.
"Echizen will be in wonderland for the month." Fuji said still giving them the smile that he had.
He looked around him and wished that he was dreaming. He really wished that he was dreaming. This isn't really happening.
Few Days later:
The play continued much to Ryoma's annoyance and irritation. Sakuno just sweat dropped at his behavior. He kept complaining but he still did his role, well minus the acting. He was just like reading a book when he started saying his lines.
Typical of Ryoma alright.
She was beginning to enjoy the first month of the festival. Sumire had warned her to act cool especially when she was doing the play. She was Alice and Alice was a girl.
She was a girl who was disguising as a boy but her role in the play was a girl. It might be possible that someone could see the real her. She must take precautions at that. She had the feeling that Yukimura from RikkaiDai had noticed her so she must try to act cool and aloof once again.
She didn't want to be busted, not as early as that.

They died down before but now they were doing it again. His fanboys were getting at him once again. He didn't want that. When Sakuno arrived in Seigaku, their attention was shifted to the girl knowing that she was a boy. He wasn't the one anymore. The girl was still receiving love confessions towards the other boys and so as he, only he felt awkward because he was a real boy.
And speaking of the girl, rumors had been spread that she was going out with the tensai. She was dating Fuji as Jerry not as Sakuno. Even it was like that, he couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable about it. He didn't even know why he was feeling that.
The school thought that they were going out as gays, but he knew the real thing.
Jerry was a girl. She was a real girl. Did Fuji know about it? He didn't know. What was worst for that was, she didn't even protest about the news. She didn't have the guts to do so.
Sighing, he wished that everything was over so that he could turn back to his old routine. He didn't want to stay in Cinderella outfit despite that he only had to wear them and roam around every Friday. He wanted this stupid festival to finish.
Last Friday of the Month:
They had finished doing the play that day and in a few moments from now they would be rewarding the class that was the most creative one.
The other classes performed well and even some of them did other plays and cafes and other activities that they could think of. The other exchanged students also participated in other classes thus, making the first month of the festival memorable.
But only one should be picked. The choosing one would be rewarded an exam-free of all academic subjects and was treated for food for a week. The class would be the priority number one for that week.
Sakuno was on her way to the club with her Alice get up. She was still with her complete outfit and wig. She thought of removing it when she got to the club and then she would go to the gym where the announcement would be held.
"Yo, Arisu-chan."
She stopped when someone talked to her. She spotted the 'mad hatter' leaning on jamb of a door, "Y-you're Kirihara-san, right?"
He looked at her before he smirked, "No, I am the mad hatter, you see."
She sweat dropped when he said that. Somehow, the guy in front of her seemed to be so aloof and not easy to get along with. She had the feeling that he was very difficult to deal with but why was he talking to her now.
"You know, something's odd about you." He said looking at her this time.
"W-what do you mean?" She started to get nervous when Kirihara started to walk towards her direction.
"You don't act in front of the stage," He said staring at her eyes, "You are acting the real you."
"What? What do you mean by that?" She asked recklessly laughing as she looked away, "O-of course I should act to make everything real for the audience." She was shocked when he suddenly placed a hand to the wall which was just behind her. She didn't realized that he was already cornered her there.
"Really?" He replied giving her the cold stare, "There is something that you haven't told them, have you?"
Her eyes widened when he said that. She knew that she was blushing but it was for a different reason. They were close to each other but she was not aware of that. His stare was making her speechless. Did this guy in front of her know her secret?
She was completely doomed if he was.
Done! How was this chapter? How was my version of Cinderella/Alice in Wonderland? Haha, I didn't know what I was doing when I was writing it. I hope it worked though… Sorry... the others aren't here yet... even Kintarou too... maybe in the next chapter... tee hee hee...

By the way do you remember Ryoma's Cinderella outfit in Pairpuri? That was what I used here... tee hee hee... Well, I had Ryoma to dress here as a girl... it wasn't like he never did in Pairpuri despite that they were only slideshows. Tee hee hee... I do not own Pairpuri and never will.
This was not comical enough in my own opinion but what do you think? Tell me your thoughts pleases domo...
