Boomer
I rubbed my eyes as I slowly descended down the stairs of my home. As I made my way into the kitchen, I stopped and acknowledged Brick on my couch. The memories of last night suddenly hit me. After being kicked out Brick made his way over here. He was a drunken mess so falling asleep wasn't the problem, thankfully. I continued down the stairs, into the kitchen to see Blake and some girl lip locking. "I knew this day would come.." They jumped apart in shock. "Blake, who is this?"
"This is my-..my-" He seemed to struggle to label her. Wrong move, son..
"Girlfriend, son. It will be safer for you to just say girlfriend" The girl went upstairs since she was under dressed, only wearing one of Blake's shirts. "Now look what you did, you made her angry"
"Learning the game from my father. She'll be fine, just please don't tell mom" He genuinely looked scared, not that I cared. I made my way to the coffee machine, trying to start my day of somewhat normal.
"I can't even have a normal conversation with your mother. She's mad at both of us right now. You sneaking some girl in the house isn't the biggest concern. But it is a concern. We will discuss your punishment later" Blake went upstairs and I returned to making myself breakfast. Something I've had to learned how to do again since bubbles has left. I haven't gotten to the good stuff like pancakes and bacon but toast with jelly will do just fine. As the coffee machine beeped, brick appeared in the kitchen. "The dead has arisen"
"Please tell me what I think happened last night didn't really happen..." He was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, before giving me a pleading look.
"If I did that then I would be lying. What did you do last night to piss Bloss off?" I poured brick a cup of coffee and handed it to him as he sat at my table.
"I only remember bits and pieces"
"You gonna go back there?"
"Only if I have back-up."
'Why?"
"I feel like she will try to kill me. With witnesses around that's less likely" I sat at the table with my 'breakfast'.
"Or she would kill us all..." He laughed at my joke but we both had this feeling of uneasiness because of the possibility of it being true...
Buttercup
I threw the folder down on the table in frustration because I couldn't take it anymore. The more evidence we got from the labs, the more I was being to put the pieces of the puzzle. Butch was a master-mind thief. He wasn't the one actually committing the crimes but he was the one thinking of them, planning them. Which is worst! A few people were killed during the robberies, that's blood on his hands. My husband's hands. I left my office, it was all becoming too much. Everything.
Bubbles
I got the call from a hysterical Blossom but I didn't come check up on her. I'm here now and she's changing the locks. "Bloss are you sure this is what you want to do?" She turned around to see me looking at her with great concern.
"No, this is all I'm legally allowed to do.."
"Any more legal actions you are thinking about concerning?" I was hoping she did say what I thought she was going to say.
"If it comes to that point, yes. For now I just need space, especially after last night." She stood up to check the door. "Now I'm done with that, please come in" She opened the door for me and I stepped in. the place was a little messy, Blossom didn't do messy.
"How you holding up?"
"I'm making it. I don't know what I would do if I saw him. Call the cops, curse him out...or just kill him." She poured us some wine, I noticed her hands were slightly shaking.
"You don't mean that and I don't think you should have this" I motion towards the cup of wine, which she quickly snatched away.
"He has done so wrong these last few weeks." She took a long sip out of her cup, before continuing. "I just discovered of his unfaithfulness and his two kids. TWO. Donnie and Blair. Adorable kids really" She said that last sentence with monotone sarcasm and took another sip. "He completely blew off our tradition for Brent. He has taken money from ME without me even knowing! I don't trust him, and I feel as if I don't know him. Especially after last night. I saw a whole different side of him, that I don't like. Never has my life been threatened my someone I love. Never have I been treated so poorly." She forcefully dropped her glass down and seemed to be lost somewhere in space. She was obviously hurt. It was clearly written on her face. In her eye, oh her eyes. They were lightly rimmed red, so i know she's been crying. She had light dark circles under her eyes, so she hasn't been sleep too well. Her constant shaking is from the massive amounts of coffee, her machine looks as if it's been through it. I carefully placed my hand on her shoulder in deep concern. I couldn't let her go through this, it hurt me seeing her like this. She was the one who solved my problems, I never would have thought I would be solving hers.
"Blossom the only thing I can tell you to do is forgive. Forgive him for all he has done. Once you do that, you have to make a choice. Stay with him or leave. If you stay with him you CAN NOT let this come up in the future. It will only bring you down".
"How do you get over something like this?!"
"Time heals all wounds." Just as she was about to question me, we heard the doorbell ring. She was so distraught, I opened the door to show Buttercup. She looked so conflicted. "Come in" I closed the door behind her. "What's wrong with you?"
"I'm married to a mastermind criminal." She plopped on the couch and seemed to be staring at nothing in particular. "This is all complete bullshit." I sat next to her and she came back to reality. "I can't be talking to you two about this"
"Then who are you going to talk to?" She ran a hand through her hair as she took a deep breath.
"People on my team. It's fine but I wasn't here to talk about me. Where is Blossom?" I led her to an empty kitchen. "I knew food and liquor would solve my problem right now but that's not what I asked. Where's Blossom?"
"She was in here drinking." Buttercup and i stared at each other for a moment before scrambling to find her. Buttercup went one way and I went the other, luckily I found her sitting on the stairs, smoking a cigar. "Since when do you smoke?"
"All kinds of impossible shit is happening so why not" She took another long drag. "This is from his collection. I'm not a typical smoker but this is nice." I grabbed the cigar from her hands.
"This is not you and you will not start with this. Don't let this man break you, Blossom. You are a strong, education, beautiful woman. You are better than this. Show him that you don't need him. Prove it to him. Prove it to yourself." She was silently crying yet looking at me as if I was her hope.
"Is that what you're doing?" Her voice was cracking yet she managed to say what she needed to say.
"Yes. I'm working on it day by day so you're not alone. I'm pregnant. I can't be drinking my life away or smoke whatever my husband has stashed, I have to think rationally because another life is involved now." She seemed to sober up when I mentioned the baby.
"Did you decide yet?"
"No but I've looked into some alternative options. Like giving my baby to a couple that can't have kids?"
"That's wonderful but don't do it for the wrong reasons." I knew what she meant. Don't do it because the baby would tie me back to Boomer. Somehow I feel like that's what I'm doing.
The girls and i were sitting in Blossom's dining room. They were drinking wine while I was drinking nature's gift, water. Blossom and buttercup seem to be in a better mood, but who knows how long that will last. "So you've met the kids and their mother?"
"No but I know information about them. Brick wouldn't tell me anything so I get the information myself. I doubt the other woman knows about me" Buttercup smirks.
"You know what would be the messiest thing to do. Show up on the bitch's doorstep and cause a scene" I laughed at the joke while Blossom looked as if she was considering it. "Give everyone hell. Him, her and the kids"
"They don't deserve that... Don't listen to her Bloss not all of what she is saying is a good idea. You should met them but on proper terms. That's only if you want this to work."
"Well damn Bubbles, whose side are you on?" Buttercup looked at me as if I switched out.
"I want Brick to pay but I don't think they should get a divorce. It's all about give and take, right?" They looked at me as if I was crazy.
"You could listen to her OR listen to me and get ready to burn that bitch's house down"
"Why would you do that?"
"Bubbles, where do you think Brick last nigh when Blossom kicked him out?" She had a point. He was drunk, maybe he went there..
"He probably went to my house. Since I moved out I don't know what goes on there anymore" I ran my finger across the rim of my drink.
"You miss being home?" Blossom rubbed her hand across my back in comfort.
"I'm moving back soon, at least I planned to. A LOT has to change if I do though."
"Well make you list of demands and ship it off to Boomer, he misses you. That's all butch talks about when he comes home. Boomer this and Boomer that. you would think those two were together. " She looked down at her glass, "I think he does it to avoid our conversations about our child."
"How's that going?" Bloss and I were genuinely concerned.
"it's going. We know where Junior is and everything yet we just wont go. I don't talk about it, he doesn't talk about it. It doesn't get brought up. Its fine for now, but later? Its gonna blow up on us. I just know it"
"Stay optimistic BC, Butch is cray cray about you regardless of what happens he will be there."
"Speaking of being there, has anyone seen or heard about Ashley?" BC avoided my eyes.
"Why the hell would you bring that backstabbing fake ass friend up?"I rolled my eyes as BC got the response she wanted.
"Oh the shade! You haven't talked to the other baby momma?"
"Buttercup shut up, the baby may not even belong to Boomer knowing her."
"New topic" I leaned on the arm of the couch, hoping they would drop this.
"I'm getting an award Sunday night and I want you two to come, for support since I seem to be lacking that these days."
"Of course we will be there." Buttercup and I jump on Blossom, giving her a big hug.
Blossom
Hours after the girls left I was a bit tipsy so I cancelled all my plans for today. Public intoxication is never pretty. I was relaxing on my couch when I heard someone bang and kick at my door. I thought it was the neighborhood kids and quickly dismissed it and made a mental reminder to call their parents. That's when I heard glass break and realized it was the neighborhood kids, someone was breaking into my house. I grabbed a gold club from Brick's bag and walked towards the front door. "What the hell?!"
Brick, Boomer, and Butch were standing in my house in front of, my now broken, front door. The other two looked guilty and sorry but Brick obviously had some liquid courage in his system. "Why did you change the locks?"
"Because it's MY house, I can do whatever the hell I please. Now leave." I wasn't in the mood to deal with brick. It would only being me down.
"It's my house too"
"Since when Brick? You don't come home every night. Cook. Clean."
"My name is on the deed, isn't it? I'm the one that bought you this house" He stepped closer to me, trying to seem threatening yet it only made me more angry.
"So you think that give you the right to break the front door and act like a complete asshole?" I stepped closer to him even though he towered over me. I wasn't backing down. Boomer and Butch saw how this was about to turn out.
"Yeah so Brick, buddy, we are just gonna do" Brick didn't seem to hear them as we continued our conversation.
"I can break whatever I want in the damn house. I own it. I own you"
"Damn Brick, wrong choice of words my dude" Butch was mumbling to Boomer but I heard him. My tempered flared.
"Oh you own me?" I let out a sour laugh. "You just made it my soul mission to tear you down Brick Jojo. Time to teach you a lesson because you don't own shit" I took grip of the gold club and tried to make a swing at him but he ducked just in time. He bear hugged me, trying to take the gold club from my hands. "Get the fuck off me Brick. You have become this disgusting human being that I'm ashamed that I married. Just when I was about to give you a second chance, you proved to me that you don't deserve it!" i was crying and angry at the same time. i managed to get him off of me. I grabbed a vase and threw it at him. I grabbed some more items an threw them. I didn't care what I threw, I just wanted him to hurt.
"See man I told you we shouldn't have come. You got me dodging furniture and shit. I didn't sign up for this." Butch looked at me as if I was a wild animal about to attack yet he was talking to boomer who was dodging right along with him.
"Just GET. OUT." I pressed a special button by a lamp
"No, I came to talk to you" I punched Brick square in the face. Butch and Boomer made sounds in the background.
"So much for a fucking conversation. You can try talking to me in a more civil manner, when you don't have liquid courage. Until then, don't communicate with me. Now I will say it again, get out." The boys tried to get him out.
"Dude come one, let's just go" He pulled away from them.
"I gotta get my stuff"
"You can get your shit from the bottom of my window, because you are no longer welcome in my house. Oh and if you EVER utter the words of you owing me, I will ruin you. Do you understand me?"
'Are you declaring war?"
"You asked." Two built men appear on my doorstep in uniform; officers.
"We got a call, is everything ok ma'am?" The officer has a sweet southern accent.
'No sir, I need these three men to be escorted out and to have an officer posted near my house at all times." They nodded and began to take action. Boomer and Butch walked out willingly while they struggled to move Brick. He held eye contact with me as he got pulled out and I realized in that moment. The man I married was gone. Good. Because the woman he married was gone as well..
