Chapter 10: The Phoenix
Ana's POV
I watch as Selena was knocked out cold from the pressure of Extermis. The doctors type away on their computers and print papers with a worried yet hopeful look in their eyes. I was leaning against the wall as doctors start to talk among themselves. I stare at Selena as she was changed into a black sports bra and a pair of black leggings. He body was glowing from the inside like everyone that has Extermis in their body. Suddenly, the glow disappears as then the glow turns from a bright orange to a bright red. I was very confused as I stared at her bare stomach where the glow is at. The glow then turns into what looks like a bird that spreads it wings widely. "Ana?" I hear my name being called and I look over at the doctors that are calling me to come over to him with Killian who was already there. I walked over to them as they are about a few feet away from Selena. "What is the news on her Doc?" Killian asked at he looked at him with crossed arms. "The final stages have accepted her body as well as the form of the fighting skills. Although, we found something." "What did you find?" I asked. "Are you familiar with Jean Grey from the X-Men?" The doctor asked us both. "Yes. She held the Phoenix force until she died from sacrificing herself to save the human kind." Killian said as he stared at the doctor. "Well, she did hold the Phoenix Force. She learned to control it for a while with the help of Professor Xavier from the X-Men. Then during a mission they were on the Phoenix took over her body and will which was turned into the Dark Phoenix." I was so confused. "What does this have to do with us?" I asked as I started to tap my Michael Korr high heel. " Well the Phoenix always needs someone to go to after the human body has died. Jean Grey has been died for five years now. Right after she has died the Phoenix had to find someone else in order to survive. Well, she has found Selena." Me and Killian both gasp as we look over at Selena. "She was chosen as the new form of the Phoenix. Usually, the Phoenix will not show herself until the body has fully accepted the new power. With us entering Extermis into her body has sped up the process of the Phoenix in which is now she is awaken. Selena will now posse the power of fire and flight through the Phoenix. Also, we are not sure, but she might have come to take some of Jean Grey's original power with her to Selena's body. We are not sure yet, but we will need to keep an eye on her if she posses the telepathic powers enabling her to read minds, project her thoughts into the minds of others, initiate astral travel, and mentally stun opponents with pure psionic force. She may also possessed telekinesis, allowing her to levitate and manipulate objects and others, generate force fields, fly, and stimulate heat molecules to generate concussive blasts."
I look at Killian with shocked eyes and then at Selena. "We need to get her to the chair right away." Killian said as he order the guards to take Selena to the chair that helped the Russians hide the memories of Bucky Barns in order to make him into the Winter Solider. "Sir, that might not be a good idea. The Phoenix is hard to control if it turns into the Dark Phoenix." "If that will happen then her mind will be changed in order for us to control her. This is a big step Doctor Smith." Killian said as he exits down the long hallway to the room where they are taking Selena.
Screams came from Selena as she lays in the chair hide the memories of her life in order for her to follow the orders of Killian and I. The chair stops as she stops screaming. The chair is then put up straight as the head set was removed from her head. Her hair was a different color. It was now a dark red color as it was covering her face. I moved and stood in front of her. "What is your name and your mission?" I ask her firmly as I stood firmly in front of her. She lifts her head up as her hair moves from her face to the sides. "I am The Dark Phoenix mortal name Selena Acevedo and my mission is to obey the orders of Aldrich Killian and Anastasia Quince, and help them with the capture of Anthony Edward Stark." I smile at her response as she opens her eyes and looks at with bright red colored eyes and a smile.
Unknown POV
My eyes flew open as I feel the sweat fall down my face. I exit out of my office and telepathically call for one of my teachers. Moments later Storm flies down with a worry look as she rushes to me. "Professor what is it? Why are you all shaken up?" I look at her and place a hand on her forearm. "Ready the Black Bird and tell Logan and Scott to come with." "Why Professor?" Storm asked as she stood up straight. "The Dark Phoenix has returned, but we need to find Tony Stark. He will be the only one to stop her."
