A.N Hello everyone. How's life? I know its been about six years since I last posted and I am very sorry to all of you who read this story and enjoyed it. The reason for the gap was a mixture of things and excuses.
Practically every problem a writer can face happened. Rewriting chapters, saying you will do it later and so on. Just a bunch of excuses which I am trying to fix now. I do plan to move forward with the story and
hopefully it will be in a timely manner. I also do planned on editing previous chapters to fix grammar errors and such and hopefully do some restructing. I do want to shout out to a guest reader who recently reviewed the story.
thank you for complementing the story and I do hope you come back to see this. Have a great day everyone and sorry again for not finishing.
I woke up from my sleep. I realized that there were tears running down my face. I tried to recall my dream but it was fading away. I remember the emotions it brought to me. Bitter sweet happiness but why? I kept trying to grab onto something and then I remember one thing, my father. He was in my dream. I think he told me something. Sadly I couldn't remember and I became very frustrated. Eventually I calmed down and decided to get out of bed.
The first thing I noticed was the ship was still. Weird. We must be in harbor. At this point I wished there were windows on the ship so I knew the time of day. Unfortunately, the creators only had war on their minds when creating the ships.
I started to sit and a dull shot through my right arm when I tried using it to lift me up. I made a mental note. Do not use the right arm. After I got myself sitting up I tried getting out of bed and notice a weight on my leg. That's when I remembered that it got hurt during the ice fall. The ship doctor must have braced it after he knocked me out. Experimenting it seemed that my leg could support my body due to the brace. I decided to use some water bending to help the healing.
It felt good waterbending even for such a simple task. The connection I felt with the water uplifted my spirirts. After I healed up my leg I couldn't help myself and started playing with the water. Making different shapes or freezing it then heating it up. I don't know how long I was distracted with the water but I snapped back to the situation I was in. As i put the water back in the bowl next to my bed I felt a ping of sadness but I had to figure out where we were and what Zuko was up to. I couldn't let him go off and do something stupid.
Of course, Zuko did something stupid. You leave the guy alone for... I still didn't know how long it's been since my accident. I had walked out of my room to the ship's main deck when a few crew spotted me. They ran up to me all trying to tell me something. It was hard to understand what they were all talking and it did not help that I was distracted by where we were. I was not at the South pole anymore in fact it appeared we were at a Fire Nation base. It looked to be a new base in the former Earth Kingdom territories with the newer buildings and construction. This couldn't be good for Zuko who always got in a sour mood being around Fire Nation.
I was snapped back into the conversation with the crew after one of them shook me. They told that Zuko was in an Agni Kai. I tried to run ashore but the crew tried to stop me due to my leg. I was able to 'convince' them that I was good to go. I think flipping two of them on their backs was a good agruement. The tried crew member, Rohit, said he let me go on the condition that he would come along with me just in case. Rohit was one of the soldiers on the ship who spared with Zuko and I. After Zuko and Iroh he was probably the next person I got along with due to both of our love of martial arts.
As Rohit lead me to the duel he told what had happened when I was asleep. Zuko and Iroh were greeted by Admiral Zhoa. This was bad. I met Zhao on a few occasions and knew how ruthless he was to get to the top and by the sound of his new rank it was working. If Zhao learned about the Avatar he would definitely give chasse. He would have no issue getting rid of anyone who would get in his way including a Prince, who was my best friend.
Rohit had no idea what caused Zuko to get into a fight with Zhao but Zuko's infinite wisdom got him into a battle to the death. Seriously, did Zuko have a death wish? Well, maybe if he is challenging an adminral. I suddenly picked up the pace upon thinking those thoughts. Rohit seemed to be in disbelief that someone with a brace could move so fast.
When Rohit and I finally made it to the fields we saw something that neither had expected. Zuko was winning his duel and by a lot. Zhao was his back foot. Zuko is a strong firebender, though he wouldn't admit it, but I really thought an admiral would fight better. I didn't know how long the duel was but it wasn't long after I arrived that Zuko ended it.
Thank Agni, Tui and LA. I was so glad that Zuko wasn't going to die. Then the thought of what Zuko would do. This was a fight to the death so would Zuko actually kill Zhao? I knew Zhao was a bad guy but to kill someone. Fortunately I did not have to wait for Zuko's response. He began to make a fist and I felt my stomach drop but to my surprise Zuko walked away.
Zuko noticed me and had a small grin on his face that quickly went away. He really needed to lighten up. I cheered as I approached my friend when Zhao made a move. Before either of us could react to Zhao's cheap shot Iroh came in and put a stop to it. Sometimes I forgot that Iroh was still a powerful bender and warrior.
"For Agni's sake Zuko. I've been out for what, three days? And you're getting yourself into an Agni Kai without me." I expressed as I give a friendly punch on his shoulder.
"It's good to see you not lazing around in bed," Zuko snapped back.
"Lazing in bed. I sh..."
Iroh interrupted, "Prince Zuko, Lee. We should leave immediately."
After looking around we both nodded in agreement. We were reminded that we were currently surrounded by Zhao's men and they might snap out of their disbelief of seeing Zhao's defeat and come after us.
Hope you enjoyed it. I think I will get the next chapter posted by 2019. Just kidding, I am hoping to have that typed up (orginally i wrote out this chapter and the next couple and kinda regretting it but whatever) for next week after the holiday.
