"Shigure!" They yelled out excitedly as they ran to the man, wrapping their arms around him.
"So how is she?" Yuki asked quietly.
"Yeah how's Tohru?" Kyo asked more loudly.
Shigure frowned, looking hurt, "And here I thought my boys would be worried about me," He sighed, "What a shame."
Yuki rolled his eyes, "Would you quit messing around old man?"
Shigure gasped and spoke suggestively, "Old? How dare you. Now I won't tell you a thing as punishment, except that I am taking very good care of the girl."
"Knock it off you old pervert!" Kyo yelled.
Ayame laughed, "Oh how we've missed you lucky Kyo. You too Yuki."
Kyo shook his fist at Ayame, "Go slither into a hole you stupid snake."
"Now now Kyo, play nicely," Akito warned as he walked past. Chills shot up his spine and he cringed. Momiji came running up with Haru in tow.
"Guys guys we have news!" Momiji yelled excitedly.
"What is it?" Yuki asked, sounding genuinely curious.
"It's something really great, totally awesome, you guys will love it so much!" Momiji exclaimed.
"Spit it out already you damn brat," Kyo said glaring angrily at the boy who was still wearing a girls uniform as he twirled happily in front of him.
Momiji stopped and began crying, "Wahhh someone Kyo's, being mean to me!"
"Now that's not very nice," Ayame said.
Shigure nodded, "Yes Kyo the boy is only happy to see you."
"Cut him some slack why don't ya?" Haru said.
Kyo blushed and rubbed the back of his head at the chastising, "My bad guys."
"Kyo come here please,"Akito called. Kyo's hands shook and he looked to Shigure and the others for help but they could only look away.
"Do I have to repeat myself Kyo? You know how much I do not enjoy that right?"
Kyo bit his lip and walked to where Akito was standing at the head of the table. When Akito said nothing Kyo rubbed his arm nervously and remained silent.
"Did I not tell you to be on your best behavior Kyo?" Akito asked.
"Y-yes you did," Kyo whispered, hoping that no one was listening.
"Anddd?" Akito asked.
Kyo shrugged looking more humbled than the others had ever seen him as he played with his wrists, "I'm sorry. I wasn't meaning to cause any trouble. I always talk to Momiji like that."
Akito's eyes flashed with anger and Kyo put up his hands, "N-no I mean like...well not always, I wasn't trying, he knows I wasn't-"
"Silence," Akito said holding his hand up, "Go apologize."
Kyo nodded, "Yes Sir."
He turned around to go back but Akito spoke again, "And Kyo if I hear from your teachers that you speak this way to your family in class..."
Kyo turned to Akito with wide eyes, "You mean?" Kyo gave a slight smile at the announcement but quickly played it off. They transferred back to school! Maybe now it wouldn't be so boring all the time. At least he would know some people. Ayame and Shigure had already made their way to the adult end to talk to Hatori and the others.
"Aw Akito told you our news didn't he?" Momiji whined as Kyo returned. Kyo was just about to give a sarcastic answer but he stopped himself and sighed, "Yes Momiji."
"Now now Momiji don't whine, you know it upsets Akito when you do," Haru said.
"Right. Sorry Haru, but anyways Kyo you're excited right? I mean why wouldn't you be? Me and you and Haru and Yuki and Kagura,"Momiji rambled.
"W-wait what! Kagura?" Kyo asked.
Kagura joined their group, jumping in out of nowhere and immediately punching Kyo in his shoulder, "Why? Do you have a problem with that?"
"Actually I..." Kyo's eyes met Akito's angry ones for a split second before looking away, "No I don't." He rubbed his arm and tried to ignore her by looking away.
"Aw look at that, someone's shy, and it sounds like you are finally accepting your role as my soon to be husband," Kagura said happily. Kyo clenched his fists at his sides and Yuki could tell he was about to burst.
"Calm down Kyo keep it together," Yuki whispered.
Kagura was now tugging on Kyo's arm, shaking him back and forth like a rag doll, "Kyo and Kagura sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love then comes marriage-"
"Then comes furry bacon in a baby carriage," Haru finished. Momiji and Yuki chuckled.
"Hey don't make fun of our future children!" Kagura yelled.
Kyo's face turned red when everyone looked at them and he angrily shrugged her off, "Let go of me!"
Akito cleared his throat, "Yuki, Kyo, up front here next to me. You may all be seated." Everyone shuffled around to their designated seats.
Kyo and Yuki reluctantly took their place next to Akito, "We will discuss this later." Kyo shook his head, there would never be a time where he would not be in trouble.
"I'm hungry," Momiji whined.
"Yeah starving," Haru said and others agreed.
"Well Yuki should be apologizing for that," Akito explained, "The staff are a little behind because of him."
"'M sorry everyone," Yuki blushed and sunk in his seat, suddenly finding the table mat very interesting. They all asked some form of "Why?"
"What did you do Yuki?" Ayame asked.
"W-well I thought I wouldn't finish my homework in time so I called the staff," Yuki paused, but Akito urged him to continue the story, "and I told them Akito told me to."
"What a dork," Haru chuckled.
"I didn't do it because of that! I had other reasons for... needing to be done before dinner..." Yuki answered awkwardly.
"And where did that get you Yuki," Akito asked.
Yuki blushed and very carefully answered, "In the same spot I would have been in, had I not finished the homework in the first place."
"I see, and Kyo, where do you fall in this?" Akito asked.
Kyo clenched his teeth, "Well since I didn't finish..." The table was quiet with a mixture of nervousness and confusion.
"My poor pets, we will have fun tonight won't we?" Akito asked.
Yuki looked down and blushed, embarrassed by the announcement, "Yes sir." Kyo rolled his eyes and looked away.
Akito grabbed Kyo's chin and roughly forced him back around, "Wont. We?"
Kyo cringed and nodded, "Yes Sir. Loads." Everyone held their breath as Akito's eyes filled with rage at Kyo's sarcastic answer. Some were frozen in terror as they watched, and others looked away, but not one dared to speak. The room was silent for a split second before the doors opened and the workers interrupted averting their attention. Akito shoved Kyo away forcefully.
There was a resounding smack that made everyone freeze and turn back to the scene just in time to see Akito rubbing his hand with a napkin and Kyo clutching his face. The area faded into a bright red color immediately revealing Akito's hand print.
"I'm sorry you all had to see that, carry on," Akito said. The servers quickly returned to their work and no one dared to look up as the dinner began.
"Eat," Akito ordered to the two as they had not yet started. Yuki quickly picked up his chopsticks and began.
Kyo refused the urge to reach up and rub the sting away as his eyes filled with tears. He missed Shigure. Sure Shigure had been known to deal out a few smackings when they really deserved it, but never would he humiliate him in front of the entire family in this way. He missed his freedom, he missed Tohru, and he missed his home.
Akito stood and pointed towards the door, "Go home, now."
Kyo knew it wasn't an option, and without thinking he rose and hurried for the door as tears streamed down his face. He quickly started for the house but stopped abruptly in his tracks. They were all at dinner. This was his chance. It might be his only chance.
He wiped his eyes feeling angry at himself for losing control in such a way, however he had more important things to worry about now. Like was it worth the risk? Tohru's smiling flashed in his mind and suddenly it was made up. He dashed towards the gates. He ran so fast that he almost didn't see the guards approaching. He quickly duck behind a wall and held his breath. Akitoo must have sent them.
He peered around trying to think of any means of escaping without being caught. He rolled his eyes at himself and quickly transformed. There, where he had just stood, a little orange cat grinned widely. Without ease, he made his way past the unsuspecting people and jumped. He grasped the ledge of the wall and pulled himself up.
It had been a while since he'd been in this form, and he had to regain his senses. He jumped down and fled as quickly as he could. His little paws beating against the soggy ground beneath him. He was free! He was finally free!
