The morning came fast but waking up to the smell of coffee made her smile. She took her time to get ready for work. It was the first time she wouldn't wear her chest binder. It felt weird to know you would be the number one topic from now on even in your own team. Normally Havoc and the other guys would give her shit about her one nights stands she never had. That would from today.
She walked down the stairs and smiled at the table with breakfast. "You know I could have made breakfast as well, Ed.", she smiled brightly. "And you know as good as me that you needed sleep more than anything right now." Edward smiled back as he placed a plate with omelet in front of her on the table. "So don't complain about a caring boyfriend and dig in, okay? You will need your energy today." Edward seated himself right next to her and started to eat.
After breakfast they got ready to leave for work. While Ed was showering Romy grow more and more nervous until she felt a pair of strong arms around her waist. "You should stop pacing or the floor will break cause it will get to thin." Edward joked. "I am sorry. I am just kinda nervous you know. It is all new and I am scared. Can't we just leave and start over?"
"Romy you can't just vanish from the worlds view. You should at least work everything far enough out, that you wouldn't get trouble with anyone." Romy nodded in agreement. "You are probably right. Would you come with me? I mean would you start a new life with me and leave Roy behind?" Romy asked after sometime. Edward didn't really have to think twice to answer. "Yes I will. Nothing is holding me here now." Romy started to smiles happily. "I guess I should have a talk with Bradley then, mh?" Edward nodded and started to get dressed.
As they arrived at the headquarter it was floated with journalists from all kind of newspapers. Romy took Edwards hand and walked right through them ignoring every question they had. They only answer she gave before she enters the building through it's door was. "Yes I am Romy Mustang, Roy Mustang never existed in the first place." Proud with herself she walked with Edward in her office where she was greeted with lightly staring coworkers. "Ask if you want to know something." She smiled shyly. Over a hour she was bombed with questions that she all answered more or less detailed until the secretary of Bradley walked in and announced she household come to his office.
Their conversation has gone better than she thought and he even understood her need to start all over. "Edward he will let us leave, we can start all over!", she yelled happily as she arrived back in the office. "You want to leave us boss?" Havoc asked surprised. "Yes I want to start over new I want to be the women I am meant to be. I want to live my life. I hope you can understand and respect that." Romy smiled at all of them the first real smile in years. It wasn't the smirk she created for Roy Mustang. No it was a bright honest smile like every girl would show them.
Edward looked amazed at her smiled back at her and kisses her forehead with out thinking causing her to blush deeply. "Ed stop! That is embarrassing!" Romy was hiding her face in Edwards chest who laughed softly. "Not going to happen." He continued to laugh.
A few days later everything was settled Romy and Edward would go to Xing to start a new life. They wouldn't cut the ties with their friends but they would live their own new life there. Romy has packed here belongings and gave her apartment free for rent. Edward was at the headquarter to give the watches back and getting some "Good luck" or "Watch out for her". He replied. "I will always watch her don't worry." He left afterwords and picked up Romy and her belongings. "Are you ready Romy?" Edward asked as he walked in the empty living room. "More than ready." Romy smiled happily.
"And that darling was how your grandpa and I met. I bet your mom could tell you some more stories." Romy smiled at the little girl before at the little fireplace. She was happy with her life it was all in all not so bet. She had her diary in her lap, writing her last entry cause all pages were full with her memories good and bad ones.
Dear Diary,
this will be our last entry. Your pages are filled with my memories good and bad ones. The discovery of my pregnancy, the birth and my grand children. I even glued some pictures inside to never forget those memories or to let the next generation know about their grandma and grandpa.
Anyways we are more than happy with our life. I guess I wasn't the worst thing that Edward found out my gender I guess it was the best thing that ever happened. I am grateful for everything that happened and I don't ever want anything to change. Maybe only that my mother would have met Edward and our little girl. Or that dad would have met her before his dead, but he never changed his opinion. Enough sad stuff. I am glad I had you my diary to write of my feelings but now rest and good bye. Your happy living wife, mother and grandma
Romy
I know it isn't long but I felt to close it here :) Tell me if you want a sequel or anything like that :)
