Book I- Chapter X

Sonic's Point of View

I was never sure whether or not this was just me being slightly paranoid or I actually had reason, but I had a feeling of dread as I approached rendezvous point Tails had assigned for us. I would later find out that my fear was requited.

When I arrived, I saw Tails and two other figures. One, I recognized was Kane, whom I had spoken to earlier. There was someone else but they were hooded. More than likely another defected E.A.I Agent. I advanced upon them. Tails looked at me with a sigh of relief.

"Thank goodness you're here. One of these guys says he knows you but I wasn't sure if I could trust him"

"Yes you can, I can guarantee it." I assured him "Tails this is Kane, Kane my best bro Tails"

Kane nodded, however his gaze was off in another direction. His face obviously displayed some form of worry.

"Everything alright dude?" I asked him, "He hasn't come back…" He said without looking away.

"You mean Tesla don't you" said the hooded figure "I told you, Frost took him down easily Wouldn't be surprised if he…"

Kane lunged and grabbed the speaker by the throat, revealing him to be red fox with burning orange eyes.

"I said it before and I will say it again; You are nothing but a coward who has others take out the trash for you Shift"

Shift shook his head and laughed maniacally. Kane pushed against his throat harder causing Shift to gag. He looked down angrily.

""Fine, I take it back. He is probably fine. Now put me down."

Kane reluctantly brought him to ground level. Tails then cleared his throat and looked around anxiously

"If we are done with the antics, I'd like to find Eggman first and dispose of the crystal immediately. I don't want to take chances"

"I fear that you may have some other unfinished matters to attend to" said an all too familiar voice

Frost, standing with his arms crossed stood behind us with a slight grin. That should have been my first indicator of something being off. The second should have been his eyes no longer being the cyan blue but a deep magenta and had a hungry look to them. The third was the freaking sword held at his side with blood stained on it.

I felt paralyzed with fear and awe. The fact that he had the audacity to kill someone and not knowing who he killed or how many people he could have hurt. All over me not putting an end to this madness to begin with.

I could tell Tails was probably if not thinking the same ting I was. Kane on the other hand had a look of pure fury in his eyes. He pushed me aside and marched toward Frost.

"Where is Tesla?! So help me if…"

Before he could finish his sentence a black cat with venomous green eyes appeared from behind a tree. Kane looked at him in awe

"Tesla, there you are!" Kane took off charging to grab the cat. Right past Frost which to which Frost smiled even more. Tails caught on before any of us did.

"Kane no!" However his plea was too late as Tesla lunged with electricity surrounding his body. He slammed head first into Kane sending them both into a nearby tree.

Tesla got up easily but Kane sat their in a daze, clutching his head and rocking back and forth. Tesla transformed into a bolt of lightning at moved to Frost's side before materializing in his normal form. His eyes were wide open and un-blinking.

"Tails" I whispered "Did the reports say anything about mind control" I was slowly piecing it together

"It did not mention anything about the host extending his reach over others…" Tails must have suddenly had an epiphany "Unless Master Erezium is actually physically in Frost's body"

Frost pointed his sword at us.

"Sonic, I believe I will renounce my threat earlier as I no longer need you. That however will not stop me from erasing you from existence." He said his with a smile that matched his insanity.

"You it what army?" Shift said cockily, which I regretted and no doubt he did too.

Two girls (no doubt agents) appeared. One was a gray mouse with a white long sleeve shirt and

blue pants. Another was a russet sparrow with the usual E.A.I coat highlighted with what looked like steel.

"This army" The sparrow spat in Shift's direction.

Shift immediately looked like he had seen his worst nightmare come true. Tails on the other hand looked shocked and almost betrayed? He was looking at the mouse who seemed to share his exact emotion.

"You're with him?!" Tails said still recovering "But why…what would you get from this? He's playing you. Both of you!"

"You beat me by one second, because I was going to tell you the same thing" She retorted.

Tails still looked hurt. "I should have known from the moment I saw you something was out of place" He spoke

She huffed.

"If this is your attempt at a scare tactic, you are doing a mediocre job at it."

Tails glared at her and began to make an approach. The mouse pulled a scythe from behind her and pointed it in Tails' direction.

"Pick your next move wisely. You are smart afterall, and we wouldn't want a great mind like yours " She sneered. I placed my hand in front of Tails to make sure he didn't try anything that would get himself hurt.

The sparrow on the other hand was laughing like a hyena.

"You goons don't get it, you're outmatched, and by technicality out numbered…"

"Stuff it" Kane said in the distance. We looked back to see him getting up and approaching us. "I'm sick of everyone pretending to not see what the problem is"

He motioned toward Frost "Guys, our friend is possessed by the soul of the dude we were taught was our savior. Grey, you're too naïve to see it and Ela so are you" Kane looked down at his feet "And now because of my poor instinct Tesla is also a victim of this too…"

"Kane…" Grey muttered

"And Shift, because you couldn't to think about others for one minute you risked the lives of many." His voice becoming shaky with every word "And now because of the six of us failed to see the lies we've been fed for years, these two have been dragged into the conflict with us." He cried while motioning to Tails and I.

Silence hung in the air for what seemed like hours. Until a familiar laugh rung through the clearing. Standing (or hovering rather) behind us was Dr. Eggman.

"So it seems you all have seen through my charade. Or most of it for that matter." He looked down at Frost "you were not entirely apart of my plan. Absorbing the soul was not what I anticipated you would do but changes can be made."

As if on cue, A hooded wolf in his late 60s materialized in front of Eggman's carrier.

"None of that should matter, as our initial goal has come full circle." The hooded figure looked at our once important standoff. "However never did I imagine some of my best and brightest turning against me."

Shift pointed his crossbow at the enemy. "This is what I was telling you all about, don' all think it is strange there is so much being kept from us? Low and behold, it all unravels in front of us. Auroro has been holding out this whole time.

Auroro only stood there and laughed. His laugh started as a chuckled and became a roar sending a chill down all of our spines." My deeds are a necessary evil in this world. Repaying the years of torment we suffered at the hands of those who deemed having kinetic abilities witchcraft and sorcery. The world can be a safe place for us again if we purge it. Our savior..." He pointed towards Frost "Has been awakened and only needs to be freed from his current host"

Auroro began to approach Frost however Tesla and Grey stood in his way. Tesla finally looked like he had broken free of whatever trance he was in but he looked groggy.

"Not. A. Step. Closer" Grey growled from clenched teeth. "You partially got him into this mess, we'll rely on our own wit to get him out"

"No need" Frost spoke in a deep town "It was about time I actually shed body, he has the potential but he isn't comfortable with the necessary risks."

His body began to glow in every known color possible, blinding everyone. When my vision was normal, I could see Frost's body on the ground with a 10 foot dragon standing in a robe of black and white. In his right hand held a staff that was double his height, His scales seemed to gleam as light was reflected onto them. His eyes vibrantly glowed silver.

He took a gander at the scene that lay before him. Grey and Tesla took one look behind them and jumped. The dragon took amusement in their shock, while twirling his staff. Auroro kneeled and bowed his head.

"Greetings my master, the plan went according to plan or the most part" He said in low tone. "Shall we claim the world from them?"

The dragon kept his smile "Yes, but I'm afraid you are not fit to be apart of it". Without missing a beat, the dragon impaled Auroro. Everyone, including Eggman, was shocked. With little effort, Auroro was thrown aside and went limp. The dragon seemed to watch in amusement as everyone took steps back in fear. Giving no warning, his body was distorted by space around him and he disappeared.

As shock began clearing the air, Kane walked over to Frost and picked him up by the collar. "Wake up" He shouted "You have questions to answer". Kane began slapping him across the face repeatedly.

"Kane stop he's already awake" Grey shouted

Frost looked up groggily and survey his surroundings. A look of surprise and pain rushed across his face. He clenched his head and began grunting. Kane set him down as Frost began to writhe in agony.

:"Why did you do it Frost? Now we have a murderous deity on the loose!" Kane yelled

Frost looked up confused and pained "Who's Frost?"

It would seem as though the results of possession have side effects of amnesia. Hopefully the issue can be resolved later.
