"You need to move the tail of the streamer 3 millimeter to the right," Kid spouted orders to Liz and Patty while they were putting up the final decorations.
"Chill out Kid," Liz sighed. "It's just a party. It doesn't have to be perfect."
"No Liz," Kid straightened a punch bowl on one of the tables in the ballroom of his and his father mansion. "If the decorations are not in perfect symmetry, then the entire party will be ruined."
"We sure make a ton of food," Maka commented as she and Tsubaki came out with trays of food. "Do you think, this will be enough?"
"I think so," Tsubaki smiled.
"You really like to cook, huh?"
"I tend to cook a lot of food for Blackstar so this is really nice," Tsubaki placed her trays on the table.
"Maka, put that tray over here," Kid called, a tear of sweat dropping of either side of his face. "We need to keep the symmetry."
"Calm down Kid," Liz spoke, after retaping the streamer into place. "It's going to get messed up once the party starts."
THUD!
"Hahahahaha," Patty clutched her mid section laughing at the sight before her.
"You're right," Kid laid on the floor in fetal position in a pool of sweat. "By the time the party starts, all these decorations and symmetry will be destroyed."
"Look Kid," Liz sighed, jumping down from the ladder. "Don't focus on the decorations."
"The future perversion," Kid's voice cracked. "In my own home. The abomination that is about to enter into my home."
"What happened this time," Maka asked, walking over to Liz and the still cackling Patty.
"Kid is freaking out because the decorations will probably be torn down with the party starts," Liz pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration.
"Aw calm down Kid," Patty cackled, patting Kid's head. "A little asymmetry isn't gonna kill ya. You only have three white stripes on one side of your head and you're still alive."
. . . . .
"You're right," Kid whispered.
"See Kid," Liz smiled, "everything will b-"
"I'M AN ABOMINATION," Kid screeched. "I DON'T DESERVE TO BE ALIVE. I'M HIDEOUS. JUST LIKE THESE DECORATIONS!"
Patty fell backwards laughing hysterically while Liz babied both Kid as the vein popping on her forehead.
"It must be pretty difficult being Kid's partner," Tsubaki smiled kindly.
"What about Blackstar," Maka interjected. "He must be a handful."
"There are times Blackstar can be a bit too much," Tsubaki began moving back to the kitchen with Maka. "But overall he's the best partner I could ask for."
"I guess that true," Maka opened the kitchen door for Tsubaki. "You do even out his crazy personality."
"GET OFF YOUR ASS AND GET BACK TO WORK," chills ran down the two girls spines hearing Patty's threatening voice echoing from the ballroom, followed by a scream from Kid.
"Patty your so mean," Kid yelled as he sped around the ballroom fixing the decorations and putting more up.
~Night of the party~
"Are you ready Daniel?" Emily asked, watching her brother adjusting the tie on his suit.
"Almost," Daniel smiled. "I still don't get why you don't want to participate."
"You know me and social gatherings," Emily shrugged.
"Either way, I'm glad I convinced you to wear that dress," Daniel gave one final tug to his suit jacket before turning away from the floor length mirror. "What do you think?"
"Sharp," Emily gave a thumbs-up unenthusiastically. "Can we go now?"
"Cheer up sis," Daniel smiled. "Tonight's gonna be a blast."
"You know I can't cheer up while Dagger is still out there."
"You heard Lord Death, Emily. There's no point in worrying right now. Besides-" Daniel turned to face his sister and pointed to his forehead. "-Worrying causing premature wrinkles."
"Shut up," Emily huffed. "Like I care about getting wrinkles."
"You never know. Maybe once I'm able to be separated from you, you can go on some dates of your own."
Daniel and Emily left their apartment and began to make their way to Death the Kid's home to get the welcoming party they were promised. As they walked and laughed, they got a few strange looks, but that was to be expected. No one could see Emily, only Daniel could. Only one twin would have control of the body at a time and it was Daniel's turn "to drive" as they say.
"You ready Maka," Soul stepped out of his room, fiddling with his tie.
"Almost," Maka called from her room.
"Where you two off two," Blaire asked perched on the top of the couch in her cat form.
"It's a welcome party for the new Meister/Weapon pair at the DWMA," Soul undid his unsuccessful knot before trying again. "I just can't get this tie done. Do you know how to tie a tie, Blaire."
"I'm much better at untying them," Blaire gave a devilish smile before jumping off the couch to go to Maka's room.
Blaire scratched at the door for a second and Maka opened her door a crack, letting the cat inside, leaving Soul to his tie. Blaire jumped up on Maka's bed and settled down on the meister's pillow. Blaire looked up and saw Maka wearing a simple black strap dress, with her hair in their traditional pigtails.
"Why don't you let your hair down, Maka," Blaire stretched her body as she settled further into the pillow. "I hardly see you without the pigtails."
"I hate how my hair can get into my face," Maka explained, adjusting the hair tie. "Besides, it's just a party."
"The reason why you should let your hair down," Blaire argued. "You can have your hair up any other time."
"I still don't see the point."
"Here," Blaire quickly transformed into her human form and jumped off the bed to stand behind Maka. Blaire worked quickly, and gently, to pull out the hair ties and started playing with Maka's hair. After tossling Maka's hair, Blaire took the curling iron from her friend's dresser and began to curl sections of her hair.
"Maka," Soul knocked on the door. "We'll be late if we don't leave soon."
"Almost done," Blaire called down. "You can't rush perfection. Besides, there's nothing wrong with being fashionably late."
"Soul's right," Maka sighed. "We need to leave soon."
"Just one more thing," Blaire insisted. Blaire took off the black choker she was wearing and put it on Maka. "You need at least one accessory to tie the entire outfit together."
"Isn't it too much," Maka asked, fiddling with the star charm on the choker.
"Not at all," Blaire smiled, fluffing the waves she put in Maka's hair. "You can't complain about it. It's not going to get in the way and it isn't actually choking you."
"I guess that's true," Maka sighed. "Are we done?"
"Yep," Blaire smiled and skipped to the bedroom door. "You ready to see Maka, Soul?"
"I guess," Soul called and Blaire turned the doorknob and opened the door.
