Blue Sword Arc

Chapter 8 - Confrontation

Kuroko ran as fast as he could. It didn't matter where he went as long as he escapes that treacherous place. Anything is better than THAT place.

The teal head boy panted as he ran, not looking behind him to see if his chasers are catching up. He just ran. He ran through the dark alleyways of Tokyo city until he saw a crossroad full of people.

He ran there, taking his chasers by surprise when he ran into the public eye. But its not like the pursuers didn't give up. They followed Kuroko into the crowd, which made Kuroko change his plan.

Instead he'll lose them in the crowd. Kuroko maneuvered around, using his misdirection to blend in with the people. It proved to effective when the men in black suits couldn't see him anymore.

The men continued to wonder around in the crowd, but now it was too late. Kuroko had escaped into another dark alleyway, watching as his persuaders struggle to find him among the many people on the crosswalk.

Kuroko took a deep breath as he leaned on the wall nearby and slid down in exhaustion. He ran for about half an hour, and with his poor stamina it really took a tool on him.

Kuroko took the opportunity to rest but knew that he couldn't stay in one place for too long. The teal head got up and walked further into the dark streets of Tokyo, where no soul dares to venture.

Its not like he had a choice so he ventured into the darkness, as if its promising freedom, whispering it into the teen's ears.

Kuroko walked and finally decided that this will be the place he will settle in. The road led to a dead end but there were many piles of boxes there that he could make a shelter from.

Kuroko didn't waste time, or more like his fatigue pleaded him to just lie down and rest. Kuroko piled up the many cardboard boxes he found on the street and used them to make a shelter.

It wasn't much but it will do to protect him from the rain and possibly some cold nights. After assembling the box, Kuroko threw himself inside and closed his eyes.

As soon as he did, he fell asleep.

At the time Kuroko was 14 years old and was about to have an encounter of his lifetime. An encounter that didn't start off so well, but would be one to last a lifetime.

xXx

It's almost been a week since Kuroko has escaped and become homeless. The young teen ravaged through the rubbish bins of a restaurant in hopes to find some food to survive.

As he searched the large container of trash, flashes of the horrendous place he had escaped from appeared before him.

The face of the man he had trusted and became his father figure looked down on him with a huge grin. Not of happiness but of greed and personal gain.

Then beside the familiar face of his guardian stood many people who wore lab clothing with goggles, and facemasks looking down on him. Kuroko couldn't see their faces clearly bit without a doubt knew that they had the very same expression his guardian did.

Kuroko shivered when he remembered the many tasers, needles and many other things he can't even name being used on him. It hurt. The pain was indescribable.

Kuroko got out of the container, not feeling hungry anymore, he decided to head back to his shelter of boxes.

As Kuroko walked back, he noticed a small cat approaching him. He was never fond of cats but this one seemed strange. A cat with… horns?

The teal head looked at the strange creature in wonder as it approached him and rubbed its body against his legs. Purring while doing it.

Kuroko looked down at it before picking it up and holding it up to his chest. Surprisingly, the cat didn't have any complaints as it let itself be touched and patted.

'You're a cat, right?' Kuroko asked but the cat simply mewed in response. It acted as a cat but with horns and unnaturally sharp claws, Kuroko didn't know what to make of it.

He put the cat back down after patting it, giving it back its freedom, which he knows is a valuable thing. After all, he only just acquired it.

Kuroko walked away but tilted his head backwards to see that the cat was following him. He turned to ignore the cat but with the cat's persistence, he decided to let the creature sleep with him in the box.

The two neared his shelter as Kuroko got inside and lay down, with the cat immediately settling down beside him. Kuroko looked at the strange black cat, thinking on what to do with it.

Kuroko sighed as he patted the cat. 'You can live here with me.' He said and the cat mewed to agree.

Kuroko didn't mind the company of the cat. He finally got a friend who can face his hardships with him.

xXx

It's been a week since Kuroko became homeless now and truly, it's been strange. He didn't feel lonely at all, with all the ten strange creatures that are now living with him in the box.

Kuroko has no idea how it happened but somehow after meeting the cat with horns, more creatures came his way. First it was a crow with unnaturally sharp feathers, then a strange flying creature he doesn't even know what to classify as and then a strange dog that had no fur on.

Kuroko accepted all of them into his shelter. Hoping he can help them survive. The life of a homeless is a terrible one. You don't know if you'll survive to life the next day or if you'll have any food or water to eat/drink.

This way, they could all work together to provide necessities to survive. However, over time, about a day after the new creatures arrived, Kuroko started feeling sick.

He started to have more headaches; feeling more fatigue and even had a temperature here and there. Maybe it was the lack of food, but Kuroko doubted that was the cause. He eats little to begin with and doesn't require that much food to survive, which led him to think that something else is the cause of his sickness.

But with or without feeling sick, Kuroko had to go out to scavenge for food. He doesn't have a choice if he wants to survive.

He tried asking the small creatures, but as clever as they seemed to be, they just made some noises and cuddled around him. Perhaps they didn't understand him, which meant that he had to go gather food by himself.

Kuroko weakly stood up on his legs and went to a container of a restaurant near by. Usually he would find some food there, which is thrown away only for its expired date. Luckily, it was usually just one day of expiration so Kuroko could eat it.

As Kuroko left the shelter, the small creatures followed him. It made Kuroko happy just how much they have warmed up to him. They followed him everywhere and would never leave his sight.

Finally, after a long walk that seemed so easy before, Kuroko arrived to the container. However, before he could begin scavenging, he spotted two legs sticking out from between two of the containers.

Kuroko walked closer to see who it was and when he did, he saw a tanned man sleeping between two trash containers. But what really surprised Kuroko is that he has two… horns, long claws and long ears.

He kind of reminded him of the small creatures following him around, except that this one is a human.

Kuroko decided to wake the strange man up because it's surely not safe to sleep like this on the street, unless he is homeless as well. But somebody could attack him so Kuroko, the good-natured soul he is, decided to wake him up.

The teal head kneeled down before the tanned man and extended his hand to touch his shoulder. 'Excuse m-' Suddenly, the eyes of the tanned man opened to reveal sharp navy blue eyes full of caution.

The man grabbed Kuroko's hand and pushed him towards himself before pinning him against the wall.

Kuroko winced at the harsh treatment, his heart beating rapidly.

'Who are you?' the dark voice of the man could slice the air, sending shivers down Kuroko's spine.

'My name is Kuroko Tetsuya. I saw you sleeping here and decided to wake you up.' Kuroko said, hoping the man would let him go. What if he's a killer? What is he's wanted? Kuroko thought of the worst possible scenarios but hoped they wouldn't come true.

The tanned man's eyes widened as he let go of Kuroko and took a few steps back. Upon release, Kuroko slumped down on the ground and rubbed his bruised fists.

Kuroko turned around to see that the man no longer had the sharp eyes anymore, but had much calmer ones. It made Kuroko wonder if it's truly the same person. Those eyes that wanted to kill him just moments ago, now turned into completely different ones.

'Shit! Oi are you okay?' Kuroko raised an eyebrow as he looked at the man in confusion. A moment ago he was set on killing him and now he's concerned about him?

'Yes I'm fine.' Kuroko stood up to face the strange man who seemed relieved as he took one deep breath.

'That was a close one. Akashi would have my head for that.'

'Akashi?' Kuroko asked confusingly, but just as he did, his small creatures approached him and surrounded him. One of the cats purred under his feet while the others did the same, licked or rubbed against him.

Kuroko patted the five small creatures as he looked up at the tanned man. Kuroko's eyes widened when he noticed that the man was just in front of him. He was further away just a second ago.

Kuroko looked up at the man who again had the eyes set to kill. The man raised his hand up and suddenly blue flames enflamed his right hand. And just as it did, the same blue flames appeared on the small creatures, quickly turning them to ashes.

Kuroko's eyes widened further when all of his small companions disappeared. The man on the other hand, looked ever calm as the blue flame on his hand disappeared.

'What are you doing!?' Kuroko grabbed the man by the collar of his shirt, raising his voice.

'Those were demons. They coiled around you, following you everywhere while draining you of your life energy.' The man looked down at Kuroko, narrowing his eyes.

'Demons?'

'Yeah. They're low class demons that are feeding off of the humans who accept them. They act all friendly and shit but the truth is that they're feeding off you.'

'That… That can't be.'

'Believe it. Were you feeling sick? Tired? If so then its because of those guys.' The man said but didn't do anything.

Kuroko's wide eyes looked at the man in disbelief. A few tears escaping him. In realization, Kuroko quickly let go of the man, taking a few steps back.

'Are you also a demon?' Kuroko looked up at the man's horns, claws and ears.

'Yeah. I'm one of the demon lords of the demon world. Aomine Daiki.' Aomine introduced himself but raised his eyebrow when he noticed Kuroko looking at his horns.

He raised his hands to touch his horns. 'Shit.' Aomine closed his eyes as his body started to glow in blue. Kuroko watched as the horns and the other demonic features slowly disappeared into Aomine's body. Someone could mistake him for a human if they didn't know he is a demon.

The glow on Aomine's body disappeared and as it did, he slowly opened his eyes. 'Better?' He asked but Kuroko was still as confused as ever.

'Aren't you going to kill me? Or eat my soul?'

Aomine scratched the back of his head, looking down before looking back at Kuroko again.

'Nah~ I'm not that type of a guy. Besides, your soul is already reserved for another demon.'

'Another? What do you mean?'

'What? Didn't you meet Akashi? He's your contracted demon' Aomine asked, now confused as well.

'I don't know who Akashi is. I never met him.' Kuroko said, making Aomine raise his hand to his chin.

'I thought you already did. Why the hell didn't Akashi show himself yet? Aomine stood in place, thinking.

Kuroko looked at Aomine in confusion but also a bit of fear. What's more how can he be sure that Aomine isn't lying to him? He keeps mentioning some "Akashi" he has never met before.

Kuroko didn't know what to think of it but decided to walk away. Meddling with demons never brings any good.

Aomine was looking down in thought but when he looked up he noticed that Kuroko was walking away. 'Oi! Wait!' the demon ran after the teal head who started to run away.

'You don't need to run! I won't do anything!' Aomine raised his voice as he ran after Kuroko in the dark alleys.

Kuroko kept quiet and focused on his running, he's feeling sick and he has no stamina to begin with. What was he thinking running away from a demon that would surely catch him?

Aomine ran after the teal head but didn't use his full speed yet and by the looks of it, he won't need to. He slowly ran after the teal head who turned around at a corner and hit a dead end.

Kuroko panted as he turned around to face Aomine once again. The two were in silence, apart from the harsh panting that could be heard coming from Kuroko.

Kuroko looked at Aomine, alerted should the demon do anything. However, suddenly his vision started to blur and the strength in his body began leaving him.

Kuroko's eyes closed as he began falling onto the ground. He prepared himself for the impact, which didn't come. Instead, he felt warm arms catch him and pick him up.

Not being able to maintain consciousness any longer. Kuroko submerged himself into the darkness.

xXx

Kuroko's consciousness returned but felt as if his eyes were stones. He slowly attempted to open them but they closed right away.

When he did manage to open them, his vision became bury. Kuroko blinked once, twice, before his vision finally cleared.

The first thing he noticed is that he's in a futon bed and that somebody is holding his hand. He looked up, noticing the red that was in his vision. Kuroko's vision now completely cleared up and he noticed that the one who is holding his hand is Akashi.

Kuroko tilted his head and noticed that Akashi was sitting beside him, leaning his back on the wall behind him while holding his hand. Kuroko slowly sat up to look around the room.

The room was relatively small, containing only a window, a table, some chairs and a cupboard.

'Tetsuya?' Kuroko turned to look at Akashi and noticed that the demon king is awake.

'Good morning Akashi-kun.' Akashi smiled warmly but leaned back on the wall in exhaustion. He had been watching over Kuroko the entire night since he wasn't sure of the cause of his sickness.

But now that Kuroko is awake, he's relieved and can relax once again.

'Where are we?' Kuroko asked the redhead who opened his eyes to look at his contractor.

'We're in an apartment. The owner doesn't know we're here so we will have to leave shortly.' Akashi looked over at the door, cautious if the owner will come walk in on them. He senses that there is one human in the building but as far as he can tell, they're still sleeping.

'Don't tell me you broke into a house Akashi-kun.' Kuroko deadpanned, looking at the redhead.

'I had no choice Tetsuya. You were in critical condition and needed help.'

'Still, you shouldn't have broken in without their consent.' Kuroko pressed, making Akashi sigh.

'If they don't know that we were here, then it's fine right?' Akashi teasingly said, closing one of his eyes.

'I can't accept that Akashi-kun.' Kuroko looked at Akashi. Neither of them willing to back away.

Suddenly, a small creak on the wooden floor alerted Akashi that the owner is awake.

'We have to go.' Akashi stood up and helped Kuroko up. Kuroko got up slowly but by the slowly increasing steps of the owner, Akashi couldn't waste any time. The demon king picked up his contractor and headed for the window.

'Akashi-kun! You can't be serious!' Kuroko said as he looked down at the window. Now that the steps have gotten closer, his human ears could pick up the noise as well.

Akashi smirked as he put his foot on the window, ready to jump. But before he could, the doors of their room creaked open to reveal an elderly woman with gray hair tied up into a bun.

Her eyes widened as she saw the two intruders in her house. No words came from her as she stood at the doors looking at Kuroko and Akashi.

Akashi cursed at himself before jumping down the window with Kuroko in his arms. The elderly woman ran towards the window when the two jumped and a sigh of relief escaped her when she saw that the two have made it safely down.

'Wait!' the elderly woman called out, as loud as she could.

'Let's go Tetsuya.' Akashi grabbed Kuroko's hand and started running away. Kuroko on the other hand, tilted his head to the side to see that the elderly woman is crying while calling for them.

'P-Please wait! Please!' the woman called out in desperation. Seeing how desperate she is, Kuroko stopped in his tracks, stopping Akashi as well who held onto his hand.

Akashi looked at Kuroko in confusion before the teal head looked up to the redhead. 'Wait Akashi-kun. We can't just leave.'

'We can't stay here either. She'll report us to Noir.' Akashi stressed but Kuroko looked back at the crying woman at the window. Her eyes pleading for them not to run away.

Kuroko clenched his hand in Akashi's, begging him to stay. 'I'll take full responsibility.' Kuroko looked into Akashi's eyes and the redhead looked back at him.

Kuroko was determined but Akashi weighted out the options as well. If they stay here, she might report them. Then they would get caught and it would be game over. But something told Akashi to trust in his contractor so he decided to go with it.

'Alright.' Akashi said and Kuroko smiled in response. The two turned around and saw that the woman was looking at them through the window.

When she noticed that the two are walking towards the house, the elderly woman immediately left and walked down the stair to them.

Akashi and Kuroko waited in front of the house when the doors opened to them. The elderly woman opened the doors and looked at Kuroko with watery eyes. Kuroko didn't know what had caused her to cry so much. Why would someone cry when they see two people running away from your house, in which they have sneaked in and slept in?

'I'm sorry' the woman apologized, rubbing her eyes from the tears.

'We're the ones who should apologize. We slept in your house without permission. We're sorry.' Kuroko bowed before the elderly woman while Akashi folded his arms and looked at her.

'Its alright. Why don't you come in? I'll make you some tea.' The woman moved away so that Kuroko and Akashi could enter, which they did. They walked in before the woman seated them down on one of the empty tables.

'Give me just a minute' she excused herself to make some tea before walking away. She seated the two of them on one of the tables that is in the restaurant right below where she lives.

She must be self-employed, working here and when she finishes she goes up to sleep in her apartment. Quite convenient for an elderly woman.

Kuroko looked around the restaurant while he waited and noticed that it is very well kept. No dust and dirt. The restaurant is really clean but also didn't lack the atmosphere of a home.

There are some small statues here and there which must be the woman's personal possessions, but Kuroko failed to see any photos or any signs of the woman's family. She must be living alone then.

While Kuroko was looking around, Akashi sat on the chair with closed eyes. Waiting for the woman to come back.

Finally, the elderly woman emerged from the kitchen with a tray and on top of it three teacups. She placed it on the table, giving a cup to Kuroko and Akashi before seating herself down.

'Help yourselves.' The woman bowed slightly.

'Thank you.' Kuroko thanked her before taking a sip of the cup. He still felt guilty that they sneaked into her house without permission.

'I'm sorry for before. We should have asked you first if we could use your room.'

'Its alright. Its better that you came here rather than freezing to death outside.' The woman, now calm and collected, sipped on the tea. 'Its not your fault Kuroko-kun, I believe your friend is at fault here.'

She glanced at Akashi who opened one of his eyes to look at her. Kuroko tilted his head in confusion. He doesn't remember introducing himself.

'How do you know my name?' and with Kuroko's question, the woman stopped sipping on her tea. She seemed to be in thought before replying, 'Your friend told me.'

'Akashi-kun?' Kuroko turned to face Akashi, silently asking for an answer. Akashi sighed before taking his cup and drinking some of his tea.

'I wrote a letter and pinned it on her doors. That's how she knew your name.'

Kuroko gave Akashi the look, not really believing the reason. Well, seeing as the elderly woman nodded in agreement, Kuroko decided to let it drop for now. Maybe he's just thinking too much into it.

'My name's Shiori Kyouka. Nice to meet you.' The woman bowed again, Kuroko doing the same, while Akashi sipped on the tea.

'Nice to meet you. And I'm sorry again for before.'

'Its nothing Kuroko-kun. In fact, I would like it if you stayed longer. Or if you don't have a place to stay, you can stay here?' the woman suggested.

'If you don't mind.'

'Not at all! I would like some company.' The woman smiled at Kuroko, happily. Kuroko noticed that the woman's eyes were still a bit wet from the crying. Maybe she's happy that she has company?

'We'll be in your care then.' Akashi spoke up, putting down his cup of tea. He remembered yesterday's events and the slave market they went to. There is something strange about the market and Akashi needs to find out what.

But he doesn't want to risk Kuroko getting ill again so he will have to go in alone. Who knows what dangers might befall his contractor who has the purest soul of all.

'I'll go out for a bit Tetsuya.' Akashi stood up from his chair and looked at his contractor.

'I'll go with you.'

'No. Stay here. You still didn't recover from fainting. I'll come back shortly.' Akashi narrowed his eyes at the elderly woman who returned fire with the same stare. Kuroko looked from one to the other, wondering what's happening.

'I leave him in your care.' Akashi told the woman before walking towards the doors.

'Of course.' She took her cup and sipped on her tea while Akashi went out the doors, heading to the slave market.

Kuroko looked at the closed doors and then back onto the calm woman. 'Umm… Do you know each other?'

'This is the first time we've met son. We just don't seem eye to eye.'

Kuroko tilted his head, confused by the whole thing.

'Ah what I mean by that is, that I know that he was the one who broke into my house. Not you. I knew you were unconscious.'

'You knew we entered your house? Why didn't you call the police?' Kuroko asked in surprise. It would be normal for a sane person to call the police once they see someone breaking into their house.

The elderly woman smiled as she looked at Kuroko. There was silence as Kuroko met the elderly eyes of the woman. She must have seen any things in her life with those eyes.

She didn't reply but she did take another sip off her tea. 'There are many unexpected things in life… We just have to learn to accept them and act accordingly. And that's what I did.'

Kuroko looked at the woman who seemed in thought. Kuroko didn't know what she meant by that but decided not to ask further. The two continued sitting down while drinking tea.

xXx

Akashi walked through the dark streets of Tokyo heading towards the slave market again.

From the information he has gathered so far, Noir is employing merchants to sell their human slaves. Slaves that they kidnap off streets or using some other methods. Perhaps they have radar to detect the purity of souls. It was a guess but Akashi didn't think the idea was far off.

Akashi walked the streets but sensed another presence on the roof of the buildings. He fastened his pace but kept his cool down, not wanting to alert his stalker that he knows of his presence.

Akashi calmly walked until he stopped midway.

'Come out. I know you're here.' Akashi said, waiting for his stalker to come out of his hiding, which he did.

A gust of wind blew behind him, indicating the presence of another person. Akashi turned around when his eyes widened as he quickly shielded his hand with his powers to evade the sudden attack. The demon king jumped away to create distance between himself and his attacker.

'Not bad. I would expect nothing less from the demon king.' the attacker smirked while looking at Akashi straight on.

'The name is Kagami Taiga. Codename - Tiger. Nice to meet you your highness.'

Akashi narrowed his eyes at Kagami, inspecting him and analyzing his strength. Kagami – who also has red hair, is much taller than Akashi with a stronger build. He also has weird eyebrows that part in two directions.

'I see. So you were the one who followed Tetsuya and I from the train station.' Kagami raised his eyebrows, not knowing he was spotted by Akashi at the station.

'You saw me?'

"Yes. Even a monkey would see you.'

Kagami clenched his fists, but remained calm. His left hand reached to his side as he grabbed his katana sword and pointed it towards Akashi.

'It doesn't matter if you saw me or not. I'll kill you here and rescue Kuroko. Thanks for coming out on your own. Saves me the trouble of you using Kuroko as a human shield.' Kagami smirked, getting into a battle position before marching towards his opponent.

Akashi smiled as well, getting into his defense position. 'It seems our intentions were the same.' He said as he evaded Kagami's katana that was aimed right at his head.

Kagami cursed as he went on for another strike. Luckily Akashi evaded and continued to mock Kagami by evading all of his attacks.

'Shit! Stay still!' Kagami concentrated all of his strength into one swing, aiming at Akashi's face. The redhead saw the attack coming but just when he was about to evade, Kagami's hand suddenly accelerated.

Akashi's eyes widened as he managed to evade the attack, but a small cut of the sword was left on his right cheek.

Akashi moved away, creating distance between him and the exorcist. Kagami panted but still had his eyes locked onto his target.

Akashi brushed the small drop of blood that was on his cheek with his thumb before looking back at Kagami.

'You remind me of someone.'

'Huh? Is that one of your tricks?'

'A trick? I wouldn't dare~' Akashi smirked, mocking the redhead exorcist.

'I'll make sure to wipe that smirk off your face! Prepare yourself! The real battle begins now!' Kagami launched himself at Akashi but as he did, Akashi saw the familiar face of one of his friends flash before him.

'Prepare yourself Akashi! The real battle begins now!'

Ah… He really reminds me of Daiki. But if he is like Daiki, then he must have the same weakness.

Akashi's smirk didn't leave his face as he prepared for the attack. He raised his hands into the air and chanted:

'Come to me my minions! Come to your king!' Suddenly three large portals to the demon world opened up behind Akashi, stopping Kagami in his tracks.

The exorcist stared in awe, not believing three portals have just opened up before him.

Akashi lowered his head down to look at the wide-eyed Kagami. As he did, large demons that resembled dragons and large goblins started coming out of the portal, standing behind their king.

'W-What is that! Your power is suppose to be sealed! So h-how did you?'

'How? Its simple, I'm Akashi Seijuro. The absolute being with infinite power.' Akashi looked at Kagami who barely had the strength to hold onto his katana.

'Shit!' Kagami cursed as he turned around, retreating for now.

Akashi on the other hand, smirked as he watched Kagami run with his tail between his legs. He really is just like Daiki. Akashi amusingly said, but all of a sudden, a sudden blast from behind him made him turn around.

Akashi's eyes widened when he noticed that all of his creatures are suddenly gone.

'Well, well~ If it isn't his majesty the king. What honor do we have to see you in the filthy back streets of Tokyo?' the mocking voice of another person reached Akashi's ears, his eyes widening further with the realization of who it belongs to.

He heard the voice but he couldn't see the owner as the destruction of his creatures caused a mist like effect.

Akashi looked in front of him in anticipation. He's not going to play this game of mouse and cat. Akashi raised his hand in the air as it began to glow with crimson red color.

With the usage of his power, Akashi made the smog disappear revealing two figures before him.

'Its been a while Gold, Silver.'

Gold chuckled while Silver, who stood beside him smirking.

'Hell, you're no fun king~ Why can't you let me have some fun?' Gold mocked, referring to the smog that was here earlier. It's Gold's signature move. To create a mist and then amusingly hunt his pray within it. Letting the poor victim wonder where his attacker is before striking and killing them.

Akashi narrowed his eyes but was alerted to steps behind him. Kagami, who came back, stood behind Akashi with his katana in hand.

'What the hell? Where are the demons?' Kagami asked but the immediate reaction he received was historic laughter from both Silver and Gold.

'Haha! You're the pimp who battled the king? You must be a total loser!'

'Don't mock me demon! I asked a question!' Kagami pressed but Gold and Silver didn't pay him any mind. Akashi decided to tell the red monkey instead.

'It was an illusion. They weren't real.'

'What!' Kagami shouted but Akashi couldn't help to laugh a bit as well. Kagami really is like Aomine. He has strength but no brains to support it.

Gold finally calmed down from laughter, looking at Akashi and Kagami with watery eyes.

'Thanks for the entertainment but now its time we kill both of you.' Gold raised his left hand that began to glow in golden color. Silver, who stood beside Gold, did the same.

Akashi narrowed his eyes, quickly disappearing to stand next to Kagami, taking the exorcist completely by surprise with his speed.

Kagami was about to turn around to counter but was too late as the demon king threw the katana out of Kagami's hand and grabbed him by the collar of his Noir uniform.

'Listen to me human, due to my weakened state; I will not be able to fight these two alone. I'll have you assist me.' Akashi revealed which made Kagami smirk.

'Too bad demon. I won't help you.' Kagami winced as Akashi tightened his grip.

'Its unfortunate that Tetsuya will have to suffer because of your incompetence. The more of my power I use, the more damage it causes to Tetsuya's body. Are you willing to take the risk?'

Akashi didn't know if his bribe would work, as he doesn't know Kuroko and Kagami's relationship but by the sudden change in Kagami's expression, he guessed it would.

'Fine. I'll help but on one condition.'

'And that is?'

'You let me see Kuroko' Kagami looked into Akashi's heterochromatic eyes which looked back at him.

'Agreed.' Akashi said as he placed Kagami back on the ground. As he did, Akashi could feel another presence just behind him.

Akashi moved but was too late as a hand was placed onto his neck.

'Sorry but this is the end… your majesty.'

'Kuroko!'

'Kagami-kun?'

Kagami ran towards the teal head and hugged him like never before. Kuroko returned the hug but opened his eyes to see Akashi smirking at him. Kuroko sighed before facing Kagami who worried over him.

'Are you injured anywhere? Are you alright?'

'I didn't fight Kagami-kun... I should be asking you that.'
